The Beginning of Something New
Percival could not deny that he felt somewhat stressed. It would be the very first meeting of the Outdoors Club. The club had started out as a passing idea. Something he thought would be fun, and would be nice to participate in. The more he thought about it the more he wanted it. Wishful thinking gave way to more critical thoughts. What better way to get something you want by doing it yourself? So that's just what he did.
The boy laid out another large blanket onto the grass. One was a deep rich red while the other was a dark green. They would be needing a place to sit after all, and he highly doubted anyone would want to sit on the grass. There were two blankets in total mostly because he wasn't too sure how many people would actually be showing up. The boy hadn't really done much in the way of advertising the club. Instead, he had drawn up a poster before attaching it to the bulletin board.
Percival was still somewhat glad Miller had decided to help him with his club. The boy had mostly been in charge of the snacks. He had been the one who came up with the idea to sneak some treacle tarts out of the Great Hall. A rather simple way to solve the problem of what they would eat. Though, Percival had also brought some of his candy stash to the meeting. Sherbet lemons, acid pops, and even exploding bonbons were now proudly displayed on the blankets. Percival nodded to himself as he surveyed everything once more. Opening up a pocket watch he was glad to see he had finished on time. People should be showing up at any moment. Percival sat down on the blanket and popped a sherbet lemon into his mouth. With any luck, Miller would show up before anyone else did. With a faint smile on his face as he waited.

So Mic and Percy didn't have the best record. So he's seen Percy's lighter more times than he's spoken to his family. Big deal. Mic knew for a fact, Percy was someone to fight for. Even if he's fighting Percy himself.
So Michael did something that could arguably be called stupid. He sighed up for Percys outside club the second Percy stepped away from the sign up parchment paper. You really couldn't blame Mic, he was 11, well 11 and 8 months.
The boy in question was using water to style his hair, something he had done only once before. He was sitting on a stool infront of the mirror that was leaning against the wall in his dorm, his legs dangling a couple inches off the floor. He thought he looked nice. He jumped off the stool and grabbed his coat, not actually his though. He had taken it from Earl a couple days beforehand.
Michael hummed as he walked outside, looking for Percy. He smiled as he saw him, walking over and putting something down on the blanket. A plate wrapped in napkins. "I got some apple tarts, because i didn't know if the pumpkin ones were the best for every one" he said as he sat down, a little close to the other boy.
He could have sworn the boy had a smile on his lips when he first spotted him.

The Beginning of Something New
Kara was walking towards the place where she was told to go for the first ever meeting of the Outdoors Club.
Kara was one of the last to sign up, and I think she was! However, when Kara first saw the form, she was pretty excited to have other people who like the outdoors as much as her, so it wasn't that difficult to get her to sign up. Give yourself a pat on the back Percy, you succeeded!
As for what she was wearing, it was quite simple. She knew it was outside, of course, so she tried to stay warm. She had worn a grey sweatshirt that may or may not have been stolen from Cassie, hence why it was a little big on her. She also just some simple green cargo pants with her iconic muddy white sneakers. Note for future reference, don't ever give her anything white, she will completely mess it up.
When the brown eyed girl arrived, there were only two people there, and both were the leaders of the camp, even though Percival was specifically the founder. Kara knew Percival from Hanako, a good friend of hers, and she of course knew him from her first year Blossom Ball...but we don't talk about that. Michael Miller was the other, and Kara didn't know much of him, other than mentions from her partner, Cassie, since those two were in another club together.
She approached the two, giving a small wave. She saw two blankets put down, and of course, food, which made Kara hungry. When she came up to the two, she smiled softly
"Hey there Percival, Michael. It looks nice here, thanks for letting me come!" She looked around, there would be some good opportunities for some good photos, hence the camera hanging around her neck.
"Also, can I call you Percy?" She turned her head to Percival "I had called you that name in our first year, and I did it unknowingly of whether you liked it or not, so do you mind it?"

