It was not unusual for Flash to have a perked ear towards rumors involving the dungeons, nor for him to call upon Evelynn to come help him investigate it. The unusual thing was... all the other people there. Perhaps he couldn't hold it against the snakes for starting a search party, they had proven time and again that they were willing to lay their lives on the line for even the smallest bit of new information.

Not that Flash wasn't the same, clearly. Yet knowing others were nearby did not comfort him. He had learned to loathe being one voice in a crowded room. It never worked out, and usually led to pandemonium. When he started to descend the stairs at the location he told Evelynn to meet him, he was checking on the voices that could clearly be heard down the echoing halls up ahead. He'd frown with distaste at the gathering, expecting that at this rate, there were sure to be even more ambitious snakelings slithering their way over as well, incapable of resisting the temptation of discovery. They had better be even half as prepared as he was, or stay out of his way.

Flash had become downright sick of worrying about everyone else but himself. He had tried to use reason to beat the game at fight club-- a way no one would get hurt-- when that failed, he tried to minimize the damage. No one listened, like a stampede of stubborn oxen running towards a cliff. He knew who was helpful in a pinch, and who to not let drag him down with them.

Still, if not for the fact that he awaited his friend for a promised investigation, he was certain he would have turned and left immediately. He still felt he should, but propriety kept him in place. It would be much worse if Miss Evelynn was left in this mindless snake pit to fend for herself. As capable as she was, he didn't trust this mob for even a second.

One voice chimed up asking about getting a Professor. He didn't know who it was, but it seemed idiotic to adventure into a dark corridor while asking why they were there and if they needed an adult. Certainly if he actually cared, he would have done so already. If he was a Slytherin, he was probably only saying so in order to proclaim 'knowing better' later.

"Should you? Why don't you answer that question yourself instead of shoving the responsibility off on others?" Flash bit back bitterly, even though he would normally hold his tongue. Perhaps it was the lovely anonymity of darkness that emboldened him. Also, he was not in a good mood.

He would wait patiently at the bottom of the stairs for Evelynn, his arms crossed as he listened and watched.
If there is at least one successful Lumos
Flash would note the faces present and memorize them (of those he knew, the others he only memorized their most obvious trait), surprised to see Bridget among them. Unlike many others, he respected her deeply and would never forgive himself if something were to happen to her. They were a 'team', after all. If she asked, he would be at her side in an instant. Since she was looking around, she would likely see Flash too, and he would wave to her in acknowledgement. They didn't need to ask why the other was there. Self-destructive investigations was just what Slytherin did best.

Illowy thought of herself as a great many things, but a fool wasn't among them. When strange sounds were being heard, not only by herself, but other's in her house, coming from the Dungeons, the girl hardly wasted time. It wasn't her first time in the dungeons (after all, she couldn't deny she was a curious one), but it would be the first time she was going down there with the intention of finding something... even if she wasn't sure what that something was to be.

Rumors were starting to circulate the Slytherin House, spanning over several ideas that some strange, insidious creature, up to some ghostly rogue student was taking refuge down there for... honestly she wasn't sure why. What she did know was that only one name was repeatedly catching her ear; Kegan Deathmote. Not an overly familiar name to her, but she knew it. Once she'd met the boy, lurking through the corridors at night, either her first or second year, she wasn't sure. But she remembered his dark, cold presence. It had reminded her of a dementor in ways, but despite the chill he put in her, she recalled feeling something of relief to see him, and not the terrible creature she'd imagined.

The simple idea of seeing him again sparked further curiosity as she dressed warmly for the house's endeavor, armed with wand in holder and a hip bag secured around her waist with things she thought might come in handy down there. She wanted to be as prepared as she could if something did happen. And with it coming up on the anniversary of the Slytherin curse, it was safe to assume that anything could happen.

On her way down into the depths of the dungeons, she was found by Bridget; and in some sort of unspoken understanding, they silently ventured the rest of the way together, joining their fellow snakes into the chill and dampness.

