@Everly Charlton, I simply don't like Gryffindor as much because most people think it's the best house. Just because the main character(s) were in it. But in here, I find a lot of people that are much more open-minded. So it's not that I don't like Gryffindors, or don't like people that think it's the best house. I just don't like it when people prefer Gryffindor for the wrong reasons. (Using the term "wrong" loosely.) Every house has it's good and bad traits. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I completely agree that it's a matter of perspective.

I really expected more people to sign up for my club but I guess not.

Ahhh it's already February 9th and I havent posted Jay's Valentine Event pop-up!! At the grounds, Jay will have a booth where people can request drawings (and notes) for their valentines and Jay will send them to those people. The best part, is that Jay Victoria is going to be wearing a black cloak to hide their face since they don't want their identity to be known. Lol

Gryffindor is known for its bravery and strength. Gryffindors are the noble warriors in battle, those that aren't afraid to fight for their beliefs. They tend to be reckless, but they are also daring, which can be helpful in certain situations. The most notable graduates of the Gryffindor house include Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter, and Minerva McGonagall.

Ravenclaw is known for its studious and academic drive. Ravenclaws are witty and highly intelligent, but it goes beyond academics. Several eagles are also curious, creative, and innovative. They tend to be detached from the hustle-bustle of life, but this gives them each a unique set of lenses in which to see the world through. The most notable graduates of the Ravenclaw house include Filius Flitwick, Luna Lovegood, and Garrick Ollivander.

Slytherin is known for its ambition and cunning. Slytherins are resourceful and often have no qualms with taking the leadership role. They can be wry and sometimes cruel, but they are also hard workers and highly ambitious. These are the strategic world conquerors, and being a snake will take you far in life. The most notable graduates of the Slytherin house include Merlin, Severus Snape, and the Dark Lord himself (unfortunately).

Hufflepuff is known for its loyalty and compassion. Hufflepuffs are empathetic and patient. They value honesty and justice, and they will always fight for what is right. Hmm, that rhymes. It wasn't intentional, I promise... They can be a bit too optimistic, but they often include the truest friends you will ever have. Hufflepuffs are our peacemakers and people who aren't hesitant to do what's difficult for the greater good. The most notable graduates of the Hufflepuff house include Newt Scamander, Nymphadora Tonks, and Pomona Sprout.

No this is perfect actually. Now it's my turn to write.

Gryffindor is known for its bravery and strength. Why is it the best? They aren't. They are known for that because they are the ones who fight for glory, sounds bad but it's true. BUT they are very smart, and brave. They don't really like the attention, but they can't keep themselves back from doing something when someone is in trouble or when they see something they want to investigate. Why would someone be in Gryffindor? Well, why do you do what you do? You don't have to be brave, why you do something can make you brave. Gryffindors can be cowards, they can be shy, they can be mean.

Ravenclaw is known for its studious and academic drive. Why are they the most intelligent? They aren't. They are known for that because they are the ones that are always creating, always thinking, always trying to solve something. They aren't the smartest, just the ones who need to know. They are the ones who figure it out, find an answer, keep going. Ravenclaws can be lazy and they can be at the bottom of the intelligence latter.

Slytherin is known for its ambition and cunning. Why are they the most evil? The shocker here, they aren't. Slytherins are also loyal, it's one of their traits. Slytherins can be extremely loyal if they want to be. They can respect people and never leave their side. We also are just as rebellious and daring as Gryffindors. Slytherins are just very self-protective, They are big on Self-preservation. Does that make them evil? no, self-centered? a little. But they are not evil. Slytherins can be the nicest person you know.

Hufflepuff is known for its loyalty and compassion. Why are they the nicest? They aren't. While Hufflepuffs are known for valuing hard work, patience, justice, and loyalty. That doesn't mean they are the nicest. Hufflepuffs are just as Self-preservation as Slytherins, just as Brave as Gryffindor, just as determined as Ravenclaw. Hufflepuffs are looking out for their family, they are the ones that can't be defined by one thing, they aren't left overs, they are the ones who can be it all. Hufflepuffs can be mean.

Adding on to all that...

The Sorting Hat has a unique way of sorting students. Some are put into a house because of the traits they are already exhibiting. These tend to be the stereotypical of their house. For example, Cedric Diggory. But some are placed into a house because of their values. For example, Hermione Granger. She is clearly incredibly intelligent, but she values bravery and friendship. Some are placed where they can grow to be their best selves. For example, Neville Longbottom.

Like Professor Browne said:

A studious Ravenclaw must learn to sometimes take action rather than look for a reason in their book. A Gryffindor must sometimes learn to think and reason before they rush and act bravely. A Slytherin, can realize they are valued for their hard work just like any Hufflepuff and a Hufflepuff can in turn learn to be ambitious through their hard work.

At the same time... the houses already are similar. How can a Slytherin be ambitious without putting in the hard work? How can Hufflepuff serve Justice without being brave? A Gryffindor must prove to be chivalrous but can not do so without seeing right from wrong through reason, right? Or how would a Ravenclaw maintain their creativity without being resourceful and sometimes cunning in collecting information?

Those that deviate from their stereotypes aren't "exceptions". They belong there just as much as everyone else. They just show it differently.

Also (kinda random) I'm not a Slytherin, but it has always annoyed me that because of a few people (Malfoy, Voldemort, ect.), Slytherin gets a bad rep. I mean, Snape, arguably the BEST CHARACTER OF ALL TIME (at least in my opinion) was in Slytherin. No house is perfect, or the best. They all have pros and cons (although, let's face it, Ravenclaw is PRETTY AWESOME! ) and different houses mean different things to different people. The world's not black and white, people.

Well, even Ravenclaw has it's cons. I realize I didn't exactly touch upon those in my monologue, so I'll say it now. Ravenclaws can sometimes speak their thoughts with a blunt honesty that doesn't always take into account their listener's feelings. Their competitiveness can sometimes take a bad turn, and their intellectual mindset sometimes causes them to be cynical.

But I do agree with you, @Ashley Coulson; the world is often a nice shade of grey.

@Callista Lovis That is also true. I know that my character can sometimes act like that.
