Round 2

It seemed the Ravenclaws had some plan. It didn't matter whether Meenauh could unriddle it — it was good as long as it worked for them.

From the centre of the fog, a sudden bright spell travelled all the way and hit Alexa, despite her sharp senses. The spell had to be Aida's based on the incantations heard. Meenauh applauded in her mind and nodded in appreciation. Her partner, as well as Alexa were not as good as her in aiming in the fog.

But May Moonstar was on a roll. Or just lucky — but who cares if the result is achieved. A high voice produced a bright flame that hit no other than the Aida and set her aflame. Both teams seemed to be really equal in their powers and Meenauh sensed a long duel that one.

Under the Bogies’ Curse Aida’s body felt like it was decaying from the inside out, and then a flame struck and began to chew away at her from the outside in. Everyone was focusing their attacks on her, just like last duel; just like being bullied for being an albino throughout her childhood. All this attention was negative, destructive, when indeed she had always wanted attention, but of a different sort. Just like anybody else, she just wanted to be loved.

Aida wasn’t entirely aware that it was this wish bringing her such pain. It was easier to blame her failures and the negative attention she faulted herself for than to understand her mysterious yearning. After all, love had been absent from her life since her earliest days. She had never known her parents nor learned if they had ever cared for her, be they alive in Azkaban or dead. The letter probably meant nothing. In her parents' place, her foster parent had taught her that if she was going to be tolerated she would have to be useful. The only thing Aida had that was remotely like what she really wanted was her friends, Ileen, Dee, Alexander. Yet, these friends to some extent kept their distance for reasons the white witch could only guess at. Had Manticore loved Aida? Who could say what lies in the heart of an abused horse? In the end, Aida was grateful for what friendship she had but deep down she wasn’t satisfied. She still wanted. Yet, she had convinced herself that she could not have what she wanted… did not deserve what she wanted... and so she decided to focus on making herself useful for those she loved.

Now burning and aching from both inside and out, Aida just had to keep going forward. She would have to learn to endure the suffering in order to win. Then at least Alexander’s suffering might cease.

Alexa was under pressure now. Through the fog, she saw a flash of light, and then suddenly something hit her chest and she was flying backwards, to land on her back on the stage. She lay still momentarily, the breath knocked out her, and slightly dazed. Then she shook her head slowly, and rolled over onto her stomach, and pointed her wand back over her shoulder at her opponents, shouting out a spell. She was not going to let this end the way the last one had!

Damion was still standing and so was his partner. Good he thought. They needed to keep standing and keep fighting. He wanted to be strong and win this thing. he wanted to make his team proud of him. He wanted to win this duel. He wanted to do good not only for his team but also for himself.

Round 3

The streak of success for May Moonstar seemed to overwhelm her to the point she forgot what to do next. Or maybe the fog was getting to her, raising some childish fears that blocked the ability to act. So, she just stood there, doing nothing. The fog would cover that and others may not have seen the pause in her actions.

The teamwork seemed to be practised well by the Ravenclaw team. As soon as Aida was lit aflame, Damion quickly cast the spell to prevent her suffering, while Aida could focus on spellcasting. A nicely produced Knockback Jinx would brighten the already not that thick fog but would find no point of connection to any of the opponent.

A highlight of the match would be won by a badger — Alexa. The singing of her spell would create a nice effect and would be clearly seen through the fog — right from her wand to Aida. The spell would be so powerful that Aida would be knocked down off the stage and would need immediate attention of the medical personnel. Meenauh was in awe and fear (for Aida) at the same time, but as the stage was already 'cleared', she didn't need to stop the duel.

"Continue," she would proclaim loudly as the duellists may have not seen what happened.

Despite trying to save his partner Aida and failing to help her, Damion was still standing strong. He was not going to give up on this. He wanted to win this duel. He felt that he was getting very close to where he wanted to be. He looked at his partner and shook his head. Shoot. He had not been able to help her. But well now he had to focus on what was going to come.

For a split second, May was so surprised with her past spell that she didn't even try to cast a spell. Alexa, thought, was still in game and casted a magnificent knockback jinx on Aida, who fainted right up. A magnificent thought came to her~ they were winning! but the duelling had not ended. That Ravenclaw guy...Diamond? Damion? yes, Damion. She looked at him, determined, and was ready for her next action.

Rolling up off the floor, Alexa squinted through the smoke to see if her spell had made contact. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw her opponent seemingly blast off of the stage, landing on her back, and not moving. Alexa winced in sympathy… That was probably how she had looked last time! But she had done it! She had removed one of their opponents from the duel! Now she readied her wand again to cast another spell.

Round 4

The duel came to sort of a halt once the spells were cast, all missed and some not produced. But the good news was that the fog dissipated and the whole stage was clearly visible — both for the duellists and the audience. Damion was not in an advantageous position, but as he produced his spell, Meenauh started to ponder on his options. After getting one after a while, she wanted to check whether he'd follow it or not — she made a small bet to herself and continued to watch the duel carefully.
