Quidditch Game
Hexcode= #507091
Beginnings were a thing fraught with magic or so Sylvain believed.
Today would mark the first game of his career as Co-Captain of the Ravenclaw quidditch team. The idea of having been on the quidditch team itself, as a player, was one that still terrified the already accident prone bookworm. Although his lessons with @River Jemari had done well in going great lengths to dispel his fear of flying, it hadn't much abated his fear of falling at all.
There was however one thing about Quidditch that still interested him greatly, so when he saw the opening for a team captain and learned that leading the team didn't require a flying on (or falling from) a broom, his curiosity got the better of him. The opportunity to test his theoretical plays in a real-time environment was enticing to say the least. Plus, interesting results were practically guaranteed.
As he walked beside his new partner in crime and co-captain, his two hands clutching every handle of a half-dozen mugs filled with hot chocolate, he gazed up at the crowd gathering while listening to her speech. Cecily's rallying cry was practical, and reassuring to hear, at least so he thought. Mostly it seemed like an effort to comfort the newer players on the team, an ode to those who'd never played and insurance that they'd be having a good time if they put their hearts into it.
Sylvain passed Cecily by and headed towards the bench after doing his best to punctuate her speech with support in the form of cocoa. He was all the more thankful to have worn his gloves to the pitch today, if not to keep his fingers from scalding, then to keep the chill of February out. Bundled as tight as a tick, and sporting his house's colors, Sylvain sat the mugs down on the bench next to @Henry Llewellyn, a second-string player that he already recognized.
He knew Henry wouldn't pull any tricks or tamper with the chocolate without permission, so he passed along the responsibility to the bench warmer. "Keep yourself warmed up," he said confidently with hint of eagerness. "We don't have the faintest clue when it'll be your go and I want you ready."
Quietly marking his procurement of hot cocoa down as a success, Sylvain produced one of his journals from within his satchel. It was a simple enough looking composition notebook, with nothing spectacular on the outside asides from the words "Top Secret." Just inside however, the notebook held what he hoped would be the last component needed to brew up the draught to his team's imminent victory.
Within that notebook were plans. Plans that had been concocted in a bout of chocolate fueled sleep procrastination. Plans that only those who could boast of belonging in the most clever of houses could pull off. Plans that just might make Team Ravenclaw the new All-Stars.
Gryffindor didn't stand a chance.

Sports. Taylor had never been the biggest fan of muggle sports but when she heard about Quidditch, it peaked her curiosity and decided she might as well apply and when she made the team, even if it was just as a second-string beater, she was excited. Never before had she had the opportunity to be a part of a team dynamic such as this. Flying hadn't been her strong suit when she first arrived to Hogwarts but once she made the team, she had practiced every day until she was at least decent.
The day had finally come of her first game. Why must my first game need to against Gryffindor? They were always so brave and I was...not... Tayl0r had always wanted the Gryffindors trait of bravery but instead she always had to have a facade of it, as she was doing now. She had her shoulders back and head up as she walked over to the pitch. The cold wind whipped her hair into her face so she tied it back into a low ponytail. She walked over to her teammates and saw a few familiar faces but most of them she had yet to meet so she assumed they were older years than her. There was a empty seat on the bench for her so she took it and tried not to freeze.

Quidditch Game
It's Quidditch time baby! This year had been such a blur. There had been a quidditch match, a ball, and a hazy collection of waking, studying, sleeping, waking, studying, sleeping. All work and no play is no way to live. Thank Merlin for Quidditch, Jorah needed a break from school. He was starting to feel like an adult with responsibilities, beaten down by work, one who had to be up in a few hours. Thankfully that wasn't the case. Ravenclaw was not about to lose another Quidditch match this year. The blue birds were not going to throw away their shot. If they were to win, they needed bludger control. Now the bludger never hesitates, it exhibits no restraint. It flies erratically, smashing and crashing into all in it's path. The bludger doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints. Jorah would guide the path of the bludger with his trusty bat. Jorah was about to send the Gryffindor's a few bludgers their way, to remind them of his love.

