Group F: Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw
@Robert Toukmond @Everly Charlton @Jackson ValentineFor a second Delilah had to take a moment to identify what had just happened, with a smile on her face she realised that the sleeve of her opponents robes had caught alight. She did feel a bit bad using that spell, but in reality, even if it hurt now, the nurse would be able to get rid of any pain and injury no problem. And even if they needed it, after the duel Delilah could heal them up.
Although almost immediately after noticing the fire, the entire area was coated in a thick layer of smoke, difficult to see through although not quite impossible.

Round two would find itself being somewhat tame. Fumos would hang heavy at the beginning of the round as Robert and Delilah both cast Flipendo brilliantly. The blazing blue lights would cut through the fog, but it didn’t matter how wonderfully cast the spells were. Everly was not about to be hit, not with fumos clouding her vision, not with being on fire, and not with paying attention to being extinguished.
Not even as Jackson extinguished Delilah’s flames from his teammate’s robes, Everly masterfully evaded Ravenclaw’s scathing spells. Fumos would also be dissipating into the air, leaving the arena once more visible for all and for Ravenclaw to see that Everly was, in fact, perfectly fine.

It was funny what inhaling that magical smoke could do to the mind. Valentine didn't need complete darkness to reflect, but it certainly did serve as an unexpected catalyst for it.
To the speculative observer, the results of this duel were set in stone. Yet, the two First Years were somehow holding their own? But how? Although it might not have been apparent to the uninitiated, the Fourth Year was holding back. She was holding back to the extent that it made Valentine cringe internally. He couldn't tell if it was pity, respect, or sadism that led her to take these actions.
It was definitely not ignorance. Delilah was a Ravenclaw, and Ravenclaws shared everything they knew with each other. He wondered what would happen if he and Everly somehow managed to gain the upper hand. Would Delilah fall back on the tried and true methods to utterly crush those who couldn't oppose her superior arsenal? Was their survival thus far just a delaying of the inevitable?
It was moments like this that he'd ask Bridget what the heck he was supposed to do. As much as they had prepared together, he doubted anything she could have done would have prepared him for this. Besides, Bridget wasn't here; she was probably resting for her match the next day after having played moderator for a duel earlier in the morning. She couldn't help him even if she could see him now - that thought gave him some comfort. She wouldn't have to witness the hell he was being put through.
Instead, the (un)fair Santario Martin was the judge of his arduous skirmish. Although he hadn't shown it out of professionalism (and didn't intend to for at least a considerable amount of time), their first interaction still left a sting. But in all seriousness, what was up with her eyes? They were so blue that they almost glowed-
Damn it, the Fumos was fading.
It was go time.

Interacting with @Delilah Baker, @Jackson Valentine, and @Everly Charlton
Once again, Robert aimed for Everly, and once again, he missed. The fog made it hard to tell exactly what had happened, but as it cleared, he could tell that his target was entirely unscathed by either his or his partner's spells. In fact, she was looking a bit better than when she'd disappeared into the fog beforehand, the fire from Delilah's spell having been put out. Robert would be lying to say that he wasn't getting the least bit frustrated with the way things were going so far in the duel. There was something deeply demoralizing about missing a spell twice in a row, and the Ravenclaw could feel the grin that had been on his face since the start of the duel start to slip.
Frantically, Robert took a deep breath, cleared his mind, and tried to think logically. The Gryffindors were yet to throw a single attack spell at them, and even if three out of the Eagles' four spells had missed, the one partial hit was still more than their opponents. Delilah was the three years older than the rest of the duelers, giving them an advantage, which, along with both of the Ravenclaws' experience from the first round of duels tipped the scales in their favor. Thinking through this made Robert feel much better, and his mouth once again started to form a smile. It might be a bit more grim than before, but he was determined to make it through the duel with a positive outlook, even if that was harder than the duel itself.

