Crushing Thoughts PV Closed

After hearing Paige’s explanation, Henry was starting to realize there may have been other instances with other boys back at his primary school or ones he met after arriving at Hogwarts. They had been subtle, almost unnoticeable moments, but they were all coming flooding back to him. He was trying very hard not to visibly panic. His mum and dad had never really said much about crushes and relationships and stuff. Henry figured he would learn as he went, but now he was really wishing they had said something to him or his siblings. He bet Liam had an idea of what this meant. “I, er, uh, don’t think you know him-them!” He corrected himself quickly, not sure what side of this she was on. He didn’t know very much about liking someone of the same gender, but he had heard some bad things.

Henry grinned as Paige pulled out photos of Wolfe to show him. He leaned over to get a better look and didn’t lose his grin as she explained what was in each photo. “It would be pretty cool to have a pet,” Henry mused, though he knew his parents would never let them. Though, he supposed, if he lived at Hogwarts for most of the year, maybe they would let him get a pet. It would only be at home for a couple months of the year, then he would be the sole responsibility for it while gone.

Paige nodded at Henry's slip up. "Okay... Henry! It's alright to like the same gender. It's great! You will change the world one day! End all prejudice!" Paige nodded with her eyes shining. Really, it was great. Paige would someday come out as bi, but she didn't know that much about herself yet. But she was a huge supporter. In fact, the principal at her primary school was totally biased of lgbtq+, and Paige organized a protest when he made a rule against the gatherings of lgbtq+. He refused and Paige would not take no for an answer. She took the case to court, it was that serious. The court ordered in her favour, but the principal has hated Paige ever sense. When Paige left, he decided to hate her little brother instead. He was a real... um so moving on.

Paige smiled even wider as Henry said that Wolfe seemed cool. "Maybe you could meet him one day! He would totally enjoy that. He's a people person. Except when that person is a threat. And when their is a threat, you stay away. He's got teeth." She raised her eyebrows as she tucked the photos back into her pocket. She winked.

Henry wasn’t sure how he felt about the idea of ending all prejudice. He barely knew anything about the way people who liked the same gender were treated, just that it was often badly. Besides, he had just learned he was gay – gay was right, right? – he wasn’t sure he was ready to change the world. “It-it’s just new to me, is all. I just didn’t think I’d ever had a crush on someone and now I realize I think I have a couple of times in the past and maybe even now and it’s just because no one asked if there were any…boys I liked. Everyone always asks if there’s a girl I like and I just think ‘huh, not really’ but now it strikes me that there’s actually a reason why? I just….” Henry paused for a moment, hands flailing in a bit of a panic. “I’m only eleven? This is a lot.” This was probably one of the worst cases of rambling that had come from Henry in a while. It was just bizarre to him that the realization would happen this way.

Meeting Wolfe would be difficult, since they were in school most of the year, but he supposed when they were off for summer. It might be interesting to explain to his parents how he wanted to visit a friend from school so he could meet her dog…. ”Where are you from?” He asked. If he wanted to meet Wolfe, he might have to know where she was from to even know if it was feasible. “I don’t think I’m a threat,” he added as an afterthought on her comment. He had never been scared of dogs, not like some of his older siblings. He liked them, for the most part. He just hadn’t had much chance to interact with dogs.
