It was all going well so far. Although the bitter winds managed to find its way into the crowd it was quite cozy, especially with a nice hot drink at hand. There was no better feeling. It was obvious the game was almost about to begin. The seats were filling quickly and the cheers were becoming louder. Irritating would be the correct word to use, normally, but this atmosphere just felt different and even Falentra felt her blood pumping.
“Come on Howard..” Her support may have not been noticeable, but deep down she was cheering like a giddy fan girl. It was... embarrassing. Her head would shake at the thought so she decided to take her mind off it with a warm drink.
Rather than pouring a small amount into the lid/cup provided, she took a swig straight from the jug, letting out a gasp from the deliciousness as well as the heat. The warmth that quickly ran through her body sent a shiver down her spine.

Not long after, a boy had soon made himself comfortable beside her. Of course Falentra had to quickly eye-up who she was about to deal with. From what she saw, he was a...Slytherin? No, a Ravenclaw? Her eyes picked up on the green jumper he wore, as well as the blue beanie. No response was given. Not straight away. Instead, she diverted her gaze back to the pitch, studying the players that had begun to warm themselves up. Howard was there, all ready to go on the bench. She wondered how he would cope in the weather, if it would affect his performance or set of any anger within him if he accidentally slipped up. A quick swig from her cup would follow quickly to try and calm her nerves. She just hoped he stayed safe.

If it wasn’t for the boy following her up with another question, she would have completely forgot about him being there. “What?” She snapped at him whilst he had interrupting her thoughts. The poor lad probably meant no harm in it. She was just slightly grumpy, and on edge today. More than normal. “...Sorry.” She forced out an apology to the boy before clearing her throat and continuing with a somewhat more friendlier tone. “Uh. Slytherin. But I’m ‘ere to support my partner, Howard. He’s playin’ for Hufflepuff.” Silence would follow instantly but her eyes searched his saying a lot more than she needed to. If he dared questioned her reasoning on supporting another team, she would have plenty to say about it no doubt.

Whoa, I love your skirt! What? Where did that bubbly voice come from? Falentra lent forward slightly to see a girl who appeared out of nowhere beside Cade. How long has she been there? The fourth year took a quick look down at her skirt to which she would cover instantly with her coat. “Oh. Thanks.” Her apprication was short and well, not so sweet but it was nice. Something Falentra shown very little around people she didn’t know or trust.

Falentra would follow up with a smile, a forced one at that to the two students beside her. She really had to start making some sort of an effort with people. Be nice Falentra and keep your cool, please. She reminded herself before deciding to follow up with a question of her own. “And uh, who are.. you two ‘ere to support?” Starlee had a familiar face, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on where she had seen her before. As for Cade, she had no idea and if he had gave off any signs as to which house he belonged to, she was oblivious to it. Paying attention to unnecessary chit-chat wasn’t really a strength of hers.

Ability: Fearless (immune to Terrible Presence)
Today the weather wasn't really Griseldis's favorite. It was cold and windy that made it difficult for her to feel excited for the Quidditch game she wanted to watch between Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Not wanting to catch a cold, the lioness decided on an outfit that could keep her warm for at least the whole day outside. She wore a bright yellow winter down cotton jacket with a hoodie, underneath was a black knitted sweater her aunt from Shanghai knitted for her as a Christmas gift and a new pair of dark denim jeans her mother bought for her. This time, she even wore a knitted beanie but it still showed the forms of her two space buns. Honestly, Griseldis wasn't much of a fan of fashion anyways, she often just picked out the outfit that felt more comfortable for her and not caring much how the style looked like.

The true reason to watch this game was to observe the teams of both Houses. Griseldis wanted to know how the current Hufflepuff team is right now and even though they barely won against the Slytherin team. She still considered them to be strong opponents, it would also be a good chance to see the two most terrifying Beaters on both opposite teams: the gentle giant Quinn Healy and the notorious viper Erin Ryan. Compare to these two, she was still lacking as a Beater so watching them going against each other might help her learn something.

