The Gryffindor moved around, trying to warm up so that she wouldn't have to do so while flying. As she waited for the game to begin, she glanced at the stands. She couldn't make him out, but Flash had mentioned he was going to be there. After a few months together, Ana would have expected to know him better than she had at the beginning of their relationship. The simple fact was she didn't, and she was surprisingly alright with that. While things hadn't been perfect lately, for the most part, he was something of an escape from actually dealing with her feelings. Both knew that this wasn't the stuff of poems or songs, but if it made each of them feel a little less alone in the world, what was the harm?

Ami was likely somewhere in the stands as well. Ana couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was, but at some point during her stay with Ami's family over Christmas, Ana's loathing for the redhead had abated and Ami was something like a sister to her. Ami had gone from someone Ana deeply wanted to punch at all times to someone she wouldn't hesitate to fight for.

She heard a familiar, annoyingly shrill voice shouting in the stands. Rose, unlike Ami, was most definitely someone that Ana still loathed with every fiber of her being. The girl was one of the few people who had legitimately earned Ana's ire, and while Ana was generally trying to be less combative and generally more pleasant and even theoretically hold fewer grudges, Rose would be Ana's enemy until the day she died.

As she mounted her broom and prepared to kick-off, her dark eyes drifted back to the stands for a moment, before she launched herself into the air. Her light braids flew about wildly as she ascended and took position.

She dove for the Quaffle but was beaten to it by a combination of lions and birds and she cursed internally. The second round was slightly better since one of the Ravenclaw players seemed spooked by something and missed the red ball entirely. Once again, Ana was surpassed by Alan and Cecily. Once again, Cecily got it. She wanted to kick herself. What the hell was she doing? She'd been flying practically since she could walk and she knew she was capable of getting the Quaffle so why wasn't she? The third attempt wasn't much better, but at least Alan got the Quaffle and managed to score.

A Ravenclaw beater went down rather spectacularly and someone tried and failed to blatch Rafa, which earned an unladylike snicker from Ana. "Nicely done, Gris!" she shouted as her teammate’s attack succeeded before turning her attention back to what she ought to have been focused on.

I was made aware that I had forgotten to roll for the ricochet of Scarletts attack after a successful hit on Jorah. Calculations were made, and the post was edited. Aly Salinger was targeted and hit for 600 HP damage. Thank you to all who have reached out with any concerns or compliments!

It was on. Her first game starting on the field. And as the beginning was announced, and the quaffle was released, everything swept into motion, immediately wiping away all her nerves, until all that was left was focus. Her cold grey eyes scanned the area, she swiftly rose a bit before she began taking laps trying to cover as much ground as she could. Searching for that tiny flicker of gold, her only focus, as well as of course trying to keep an eye out for any incoming bludgers. For now she seemed alright. Quickly her eyes spotted something before losing it, averting her eyes back to where the snitch had just been, aha, there you are, “Alright I see it”, she said, and sent a glance to her teammate. In one fluid motion she leaned forward gaining as much speed as she could, it was time get this thing.

As the game started Lavinia was watching avidly from the sidelines and was cheering on her team pretty hard. When her team captain Cecily scored twice super quick, Lavinia felt like she might not have a voice after watching this game. Then Gryffindor scored, that was not a very fun moment but the game went so quick that the beaters were on top of the action next. As Jorah hit the bludger towards Gryffindor’s seeker another bludger hit him right in the back and he went tumbling to the ground. The thing was it looked as though Sadon was supposed to be on save duty and they didn’t move a muscle. It seemed as though Sadon had entered the field but the nerves were too much and they were just sitting still on their broom. Lavinia watched as Cecily exchanged a few words with them and soon enough they were coming down to the bench and Cecily was yelling at Lavinia to get on the field. Excited that she finally had her change to play, Lavinia mounted her broom said goodbye to the bench and joined the game.

Alan was really happy with how the game was going so far, he had actually managed to score a goal right off the bat which he had not managed in the previous game. It filled him with a kind of adrenaline that made him do a quick spiraling motion with his broom as he threw one of his hand in the air, celebrating this small victory over Ravenclaw. Surely it had not been all that difficult because no one had been guarding the goal post but he had been faster and more accurate than the opposite chasers an that was enough. So far Ravenclaw was still in the lead but the fourth year was sure that they would be able to catch up again, they had to. He was putting all hope into Evelynn as their seeker because she was the only one capable of making this game end quickly; well... her and the other team's seeker but he did not even want to waste a second thinking about them possibly getting a win.

Gabriella's heart was pounding as she kicked off the floor and soared into the sky. Her first task was simple: defend River, the Seeker, should she be targeted. All Gabriella had to do was follow River's every move and whack Bludgers if they came soaring towards her - what could be easier than that?

An eruption of noise from the Ravenclaw stands informed Gabriella that they had scored, not once, but twice, although Gabby had been too concentrated on defending the Seeker to watch it happening. Still, she cheered and yelled with her fellow Ravenclaws from the sky. It occurred to her that she was the centre of the action. Well, not her personally, but those fourteen blurs of blue and red in the sky, including Gabriella herself, were, and to be one of fourteen in the whole school to be doing something was pretty special, she thought, especially as she had never done anything of the sort before. But she couldn't let these thoughts distract her, she realised. I need to carry on defending River with all I've got.

