Are parents allowed to pull our characters out of school temporarily?

I don't think you can be pulled out during term time, no (I'll have to double check this) but you can go home during the holidays, of course.

Saying there was a particular reason like a family member in hospital? On one weekend?

If you have a specific idea that you want to check, it's best to DM /owl a staff member with that full idea so we can give you more information on whether it's okay or not // work with you on how it might be tweaked to work, if that's an option.

Remember: the Hogwarts Express only makes this journey a few times a year to Hogsmeade not even the school proper. From there you are carted on wagons driven by Thestrals to the gates. First years would cross the lake then in boats while the rest made the journey on foot.

Removing (and returning) a student mid term is not a simple or a casual process.

Students often claim they were pulled when they deactivate.

Can't the parents apparate to hogsmeade to get them if they've owled the headmaster about getting their child?

You cannot apparate onto school grounds.

As for hogsmeade, I am not familiar enough with the specifics of the requirements
But I do know that you cannot use npcs to give your character access to skillsets that they do not normally have access to. So if it is being used to rp that you sent mid semester a week in Rome for instance, this would be an example of what cannot be done. Not saying you are trying to do this, just explaining the notion.

But again for the sake of facilitating a player removing their character from the community as they are deactivated, the staff does endeavor to make concessions.

OOC, please remember that we also have to be fair to other players. We can't allow this because hogsmeade is a magical village. Which means it's only accessible to magical folk IC. Muggleborns, therefore, would never have this option. It's unfair on that entire group of players.