On her way up to join the audience, she did sense an odd feeling of unpleasantness somewhere but shrugged it off. Just when she was wondering if she would meet any of her own Gryffindor teammates, she saw their co-captain Evelynn Decipio already observing the Hufflepuff and Slytherin players getting ready for the game to begin. The girl was quite popular within the House with most of the Gryffindors and recently being chosen as their newest Prefect. So she couldn't help but think this second-year to be a very talented and impressive person. "Evelynn!!", despite being surround by the noisy crowds she still tried to call out her name loudly and did her best to squeeze through to get closer to her. "It's so good to see you here. Are you also here to observe the game? What do you think of the current Hufflepuff team?" Griseldis asked and became curious about her answer.

More often than not, Evelynn's outings to the various quidditch games would prove to be a solo experience. There had been that near encounter during the fall matches where her attempts to keep watch on Lestrange had been not-so-subtly called out by Ryan, but nothing had come of it. And in the year previous, she had once—once—attended a match alongside D'Spacito. Then, however, he had taken it upon himself to criticize her abilities as seeker and co-captain, shooting quips in her direction under his breath as though they were the carbon dioxide he expelled with every breath. The grating upon her nerves every minute of the game had reached such a height that she'd felt the need to rather forcefully confront him when it was over, leading to a rather illicit below-bleacher duel. Needless-to-say, she'd opted not to bother with the company of others again.

So unexpected was the shout of her name, then, that she jumped in her seat, eyes widening in surprise. Not even the lingering aura of unease that seemed to creep in Professor Chiadovini's wake had triggered such a startle response in the new prefect. Wheeling her head around to search the source, gray eyes came to rest on the bubbliest of the Gryffindor prefects. Not particularly partial to raising her voice unnecessarily, Evelynn simply raised her hand instead in a reserved wave to acknowledge the heralding. It wasn't until Griseldis had picked and pushed her way through the bleachers to close the distance on the vacant spot next to Evelynn that she finally returned the greeting.

"Hello, Edelhardt," Evelynn replied. "I do try to make it to every game," she admitted, an uncertain, but polite, smile on her lips. "I haven't missed one yet, actually. And I'm not expecting anyone to come sit with me, so by all means.." The hanging sentiment was meant to be an offer and she gestured to the bench to confirm that she wasn't holding it for anyone in particular. With pleasantries out of the way and the sudden spike in her heart rate stymied, Evelynn adjusted her red and gold patterned scarf and returned her attention pitch-ward.

"Well…I will admit, I wasn't expecting them to perform as well as they did in the first game this year. They've lost quite a few of their best players, of course. Towers, Nicholson and Kovacs were absolutely excellent, and they're certainly worse off without them." Without ever actually having met Reid up close and in person and instead only seeing him as a uniform in yellow with his name and number emblazoned upon his usually burred figure, she hadn't the faintest idea he was sitting right nearby. "It's a shame, really. As frightening as they are in the air, I would have liked the chance to have played against them. I think I could have learned a great deal from that contest..

"But much of their core is still quite strong," she continued, waving away her absent sentiments and regrets of lost opportunities. Leaning to pull her pair of omniocculars from her book bag in preparation for the start of the match, she continued, "Healy is, of course, as frightening as he has ever been. Very dangerous with a bat and very difficult to be rid of. Like Ryan in that way, really. But where she's slippery and fast, he's just impossible to take down without sending every last bludger at him. He's the only real threat, though.

"Reid—" (Atlas Reid, not Reid Kovacs) "—is alright. We played against her in the scrimmage last spring. She let quite a few quaffles through the hoops, but also wasn't dreadful. Her form seems to have improved over the summer, though. She was remarkable during their last game, so I'm expecting to see some impressive saves from her again today.