Suddenly, Gabriella found herself screaming as Jorah, her fellow Beater, was knocked forcefully off his broom and fell to the ground? Was he ok? For a moment, she looked away from River, scanning the ground for a Ravenclaw second-string Beater. Did they have one? She really hoped they did - Gabby didn't want to be on her own, not in her very first match.

Even just watching the game from this close was exciting. Henry really hoped they won, but was just glad to be a part of the team. As everyone prepared to get started, Henry was approached by their co-captain and prefect. After what happened with his toilet prank, he was a little wary around the older boy, but he seemed pretty cool. He even had hot cocoa. Grinning at Sylvain’s words, he nodded, looking back out to the field to catch the action. Everyone was flying around so quickly, but Henry didn’t have too hard a time keeping track of who was where.

Sitting on the edge of the bench, Henry watched as the team scored twice, shouting in excitement both times. Unfortunately, Gryffindor was able to score as well, but only once. Watching with anticipation and dread, he saw Jorah get hit and fall to the ground. Henry hoped he was okay, he really wished he could go out to help, but he stayed where he was. Aly also got hit and it didn’t look very good. Hopefully they wouldn’t lose her too. He couldn’t quite tell from where he was, but he really hoped River might be seeing the snitch.

Paisley felt as if her spirits were soaring as she watched the Gryffindor players take off. Suddenly she realized that it was indeed more than a game. She followed quickly, her eyes darting this way and that as the game started. I sure home none of them fall off their broom! Or what if one of them gets hit with a bludger? What if...what if... she was getting lost in thought, and had missed almost the entire beginning of the game. She looked around to see if anyone had noticed, and, of course, they hadn't. Everyone was too intent on watching the game.

I'd better be more careful! she thought. Or I might end up missing something amazing! I wonder...will any of the players here now ever become stars? Will I get to say when I grow up that I knew them? she continued speculating this as the match continued, and almost missed when Gryffindor made a few points. She cheered loudly, and settled back down.

Although she was embarrassed to admit it, and part of her, in the very back of her mind, wanted her to be the amazing quidditch player. She might be benched now, but what would happen when she moved beyond the second string? I could become a star... she though, and realized she had missed even more of the match. But that's only if I pay attention!

Deciding that she would miss nothing else, she got into a comfortable position and followed the Gryffindor players as they flew through the sky.

Scared to blink for fear of missing out on something Akari's head was frozen in a tilted up position, her gaze was peeled to the skies and she keenly watched each player whizz around as the game begun.
She winced ever so slightly as Ravenclaw proceeded to score the first two goals of the game, though before anyone could get discouraged, which was luckily not very long after, Alan managed to come through and score for Gryffindor! Akari cheered along happily with all her other housemates at this achievement.

While continuously scanning the sky, she happened to catch Piérre‘s eye and saw him wave down at her. She then enthusiastically responded to him by waving back and returning a big smile then used both her hands to give him an encouraging thumbs-up.

"You can do it guys" She then whispered under her breath.

The game had only just begun after all.

Though Aly had dived for the Quaffle, her fingertips didn't even brush the surface; instead, her team Captain, Cecily, snatched it twice in a row to score 20 points for Ravenclaw. With nervous and excited adrenaline rushing through her, alongside a bit of disappointment that she hadn't even managed to grab the Quaffle, Aly took one hand off of her broom to pump her fist twice in the air.

"Woo-hoo!" she hooted loudly, grinning at her Ravenclaw team Captain. "You've got this, Cecily!"

She turned around on her broom to look- and then, all of a sudden, one of the Gryffindor Chasers... Vanes, the second-year Ravenclaw was pretty sure was his name... had scored in one of Aly's own unguarded goal hoops. Her freckled face flushed red from embarrassment. What with all this adrenaline for her first game pounding heavy and exciting through her veins, she had left her post unguarded in her frantic dive for the Quaffle. And now Gryffindor had ten points to Ravenclaw's twenty! What kind of Keeper was she?

A frown spreading across her round, pale visage, Aly glanced about the pitch, trying to figure out her next move. Her green gaze caught upon Jorah, one of the Beaters on the Ravenclaw team, a boy she only vaguely knew of from practices... just as a Bludger slammed into him from the front, well-aimed by a redheaded Gryffindor Beater, and then he was hit again from behind by the other Beater on the opposing team. Those Gryffindor Beaters really know what they're doing, Aly reflected as she watched the Bludger get bigger and bigger and bigger.

Only then did she realize that it was getting bigger because it was coming towards her.

Before the petite brunette could do anything other than grab her broom and try to brace for impact, however, the hard iron ball was slamming into her side; pain ricocheted through her slim form, and she spiraled slightly, just barely managing to hang on to her broom. That was definitely going to bruise.

Still, Aly Salinger was not the type of girl to give up after just one hit. An emphatic look of determination spreading across her face, with furrowed brow and set lips, Aly tried her best to shake off the pain and keep playing. She wasn't down and out yet, after all.

My team needs me. And I won't let them down.
