If so far it had looked like fate was leaning more in favour of the Gryffindor team, this round things were quite different.
Lydia observed how both the students from the Lion House had successfully cast their spells, Raine's Tarantallegra looking particularly strong as well; however the Slytherin team was more than determined not to get hit this round. Ileen graciously avoided the spell directed at her, the blue spell hitting a wall behind her and leaving her unharmed, as the flames that still lingered on her robes completely extinguished themselves, dealing a small damage.
Alexander avoided the powerful Tarantallegra that Raine had cast at him and then he cast his curse towards the third year student; the Curse of The Bogies hit her, and the girl could immediately start feeling slightly nauseous, as her nose filled up with mucus and made it more difficult for her to concentrate.
Even if Lydia was supposed to be impartial, she couldn't help but feel bad for Raine; she had experienced the curse herself, and the effects were extremely disgusting.
It seemed as if Slytherin had started fighting back, not willing to let Gryffindor win already. Who knows what else the next round would bring?

'FFS!!!' Raine thought as the spell smacked her right in her face.
The effects of that blasted bogies spell hit her worse this time around than it did last time last year. At least last year when she was hit with it, it only made her extremely congested with flu like symptoms. This time around it seemed that she would not only suffer those same flu like symptoms, but the symptoms of nausea as well. She could only pray and hope that it didn't turn into stomach virus symptoms. That would be the ultimate embarrasment.
What made this situation even worse for the older student was that her own spell, a perfect cast with perfect enunciation and wand movement, didn't even connect with her target! It was almost as if he were apart of that old Muggle movie she had seen years ago. Something about the matrix or digital world or something. Either way, it irritated Raine to no end that she didn't manage to get one off on the kid in front of her.
Staving off the urge to vomit, Raine took a deep breath before pointing her wand at her opposition once again. The mucus hadn't formed yet, though she could definitely feel a tickle in her throat starting to form.
Ugh! She hated this spell and hated being sick!

This time, the young Slytherin was prepared. Wandless and helpless as she was she knew she would be a target again. So instead of going for her wand she was prepared to dodge. She wouldn’t be much of a help without it but even less if she was taken out of the game already.
But probably she had worried too much. The next Flipendo sent in her direction by the Gryffindor boy was not hard to dodge after all. Ileen simply stepped aside and thus avoided being hit. Her dark brown eyes searched briefly for Alexander’s.
At least he was doing fine. She felt guilty for being such a burden. But she would try everything to make it up again...

It seemed things had gone quite a bit better just now than in the catastrophic first round. Though Ileen's lack of a wand was still quite a severe issue. If it hadn't been for that one spell failing they would have had a far greater chance of success. But the past was the past and it could never be altered. Something especially clear to Alexander himself.Mentions: @Raine Sage @Lamik Fillestar @Ileen Knight
At least he had managed to cast the curse of the bugies on Raine. From what he had heard and seen before, it could be quite a bothersome spell. Especially with how people fainted after getting hit by it. Something which he knew quite clearly from his own experiences. Even if they had been years ago. Though he somehow remembered it being somewhat different......... Eh, must be his memory.
But now was not the time to ponder about the past. But to focus on the present. So focused was he on the enemy, that Alexander barely noticed Ileen. Perhaps a mistake, perhaps not.

• If a player successfully casts a spell at a part-Human opponent, they get +1 Accuracy if they attack and +1 Evasion if they're being attacked. This doesn't give any IC knowledge of the opponent's race or talent unless found out in advance or revealed during the duel.
Evasive Maneuvers:
• When a spell was successfully cast at a player with Evasive Manoeuvres, a 1d10 roll is performed prior to Accuracy vs Evasion roll to determine whether the spell will be auto-dodged (roll 10). The Accuracy vs Evasion roll will not be needed in case of success.
• The auto-dodge chance can stack only to 20% from any number of sources and in this case 9 or 10 would be considered a success.

