There was nothing else he could do but cringe at the situation that would unfold in front of him. Slytherin was still fine despite Bridget looking more and more sick with every passing second, but aside from that they have not been hit with anything painful. Hufflepuffs state reminded more of an execution with both Santario and Bridget being able to land a hit on Logan who, just like her partner, seemed to be in quite a rough shape. Both of the Hufflepuff would have to be more careful from now onward as it might as well just take one more good hit for them to be knocked out of the competition. Alan was silently hoping to see some kind of comeback from the badger team, knowing that this would make defeat somewhat more easy to accept for them. Alan was however astonished by the Slytherin's skill set. He had not doubted Santario for a second because he knew her well but he was taken by surprise by Bridget who he actually knew nothing about aside from this. Then again knowing not to make her angry could probably bring him far already, because he surely would not want to be hit with one of her hexes ever. Both of the snakes seemed nimble enough to expertly dodge out of the way even though it was once again a close call for Santario.

They were finding something of a rhythm, her and Santario. She was too distracted by her cold to really think about it, too busy focusing on her casting and dodging, but they were working quite well together. She could see out of the corner of her eye that Santario had cut it a bit close with her dodge again. Still a dodge, though. Even if it had landed, it would have taken more than one Flipendo to do her teammate in.

Their pair of spells struck true once again, this time catching Logan. Although not as painful as a double Flipendo, being simultaneously tickled and trapped in a vortex of wind was certainly quite the distraction. As Logan's spell came her way, she side-stepped, the blue light sailing past her. If it weren't for her backfired Curse of the Bogies, they would be completely untouched so far. Which was still pretty good, just her cold was getting worse, her head was starting to hurt and dizziness setting in. She could feel it in her casting, too, a little less power behind her spells, a little less control over where they went. At least she had Santario to count on and wasn't doing this alone. Sure, her partner had been out fairly quickly last stage, but the time she'd been in had proved her skill. Bridget had managed to drag out the duel long enough for them to win, and with the two of them together, the Hufflepuffs didn't stand much of a chance.

This round seemed to prove a little messy, Alan was not too sure what was going on with everything but he did see what it resulted in at least. He would watch as Santario seemed to mess up her spell quite badly as she nearly hit her own team mate in the process of casting, making Alan accidentally pull a face. This was more intense than he had first assumed, but luckily for the Slytherin, the girl dodged out of the missed spell's way masterfully. Logan who seemed to have been the original target seemed a little overwhelmed or for whatever reason frozen as she did not even cast a spell this turn. Lucia was still laughing painfully but at least the spiraling wind would dissipate as the effect wore of which was probably a blessing for their team. Despite all of this affecting Lucia, she still scored a decent fire spell on Bridget which however did not set her aflame. Luck clearly was on no side this time, but nonetheless Bridget managed to heal herself up a little. She would also be able to breathe a bit more freely, thanks to the healing spell clearing her airways a little. Perhaps they had a chance to stand after all. Alan truly hoped for luck to tilt a little in Hufflepuff's favor because this duel seemed to favor the Slytherin so far. Alan hoped for a comeback though his loyalty lay with Santario.

When the room started spinning, Bridget decided it was probably time to pay a little more attention to her magically induced cold. She wouldn't be worth much if she couldn't muster up enough concentration to aim properly, and besides, she knew the spell that would alleviate her symptoms temporarily. So, instead of aiming for one of the Hufflepuffs, she turned her wand towards herself, casting the Healing Spell. The effect was instantaneous, and while the curse was still there, at least she could breathe a little easier and didn't feel dizzy anymore.

She knew she couldn't let her guard down; just because she wasn't targeting an opponent didn't mean the same was true of them. Still, it was easier to see what was coming your way when your eyes were already in that direction, which was not the case with her spell of choice for the round. Add in the distraction of Santario's spell flying completely off course towards her instead, and she couldn't quite manage to dodge both of the spells.

The fire from Lucia stung a bit, but between some of it being eased by Reparifors, the fact she'd experienced worse, and how common fire was at Hogwarts, it wasn't all that bad. Her robes hadn't even caught aflame. "You're fine," she assured Santario; no harm had been done and besides, she knew the feeling having struggled with her aim for the majority of the last duel.

They were still in fairly good shape. It was nice to still have a teammate with her, to be able to play to each other's strengths. While Santario adjusted her stance and switched wand hands, Bridget reentered hers, shaking out her wand hand and readying for her next move.