#b76e79Everly let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding. This round, there had been two streaks of blue light shooting towards her, and though she had managed to dodge, she was left wondering what they were planning to do next. The smoke clouding her vision began to fade away, almost tempting her. It seemed as if both teams were getting frustrated and tense, and Everly supposed she was lucky she hadn't dropped dead already. The flames had been extinguished, and she had yet to cast a spell. Now she could only hope for the best.

@Robert Toukmond @Everly Charlton @Jackson ValentineOnce again she shot a spell, and while it wasn't exactly clear what had happened because of the fog, she could tell from where the light went that she had missed, once the fog had cleared up it was clear that both of them had missed. She looked over to robert in mild disbelief, before readying herself for the next action.

Judgmental sapphire eyes flitted between all the duelists as this was the round to watch, it seemed. Energy crackled to life throughout the air as three blazing flipendos sailed at opponents. However, she did notice more was Jackson’s interesting choice in strategy, and by interesting, she thought it was a waste. He hadn’t be targeted all duel, and it was probably because he looked far more nimble than Everly looked sturdy. He wasted an opportunity to hit when it was clear that Ravenclaw saw Everly as the actual threat and wanted her gone.
Everly sent a flipendo sailing across to Robert striking him in the shoulder, enough to possibly cause him to stumble, but he wasn’t going to let that go. He wanted to hit back and twice as hard, so he did. Robert’s Flipendo was cast flawlessly as it slammed Everly hard in the chest, sending her sprawling backward. To add insult to injury, Delilah’s Flipendo would also slam into her as she sailed backward just before she landed on her back. The girl was down, but she was not out; however, she would need to spend her next action to stand back up before she could rejoin the duel. In the beginning, it seemed like luck was all on the Lion’s side, but in the one round, the tides had turned, and the water was rising higher for the Gryffs.

She was right about that. It backfired horrendously, the way a heavily weighted coin might pivot on its side before determining its victor and victim. One thing was for certain; risk and reward were hopelessly imbalanced. Yet, as his teammate hurtled across the dueling floor from what must've been a painful double flipendo, Valentine's heart sank. Everly was such a small girl. He wasn't sure how much she'd be able to take at this rate.
A more pressing matter of contention, however, was that as soon as his partner succumbed to the punishment being dealt to her, he was next. Was it even worth it? To remain where he stood, fighting a battle he hadn't chosen.
That was false. He chose to be here, just as he chose to take on a fourth-year student without complaint. Whatever gleeful sentiments might've raced through the minds of the two Ravenclaws opposing him, he would be undeterred. Let them have their satisfaction. This was his fight, and as certain as the outcome seemed to be, so long as there was a spark of hope, he would not relinquish while there was still a chance.

#b76e79Every single bit of Everly's body ached.
Twin blue lights came shooting towards the Gryffindor again for the third time, and concentrated on her own spellcasting, her agility had failed her. Knocked on the ground, sore where the spells had hit her, Everly was sour from the moment when logic had failed her.
Darn Ravenclaws out to get her.
If it weren't from the fact that she was now aching and tired, knocked on the ground by the Flipendos, or that this match was hopelessly unfair, Everly's spirits were plummeting, and fast.
All she could do now was hope that her partner would be able to pull this off.ACTION: doing as strategized

@Robert Toukmond @Everly Charlton @Jackson ValentineAnother round of flipendos, almost exactly in sync, although roberts hitting harder than hers. She did feel bad, but this is what was planned for this round, and it seemed to be working. She would make sure to apologise profusely after the duel, it did seem a tad bit unfair on them, as they were both firsties, and Delilah was almost in her fifth year.
This was the first time they were properly winning though, and while she felt bad for the opposition, it did feel good to be succeeding. Since Delilahs focus was mostly on Everly this round, she just saw out of the side that Jackson had dodged, despite nobody targeting him this time around. Delilah felt guilty, but winning was better than being on the receiving end of these spells.