"Jones was another that we played against in the scrimmage. He was interesting. Quite a good chaser, actually, but he also seems to prefer a more physical game. Not in the sense of blatching, but his opponents should be holding tightly to that quaffle and be prepared to take a body blow or two, I think. He will be an interesting one to watch. If it wasn't for the fact that it is Riddle guarding the Slytherin hoops, I'd be expecting to hear him ringing that bell quite a few times. We'll have to see what he can manage.

"Bowen is another that's quite gifted, actually, although she didn't really shine in their last game. I've seen her snag the quaffle a few times, although I don't believe I've seen her score. I could be misremember, though. I would have to check my notes later. Regardless, I think she will give the Slytherins a good run. Not nearly as good as Séverin, but I'd say she's fairly close in skill to Shymane or Whitethorn. I'm not certain about Larkston, though. I'll have to see how she plays today.

"The rest are fairly new. Well, except for Emrys. He surprised me during the last game and pulled off an impressively quick snitch catch. I will be the first to admit that I underestimated him, but I'm still not convinced that he wasn't lucky in that regard. So we'll have to see how he performs today.

"As for the others, however, this will be the first game for Springhall and Bezuidenhout. As well as for nearly the entirety of their second string, actually. Procoppio and White were there during the last game, but neither got to enter the match; and Procoppio was playing a different role then as well. This time she's a beater, though. As much as I hate to admit it, as I don't enjoy hoping for players to take a fall when I'm spectating, but I do hope we get to see her play. I think she'll make for an absolutely smashing beater."

And yes, Evelynn kept an absolutely pensively straight face during the last of her sentiments, ignorant of the fact that she'd made an excellent pun. Instead, she turned to Edelhardt with an apologetic smile. "Er.. Sorry…" she apologized, suddenly aware that she'd allowed her thoughts to be released through the open floodgate. Something, she was coming to realize, that many people didn't particularly like. "Perhaps that was a bit much.."

The voice caught his ear, causing him to turn his head and meet eyes with who looked to be someone from Slytherin. Rather than being sly or snarky, he offered a warm and brief smile. "That so? Consider me a fan of the yellow ones then."

He glanced at the game, longer than most before turning his attention back to the student. "I got friends on Hufflepuff, but one on Slytherin. Wish them both luck and all though. I do miss being up there."

Course he had no malicious intent to see any player suffer through a terrible injury, it's just rather unavoidable at this point with how Quidditch was played. But there was a double meaning to some of his verbiage. He also noted how terribly cold it was, the recent snowfall definitely was not unnoticeable. As a result, the fourth year wore a black bomber jacket, dark pants, and some boots. At the least, his cardigan and dress uniform stayed the same. He even retained his worn Hufflepuff scarf from first year, it was safe to say that he felt rather warm.

"Do you watch Quidditch often? It's a nice sport." Reid idly stated. His stare trailed on his past teammates, even glancing to the opposing team. Maybe he could join again sometime, join when he was ready to be a part of it. But for now, he couldn't and he was here stuck in the audience with as much as a conversation to his name. The beater glanced around in the spectator's row then back to the person he was talking to.

Jennifer has been to many national quidditch matches before. She always was excited. Quidditch. The sport with danger, taunting and sometimes mocking. But it was also exciting. She didn't care much, but it provided entertainment. Jennifer was wearing black jeans, black boots, a grey sweater, and a green coat. She walked out to the stands. Students were already there. Jennifer walked and attempted not to touch anyone. There was a lot of grumbling from the people she passed, but she just sighed and rolled her eyes. "Apologies." Students seemed to be chatting about teams and all of that.

Jennifer would be rooting for the snakes. The cunning always wins. Or at least, that's the way it should go. Jennifer got herself some tea and then would find a seat near some Slytherins. She turned to them. "Hello, my name is Jennifer King. Who might you be?"

If any of these people came from pure-blood families they should recognize the name 'King.' Jennifer seriously was trying to find people like her or someone to get along with. Her mother wanted her to be perfect: To have a decent amount of friends, good grades, and to not mingle among muggle-borns.
It was quite frustrating.

