Quidditch: Ravenclaw v Gryffindor
This is a spectator thread for the Ravenclaw v Gryffindor Quidditch game.

Drinks of choice included hot chocolate and tea. Large, cozy mugs were clutched in the hands of many cheering students. They would watch as both teams spilled out onto the pitch. Thankfully it was not them high up in the sky flying about on their broom. The bitter winds that this winter had brought was rather unpleasant. In fact some of the smarter students had even brought with them a throw from their common room that they donned over their jacket. Several Hufflepuffs were cuddling, due to the low temperatures even a few non-Hufflepuffs were engaging in this alien-seeming pastime for the sake of warmth.
Go... Gryffindor & Ravenclaw!
Best of luck both the teams. Roleplayers, please remember that you cannot effect the players in the game in any way. As a spectator you are a witness to what happens here. There is no active moderation of this thread, this is simply a roleplay prompt that some of you might partake in.

Despite the chill, students as well as Professors would fill the stadium seats bundled to keep out the chill. It was surprisingly warm, the shared space of so many allowed a sort of comfortable radiant heat to keep the chill down to a reasonable level. The Quidditch players were of course not quite so fortunate. It was bitter cold, the biting winds would make their skin red and chapped. The need for gloves as well as warm clothes made the students appear larger than normal (no statistical effect, this is merely flavor). The Date: Saturday February 6th.
The Time: 12 noon.
Weather: Brisk, windy and cold. A recent snowfall has frosted the ground in an icy rime.

Having ventured off to the first game of the year to support his 'friends' and dormmates, he figured he might as well show up to the next game as well. Obviously alone in this one, he decided to arrive just a tad bit early to the game as he wanted to be able to pick an isolated spot in the seatings. Wearing all black as always, he adorned a hoodie that helped protect him from the elements that the winter held. Black skinny jeans and a black beanie also accompanied him, covering his wears and legs to protect him from the cold and wind.
Making his way through the stands, he shifted his way over towards the upper decks of the stands and along the edge of a column that he could settle himself at. Honestly, he thought these games were awfully boring, but, he was there to support friends so he figured he could muster enough energy to be able to endure the tedious amount of time for the game to conclude. Settling himself down upon one of the stands benches at the top, he'd shift his hand out to gather his wand while his other hand settled inside the pocket of his hoodie to keep his hand warm.
The contrast of his ivory-white aspen wood wand compared to his attire was obvious, he loved it though and his obsession with keeping it within his grip at all times was always lingering. Like a drum stick, he twisted the cylindrical wand through his fingers as he hunched forward and waited for the game to commence. Although he was seemingly acting like a loner, which he normally was nowadays, he wasn't opposed to some banter between houses even though he didn't represent his house colors very well at the time being.

Quidditch. To muggles, when you say that word, it sparks confusion. Muggles might even worry for you. But in the magical world, the word sparks excitement among most. That applies to Paige. She was excited for this match, Ravenclaw v. Gryffindor. She knew that the home of the eagles had a marvelous team, and she felt quite sure they would do amazing. They might even win.
Paige headed out, wanting to get a good seat in the stands. It was a tad bit cold out, with some snow on the grounds. Paige had dressed well for the weather. Navy blue fleece leggings, long sleeve, and a white winter coat with a gold tint. She was wearing a navy blue winter hat. She was wearing black boots. She headed to the stands to see another student already there. She didn't recognize him so she would assume he was a Gryffindor. No matter. She would smile warmly to the boy before taking a seat somewhat near him.
Paige would than rub her hands together, wishing she brought gloves. She was used to the cold, but she still got chills. She had a feeling once the game started she would have her mind taken off of the temperature.

Attending Quidditch games was something Valencia always made sure she had time to do, as a sort of enjoyment and break from her usual studies. The game wasn't too complex; try to score, defend your team, find the snitch. It didn't need an in-depth analysis, and instead just served as entertainment and sport. Valencia had always wondered if she could play the game herself, though the risk of being out in the sun for too long wasn't one she was willing to stop. Lucky enough for her, today was one of the most frigid in temperature, the wind blowing harshly against her trench coat not helping anyone's case. However as she climbed up into the stadium, the chilling temperature seemed to have died down quite a bit.
The young Dhampir held her hot chocolate with both hands, the purpose more so for producing warmth rather than actually drinking the beverage. As she pressed the cup to her lips, she grimaced at the pain of scolding liquid going down her throat. The game had yet to begin, and so did her social interaction. Valencia made a habit to keep to herself, as her mother taught her to keep others wondering. It was surely.. advice. As her eyes traced the pitch below, she was only left to wonder what the outcome would be after all of this. That was the purpose, right? To win?