Around them, she could hear her peers chittering on about if they ought to have a teacher or someone there for help. Surely, that might've been a bright idea before everyone had gotten down there. However, deep down she was sure that if the Professors found out, they'd never agree to this little adventure, and the lot of them would be in for it. In Illowy's case, she wanted answers, and the Professors were unable, or perhaps unwilling, to offer them. She didn't have time to wait around for adult right now. After all, she was among the cursed. At this point, she had nothing to loose and no new fear could be offered to her that hadn't been threatened before. At least that's what she believed in this moment.

One after the other, students raised their wands to cast Lumos, dimly revealing some strange clue already.

CONFRIMATION

What was that meant to mean? She wasn't sure.

Raising her own wand from the safe keeping of it's holster, she recited, "Lumos."

Should her wand light, Illowy would cast a glance at her friend before stepped head slightly, picking up one of the bottles from the floor, left discarded and empty of it's contents. Holding the bottle up slightly to try to find some identification as to what it was, Illowy would pipe up again to Bridget, "Someone's certainly been down here that'd never heard of a bin." she quipped before daring to take a small sniff from the mouth of the bottle.

Hanging out with K all day had been the plan, though Henry was still a little hesitant to hang out with him after he had learned that he had a crush on the boy. He realized that it was a small crush, but the fact that it was the first he was aware of made it a little awkward when he was around K. They were wandering passed an area of the castle Henry hadn’t been very often when K stopped. As soon as their footsteps silenced, Henry heard a sound. “Yeah,” he acknowledged that he heard the sound before adding, “I dunno. We should go look.” He suggested, realizing that investigating creepy parts of the castle wasn’t necessarily his favorite thing to do. Still, his curiosity usually got the better of him.

The two wandered down the staircase, the light fading the further they got. As a first year, Henry didn’t know very many spells and started to feel a little worried that he wouldn’t be able to defend himself if the need arose. Still, the sound had been weird and Henry really enjoyed knowing what was going on.

They reached the bottom of the stairs, very little light left, to a single word written on the wall. Brows creasing in confusion, Henry looked down at the trail of white stuff that disappeared into the dark. His interest was piqued and his awareness of how close he was standing to K was gone. Always bundled in several layers, Henry felt only the smallest chill at both the creepy air in the room and the chill from the dark, cold stone. “Not yet,” he muttered absently in response to K.

As the older boy spoke the incantation, Henry looked around the room, attempting to see if there was anything the others might be missing. He didn’t know much of anything about the boy who had gone missing, but he had heard whispers. Voices echoed off the walls around the two, other students investigating the same strange sound and the eerie chill that the room gave off. Hopefully, with all of them in there at once, they would soon have enough light to see properly.

The dungeons of Hogwarts remain a wretched place. Dilapidated from years of disuse, it was a dank nest of festering life. The walls wet with dubious moisture, the lighting cast dim and shadowed- it was all a hiding space for anything and everything infected with wrongness. Lower still than the safe haven of Slytherin's common rooms- all green glass and quiet.

Of course, to think of the house's home in a way, there is the question of why exactly does a school still keep a feature such as a dungeon in the first place when criminals were often placed under the eye of official government members and/or staff. And even in the past, to imprison one presumably under the school's protection was a concerning possibility, to say the least. Perhaps a hallmark of its original medieval origins- but why then was such an establishment of a vault implemented in the formation of an educational system? It was best not to contemplate the idea excessively, but when one spent most of their time amidst the dark stone of Hogwarts' underground it became a difficult thing.

Rumours were flying about the den of snakes, a common thing for the most part if not for the fact that its gossip seldom stretched past the house boundary. Astrea had the pleasure of listening in on such speculations from the safety of her own perch within the common room, the Slytherin eavesdropping on the talk of something darker at work against the student body and a name she hadn't heard in a very long time.

