Opeila was in a good mood. The past days had been quite fine, Opeila even managed to get eight full hours of sleep in the last night, without waking up once. That was a great development. Maybe it had something to do with the errand she had participated in yesterday. It was fun building up a fire place to resist a blizzard. Especially if one didn't do it alone, Opeila had two of her housemates, Flash and Dan, as well as a Hufflepuff, Kazuo, with her.
The young Slytherin had worries piling up, but for those few hours, she had been able to drop them and it had been wonderful. For a moment she even thought that she could go back to being the little girl she had been in her first year. If she thought back now, it felt like looking back to the life of a stranger.
Opeila used to try and bring the Slytherins together, to strengthen the bond within the house of snakes. She lost that goal completely by now. It seemed so unimportant.
The second year was on her way to the Great Hall to have lunch, trying to squeeze herself through a crowded corridor. This was one of the reasons why Opeila couldn't wait to become a fifth or sixth year. Then she would be one of the taller ones in the corridor, currently she was a child, trying to look through a wall of dark cloaks. Normally she didn't mind being short, but in a moment like this, it was just so annoying.
Making her way through the crowd, a face caught her attention. It was a faintly familiar face. Opeila had seen the owner before, a Ravenclaw girl. She had been the first shouting along with Howard's battle cries, which allowed Opeila to notice the for dhampirs typical missing canines. The Slytherin didn't know this girl and for some reason she was not sure if she even had an idea what she had shouted for in the Great Hall. Did Howard?
Did the two fourth years spend more than one short thought on it? Opeila had no reason to expect something from Howard. But she would have thought that he, of all people, would see that Hogwarts couldn't afford opposing fronts inside its walls. Not with the threats from the outside still there.
It was not the time to take revenge on T.Ruth.
Opeila pushed through the crowd to reach the girl before she was out of sight. "H- Hey! Hello, excuse me? You, er, Ravenclaw!", she called out, hoping to catch her attention. If the girl turned around, Opeila would catch up with her. "Hi, sorry, my name is Opeila Winters. Do you have a moment? Sorry, if this is weird, but I would really appreciate if we could talk.", she told the girl, feeling rather awkward.

@Opeila WintersValencia was still at unease, the constant reminder that half the student body was against Dhampirs and half-breeds as a whole weighing on her shoulders. It never occurred to her how dangerous people made them out to be, taking the word of some cowardly anonymous author rather than listening to the voices that actually mattered. She supposed the way Howard and Falentra carried themselves into that situation wasn't the best move reputation-wise, but it still got the message across. What kind of message, though? The one they were trying to convey, that Dhampirs deserve just as much respect as any other witch or wizard? Or that they really were temperamental, crazed lunatics? Not saying that was how she viewed Howard, but some students could definitely get the wrong idea.
She kept her head down in the corridors, something that was unnatural for the usually confident red-head. Her eyes traced the tiles as she walked, feet kept in perfect time as she sped up her pace. Freedom of the press.. She mumbled under her breath, the entire concept of that article being considered "freedom of speech" complete and utter bullshit. Were their intentions set on driving a wedge through everyone?
The mindless trance Valencia seemed to be trapped in was immediately broken by a random female's voice, the girl's green eyes meeting the Dhampir's grey hues. For a moment she froze, breath hitched as she recognized the girl from the Great Hall that day. Duh, who wasn't there, you daft idiot? But still, she had no reason to talk to the Slytherin, especially when the two had nothing in common and no connection to each other. Perhaps her paranoia was just getting the best of her, though.
Valencia tilted her head to the side, auburn tresses falling in the same direction. "Ya wanna talk right now?" Questioned the Ravenclaw, not particularly enthused with where this was leading. There were limited topics that would require someone to seek out Valencia, most of which that wouldn't end up pleasantly. She nodded anyway, lips pursed before she spoke again. "Alright, yeh, that's fine. You wanna go somewhere private, or?"
Dive down deep into her sound.

Thank god, the redhaired girl heard her and turned around, Opeila would not have to run after her through the whole school. The Slytherin immediately noticed something about the girl. One- She could have sworn that the first year froze for a moment when she looked at Opeila. No doubt that she recognized her, though Opeila had not really given anyone a reason to look at her. She had kept her head low on that evening, for a good reason. Two- The girl cut out on introduction and instead asked Opeila if she wanted to talk right now and where.
The Slytherin could almost smell the paranoia that she was so familiar with as well. Her whole first year she had been walking through those halls, convinced that she had a target on her back. And had that changed so much? If anything, Opeila had even more secrets, more topics to dance around now.
And this Ravenclaw had every reason to feel threatened.
"Now would be good, yeah. There is an empty classroom near.", she told her. This classroom had totally become the place for weird conversations to Opeila. First Howard went there with her to talk about the dark curse inside her, a few weeks after she had taken Marshal here and now this girl. Well. At least it provided privacy and more so than the abandoned bathroom did for example, although one might have thought differently. Opeila waited a few moments until the corridor was a little less crowded before she crossed it and walked towards a door. It was open and empty like always really. She would hold the door open for the Ravenclaw girl and close it behind them if she entered.
"I think you already know what I want to talk to you about. You were there on the night that Howard and Falentra caused chaos." Like they could have found a worse moment... year. Opeila walked over to one of the tables and leaned against the edge with her backside. "I am worried. Do you know what happened in Hogwarts the last months?" It was not even that long since the last incidence. Barely more than a week the Hogwarts Express had been attacked by cowboys. Opeila had been taken hostage, the slowly fading bruises and cuts on her face still told the story of that day.
"The Headliner screwed up. And Howard and Falentra let their anger get the best of their common sense. We can't afford to be divided inside of Hogwarts, not now."
