Deja Vu
@Jennifer King
Whenever Kayden needed to clear his head, he went down to the rehearsal room. He would look into his binder for monologues he had written down, then go and perform them with as much passion as he could muster.
That was how he expressed himself. Early in the morning, he opened his folder and rifled through the list of monologues. He skipped over the comedy section, he wasn't feeling that today. Finally, he grabbed one of an expression of love, from Romeo And Juliet.
He began walking down, the cold, crisp castle air made him pull his coat tighter, as he walked down a flight of stairs, reaching the bottom. He pushed open the doors of the rehearsal room and walked over to the stage.
He took a deep breath and envisioned himself in the mind of the character. Then he spoke. The monologue was eloquently written, Romeo letting out his feelings that he had bundled up. Sometimes that was how Kayden felt.
He roamed the stage, completely engrossed in what he was saying, not just speaking it, but living it. He let his own emotions become part of the performance. He ended and looked upon the seats, which he thought was empty.

Deja Vu
Jenny was playing her violin in the rehearsal room when she opened her eyes. Someone was coming. She placed her violin in its case, hoping they didn't hear and decide to come in. That would mean a conversation. She sighed as the door opened but instantly smiled as she saw who it was. It was Kayden! From the train! He was a bit cute...
She sat in a front row chair as he seemed occupied. He began to put on a play of Romeo and Juliet, one of Jenny's favorite lessons at homeschool. She watched as emotion radiated from the stage. She took out her violin once more before playing it quietly at the saddest part, she thought it needed it. When he was finished, she slowly clapped and raised her eyebrows. "Bravo, Mr. Lind. That was actually... beautiful." Jenny nodded and leaned on the edge of the stage. "Unfortunately I don't have roses to throw at your feet, so shall I get some?" She joked with a playful smile.
She hasn't seen him sense the train and maybe a few times in the hall but that was it. "But really, long to no see. How have you been? I haven't seen you!"

Deja Vu
He finished, and the sound of a single pair of hands clapping filled the room. He looked around, embarrassed and confused both at the same time. Sitting down in one of the near back rows, violin in hand was Jennifer King, the girl from the train. She was very beautiful, and this flustered Kayden even more.
"Unfortunately I don't have any roses to throw at your feet, so shall I go get some?"
Kayden laughed slightly, still feeling minorly awkward.
"I mean, I sort of prefer daisies, but whatever."
He hopped down from the stage and sat on its brink. "I'm doing really good actually. I've been adjusting to life at Hogwarts, it's a lot different than being with muggles. "
Hopping off the brink, he sat in the auditorium seat across to Jennifer. Straightening his jacket, he leaned back in his chair. "What about you? It was pretty awkward on that train not gonna lie, that Rhea girl must've really hated you."
He hoped this was still a viable topic of conversation. He also remembered himself acting like a fool in front of her whenever something needed to get done. He didn;t really feel the need to impress her, but it would be nice not to have her thinking he's an idiot.

Deja Vu
"Oh, Daisys you say?" She raised an eyebrow. She smiled. "Well, here at Hogwarts, there's actual magic. A lot better than anything muggles may offer, isn't it." She could care less if he was related to muggles; he was cute, nice, and a half blood so it was all good. "I'm doing great. Yeah, the train ride was... yeah. I expected to ride alone but guess not. That Rhea girl really does not like me. I don't like her either."
She looked at Kayden. "So, enjoying your classes? I am, sort of. I most look forward to my alone time to practice my violin." She lifted up the violin in her hand as she mentioned it. "I enjoy it. But you were really good up there, huh? How long have you been acting? That was amazing! I've never felt so much emotion from Romeo and Juliet and you did it alone!" Jenny knew the script by heart, her mother had her memorize it for homework one day. Her mother was the type of person who thought Romeo and Juliet was a good book to read on your free time.
But she could not believe how amazing Kayden did. She was beyond in awe.

Deja Vu
The flattery was nice, but ego was one thing Kayden did not possess.
"Alright, alright thank you, thank you, but the shows over people. Come by tomorrow."
He smiled. "I've been acting for most of my life. Since I was three in fact." He shifted gears. "But enough about me, I thought I was making up the violin in my head, but that was really good! I always wanted to learn an instrument, but it's too hard for me to understand all the sheet music. I did, however, have a killer hot cross buns performance on piano at one point."
While he knew the girl was a Slytherin, it didn't matter much to him. As a Hufflepuff, it was his civic duty to become friends with anyone, no matter what house they are in, or what they believe.
"So what do you enjoy doing for fun?"
Most of the residual awkwardness he had before had left, and he was able to have a conversation without tripping over his words like an idiot.
He began noticing the flirtatious manner in which she spoke, but then he realized that was probably how she talked to everyone.
Or at least, he hoped not.

Deja Vu
"Ah, three. Young man, you are very talented. The only acting I did at that age was pretending to cry when my sister wouldn't let me play the princess in our games. Worked everytime. " She laughed. She couldn't help but notice she liked Kayden's smile...
"Thanks! I love violin so much. I've been playing since I was 7! Not as impressive as 3..." She laughed again. " 'Killer' ". "I could teach you violin... but then I wouldn't be special anymore." She smiled. She couldn't stop!
"Besides violin, I like to watch snakes. Stare at all the green, and socialize."
Did Kayden like her too? Please let that answer be yes.
"So, um, do you want to go grab some lunch and eat outside or something with me?" If he wouldn't make the first move she would. That's what her mother taught her. She hoped he would say yes, that would be humiliating if he didn't and it would leave her sad. She liked Kayden.
A lot. She took out her violin and began to play. "Now I owe you a performance." She closed her eyes with a smile and played a quick song, one that held much emotion. This was a special song, she was working on it for her grandfather.

Deja Vu
This wasn't how it was supposed to go! The guy was supposed to ask the girl. He felt a lack of bravery at that moment, like his stomach, had dropped out from under him. Before he could answer, she began playing the violin. It was slightly distracting, he was trying to focus on her question. He watched her as she played, her eyes closed in concentration.
She was beautiful. Very beautiful. He felt very happy watching her, and all a sudden he realized the answer to her question. "Yes. Lunch tomorrow. We can bring a picnic out on the grounds, by the lake. Meet me there tomorrow."
He got up and straightened his jacket. "This was nice. That performance was great. I-I 'll see you tomorrow. Bye... Jenny."
He walked out, down the halls, and back to his room. That was something he would not soon forget.
He really liked her. He already began planning in his mind what he was going to do tomorrow.
Kaydens feelings for Jenny have begun to develop. He's not sure what he thinks about her beliefs and house, but he likes her as a person. He prayed anxiously for it to tomorrow to go better.
