A Dress He Will Never See (Pt. II)
Aida stumbled into the hospital wing with glazed eyes and a blood-stained white dress, clearly disoriented as she walked a wobbly line.
"This place," uttered Aida, blinking repeatedly. Some dark shadow swam before her eyes and she ducked as if to dodge it, nearly falling over. Through her splitting headache Aida could only focus on one thing: finding an empty bed where she could put herself. Aiming at the nearest cot Aida angled out her left arm awkwardly as she tried to keep it out of the path of her inevitable collapse. Dropping down onto the bedsheets without being able to spare them from her bloody right hand and knees, the reason her left arm was outstretched became clear: the bone at her wrist was broken and poked out at a disturbing angle under her skin. The ringing in her ears went on and on but Aida was just glad that at last she could be horizontal.
Anyone with medical expertise could surely read Aida's symptoms easily even at a great distance: confusion and a loss of balance from a massive concussion, numerous abrasions, a laceration across her chin, and a broken wrist. She was so out of it, of course, that she had completely forgotten that the Hospital Wing was in part staffed by house elves (which would surely send her into a panic if spotted).
"This place is right?" moaned Aida. "Right?"
Open to interaction. Feel free to send in the house elves. ; )

A Dress He Will Never See (Pt. II)
Most of the time the work at Hogwarts was fairly straight-forward, perhaps even-- daresay-- boring. Other times, students came waltzing in out of nowhere, stumbling into the beds like they had just walked off a malfunctioning rollercoaster. Cases like that were occasionally a case of melodrama, but that didn't mean he wouldn't take it seriously when he saw it. Having been already standing and taking inventory, he set down his clipboard on the table beside the bed he was at to attend to the new patient.
The girl was mumbling to herself, not looking in one spot in particular. Her fall made it seem like she was unbalanced. Possible TBI. That was only part of it though-- she looked like she was put through a washing machine-- or at least took some kind of tumble. Her insanely pale skin made it easy to see bruises forming all down her side, not to mention how janked up her wrist was. These were all only going to get worse the longer they went untreated.
"Helloo~" Kels said in a sing-song voice, smiling down at her. He leaned over to get a good look at her eyes, hoping she wouldn't mind if he held the lid open for a moment to analyze the pupil dilation, and whether the two eyes matched. It looked like she had albinism, something he had yet to see in his career. How much did it effect things besides pigment? He made a promise to himself to delve into that bit of research ASAP. "Rest. Don't move or think any more than ye hafta."
Pulling his wand out from behind his ear, he pointed the tip at her wrist.
"Ferula." And with it, a splint and bandages would be conjured and wrap the wrist back into place snugly, a magical pain relief accompanying it.
There was a lot more than needed to be done. He could think of a few things right off the top of his noggin that would help. They were on the other side of the room though, and he couldn't summon things that were securely shut in cupboards. His face having mostly been awash with analytical concern post-smile, Kels grinned again, hoping she would be able to comprehend that she was safe now.
"Don't move a muscle, alright? I'll be right back!" He pat the side of her bed before turning around and going back to the nurse's station to rummage through his things.

A Dress He Will Never See (Pt. II)
Kayden lay on the bed, a deep gash on his arm, though magically not bleeding out.
He had his eyes closed when the girl stumbled in, resting.
He looked up from his rest and over at the girl, who was wearing a nice white dress that was stained with blood.
"What happened to you? You look terrible!"
He felt as if he had seen this girl wandering the halls before... she had a quiet disposition, and Kayden always maintained a certain amount of distance whenever their paths crossed. Kayden tried to get out of bed to help the girl, but his arm suddenly shot with pain.
He pulled himself up into a sitting position and looked at the nurse. He was a nice fellow, and one who knew how to treat any magical illness out there, but it was probably best for him to stay, this girl looked like she was going to drop any second.
He looked over at the nurse, who had already turned to walk away.
Kayden grabbed the girl's arm and motioned her towards a bed.
"You need to lay down. You look like you're about to fall over!"
He looked down at her dress again and wondered if the blood was hers, or someone else's...

