BACKSTORY Reducio Perhaps the story of Valenica Deathstout is one of the more simplistic tales if compared to the other children at Hogwarts, but a story nonetheless. Her life wasn't so tragic as to have ended up an orphan like in some cases, no, this girl had a family. This family however was beyond simple, but not so complex as to consider them wicked purebloods either. It seemed the Deathstout family was always in the middle, balancing between light and dark, as too much of both could drag you down spiraling without a minute to think ahead. The Deathstouts are a group of very studious people, as what could possibly be more important than knowledge? Perfect grades and mannerisms were not asked for, nor were they expected, they simply existed without a reminder. Perhaps this was because they actually withheld a thirst for knowledge, or perhaps it was because they were vain and liked to appear better among the other wizards. Whatever reason, whatever motive, it seemed to be enough to keep the family in place. Valencia's own birth, however, was perhaps one of the few frantic and messy moments of both Gwenivere and Chandler Deathstout's lives had they been together. The couple had been unprepared for this moment, a new experience on top of the act of actually giving birth altogether. So, promptly at 3:22 AM, in a hushed and quiet room of the manor, the eldest daughter and heiress to the Deathstout family name was born. As stated before the Deathstout's are and were beyond studious people, always found in a study or library. Well, being brought up in such an environment had caused Valenica to do the same. Now at the age of ten, right before the girl's eleventh birthday, she had found herself sneaking to the book room to research just what exactly made this year's birthday special. Of course, considering it was late and beyond curfew, she had to do such an act quietly. s her hands fumbled in the dark as she made her way down the large spiral staircase. Though the farther she ventured upstairs the darker the rooms seemed to get. For a moment she thought to turn around, though suddenly the room lit up brightly as if on command. Had she done such a thing? It was frightening to say the least, not because she actually did magic, but because the entire thing was unexpected. Her scream echoed throughout the dark hall, leading to the rushed wake of her mother and father. She had learned two things that day. One, she wouldn't be punished for trying to read more. Secondly, eleventh birthdays certainly were special.

"I like to think I'm helping them by hating them. I'm reminding them they aren't God's gift to humankind." Sarcastic, witty, and downright intelligent. Valencia could be considered one of two things; rude, or honest.