The game started and both teams quickly went about the pitch. It appeared both teams had the same idea, sending their keepers after the quaffle with their chasers rather than guarding their posts. With the quaffles in the air, Cecily and Aly zipped forward, trying to beat Alan, Anastasia, and Pierre to the where the quaffle was shooting up. Ana, Pierré, and Aly were close, but it both Cecily and Alan raced ahead, Alan narrowly missing the quaffle. With the ball in hand, Cecily raced towards the unguarded Gryffindor posts. "10 points to Ravenclaw!" the announcer shouted.
With the quaffle again in play, the players raced towards the ball. Aly had tried her best, but something appeared to disturb her and she completely missed the ball. Ana and Pierré continued forward, but despite their speed Alan and Cecily quickly passed them. Neck in neck the two fast approached the ball, but right at the last second Cecily stole the quaffle from under Alan. Still unguarded, the announcer spoke. "Another 10 points to Ravenclaw!"
Whatever had disturbed Aly was clearly still affecting her, as she missed the quaffle for a second time. Like the other two attempts, it came down to Alan and Cecily. Could Cecily find success a third time? She took the lead, Alan no where in sight. Suddenly the Lion came in from the side and grabbed the quaffle. With Ravenclaws posts also unguarded, he had no problems scoring. "10 points to Gryffindor! What a close battle between these two young chasers," the announcer said addressing the spectators.
It appears Rafael had strayed from his usual tactic, electing to sit back and observe, waiting to save any falling player. Sadon had also elected to wait for any potential save should one of his fellow Eagles wings break.

Rafael had been slowly flying around, waiting and watching for the moment he might be needed to save a falling teammate. Had he been a bit more focused, he might not have sensed a disturbance in the force, but something told him last minute to dodge. With a quick movement to the side, a blur known as Melissa flew past him. "That is a penalty for attempted blatching Ms Carson. Please take a lap!" It was a good effort that almost succeeded.
Today was not Jorahs day. The young boy had flown onto the pitch, but could something have been distracting him? Scarlett sent a bludger towards him, nailing him in the chest. Though he did not have enough time to dodge, he saw the bludger at the last minute and braced for the hit, remaining on his broom. What he did not expect was the fierce attack from Gris that was following close behind, hitting him in the back. This birds wings broken, Jorah fell to the ground.
Perhaps upset by her failed attempts to grab the quaffle and allow the Ravenclaws posts unguarded, or perhaps in shock seeing Jorah hit, Aly did not expect what would happen next. Somehow the quaffle bounced off Jorahs small frame and came fast, directly at her. Though she attempted to evade the incoming bullet, with a resounding thud, the quaffle hit her in the side. Managing to remain on her broom, she would undoubtedly be feeling that hit in the upcoming round.
Right before he was hit by Gris, Jorah was able to get off a hit of the bludger, targeting the Gryffindor seeker, Evelynn Decipio. Whether Evelynn was just that skilled or if she saw it coming was not apparent, but she evaded the incoming attack.
Gabriella sat at the ready, carefully watching River should a player attempt to blatch or bludger the Ravenclaw seeker, but alas, there was no need at this time for her to defend their precious seeker.
Although Ravenclaw had Sadon on save duty, he would not be flying to save Jorah as he fell. Maybe he was too focused on the player he was instructed to save, or maybe he had just zoned out, but Sadon did not move.
Note: Sadons move was forfeit due to not posting.

Quidditch Game
@Evelynn Decipio, @Akari Kato @Cecily Quinn, @Rafael D’Spacito, @Ana Beckett, & @Alan VanesTrembling in anticipation, Piérre took to the air, trying his darndest to do whatever he could to benefit his team to the fullest. By his side was the loyal Alan Banes, who had saved his bacon the previous game, as well as Ana. Rafael was prepped to catch anyone who fell, the honorable captain that he was, and Piérre knew that Evelynn was looking for the Snitch, wherever it could be.
That entrancing red leather ball... and the entrancing girl who was contesting them. The first time around, Piérre was distracted by the sheer awe and commanding presence of the girl across from him that he whiffed his grab altogether. This resulted in the first to rounds the Ravenclaw team retrieved the Quaffle and scored twice on the undefended hoops. Beating himself up over it, Piérre tried his best to go for the third grab, but Alan snagged it instead. Now, that in and of itself was not a bad thing, and ten points went up for Gryffindor... but where was the boy’s head today, getting distracted by such trivial things? Had he not slept well the night before?
No, he had gotten ten hours, the sloth he was. Perhaps this just wasn’t his lucky day. The roll of the dice had been cruel to him, influencing his actions negatively and not really permitting him to act to the best of his potential. Perhaps the next seconds of the match would be better off for him. Perhaps he would get luckier next time.
Suddenly, Evelynn’s trajectory changed, as did the Ravenclaw seeker. Had they seen the elusive gold?
Piérre squinted, but the dull grey sky did nothing to help him separate silver sky from gold orb. Evelynn must have gotten really lucky with where she was looking.
As for the Keeper, he couldn’t be a rubberneck. He had to focus on what he was instructed to do, the Charmer on the opposite team be darned. Because of this, the boy was more tense, gripping his broom more tightly. If Evelynn had spotted the Snitch, the game would be riling up big time, and he had to be there for the worst of anything.
Well, hop to it! The game is afoot!
Despite himself, Piérre couldn’t help but gaze at his little mini-keeper Akari. He smiled and waved at her brightly and the shame of the previous round suddenly melted away. Hey, he was a role model (maybe?) to some, after all! He had to prove that he wouldn’t get down on himself for such a trivial thing! He would come back twice as awesome next time!