A Dress He Will Never See (Pt. II)
As Kayden helped Aida to a cot, her nose crinkled and she seemed to be concentrating. She didn’t know the boy’s name and they had never formally met, but their paths had crossed in the castle before. Through the concussion her thoughts swam slowly, struggling as if pushing against ocean waves. A pang of fear lanced her stomach as Aida wondered if she actually knew this boy but had forgotten his name and everything about him.
Nurse Brumby seemed happy to accommodate the new patient and within moments had already set Aida’s broken wrist right back into place. As he inspected her eyes, an unusual violet blue, they quivered like scared children. At least the pupils were the same size.

As Kels moved away to the cupboards, Aida thought she had already thanked him when in fact no words had come out. Next Aida looked back at the Hufflepuff beside her. He seemed to have a kind gleam in his eye and continued to seem slightly familiar. The young albino witch was nothing if not observant, like many Ravenclaws, so despite the concussion she still noticed the deep gash on the boy’s arm. An instinctive force swelled inside her that made her want to treat it, like she had treated the wounds of so many animals back on the Highland ranch where she grew up. Yet, the gash seemed to not be bleeding out and it may have already been treated. For a moment Aida thought she could smell that old Morfran Griffith, the former Care of Magical Creatures professor, lurking about somewhere but it was merely a memory passing through her traumatized brain.
Air slipped through Aida’s lips briefly before words found their way out.
“I fell… off a… swing,” she answered, eyebrows knitting fiercely as she tried to understand why she didn’t remember what had happened to the injured Hufflepuff before her. Of course, she had just shown up and had no way of knowing the cause of Kayden’s gash, but through her concussion Aida assumed that she should already know. “Sorry, what happened to you again? Can I help?” As usual Aida was completely disregarding her own broken-down state the instant someone else seemed in need. Still, the terrible feeling that she might be forgetting something festered in the pit of her stomach.
“I'm sorry. I think I hit my head. Please tell me your names again..." she said, voice heavy with guilt.

A Dress He Will Never See (Pt. II)
Fell off a swing my butt.
Nobody falls off their swing and gets covered in blood.
She climbed into the bed, and Kayden helped her down.
"I'm Kayden Lind, first year."
He noticed the girl wasn't quite meeting his eyes whenever she talked.
"Sorry, what happened to you again? Can I help?"
He sighed.
"I was... climbing a tree, right that's it a tree. And I hopped down, but a branch caught my arm and tore it open."
He avoided meeting the girl's eyes, as well as Brumbys. He was nice in the fact that he didn't ask a lot of questions, but he treated people's wounds with compassion.
He instinctively touched the torn flesh, then winced.
Jumping back down into his bed, he pushed aside his pile of books.
"I'm sorry, I think I hit my head. Please tell me your names again..."
Kayden smiled, feeling a mix of pity and confusion.
"Sure. I'm Kayden Lind, and this is the school nurse, Mr. Brumbey."
She looked better now that she was laying down, but he felt it would be best if Mr. Brumbey stayed with her. He looked at the man expectantly, waiting for him to deliver treatment.
The girl looked like she would be gone any minute now.

A Dress He Will Never See (Pt. II)
Aida didn’t hear the first time Kayden introduced himself. She was lost in some spiral of thought about what had happened to him and why she couldn’t remember it. Still, the boy was kind enough to repeat his name for her and “explain” how he had gotten injured. Kayden may have been unaware that Aida regularly consorted with Slytherins, so perhaps he didn’t know that the girl had an unusually strong ability to know when someone was not telling the whole truth. One could even say that Aida had a “sixth sense” about things, but the way Kayden averted his eyes and inflected the words "right that's it a tree” seemed to be quite a blatant tell compared to the more practiced deceptions of her friend Alexander. Aida concluded Kayden was lying about the cause of his wound, but she did not trust that this would be a safe environment for Kayden if she were to try to oust the truth from him.
“I see… I hope you will tell me more about it sometime.” Like the Ravenclaw she was, Aida’s curiosity was already piqued by the boy’s evasion of what had really happened, but the girl was even more keen on figuring out what she may have forgotten about the boy and if they were already in fact good friends. With her wrist no longer causing her such excruciating pain as before, Aida was ready to lock onto unravelling what had happened and who these people were.
“Are things going well for you? What's happening in your life?" asked Aida in a perhaps unusually familiar tone. If Aida had simply forgotten about them being friends, she felt she had better try to make up for it. Though they had never formally met before, Aida simply couldn't trust her memory anymore and she figured she should just treat him as if he were an important friend regardless. She watched Kels from the corner of her eye, wondering if she could trust this seemingly kind grown-up and if she had met him before.

