Empty Seat
Rosalie glanced around at the seats before her.
She found an empty compartment, walking towards it. She overheard the chatter coming around the train and shivered. She knew that was a good sound, but it was much too loud.
She chose a seat and sat down, looking around.
She heard the whistle of the train again. It was quite soothing. She looked out the window to see her mother waving at her from outside. She smiled widely as she waved back.
"DON'T FORGET TO MAKE FRIENDS!" her mother hollered loudly.
Rosalie sunk into her seat. Friends? She was always so bad at making them.
Plus, the only friend she had was her brother.
Her mind began to swirl as she remembered seeing other children in their compartments sitting together and laughing.
A pit in her stomach dropped. No-one was going to sit with her, were they? In an empty compartment with a strange girl was probably where none of these people wanted to sit. Right now, they were probably thinking, "Thank Merlin I didn't sit with that Rosalie Forster. She's much too strange, she is."
Nonetheless, she smoothed down her seat and pulled her hood up, waiting patiently.
Someone had to come eventually, right..?

Empty Seat
Spencer waved goodbye to her mother as she boarded the noisy train. She wished she had someone, anyone, to sit with her and tell her that she would be okay. She was the eldest, so she didn't have anyone.
Christ almighty, why are there so many darn people here? she mumbled.
She pushed through the crowded train, searching for a quiet compartment. She finally spotted one, quieter than those around it. She approached it, hoping to be alone, or maybe make a friend. Through the glass, she saw a pretty girl, all alone.
No one should have to sit alone, she thought before she stepped into the room.
Hello there. Mind if I sit with you?
Not waiting for an answer from the girl, she sat down across from her and stuck out a hand.
Spencer. Spencer MacTavish. Nice to meet you, dearie. Sorry to intrude on your solo compartment like this, but you looked like you could maybe use a friend.
She smiled, before realising it probably sounded like pity.
Well, lucky for us both, I could use a friend too.
She laughed lightly and flushed pink, hoping she hadn't scared the girl or rambled too much.
So...what's your name?

Empty Seat
Rosalie looked around at the two and their extended hands, a bit overwhelmed.
She shook Queenie's hand, shaking it and placing it back at her sides. She turned to Spencer.
"Oh. Er, Rosalie," she said quietly. "Rosalie Forster."
She shook Spencer's hand lightly and pulled back, retreating her hand to her side.
Rosalie glanced around at the compartment, tugging anxiously at a strand of her hair. She heard instant chatter in the other compartments and resisted a sigh.
She faced Spencer.
"I think it was Oscar Wilde who said that ultimately, the bond of companionship is conversation." She paused. "He's a muggle poet," she explained.
What was she doing? She never made small talk.
"...Do any of you have pets? I wish we could've brought one with us."
She scolded herself internally as she waited for a response from any of the two. If Quibley was int eh compartment with them, he would've died from laughter.
Suddenly, her stomach rumbled loudly, interrupting her train of thought. She flushed pink, embarrassed.
"Er... do any of you happen to have any food with you? I've missed breakfast," she said to the pair. She lowered her hood ever so slightly to reveal her hazel eyes and auburn hair.