How quickly the tables could turn. Not all was lost, of course, regardless of how inconvenient what had just happened was. This wasn't his first time dealing with the curse that was cast, though to be fair this time he was safe. At least for now. Lamik knew that he had to focus, or else the pair would be in a terrible position.

Lydia observed carefully the duellists casting their spells, trying to understand which strategies they were following and who was aiming for who. They all looked determined to win this duel for their house, not ready to give in to the other team.
Slytherin was doing quite well in this round as well, just like in the previous one: while Ileen had managed to locate her wand on the ground after being disarmed for a while, Alexander had locked his eyes on his target and was determined to hit him. His Tarantallegra flew across the stage and hit Lamik, that immediately started dancing, his whole body moving in a way that reminded Lydia of a Russian dance. It would have been almost funny to watch, if only they weren't in the middle of a duel.
Gryffindor was trying to fight back, not ready to surrender to their opponents. Raine cast her spell successfully, but Alexander managed to avoid the spell almost at the last moment; Lamik, on the other hand, had tried to cast his spell, but nothing came out of his wand as his attempted spell fizzled out. This was definitely an advantage for the Slytherin team, especially now that Ileen was one step closer to getting her wand back again.

Ileen’s dark brown eyes narrowed as both of her opponents pointed their wands at her teammate. Thankfully Alexanders was still concentrated and had not been ruffled by Ileen's poor start. His concentration and composure spread around him like an aura and settled on Ileen like a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
A smile tugged at the corner of her mouth, and she could understand why Aida felt so attached to this boy. Ileen never doubted for a second that he was standing by her.
His well-aimed spell, used to keep her back, hit the older boy and Ileen snapped out of her spellbound stance.
She should take the chance and look for her wand.
Her gaze slid hastily across the floor and there she spotted it. Not far away. She prepared to dart in that direction, but did not take her eyes off her opponents. Apparently they had not hit Alexander, but Ileen was fully aware that she was still a tempting target.

Alexander's lips curled upwards as he felt how his wand was now more obedient to his will. It could be willful at times, so sometimes he had to increase his own mental discipline and leash it to a degree. A shout of "Tarantallegra !!!"He then saw how the spell was released from his wand and how, to the despair of the Gryffindors, hit one of their own.Mentions: @Raine Sage @Lamik Fillestar @Ileen Knight
He then let out a small laugh as he saw how Lamik began to dance, his mind reflecting on the image he had when casting the spell. The Rasputin dance from some dance game. He had not played it often but that one dance had stuck with him. And he admitted it was quite hilarious.
Then he allowed himself a quick moment to look at Ileen, who seemed to have almost gotten her wand. He nodded and then focus his eyes back on the two Gryffindors. Looking in confusion as nothing at all came from Lamik's wand. In any case, now to focus on the next course of action.

The duel continued to be rather embarrassing. Whatever spell Lamik was planning to cast, it must have been forgotten during the time it took to raise and aim his wand, because nothing actually happened. Worse than that, he was hit with a spell, which he quickly realized was an extremely annoying one. The duel was looking worse and worse, but there was always hope, even if he was stuck dancing against his will.

Raine ground her teeth together as she watched her spell miss her target. This blasted cold curse was truly taking a toll on her and she was quite vexed by the entire situation. She knew that she wouldn't be able to help Lamik out for much longer if this kept up. And she was still kicking herself for not paying attention to Professor Lian's lessons earlier in the year. That Reparifors spell would have worked wonders here.
What made matters worse was that her opponents seemed as slippery as the ones she went up against last term as well. She needed to get this spell off...to at least hopefully even the odds. And also pray that Lamik would be able to get his own spell out while dancing like a maniac beside her. What a pair they made: snotty Mcsnot face and the dancing wonder.
Glancing up at the ceiling, Raine sent a prayer to whoever was watching and hoped they would help her cast this spell and connect.