Kaegen Deathmote, one of Hogwarts' original recent wraiths. She knew not of him by proximity but instead by reputation, at least until the boy had seemingly dropped off the face of the Earth. Of course, Astrea was no fool to mindlessly fall victim to rumours of the schoolyard nature but the sudden resurgence of such a person was a surprising one. Even gossip had some semblance of truth within them to guide them along, a morsel of convoluted information to take note in. Against her better judgement, this strangely sudden connection between a name long ago forgotten and the darkness that had loomed over them for years intrigued our curious snake.

The dungeons had an almost ghostly reputation for holding creatures of the cursed nature, beings infected with darkness as unknown as the deep ocean. Perhaps such a wretched place held closure for the venom that infected Astrea's very blood, another clue to the mystery that was the unholy spiders who had attacked their house an entire year prior. Even after so long, neither an explanation nor a cure had been unveiled- had been closed on upon. Lingering along the walls of stone they called theirs deep under the main foundation of the school, doubt seemed to bloom.

So it came to now. A great quantity of the Slytherin occupation had split off from the rest and wandered toward the dungeons, away from the safety of their beds into the foulness of what lay beyond with an intrepid brand of foolishness perhaps better suited for members of a house redder than they deserved. It just so happened that our dear target was not a child so disinterested as she gave off, slipping through the cracks in her own logic and succumbing to the mystery that had gnawed at her as much as the venom within her veins had many months ago.

Dressed warmly for imminent disaster and senses over vigilant, Astrea had left behind innocent Orpheus and trailed down the winding staircase taking her lower, lower, lower still. Unaccompanied by anyone she would or would not call an ally and wand burning a hole from its holster, she was unsurprised to breach the hallway into a small room that rang of her housemates' voices. The hard to make out scrawl of CONFIRMATION drew patterns beneath her eyelids, a suspicious powder leading away into the unknown and curling around the former placement of an overturned chair. A not-so-collective chorus of mutterings called upon the wand-lighting charm in some attempt at illuminating their darkened surroundings. A good foundation for a plan, if only they were not in a place well-rumoured for its unsavoury beasts.

Unwilling to compromise her own instrument of power and perhaps a tad too wary of what goes bump in the night, Astrea would not do the same. No. Instead, she shall lie in wait. She only hoped that whatever they were trespassing upon would do the same.

Dan stood at the entrance to this unmarked area of the Dungeons.
He had heard through rumor and hearsay that someone was hiding out down here. Some said a Ravenclaw, some specified and said Kaegan Deathmote. It might even be Vladimir Anthanatos. Whoever it was, Dan wanted to help find them. It totally had nothing whatsoever to do with him wanting DESPERATELY to explore the unexplored.
In addition, there was a chance this would shed some light on what was going on, which Dan wanted very much to know.
He had packed a good bit of food, drinks, and of course, essentials like his wand and candy. ALWAYS bring candy, it is as essential as something to drink. Just in case he wound up staying longer than he had expected.

He started down the stairs, glad he had worn his hoodie jacket. He wore slightly longer shorts, and his usual bare feet.

Before long, Dan smelled blood. And weirdly, he saw writing on the floor:

CONFIRMATION

....What the hell was THAT supposed to mean???
There was an arrow too... Pointing further in.

Well, Dan was going down there anyway, no need for the arrow to tell him that. He continued on to see several others had the same idea.

I have a really bad feeling about this… Ileen had two main situations she tried to avoid as much as possible. Group events (especially with her fellow housemates) and everything that involved darkness. The young girl had made several bad experiences with both and in the fight club both factors had coincided and it had become one of the worst experiences she had ever had to endure.
Ever since she was haunted by nightmares. She met the boy, Victor, in her dreams over and over again, saw the hand holding him upright when he was barely alive, saw the shadow entering and leaving him. And she saw his dead body. It was a picture stuck in her head, torturing her night after night or stealing her sleep by keeping her awake.