Cade was mostly partial to professional matches, never truly following the school teams before. But now knowing there was someone on the team he vaguely knew, he felt obligated to actually support his house for once. There was the added fact that he nearly joined the team as a first-string beater. But he felt it was too much to partake in both dueling and quidditch. Cade was bundled up in two jumpers and his school cloak. A hand-knitted blue beanie held down his black hair. He clutched hot cinnamon rooibos tea in both hands as he sidled into a row and sat beside a redhead girl who looked to be in his same year.
"Great day for it," Cade smiled with a note of sarcasm. His brown optics swept over the pitch observing the players mounting their brooms. The weather was windy, which might prove difficult when on a broom. Cade sipped at his tea which had surprisingly cooled to an acceptable temperature. "Any predictions?" He glanced at the girl. "I'm not familiar with Gryffindor's team but Ravenclaw has a considerable amount of new players." The Ravenclaw boy looked across the stands noting how many supporters each team had. Cade was obviously here for Ravenclaw, but the history of the team wavered his confidence in them. He hoped that the Birds would soar today.

Mentons: Everyone.
He was dressed simply -- a brown calf-length button down brown wool coat, a pair of simple black slacks and a long sleeved grey cotton shirt. Of course he had gloves, plain black leather gloves which were stuffed in his pocket along with his wand as well as a scarf that was draped over his seat. He would be cheering Ravenclaw on he would think. He would watch as the teams filtered out onto the pitch one by one and make a swift loop of the ring presumably. He really did not know any of the players, but that really did not make the game any less interesting. "Cheering on Ravenclaw myself," he announced not that the inquiry was meant for him, just a statement of stance really.
Gryffindor had not made a great impression on him, not that he had made a great impression on Gryffindor either. Luck would have it, he was primarily surrounded by Ravenclaws less one, not that he was aware of these demographics. "Do any of you know the players?"

With her focus so poised on the waiting of the players, Valencia had hardly noticed the fellow Ravenclaw who sat by her side. The voice of the boy came as unexpected, though her expression scarcely changed. She hummed in sarcastic agreeance to the question of the game's timing being perfect, a faint smile worn across her face but not so wide as to show the gaps where her canines should be. It was unlikely that he would be paying attention to such detail anyway, but it had become an instinct to conceal herself, to blend in.
At the inquiry of Valencia having her predictions, she stood quiet for a moment. This boy made a point, the team did seem to have shifted a bit recently. Though new players just meant new opportunities.. or something like that. Optimism could certainly not be considered one of Valencia's strong suits, though she supposed that statement ran true in all seriousness. Who knows, perhaps these new kids be the ones to win them the victory? Unproabable but.. She tried to put her house's last horrid loss behind her, and instead just put forth hope for them.
"We took quite a loss against Hufflepuff last match." She began. "Though Cecily is a good captain, I think she'll lead em to the win." Valencia finished, a glint in her eye as she smiled. Valencia then nudged the boy playfully, "As for Gryffindor.. I've heard Rafael is quite the jerk." She added jokingly, though apart of her wasn't entirely joking. Rumors tend to spread throughout the castle quite often, so you never really know what's reliable information and what is not, though she could certainly recall hearing mixed things about the Gryffindor Quidditch captain. She supposed it wasn't her place to indulge in such matters, but her curiosity wandered easily.
It then hit her that she was gossiping more than she was actually enjoying the game, resulting in pulling her jacket tighter against herself. The girl's pale eyes finally looked over at the Ravenclaw sitting beside her, his appearance resembling that of a first-year like herself. "Tell me your name." Straightforwardness seemed to be her go-to. Perhaps she would've asked another question if not for another voice chiming in, seemingly directing his question towards the other boy.
Alas, Valencia's curiosity had come to intervene again, the inquiry leaving her mouth almost as if it were uncontrollable. "And how come a Slytherin like yourself is cheering on the eagles?"