Cade sipped his tea, warming up his hands and his bones. He jumped an inch when the girl snapped at him. He frowned and was about to utter a small apology, it wasn't Cade's intention to bother anyone. He was only trying to be friendly. Before he could open his mouth she muttered a quick Sorry. Cade bit his lip and nodded his acceptance. "Not to worry," he mumbled. He was getting a strange vibe from the older girl. She was very much spaced out and yet present at the same time. Maybe she just didn't want to be here?

She mentioned her partner playing for Hufflepuff. "That's cool, I hope he doesn't get injured for your sake." Cade crossed another two fingers for her. Although he was against Hufflepuff, he knew how dangerous the game could be. He wouldn't wish any kind of hurt on them. Cade sipped at his tea relishing the sharp cinnamon taste that warmed him to the core. He suddenly heard a loud Heya!

Brown optics snapped up in surprise as a blonde girl approached. He realized quickly she was as fond of Cassandra as he was. "Starlee is a cool name, I'm Cade," he answered, putting a welcoming smile on his face. This girl seemed very excited about the game and its prospects. Plopping herself down on Cade's other side. "I'm here to support Cash, the beater for Slytherin." He told the quiet Slytherin girl. "Cash plays guitar in our band, Spring Thunder." Cade tried desperately to keep up with the sudden change in mood. This bubbly Slytherin wasn't quite what he was used to, but he welcomed the difference. "With Cash on our side, we should have a good chance of survival." Cade smiled, still wary of the strong Hufflepuff team.

He liked the yellow ones. "It is always more interesting when there are others that are not in total agreement," Mathias commented. "Best of luck, even if I don't entirely mean it," he smiled not expecting a sense of humor. Not many people had one of those, they apparently forgot that when they went to Ollivanders to buy their first wand. A couple of galleons and your sense of mirth.

Mathias did catch the mention that he missed being up there. Presumably on a broom, likely on the pitch. That was not really an option for him, he was not supposed to be seen. "I am envious," he admitted with honest candor. "I am not one for heights," he lied. "But I do enjoy the spectacle." He watched as the team rounded the pitch for their inaugural lap. "Why did you stop playing?" It was not everyone's passion, perhaps that was the case here but he missed it. People don't miss things that they did not enjoy.

"I watch it regularly," Quidditch that is. "But I missed the first game of the season, felt a bit under the weather," a second lie. He was busy attending to his cousin and his lady friend. His interest in muggle-borns would be his downfall. That was something he would have to explain on his free time. "I heard that Hufflepuff has done well this past year, undefeated and all that," an amazing accomplishment really. "Like most spectators, I am excited to see the person on top tumble down," like watching a beautiful disaster "but everyone likes watching a win. So either way, going to have a good time. Who is Hufflepuff's greatest asset?"

If he was a spy, he would make a terrible spy since he asked this inquiry in the open and in front of witnesses. In truth, a team's asset would be a poorly kept secret. The hardest hitter. The fastest catcher. The best observer. It was like asking what color someone's barn was painted, the truth was not the intention, never the want. What he was actively seeking was something else in this seemingly basic inquiry.

"Why did you stop playing?"

His brow quirked at the question as he looked back at the game, he seemed a little contemplative in that moment. Reid's fingers curled into the wooden railing and his shoulder leaned into gravity ever so slightly. "Personal matters, but also because I was overworking my elbow. Pains and all. My priorities weren't in check either, my grades suffered and I know I should focus on that for now." The student had little to hide, he was honest at the least.

Reid figured that this person was a first or a second year, he couldn't entirely recognize him and he seemed rather young. It came to his attention that he didn't even know his name yet either, how awkward. As he began talking about Hufflepuff, the student turned his body to lean against the railing. One might find this dangerous, but this wouldn't be the first time that he fell from a very high place. That fall he suffered at the World Cup Tournament was a pain he wouldn't forget for a while.