Quidditch Game
INTERACTING WITH @Jorah Moussa
MENTIONING River Dewlight, Gris Edelhardt
The moment the whistle had blown, Evelynn was off. She'd shot skyward in an attempt to put as much distance between herself and what would no doubt quickly become a death pit of quaffle and bludger skirmishing. Not to mention, movement from the spectators in the stands always made for a challenging backdrop against which to find the snitch. In truth, the snow covered ground would likely hardly prove to be much better. Still, at least it didn't move or distract, and hopefully the white would serve as enough contrast against the gold to at least offer something.
This wasn't the only strategy for flying high, however. This might have been her first game against Ravenclaw, but that didn't mean she was ignorant of their strengths. As it happened, with their recent roster turn-overs, Moussa was easily their best beater and the cornerstone of their offense. Of course, that didn't necessarily mean that he'd be gunning for her. Many teams preferred to chip away at their opponent's offense. Such had been the case in their last game against Slytherin when Edelhardt had been targeted right at the beginning. That said, she knew just how reckless Moussa could be and she knew him to believe her to be a threat to success. If his first bludger wasn't struck at her, she'd vow to give him back his coin. But it was significantly more difficult to strike up than it was to strike down. The high ground gave her the advantage, sapping some of the strength and accuracy from any of his blows—(in theory, not mechanically). Plus, there was the chance that any peeking of the sun might temporarily blind him and throw off his aim.
As it was, she was prepared when it happened. Her keen gaze had been split in its search between snitch and golden-boy beater. Mixed feelings plagued her as she watched the two Gryffindor beaters circle in on the boy. She would certainly feel safer if he were out of the game, but that didn't mean she took pleasure in knowing what was about to happen as two bludgers sailed in on either side of him in a double-pronged and well-executed attack. The dull percussion of a solid hit left her wincing, and she found herself relieved to find him still astride his broom. Perhaps that would be enough to shake him off of her and set his focus elsewhere.
She thought wrong. He wasted no time in redirecting the free bludger and firing it in her direction. Flattening herself against her broom, she put on a burst of speed that left her ponytail whipping wildly like a crimson flag behind her. (Perhaps this was where people—Pierre—had thought she'd seen the snitch). With no intention of being an easy target, she varied her speed as well as the path of her serpentine flight through the air. Despite her efforts, though, the shot had been an excellent one. A wave of near-panicked adrenaline shot through her, all thoughts of the chill air forgotten as the desire for self-preservation took hold. A desperate bid for survival had her barrel-roll through the air in a calculated moment, the bludger whizzing harmlessly over-head.
"You forget I have your lucky coin!" she shouted victoriously as she righted herself, an endorphin driven grin pulling at her lips. In fact, she'd gone so far as to secure the coin in twisted wire strung with knotted leather about neck. She had worn it like a talisman as though it would somehow specifically ward off the attacks of its true owner. Perhaps its luck would be hers. The bludgers had discriminated. He was the sinner; she, the saint. And he'd thrown away his shot. "You'll have to try harder than that, Moussa!"
Taking a moment to catch her breath, she followed the trail of the bludger just long enough to ensure she'd properly shaken it and that it wasn't about to double-back around for her again. Her head snapped around again in search of Moussa, half-expecting him to send the second one after her as well. Only...where had he gotten to? Grey eyes panned the field frantically, half fearing that he'd got the best of her and was striking at her blind spot. Half a second later, however, she identified the figure against the snow. Evidently, his shot at her had been to his own detriment. Lips crimped in brief disappointment. As glad as she was that he had missed her, she counted him among her few friends and wasn't particularly keen on seeing him in such a state. A visit to the hospital wing would be in order.
But only after she won this game. A flutter of gold had commanded her attention, and her gaze snapped immediately to what she was fairly certain to be the snitch. Her mouth parched as gooseflesh erupted over her skin. Had Dewlight seen it? Evelynn flickered her gaze to the opposing seeker, but couldn't be certain. If she had seen it, she hadn't yet made a move for it. Perhaps Evelynn could get lucky. Edge in on the tiny orb without anyone noticing until the last second. Driving her broom up to an ambling speed, Evelynn swept circles around the pitch as though she was still hunting for the ball, gaze flicking frequently to track its progress and ensure she didn't lose it in the fray. All the while she toyed with her options.
Dive for it and give away that she had seen it? Or try to subtly sneak up upon its position, but risk losing the advantage to Dewlight should a chase break out...