It was becoming apparent to the Slytherin that she was once again putting herself outside of her comfort zone. Of course, if anyone was to look at her, they’d have no idea of the anxiety bubbling away within her - years of perfectly practised nonchalance and her formidable ability to hide her emotions coming into play.
In her first year, she’d steered clear of any and all group activities. She’d preferred it that way, avoiding others at all costs, protecting herself from betrayal and heartache she knew would come if she let anyone close enough. It had left her with very few friends, plenty of acquaintances, but less than a handful of friends. Even then, there had been no one she truly trusted, her walls too high to allow anyone close. She blamed her father and his way of thinking of the world. She blamed her mother and brother for leaving her when she needed them most. But worst of all, she’d blamed herself for letting the fear of hurt and betrayal rule her life. She’d always been happy being alone, finding a type of solace in her own company which no one else had ever managed to offer her. But the loneliness had slowly started to creep in, and she’d snapped over her Christmas break, realising just how lonely she was. So, she’d vowed to throw herself into every situation she could this year.
And so far, nothing awful had happened. She’d joined a dance club and managed to enjoy herself in a way she’d not for years. She’d attended Michael’s PURE meeting at the start of the year, which despite its few hiccups, had been fun. And now she was here, back in the outdoor club area, a small smile - which always seemed to hover the line of smirk - gracing her lips as she approached the few members already there.
A quip about entering the snakes den danced through her head as she realised only Slytherin’s were currently present, but she thought it best to leave her smart mouth out of it. At least for now. Instead, she tried a hopefully friendly greeting. “Hi Mic,” She smiled at the younger boy who she reached first, waiting until Kara had finished talking to Percival before also greeting her fellow Slytherins too, "Percy, Kara."
She fought the urge to pull her new jacket tighter around herself, taking comfort in the present her aunt had gifted her for her birthday just a few days before. It was a habit she was trying to break, crossing her arms in both an attempt to protect herself and appear stronger to anyone looking at her. She just about managed to keep her arms at her sides.
“This looks cosy,” She said, hoping her comment was taken for the compliment it was, not sarcastically as she knew her voice often came across as. It was yet again, something else she was working on.

The Beginning of Something New
@Percival Rainwood | @Michael Miller | @Kara Capricorn | @Sarah Lightwood 6 February, 2021Gia quickly put on her coat and pulled a hat down over her ears, getting ready to face the chilly day outside. It was the beginning of February, and this meant that the temperature was still cold. Very cold, on some days. A little bit ago, it had snowed! Not that she was complaining or anything. . . Gia loved snow. Yeah, she just enjoyed being outdoors in general. That was why she had signed up for the Hogwarts Outdoors club as soon as she saw the notice. There were a few others that had signed up before her, but she hadn't recognized any of them. Sure, she'd skimmed the list very briefly, but still.
That fact didn't matter all too much to the Gryffindor, however, since she was always open to meeting new people. Being part of this club would be even better than just meeting someone randomly in the halls or during classes though, since they all liked the outdoors just as she did. Or at least, that's what the first year was assuming. Gia couldn't think of a single reason why someone would join if they didn't like the outdoors, for it just wouldn't make sense. She shrugged to herself, pushing open the large set of double doors that led outside, breathing in deeply.
The scent of snow still lingered in the air, and small clumps of the freezing white powder dusted the steps lightly. Classes had ended a while ago, so there weren't many people on the grounds. This made it quite easy for Gia to spot the small cluster of people - of course, the fact that she also knew the location did help a bit. Smiling brightly, the eleven year old skipped over. When she arrived, Gia waved at the people already there. "Hello!" she said cheerfully. "I like the color of your hair," the first year added, looking at the girl with green hair.
From the way the others were acting, Gia guessed that they all knew each other from some other time beforehand. Forgetting to introduce herself at first, the girl glanced around at the set up, admiring how nice it looked. Her gaze landed on the sweets, but just then she remembered that she hadn't even told the others who she was. "Oh! I'm Gia Adelard," she said with a smile at the other four students, and added, "First year, Gryffindor." Over the past couple months at Hogwarts, she'd realized that that was how most students introduced themselves and had made a note to herself reminding her to do the same whenever she needed to tell someone who she was. Gia then waited for the others to introduce themselves.445 words

The Beginning of Something New
Well, today was the day she would venture out to the Outdoors Club. She had almost missed the poster when she had first seen it because it had been a little drowned out by the other more colorful fliers. Maybe, though, that was why it caught her eye more because it was not as exciting as the others. Regardless, this put together two things that benefitted her. Being outside and probably with her camera and actually socializing, that wasn’t just about duelling.Interacting| Everyone

Santario made her way to the location stated dressed in pretty typical attire for the young Slytherin when not practicing or in her school robes. Instead of a plain heather grey t-shirt, she chose her weapon of choice shirt with the camera on it. Scuffed up jeans, which had seen many rips and tears from climbing and crawling into spaces to get good photographs. Her grey converse donned her feet, and her brown leather jacket topped it all off with her camera bag by her side. Usually, her hair was allowed to cascade down her back in soft waves, but today it would be twisted into a bun by a green helix hair fork.
As she approached, she noted that there were four other people already there, not including Percival… Percival something or other. There were too many Percivals, Percs, Percies, and what other combination masculine or feminine that could be thought of. The one thing she did remember was that he was not the Percival that had pissed her off during the blossom ball last year, and that was what mattered. When she was close enough, to would give everyone a slight smile as she set her camera bag down on the corner of the red blanket. “Hello everyone!” Santario’s silvery voice would be warmer than expected and certainly warmer than any of them probably would have heard from her before, especially if they ever watched the duels. The Slytherins could easily recognize her from the common room, typically reading or taking pictures of the great lake's flora and fauna. Anyone else could remember her as the girl with the camera at just about any significant event that typically didn’t involve dying that happened at Hogwarts. So not many of them.