Aida knew he was lying, but thankfully, they didn't bring it up. He lay back down in his bed, a twinge going up his arm.
"Are things going well for you? What's happening in your life?"
That was an odd question. He looked at them, they had a blood-stained dress on, and Kayden wasn't exactly in tip-top shape either.
"Good..." He said mildly entertained by the fact that they were bringing up such talk in a situation like this. He considered asking Mr. Brumbey for some tea and scones to accompany this casual conversation.
"What... what happened to you?"
He hoped it didn't sound rude, but he knew it might have come across that way.
He promised himself that if she told him what happened to her, he would tell her what happened to him.
He looked at the girl intently, and rain began to pat on the windows. A rumble of thunder shook Kayden's bed slightly. There must be a mighty storm coming. The wind rustled the trees outside, and Kayden waited for the girl's answer, though he knew it was possible they might not give it.
Not many people trust first years, even if they were able to handle things well.

A Dress He Will Never See (Pt. II)
How many rumors had spread about the young albino mage? It probably was relatively restricted knowledge that Aida was a compulsive truth-teller, having to stay quiet while someone else did the lying. That was as deceitful as it got for Aida: staying silent, or saying truths but omitting more elaborate details, but even that could be unbearable… especially when someone was clearly digging for the truth… and it was clear that Kayden was not satisfied with the line about falling off a swing. Yet, there was a grown-up in the room and Aida had developed a profound distrust for adults. This one, Nurse Brumbey, didn’t seem so bad… but perhaps this grown-up was just better than others at concealing his true nature. Still, Aida’s arm was well on its way to mending now, and while the concussion was still oppressive, the hand felt a lot better. Maybe speaking in the presence of the nurse wouldn’t cause terrible consequences, thought Aida. But then, it happened.
A house elf carrying medical supplies, presumably for restocking inventory, appeared around the corner. Aida’s eye was drawn to its movement automatically but the panic set in after Aida’s hyperosmic nose recalled the traumatic memories of the Kitchen Incident. That thing smelled like a house elf, smelled like that terrible day. Aida instinctively reached behind for a wand but… it wasn’t there. That old black mayhaw stick– it was gone. Perhaps it had been dropped where Aida had gotten injured. In any case, there was no way to blast away the house elf if it came close.
“Meet me at the Great Lake!” cried Aida to Kayden in a terrified voice. Adrenaline forced coordination back into the still severely concussed albino, who flew out the door without looking back.

A Dress He Will Never See (Pt. II)
When Kels went to go get some of the pain-easing paste that he most liked to use for such occasions, he let the kid who had been nearby keep her company. He didn't exactly want the girl to feel like he had to talk more-- she was certainly only going to get more confused and possibly even hurt her head in the process of trying to... process. Either way, he only expected to be gone for a second. Down the wing at the nurse's station he just had to go to the spot where the Butterfly Weed Balm was that he had mixed himself earlier in the week. It was already an incredibly useful mixture, but he had really perfected it. This was part of the reason he paused for a moment, however. He didn't know whether albinism had any kind of physical effect on the skin-- would this mixture be perhaps too potent? Would the skin absorption be different than he expected? Should he try to make a new mixture after reading into it a bit? The possibilities had him staring at the jar his concoction was in a bit too long, only drawn back to attention from a sudden shriek.
Looking up, he was shocked to see the girl fleeing the scene. Oh snap! That was incredibly bad. Super, crazy bad. This girl probably had a concussion, running around was the opposite of what she should be doing. He should never have let some rando kid watch over her, he shouldn't have stepped away. Regardless, he would run off chasing after her, despite whatever the other kid ended up doing. The chance that he would catch up to a spry 13-year-old was, however, very slim.