Quidditch: Ravenclaw v Gryffindor
The next round of Quidditch was happening, and Flash was thankful that the one he participated in happened already. He likely would have been too distracted to really pay much attention otherwise. With how freezing the temperatures were, he needed all the attention he could get. Flash was a creature of comfort, and found himself bundled in as many layers as he could manage to fit on himself. Though his outermost cardigan and scarf were blue, he couldn't say he was there for Ravenclaw. Once again he found himself having trouble rooting for either team. He was just there to watch, and enjoy the sport as usual. The thrill of sport spectating was not heightened by having one team he wanted to win more than the other, it was about seeing the strategies play out.
For one, Sylvain recently became the co-captain on the Ravenclaw team, and he was excited to see how his addition would play out. It was nice to have even more to connect with him on, even though Syl had never seemed like the sports type. Perhaps strategy was his forte?
As for the other team, there was of course Anastasia, Alan, and Evelynn. Evelynn was also a co-captain, though she had confided in him that she had trouble convincing Rafael to go for less bull-headed strategies. Flash was invested in seeing whether it would be a running theme, and whether they would continue to profit off wanton aggression. They had won their last game, against Slytherin no less, but it hadn't been due to superior tactics. It was mostly due to Evelynn's skills as a Seeker.
And... well... Anastasia, Flash's girlfriend. She had been the broom upon which Evelynn sat as she grabbed the snitch for the win last game, so it was clear she was a fantastic flier. In fact, she had told him more than once that Quidditch was a passion for her. Still, their relationship wasn't exactly a storybook romance as of late. He felt happy for her, certainly, but there was no music in the air when he saw her flying around. It was almost like she was still a stranger. He tried to shake off the feeling.
He came alone. He could have invited someone, but he didn't. Bridget came to mind, of course, but he didn't want her to feel obligated. She was someone else who liked the sport, who also didn't actively distract from it. An ideal spectating partner. He had to be careful about how much power he exerted over his friends, before it became too much. If she wanted to watch the game, she would come, perhaps even sit beside him. There was a big difference between that and asking her directly. Maybe he was over-thinking it. He was on a team with her too, wasn't he? Another kind of team... one that he had been starting to avoid.
It seemed this entire winter had been marked by avoidance. He kept being reminded of all the things he wasn't keeping up on like he used to. It felt strange, like he was losing touch with something important about himself. Still, hadn't everyone been telling him he going to get himself killed if he continued on the path he was taking? Even though there had been moments of unprecedented peace in recent history, it felt like something was missing. Any kind of closure. He was holding back a wave that was bound to crush him eventually.
Well, he hoped the match would be entertaining anyway.

Valentine's presence here was not out of obligation. With his crammed schedule and soaring personal ambitions, one might expect that he had too much on his plate to make time for something like this. But no, he was here because he chose to be. It was an impressive feat, even for members of his own house, to earn his willing fidelity. And as those few who tried would find, he was a stalwart ally to those who would call him friend, and an utter nightmare to those who would incur his wrath.
Mingling among the safety of his fellow Gryffindors, the First Year found a spot to sit where he could blend into the crowd. This was their show, and he would not be taking their limelight today. Comfortably dressed in padded jeans and a grey cotton jacket, the boy's choice of clothing reflected his transformation over the past few months from a lost child to an independent teen. He had a little trick for keeping warm, one he had learned during the Total Whiteout errand some weeks ago. Pressing the tip of his wand against the inside of his jacket, the occasional incantation of 'Lumos' gave off a faint, comfortable amount of heat that kept him toasty.
In his left hand, he clutched a thermal flask filled with hot chocolate. Not for him. It was for the people he had come to give his support.

He turned his head to decipher if the girl was telling the truth. "You don't happen to have some dark history with the Gryffindor Captain do you?" Cade raised a dark eyebrow so it disappeared into his flattened bangs. He didn't quite believe the girl, but he was amused at her all the same. He sipped more of his drink and looked down onto the pitch once more hoping to spot the aforementioned captain, but he saw only a few players currently benched. Cade's lips tilted into a slight frown.
"My name is Cade, what's yours?" Cade answered a little pleased someone wanted to know him. He stuck out his hand, a simple offer to shake her own. It was then that another voice spoke out to join their compact conversation. Cade turned his head to see another first-year boy. He couldn't tell which house the student belonged to from his dress, but it was obvious he wasn't a fellow Bird. "Ravenclaw needs all the support we can get," Cade nodded at the newcomer. "Especially with that failure in front of our dear Badgers." Cade dipped his head slightly back towards the girl, citing her report on their loss to Hufflepuff.
"I only know the co-captain." Then hearing the girl beside him call the boy a Slytherin, Cade added another thought. "It so happens I know your team's beater. Looking forward to Slytherin vs Hufflepuff."