The Beginning of Something New
Percival looked at the plate still covered in napkins. Nodding his head in agreement to the choices the boy had picked. Apple could be considered a rather safe flavor compared to that of the pumpkin one. Percival glanced towards Miller as the other sat down...a tad too close to him. He would have commented on it if a grey sweatshirt hadn't come into his peripheral view. The boy turned his head to look towards a familiar form. His eyes widened slightly as he realized just how he knew the girl. It was the girl from the Blossom Ball. The one who had been flirting with Hanako. The Blossom Ball had been a mess from start to finish. He himself barely escaping the smoke without getting caught. Now that he thought about it, he wondered if she was ever able to get out. Doubt crossed his mind as he wondered if he should have tried to help her. Though, she seemed fine enough so he highly doubted she was that badly injured. "Now that I think about it I believe you did. I don't mind. Thanks for joining us." he said giving the girl a smile.| Outfit |
The boy glanced away from Kara towards a new arrival. Green hair instantly jumped out at him, and he could not help but be reminded of a certain green-haired boy. Percival smiled up at the still-standing girl. For the life of him, he found he could not recall the girl's name. "Hi, welcome there's plenty of seats to take up. I believe we met earlier at Miller's ball." he asked. Percival for the life of him could not remember her name. The ball had been a whirlwind of tension, colors, and drama. He wasn't too surprised a few names had slipped through the cracks. It was rather possible he had never even gone up to the girl at all. Though he wasn't too sure either way.
Percival looked towards a younger-looking girl as she made her way over. Inwardly, he guessed that she was from another house. Judging on the fact that he could not recognize her at all. The boy would soon be proven correct as the girl introduced herself to the group. Out of everyone there, she seemed to be the only one he was not acquainted with. "Nice to meet you Adelard." he said politely.
He smiled at the Slytherin girl who walked over to the group. The boy didn't know her specifically, but with the number of times he had seen her in the common room. It was quite clear that the girl was a Slytherin through and through. It appeared that the girl had also brought a camera with her, and he couldn't help but be curious about the muggle instrument. The boy had seen cameras here and there, but he had never used one. They kind of reminded him of a black box with a glass hole. Strange contraptions that had quite interesting science behind them. "Hello welcome." he greeted back to the dark-haired girl. "Alright it appears like this is everyone for now. As stated in the flyer this club is for connecting with others in the outdoors. Today's activity we will be watching the sun set. Which will....be...in about five or so minutes. You can all take a seat where you would like, and help yourself to the snacks. If everyone wants to go around and introduce themselves. I shall start. My name is Percival Rainwood. I am a second-year Slytherin, and thank you for coming to my club." he explained with a smile on his face. After he finished, the boy let someone else introduce themselves.

Kara stuffed her hands in her pockets, looking around. The sun was almost setting, slightly hidden behind the castle that she now called her home, Hogwarts. She was just waiting for a reply at the moment, and she was eventually given one, by Percival Rainwood.
"Now that I think about it I believe you did. I don't mind. Thanks for joining us." He said with a small smile.
"Oh, that's good. Thank, and your welcome. I'm quite excited to see other people here too. I had signed up quite late, so I know that a ew more people should be coming." Kara turned her gaze back towards Hogwarts, scratching her head a little before dropping her hand.
The sky as of now was a dark shade of blue with streaks of orange and red as the sun slowly drifted along the horizon. Hogwarts had large towers of cobblestone with the light peeking through, and she turned from the brightness so she could not have so many spots in her eyes.
Not before long, another person showed up, and this said person had vibrant green hair and was decked out in a leather jacket. Kara seemed to know a lot of people with dyed hair it seems...
“Hi Mic, Percy, Kara." The girl said.
Kara gave a small two fingered salute off her head as a greeting. It was simple, but she almost always did it with people, whether she knew them or not. She recognized the girl, her name was Sarah, at least she thought it was. Let's just hope Kara was right.
After Sarah had showed up, another kid came along, but this was one she didn't know at all. They walked into view better, and then the came into the group. The girl had started talking with Sarah before turning to the rest of them.
"Oh! I'm Gia Adelard, first year, Gryffindor." Gia said to them all.
"Nice to meet you Adelard." Percy had been the first to say something else.
"Yeah, same here Gia." Kara did her little two fingered salute to the brunette Gryffindor.
Finally, another girl had showed up, and this one she had been wanting to talk to for a while, since she had a camera, and Kara actually really liked photography as well.
“Hello everyone!” She said, her voice silky and smooth.
Santario was the girl's name, and she was quite popular in the Slytherin House, because she was the Dueling Club Co-Captain for the Slytherin team. Kara didn't know much about the Dueling Club, so she didn't associate herself with it much.
"Hey there Santario. I noticed you brought a camera. I really like photography as well, but I didn't bring it, so maybe we can meet up sometime and take photos together!" Kara smiled at the ravenette.
I am a second-year Slytherin, and thank you for coming to my club." Percy then gestured to the small crowd, letting other people introduce themselves, so Kara decided to go stand beside the red blanket.
"Hello everyone. I am Kara Capricorn, a second year Slytherin. I'm looking forward to talking with you all more and becoming friends with you in the future!" With that, she sat down on the blanket taking a plate and fork with some treacle tart, taking a few bites while other people introduced themselves.