A referee’s whistle and the flurry of Quidditch robes would mark the commencement of the February Game.
Rafael’s chocolate-brown eyes would promptly catch the glorious mass of red leather that was the Quaffle, and for a split second, he was unable to quell the sudden longing that washed through his insides, wrenching away at his heart painfully and sending flurries of doubt through his thoughts. It was no secret that the young Captain, as a chaser, had a fickle relationship with the leather ball – this meaning, he hardly ever touched it during the game setting, instead choosing to set his attention on more supportive actions, such as blatching the competition or rescuing his teammates from a sudden fall from grace. He hadn’t messed with the Quaffle during a live game in over a year. It was odd, he supposed in hindsight, but while not the most pleasant notion, he could at least find some solace in his actions of holding the team together somewhat during his expenditures on the field. Regardless of whether or not he played a Quaffle game, however, he could still appreciate good technique, especially from that of one Cecily Quinn – her flying was impressive in nature, and in the midst of the young man’s search for ailing teammates, he couldn’t help but let himself be mesmerized by the agility of his senior, watching in open-mouthed wonder as she send a ball spiraling through the hoops. For his first match against Ravenclaw, he was certainly impressed – Ravenclaw’s Captain definitely knew her way around the hoops. Her flying was actually quite distracting, and in the midst of his trance, he would almost fail to catch the telltale sweeping of the foot that preceded every blatch attempt – if not for the profusion of blatching failures notched upon his belt, perhaps he would have never had had the foresight to dodge reflexively, banking on his right and rolling around the bottom of his Nimbus 1700 in one clean, practiced movement. His heart was racing in surprise, his white knuckles loosening upon the broom he had previously been clutching with all his life force. He had not been prepared for an assault, especially this early in the game.
Perhaps the sudden shock could be accredited to the boy’s own pride towards his performance on the field, or perhaps even the girl’s [Melissa's] own, shockingly brazen courage. Blatching the Blatch King? It was a bold move, if he’d ever seen one. Perhaps Rafael would even go as far as to call it a Gryffindor-esque endeavor. In the midst of the happenings of the game, his eyes glued to her flying form, the young man couldn’t help the small pang of admiration that shot through his being. The Captain wouldn’t be able to find within himself anything derogatory to say to her – he was mildly impressed, actually, and a little flattered. Was he truly important enough to be targeted? The young man would regard her with a funny look, his eyes furrowed and a curious open-mouthed smile on his face. A chuckle whistled past his lips, and he shook his head, searching for the words to untie his tongue. Alas, her penalty lap was imminent – feeling his window slipping away, he would quickly but smoothly offer her a sarcastic salute and wiggle of the eyebrows – as if to say, ‘nice try, loser’! – before continuing on his way. His lip between his lips in slight confusion and amusement.
His strange lapse of thought aside, it was time for business. As far as he could tell, there were no more attacks focused on him – but, judging from the sudden surprise that was Raven’s tactics, perhaps there were more to come. And, as expected, he wasn’t the only one at the mercy of these assaults – the corner of his eye would soon catch upon the source of his mission, and with a sharp focused gaze he would watch Gryffindor’s begrudgingly Golden Seeker as she whistled about the pitch, a bludger in hot pursuit. The very sight caused his heart to jump out of his chest, and he couldn’t help but speed up his pace – only to be genuinely surprised by the clean and well-practiced dodge by Evelynn, her body flush against her broom as she dodged the assault.
On one hand, Rafael would like to say that he had regarded the movement in a professional light. However, there would be no amount of training on-or-off field to prepare him for the harsh feeling of enmity that washed through his insides. Or was it j- no, he hated her, why would he ever envy her sad, pathetic ass? A short, frustrated huff breezed past the Gryffindor’s lips. As much as he hated her guts, even he had to admit that her move was slightly badass. Slightly. Apparently she can fucking fly once in a blue moon. More reason to despise her, he supposed. Ah, well. It wouldn’t happen again, surely. He would shortly right himself on his path, eyes careful to follow Evelynn’s advance on the field. He’d stay on his and Eve’s premeditated mission and make sure Evelynn caught the snitch.