And yet, here she was, following a bunch of Slytherins deeper into the dungeons. What had changed? Why was she here instead of staying as far away as possible?
Ileen had made a choice during the summer camp. It was connected to many different events and people, but the result was that she had stepped into responsibility. She wanted to contribute something to make Hogwarts a better place. Plus, she had found some people in Slytherin she cared about. She would do her best to support them if the darkness was lashing out for them.

A cold shiver ran down her spine as she entered the gloomy room and Ileen was sure it was not only due to the chill air.
She moved cautiously as if she were walking over glass and unobtrusively slipped her chestnut wand from the sleeve of her long dark blue cashmere sweater into her hand.
As soon as her fingers closed around the trusted wood, she felt more secure and with a silent inhale she looked around. Her dark brown eyes scanned the room, gliding over her fellow students and finally stopped at the chair and the white powder on the floor. The whole scene seemed somewhat off and she felt the goose bumps spreading all over her body.

The feeling that something bad was happening here intensified as Ileen read the words. Confirmation. The alarm bells started ringing in her head. Was this a cruel and dangerous game again? Would she somehow sign up for something if she passed that spot? Cautiously, she approached the creepy setup and tried to see if there was more to it than what she thought she saw.

The green eyes should have known better. They should have known and learn rom past experience. When the Headmaster announced that Slytherin was winning the house cup yet again, Cash felt ecstatic but the dreaded feeling that they felt was lingering in the back of their mind. The last time something vague happened to all of the Slytherin was the fight club after they won their house cup many months ago.

The barbaric fight club that still etched into the green eyes mind. Cash shook their head to make the bad experience out of their head. Then they heard a rumor. About a boy name Keagen Deathmote. The second year had no idea who he is but the rumor that circling around him piqued their interest. The purple haired should have known that they will walked into some kind of bizarre situation.

Cash usually could care less about other people affair but ever since the absent of their parents (one was dead, the other one too busy with her work to care about their only child). Being reckless is what Cash do best. Not because they wanted to seek their mother attention, it is because they like the thrill. After contemplated for sometimes, Cash nodded to themselves.

Beside, they had nothing to do and they bored out of their mind. Their school work was done days before. Cash then get up from their bed and rummaged their trunk. They pulled out some dark grey hoodie sweatshirt where there a pocket in the middle of it. Pair it with black sweatpants and a pair of white sneakers on their feet.

The purple haired then grabbed their wand. Pocketed it in their hoodie. Cash contemplated if they should took off the glasses (just for reading) that they wore or not. At the end, Cash decided to wear it. Thy took one last glanced at the full length mirror in their dorm. Once they satisfied with how they look, they walked out from their dorm.

When Cash about to get out from the Common Room, Cash halted their stride. If they will investigated what the hell is going one, they would not do it alone. Cash then walked up to Dorea Potter dorm where one Starlee Kennedy inhabited. Cash knock on the door. When Starlee opened her door, "You coming with me"They said with no room of objection for Starlee.

But Cash did not want Starlee to think that the young socialite is bossing Starlee around. "We are going to the dungeon to investigate the rumor"Cash told Starlee. Whether Starlee knows about the rumor or not, Cash will need Starlee to go with the beater. "And wear something warm this time"They reminded Starlee.

Cash then waited for Starlee on one of those lavish and plush sofa in their Common Room. Once Starlee emerged, Cash then will grabbed Starlee's shoulders and steered it toward the dungeon. Two years Cash had went to Hogwarts but they never been to the dungeon until this very moment. When both of them arrived at the base of the dungeon, Cash can feel the chill air.

One, because how cold it is and two, there is something different up in the air and Cash can not pinpoint what was it. The dungeon was so dark they have to feel around it with their hand. The wall cold as ice. "Dios mío! hace tanto frío aquí abajo (my god! it is so cold down here)"Cash exclaimed.
They grabbed their wand from their hoodie pocket.

"Lumos"They said. If they succeeded casting the light they will see a single word written: 'Confirmation' and a line of white zig-zaging like a snake through the hall.

