First Year Transfiguration

Aileen Johnson wrote: If Aileen had known more students would enter the class late, she would've stayed in her comfortable bed a little while longer. A yawn slipped past her lips while her blue hues shifted through the classroom. It was a mess. Students started talking among each other as soon as the teacher had decided it was time to introduce themselves. She scoffed. What did she want to learn this year? How to avoid taking part of classes like this sounded like a pretty good thing to study. An unfamiliar voice called out to her and she turned her head to see that one of the students who had came in late, had taken a seat next to her. Great. She thought. Now I have to be social too.

"Um, what are we doing right now? Have I missed anything?"

No, worry not young student. You have not missed a thing. Not anything interesting for that matter. "The professor wrote the strangest formula on the black board, something about viciousness and wand power." Her voice devoid of any interest though her eyes curiously observed the student. A Hufflepuff, definitely someone she had not seen before. "I've written it down just in case but..." She shoved her parchment towards him, revealing the formula that had been written on the board earlier surrounded by rather creative doodles of her fellow students. "Not quite sure if you can follow it."

She didn't mean it in a mean way, though perhaps it did come across as such. No, she merely meant that her doodles were literally all over the parchment, even at some parts of the formula. "But apparently right now we're supposed to discuss what we wish to learn this year. So, little Hufflepuff, other than learning how to be on time for class, what do wish to learn?"
James took the parchment gratefully.
"One second..." James prompted. "Let me just write this down real quick."
James kept his head down, hovering over his own parchment, rotating his view between the two different pieces of parchment. He made sure to write it down exactly how he saw it so he wouldn't miss anything.
Once he was done, he set down his writing utensil and turned back to the girl who had helped him.
Handing back her parchment, James thought for a moment.
"Well, I think it's a given, but I want to learn magic. I was raised muggle, so this is all new to me." he admitted.
"I'm James. What's your name?" he asked.

Kat watched his hands and arms as best as she could, her black eye giving him a glance over. "I'm Kat. And it doesn't bother me." She smiled slightly.
I'm the annoying one.
Extremely.
She pulled out a blue pen from her robes, pulling her sleeve up to reveal her tan arm that was already scribbled on. She started drawing some more, glancing up at him.

I'm secretly a Unicorn.

-Oh great-, Layla brushed back her hair as she stood outside the entrance to the classroom. She could already hear students talking inside, She braced herself and pushed open the door slightly, "umm, sorry I'm late..." she said as she looked inside. She walked inside and closed the door behind her before she could change her mind about entering. Now inside the classroom, she looked around for an empty seat. Preferably away from other students. -Oh great. First class and I'm late...-  she thought. She looked at the students, she felt for sure that she had seen them once before, but wasn't sure when. Shrugging to herself, she walked to an empty table and laid down her quill along with her notebook. I started to write down the equation and after a while started absently mindedly tapping my quill on the table as I stared at the equation. My thoughts started drifting and I was soon in my own little world thinking about the next class I was going to be taking, something about magical creatures. I couldnt wait!

'Okay, so I'm not the only late one?' I think to myself as I open the door and see that the girl who was late, was the girl I had briefly met in the ballroom.

"Sorry I'm late Professor, was in the ballroom," and after seeing the professor nod, I look at Layla as I walk to her, "May I sit with you?"

Victoria knew she was late as she rushed towards Transfiguration classroom. Sighing heavily as she stopped at the door and opened the door, Giving a small apologetic smile to the professor as the man looked at her and pointed to the board. Nodding her head silently she sat down in the back and copied the stuff on the board as she opened her book to the page that was on the board.

I looked up as a person's voice broke through my thoughts, "oh.. sure take seat" I stared at him intently for a while,  then a wide smile broke out on my face as I recognized him, "Hey! Your that guy from the ballroom!" I then quickly slapped my hand over my mouth as I realized I had said the words a bit to loud in the classroom. I mentally chided myself for talking too loud and moved aside to make room for him to sit down next to me, "nice to see you again!  We are just copying down the equations on the board" I said while pointing to the equation.

"Alright, thanks!" I say to her, smiling softly as she recognizes me from the ballroom.

I finally finished copying down the equation (forget trying to understand it ) and was zoning out once again. I pulled myself back to my senses and looked around the room. Finally, I shrugged and pulled out an extra piece of parchment, and began to doodle on it. I had stopped by the herbology classroom and had seen some really interesting plants. I wanted to draw down my thoughts and what they looked like before I forgot.  Then decided to chat as well as draw, "So..." I said to the guy next to me, "I don't think I caught your name? " I looked at him - Oh gosh... PLEASE say that he didn't tell me his name and totally forgot it or something- I crossed my fingers (a habit I had kept up since I was a kid) behind my back. I also looked over his shoulder when I heard another student enter the room, - Oh sweet! I wasn't the only one who was late.... which begs the question... when is this class going to start? are we just going to sit here and copy things off a board?-

When she had gotten her classes, she was really happy to find that her first class was Transfigurations! But, "Oh no, the class has already started!" she realized and started running through the castle. "How does anyone find anything in this bloody confusing castle!" she thought to herself as she finally found the door to her class.

She slowly opened the door and saw a bunch of other students already chatting. "Great... They probably have already made friends and I'll be left out as usual..." she thought to herself. Her face turned pink as she took a seat by herself and started scribbling whatever it was that was already on the board.

She had no idea what any of it meant or what they were supposed to be doing, but she couldn't build the nerve to ask anyone, so she sank in her chair, embarrassed.

"O-Oh, I don't suppose I have told you. My name is Alecksander, but you seem nice, so call me Alecks!" I say excitedly, thinking (and slightly hoping) that I had just made a new friend.

"Um...also, don't worry about being awkward or anything. I can answer any question you ask, just have to ask it!