His mention of wanting to see Hufflepuff's downfall wasn't received all that well to Reid, who didn't seem to sport an ounce of intrigue. But he held his tongue, were it not for his grandfather's harsh words, he would be someone willing to exchange some words with this student. Atius' temperance took a hold on his shoulders and his guard seem to slump; like a gun whose bullet was taken from the chamber. "Who is Hufflepuff's greatest asset?"

The green eyed student blinked a few times, a half-lidded gaze was thrown over his shoulder as he watched the yellow and black flashes. "Who is kind of the wrong question to ask." Reid folded his arms across his chest and smiled, a hum punctuated his doting actions. "The captains are great, Quinn and the rest of them. But don't get me wrong, the team as a whole operates strongly. But our wins were always secured by Serena, I'd say."

"Overall Hufflepuff is cohesive, has been from the beginning too, the team's synergy is their asset. It carried us through the first season and all the way to the World Cup, even our opener game in our second season."
He hoped that would be the case in this game, he had high hopes for the team. The student looked back at the Slytherin. "Also, never got your name. Mine's Reid."

It had admittedly been quite a while since Santario had shown up to any quidditch match, not counting the championship over the summer. In fact, as she thought about it, she hadn’t really shown up since she had left the Slytherin team early on last year. Now being a dueling captain, she usually had even less time to spectate anything other than her duellists’ skills. Today would prove to be the exception as she walked up the stairs to bleachers. She didn’t really care for a few of the Slytherin team members, but that had changed with one of their new additions. Her best friend Thomas Lestrange would ironically enough find himself in the position she had held when she was on the team.

Once arriving at the top, she tugged her scarf a little closer to her face to protect against the harsh winter air. Even if it wasn’t windy at the bottom, up here, it most certainly would be, and she did not envy the players during this time of year. She remembered practicing in it, and she was happy duelling took place inside. Santario would grab the first front row seat available before setting her camera bag down on the bench behind her. She surveyed the field for a quick moment before removing her camera and a little green and silver striped flag in which the fabric had been cut into the shape of a scythe blade. Homage to the moniker that Santario had given Thomas during the last blossom ball the true meaning, something only they knew.

The flag in itself was only about three inches in height, and she had rigged it so that it would sit on top of her camera without obstructing any photos and without having to hold it. If Thomas Lestrange had thought she would let this event go by without any photographic evidence to send home to his lovely mother and keep for himself, he would have been sadly mistaken. She adjusted her long-range lens into focus and awaited the moment for the teams to come out.

Of course, there would be photos of the starters kicking off and peacocking, but that would be paused the moment she saw her friend, and even if he never took to his broom this match, she would get the photos of him proudly walking out onto the field before he took his seat at the bench. Once her main goal had been accomplished, she put her fingers to her lips and blew as hard as she could, emitting a sharp series of whistles before placing the camera back up to her face and attempting to capture any quidditch player who looked her way whether in the air or benched.

Cade promptly introduced himself, even calling her name cool. She did like her name, it was some long family tradition of naming everyone after Star's or Planets, or at least something to do with Astronomy, and of her siblings, she felt her name was definitely the best. She smiled back and then went onto address the older girl.

She Starlee a quick thanks for her compliment and Starlee was completely oblivious to the fact that the girl had then promptly covered her cute skirt up. Starlee did take note of the smile the girl returned and returned the gesture tenfold. This understated nicety also led her to more questioning of the older student, especially since she had somehow missed her name.

However, she got a bit sidetracked when Cash's name came up again. Oh boy, whenever was there a time she didn't wanna talk to or about Cash? She quickly added on after Cade's comments, "Cash is 100% the best beater in the whole school! AND Cash has... like... the coolest purple hair. You can't miss 'em, even when they are buzzing around the pitch!" Again, she smiled and beamed at the two. She couldn't wait for the match to start, her excitement levels quite literally through the roof. Not even the cold could get her down now. In a fit of overexcitement and enthusiasm (and perhaps a way to warm herself up since she didn't have a cozy drink), she quickly stood up, jumped around a bit while yelling, "You got this Slytherin! Go Cash!" and sat herself promptly back down, grinning from ear to ear.
