HELP! Setting #2 PV Kayden Lind Closed

"I wasn't calling her that because of her blood status! I only judge half-bloods by their personality- my whole family does. I called her that because we have history! And it involved mud." She glared at Ashley. She then was at a loss for words. Kayden had ripped his hand away.

But Ashley had saved Kayden's life. " I- I didn't mean that- I know you would never do that but I had no idea what happened. How do you think that feels? I hate seeing someone so close to me hurt." Jenny shuddered as she glanced around the hospital. " And I hate seeing someone close to me in the hospital wing." She had been holding her grandfather's hand when he was in a hospital bed... then he passed.

"All I heard were rumors- scary ones. That's why I'm here. I knew they weren't true, but I know that all rumors start from somewhere. I knew they were wrong, but they still scared me." Jenny looked at her hands and sat down. "What did happen?"
Ashley started to leave. Jenny noticed the way Kayden looked at her... he and Ashley are friends now and there was nothing Jenny could do about it. " No, you stay. I'll go. Sorry."

She didn't know what to do- she didn't want to leave but she had messed up.

He heard her speak, and he felt horrible about it. He didn't want it to seem like he had betrayed her.
But at the same time.
He took a deep breath and settled down.
"I- it's fine I guess. Let's all just chill out."
He swallowed. There wasn't anything he hated more than tension, and the room was full of it right now. He looked between them. What had happened? What possibly could have happened to make someone as angry as they were at each other? It was absurd really. Though a slur of blood was not a little thing, Kayden did want for them to feel better about each other. Two friends are usually supposed to be able to maintain a certain respect for each other even if it is just out of politeness.

He rubbed his forehead, then creased it. He pulled the sheets up closer and laid down.
"Work it out. I like both of you, but your both gonna have to get over yourselves and be friendly. Trust me I know it can be hard, but to it for the guy hurt in bed. Please."
He shut his eyes, pretending to sleep, but attempted to listen in.

Finally, she took a deep breath and turned to Jenny, running her fingers through her hair. "You should stay." Just those few words took some effort. Kayden was right. They did have to work something out. Not just for Kayden, but for themselves.
"I . . . don't know where to start. I guess . . . I can tell you what happened?" she didn't know what else to say. "I don't know the whole story, but I found Kayden outside, bleeding. He was almost unconscious, so I carried him in here the best I could. Well, dragged him, really. He's bigger than I am. I'm only 5 foot three." Ashley knew she was getting off track. "Anyway, I brought him here, and by some miracle, he survived. A house elf patched him up, and he will get completely healed later, no scar or anything," Ashley kept going. "So we were talking and I went upstairs to change and I came back down and then you came. And I'm sorry if it looked like I hurt him, or if something was, I dunno, happening, but it wasn't. And . . . yeah."
Ashley looked at the other girl. Jennifer and Kayden had something. And Ashley wasn't going to try to steal it away. Even if she and Jennifer didn't get along. She wasn't going to be like that. Ashley sat down and fiddled with the strings on her hoodie, waiting for Jennifer's response.

Work it out. Kayden closed his eyes and lay back. He was clearly listening but Jenny let it pass. She closed her eyes and took a breath. Ashley started to explain and Jenny felt horrified. Kayden could of... well, thank goodness Ashley was there. " I don't know what it looked like- I just- I don't even know. I'm sorry. Kayden is right. We need to work this out. And if he was listening, which I am sure he is not, I would say... I've messed up. I'm not a good person and I know it. I'm the reason why I and you hate each other. So, Ashley, I'm sorry." She looked at Kayden, who if she didn't know him, would seem asleep. But he was an actor. And sometimes actors acted for the good in the world.

He was a true Hufflepuff, and Jenny liked him for that. After a few moments, Jenny cleared her throat. She held up her hands in mock innocence. "I'm not saying that means we're friends..." Jenny nodded. "But, for Kayden. we should get along. And I promise I won't call you Muddy. Even if it's a lot better than the nickname, 'person I will remember as nobody because you are not worth remembering' you gave me that night."