The dungeons had never much bothered the young Slytherin. They were dark and cold, sure, but she’d always felt a sense of comfort in the walls - ones which had seen hundred of young witches and wizards through the years. She could vividly remember her first year, when she’d been led down the stairs to her common rooms, surrounded by other nervous eleven year olds who were eager to see where they’d be living for the next seven years. She could also remember the fear held in many pairs of wide eyes as they realised they were being led to the dungeons. Sarah hadn’t really minded though, even back then, and a year and a half later, she enjoyed walking the dark paths of the dungeons even more. Always looking for a new adventure.

Curiosity killed the cat, her aunt had once told her, a sentiment which often swirled in the young girls mind. It was never enough to dissuade her from running full force into dangerous, unknown situations though. Much like this one. She knew, realistically, that venturing down into the abandoned halls could only put her in danger. But she’d never been one to run from the things that went bump in the night, and so she made her way down the stone stairs, the way she’d heard whispered sightings of a figure.

The air grew frigid, fingers turning to ice as she travelled deeper into the dark hall. A light breeze ruffled her hair, where the wind came from, she couldn’t be sure. Instinctively, whether it be to preserve her body warmth or to protect herself from whatever she might run into, she wrapped her arms around herself tightly. Yet still, despite the edge of fear which had already seemingly sharpened her wits, she was somehow drawn to keep walking. Unlike many, the fear didn’t warn her away, it drew her in, intrigued and tempted her. It was dangerous yet she had no desire to resist.

As she reached a doorway, her heart almost thrumming at the speed of a hummingbird, she caught sight of an old wooden chair. It lay on its side, perhaps hastily pushed aside as someone had run by it. Beside it, she could just make out a single word.

CONFIRMATION.

She swallowed thickly, worrying her lower lip between her teeth as she read and re-read the word - the warning, perhaps. A shiver wracked her body, starting at the back of her neck where the fine hairs now stood on end. Sinister was the word which came to mind when she thought to try and explain it “Confirmation of what?” she whispered, her voice rougher than usual as her eyes were drew downwards towards messy white lines. The prickle of fear which told her she shouldn’t be down here, shouldn’t follow the zigzag through the halls was overpowered by her intrigue, her innate curiosity to just know.

Perhaps she’d regret it later, and perhaps she’d be found and punished for being where she wasn’t supposed to be, but the same invisible rope which had seemed to pull her down her in the first place, gave a harsh tug. And before she realised what she was doing, her feet were moving against the stone floor and she was following the line - through a narrow doorway and down into deeper depths of the dungeons. She squinted, the small amount of light which had afforded her sight of the line in the first place dissipated and she was wallowed by an all-consuming darkness.

Her fingers twitched, itching to grasp her wand, and the second skin touched aspen she felt the edge of fear lessen slightly. A part of her wished she’d never come down her in the first place, aware she could have been in the library studying or sitting by the Great Lake and observing as she often did. A larger part of her knew better, knew that she never could have resisted, even if she’d tried. The pull she still felt never would have let her. She could faintly hear the echo of voices - lost souls who’d been trapped down here over the years, her brain provided. She quickly dismissed it as other curious students who’d been stupid enough to enter the dark halls.

“Lumos,” She said, her voice reverberating off the stone despite the low volume she’d spoken at. Should her wand light in the way she desired, she’d glance back down at the line she’d been following and continue deeper into the darkness, letting the chalk and the invisible rope which continued to tug at her chest guide her way.

Alexander seemed to have quite a habit of going of into forbidden areas of the faculty of Hogwarts with various houses. First it was following the Ravenclaws into the forbidden forest in search of Vlad, now it was following the SLytherins into the dungeons in search for one Kaegan Deathmote. Or at least that is what he heard people say. How people had gotten word of his exisence here he had no clue, he vaguely recalled him as one of the students in his real first year. Though he did not interact with him, he had assumed that Kaegan had dissapeared with the rest of the lost upper years. But it seemed he dwelled in the dungeons.