The Beginning of Something New
As Percival greeted her in kind, she removed her camera from her bag, not sitting down just yet. No, some pictures would need to be acquired first before losing all the light she would have. Photography had been a hobby since San could hold a camera in her hands passed down to her from her father. He had been a muggle author writing horror, mystery, and suspense. He helped continue to hide their kind and the unique races in the land by perpetuating the stereotypes that humans already thought, minus all of them being horrible beings. Because of his being one foot in the muggle world because of his profession, he had learned about some muggle instruments, and one of them that he took a shine to was the camera.Interacting| @Kara Capricorn | @Percival Rainwood | @Michael Miller | @Gia Adelard | @Sarah Lightwood

A voice she did not really recognize addressed her, and she looked up to see a girl in a grey sweater. She vaguely knew her as a Slytherin in her year they had classes together and had probably seen each other in the common room, but given San’s previous nature of keeping to herself and usually not liking most of the people from her own house, she never would have gone out of her way to socialize before. Which lead to her slight internal panic of trying to remember the girl’s name. “Sure, I wouldn’t mind that at all.” Not that she really knew if she would mind at all or not, but there was only one way to find out. “I took so many photographs last year; this year has been a bit slower. Haven’t been making it out to as many quidditch games as I used to.” She shrugged a little, standing up straight with her camera in hand, wrapping the red band that would usually go around your neck around her right forearm instead.
Then Percival spoke up, introducing himself and asking that they do the same. This was where she would get lucky as the girl next to her introduced herself as Kara before sitting down. This time Santario would remember. “Suppose I’ll go next. I am Santario Martin, a second-year Slytherin. Most people recognize me now as one of the captains of the Slytherin duelling team. Others might know me more from taking your photograph at quidditch games, the infamous blossom ball last year, and other random Hogwarts events.” Instead of sitting down, her camera would go to her face and with a few *clicks* she would snap some candid shots of those already there.

@Percival Rainwood @Michael Miller @Kara Capricorn @Sarah Lightwood @Gia Adelard @Santario MartinGabriella was late. She couldn't believe it - all the excitement of signing up, and she had still forgotten. Hopefully, she wouldn't miss too much...
She decided she wanted to run down to the Outdoor Club Area. Back in the Muggle world, at primary school, she had always come first in races and at Sports Day, but despite the enormous grounds, Gabby hadn't really done much running at Hogwarts. She had written to her mother and told her this, and her mother had told her off, so now the Ravenclaw was determined to get more exercise. So, she had joined the Outdoors Club. Not that she had stated that on her application form - Mummy told me I should didn't really seem like a fitting reason to join an adventure club - but it was true, there were other reasons as well. Her best friend Gia was in the club, for a start, and Gabriella clung to her like a... leech. But a nice leech, a friendly leech, or so Gabby hoped. Besides, she did love the outdoors. Climbing, especially. She had been abroad plenty of times, but even so, the best holiday she had ever been on was a camping holiday in Dorset, where on one occasion she had stayed up until 10pm climbing trees. It had been fun - until her parents had to call the police to find her, that was. Maybe I should have told them where I was going, Gabriella said to herself. And maybe I should have kept an eye on the time.
Anyway, that incident was a few years ago now, but that trip had helped her to really grow her love of the outdoors, and - she supposed - it had started the chain of events that had led her here.
"S-sorry I'm late," panted Gabriella, as she slipped in the mud and skidded up to where the rest of the Outdoors Club were already assembled. Somehow, she managed to control herself, and didn't fall - instead, she just seemed to slide smoothly into the group. If only the rest of these interactions could be so smooth, she thought to herself. "Hi," she said, out loud. I'm Gabriella... you can call me Gabby if you want." She sat down on the blanket next to Gia and grinned at her friend.Word count: 401