Position: First String Chaser
Stats: Stamina: 10 || Evasion: 4+1=5 || Strength: 9+1=10 || Wisdom: 9+1=10 || Arcane Power: 2 || Accuracy: 8 +2 = 10
Abilities:
INTERCEPTION
When a Quaffle is being passed, users with this ability automatically get a chance to Intercept the quaffle. This does not replace their normal action for the round. This put the quaffle in your and by extension you teams' possession.
Also, if the Quaffle is dropped for any reason, you would automatically (without it taking up an action) attempt another Quafflegrab. At present there would be no mid-round way to drop a quaffle due to the order of operations, however there will be certain effects in future patches that can cause this effect.
CATCH
Able to catch two falling players on your broom when playing Quidditch. These additional caught players would be brought to the ground safely and they would be allowed to retrieve their broom and enter play again the next round. This can be done every round as the player's action if they choose to do so.
With brooms that have the feature where an additional player may be caught (such as Bluebottle) where there is a stackable chance of failure with each additional person caught, there is no stacking failure chance for players with this ability.
Broom: Nimbus 1700 (+2 accuracy, +1 evasion, +1 wisdom, +1 strength)

Quidditch Game
────── ☆ ───────@Griseldis Edelhardt @Jorah Moussa
And then they were off - a rather cliché choice of words, but there really was no other way to describe. The teams kicked off and whizzed into the air. Scarlett's heart pounded. With adrenaline, obviously. It was slightly terrifying failing people and falling off from a towering height, but in all honesty, it was also rather exciting. She cast a final glance at Griseldis before the game began.
Scarlett focused on the team's decided strategy - backbeating one of the players. She was briefly aware of the fight between Alan and the blonde Ravenclaw Chaser, who managed to score two goals before Alan managed their first. But it wasn't really her main concern - what piqued her interest was the Bludger hurtling itself towards her. She smacked it towards the male Beater of Ravenclaw, and it hit him square in the chest. A grin couldn't be stifled. Even though he hadn't fallen, she had hit hadn't she? What was a surprise to the boy and Scarlett herself was the sight of Griseldis nailing him from behind. Scarlett winced slightly at the sight of him falling, but raised her eyesight back to Griseldis and grinned.
"Good job Gris!" called Scarlett, before returning her attention back to the game.Action Doing as Strategised

ReducioIn the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself).

Quidditch Game
When the game finally began, Griseldis shouted to her Beater partner beside her before taking off, "Let's go, Scarlett! It's Bludger time!!" Remembering their captain's strategy, their first target was to get rid of one of the Ravenclaw's Beaters, Jorah. Seeing the familiar boy again, although she knew that he might not be as intimidating as the notorious Snake, Erin, or the giant Badger, Quinn. However, the lioness wouldn't underestimate him because she knew he was still a talented Beater. She also hoped that this time, she could at least stay in the game longer than the last game against the Slytherin team. Getting hit and being knocked off from your own broom was never a pleasant experience for any Quidditch players.Interacting with @Scarlett Aden
Mentioning @Jorah Moussa
It was quite easy to find the male Ravenclaw Beater and luckily, he didn't notice the two female Gryffindor Beaters were going to target him with their fierce attacks. Griseldis first let Scarlett hit the Bludger right at Jorah, and it was a successful hit! Not giving Jorah enough time to recover from the sudden attack, she quickly flew behind him and hit the Bluger with full force without hesitation. Unfortunately for Jorah, it was already too late for him to evade in time. Yikes! Griseldis even winced while watching him being struck for the second time by her which caused him to be knocked off the broom, falling helplessly towards the ground. She knew how painful it would be since it happened to her a few times in the past.
Scarlett immediately complicated Griseldis, and she simply gave her a thumbs up with a wink. Couldn't help but smile proudly since she was feeling more confident than before. Now it wasn't the time to feel bad for their rival, they still need to continue their job as the Beaters of the lions.