Perhaps he had more answers, perhaps not. But with such a deep and dark area in a magical area he was bound to find something. Wheter it be information, some kind of lost artifacts or knick knacks. Perhaps even some hallowed clues to the greater conspiracy behind what was going on at Hogwarts. Another puzzle piece in the greater mystery to which the students of Hogwarts were subject. He looked at the students and frowned a little, everyone seemed to be looking at some kind of chair and some trail. He himself could barely make out the writing on the chair. For a moment ALexander considered his options, then he went forward. Moving towards room 2. The other SLytherins could inspect the chair for all he cared. By the time he got close by enough to inspect it most of the evidence might have been sabotaged by just the sheer mass of various teenagers. Unaware of any danger that they might cause.

Thus he walked forwards and made the wand movement of a loop-di-loop as if imitating the shape of a muggle roller coaster making a 360 turn. Whilst mumbling the incanctation of. "Lumos". Regardless of the succes of this action, he would move onwards onto the next room. Right now the danger of having his wand lit should be minimal. What with the high concentration of students present in this area. Though when he ventured further in it might be of value not to stand out like that.

As he walked down the staircase Alex could not help but think of how useful the ability of his friend Aida would have been had she been down here. What with her ability to move around in darkly lit areas as if they were lit. As he had experienced in the cave during their summer trip. But alas, he did not. Thus he ventured further with a few other Slytherins, in search for answers in this castle of mystery. Even if the search for these answers might come at a cost.

Opeila had made smarter choices than last year so far. Tried to avoid trouble, talked to people who were involved with it, but stayed uninvolved as much as possible. The Slytherin had resisted the temptation to go back down to the dungeons, decided against trying to contact the hags again. Her grandmother was gone and if she was brought back to life because of some hag deal, geez, she would very likely kill her granddaughter herself.

Now, it was certain rumors about a student living down in the dungeons that changed her mind. Opeila had met Kaegen Deathmote before, in the trophy room after curfew. The former first year had cut her hand open, luring the dhampir to the room she was hiding in.
Opeila knew better than to break curfew now. Darkness creeped the corridors of Hogwarts in the night, shadows and... spiders. Her fear of spiders had gotten better since the attack last February, but she still felt uneasy when she came upon one of those eight-legged creatures.

Opeila had no particular reason to care about the older Ravenclaw. In fact, she found him rather annoying, his delusional talking off-putting. But like in January, where Opeila wrapped her own coat around Vladimir, trying to keep him alive while he was unconscious and they all stuck somewhere in the snowy nowhere in Scotland, Opeila felt the need to find him and to know that he was not dead.

So she found herself walking down the stairs again. This time Opeila had been clever enough to leave her cat behind in her dorm, she didn't want Loras down in the dungeons with her.
Slowly the Slytherin entered the first room. Her gaze wandered over the empty bottles, the chalkfigure and... a good dozen of her housemates, standing in the room.
Opeila's heart was suddenly beating faster.
Trap.
Trap.
TRAP.

Last time Slytherin had been summoned to one place, they had been forced to fight one another. Ending with one student getting stabbed by a shadow. A shadow that, according to Howard, was controlled by hags. Who were, according to Howard, as well residing in the dungeons. Suddenly the little Slytherin was freezing despite the green sweater she was wearing.
There was a trail of white powder on the floor and she could see someone following it... Opeila didn't want to explore the dungeons alone.

A familiar face stood out of the other students. Flash was standing at the bottom of the stairs, watching the scene. Opeila made his way over to join him. "Hi.", she murmured. It felt kind of weird to stand next to him, after she mostly distanced herself the last months- fine, take Halloween and the fire making errand as exception. Opeila started to feel like she didn't deserve to stand with him when things went bad, when she almost avoided him in normal situations.
"Is it only me, who has a bad feeling about this?"
