'Happy' place Closed

Why wasn't this girl colorblind? Ebony mentally scolded herself for getting closer and letting this girl see she was a hufflepuff, now this girl will talk about how hufflepuff are weak minded people. That's what Griffondors do, right? Ebony replied quickly, "I could be a hufflepuff. Or I could have stolen someone's clothes. Neverknow." Ebony realized the last part sounded creepy but hey, she already said it. No going back now. "And why are you so curious if im a hufflepuff. Do you have a thing against them or what?!" Ebonys tone was sharp. If this girl said one bad thing about being a hufflepuff Ebony would storm out of this room herself. Well, now the girl probally knew she was a hufflepuff but she didn't know her name or how she looked like, which was reassuring. She didn't want this girl to know who she is. She wasn't sure if she could trust her. Well, at least in till the girl gives some information about herself. 'little girl' was a good nickname but in turns of being trustworthy before Ebony could even consider giving her a clue about her life this girl would have to tell her about herself first.

"I could be a hufflepuff. Or I could have stolen someone's clothes. Neverknow."

"True I don't know but I doubt you would of stolen somebody else's robes."

"And why are you so curious if im a hufflepuff. Do you have a thing against them or what?!"

The girl in the shadows tone was sharp she was quite defensive. "I'm only asking because I know nothing about you and also I'm just a curious person. Definitely not I don't have anything against any of the houses especially not Hufflepuff, I really like Huffleuffs they are kind, resourceful and great with animals at least that is what I've heard." Makena sat thinking quietly to herself. 
"Okay I have an idea clearly you don't trust me and to be honest I don't trust you so why don't we each say one thing about ourselves it can be anything. I'll start... my name is Makena and I'm a Gryffindor well i guess that two was things but you probably already knew my house because of m robes. Makena smiled softly. "Okay your go" As Makena waited for a reply she sat in a comfortable position and then she rooted in her bag looking for something to eat.

Ebony thought about what to say. She was not going to say her name, that's finale. Well, not finale but still. She mulled over the possibilities and just picked one. "Well,littl- Makena, I'm a orphan and a hufflepuff even though everyone thinks I'm a slytherin. I also like being in the shadows because no one sees me. If no one saw me, no one could make fun of me. Simple as that." Ebony finished her statement by stepping closer into the light. Now you could clearly see her yellow robes. You could also see she had a petite yet strong figure, eyes that seemed to glow in the semi-dark place, and elfven,slightly pointed, ears. You could also clearly tell she had deathly pale skin. But still the darkness was covered her like fog, so if you saw her again you wouldn't recognize her, you would just know her basic features. She twirled the wand in her hand, the tip of it giving small sparks of silver. She liked standing there, in between the gray area of dark and light. It would be funny to watch Makena try to see her full face but she couldn't. She waited for Makena to tell her fact.

"Well,littl- Makena, I'm a orphan and a hufflepuff even though everyone thinks I'm a slytherin. I also like being in the shadows because no one sees me. If no one saw me, no one could make fun of me. Simple as that."

"You can still call me 'Little girl' if you want, I'm sorry for your loss I know what that's like since my father died when I was younger... Why do people think your a slytherin? That's sad you don't need to hide out in the shadows. Just ignore everyone who says mean things to you they are bullies and just looking for a reaction." The girl in the shadows finished her statement by stepping closer into the light. Makena felt like asking the girl to come out more but she new it would be best just to let her on her own.

"To answer some of your questions people think I'm a slytherin because I resemble a muggle' s version of a vampire. They also make fun of me because of that. And my parents ar-sorry slytherins, so all the magical kids back home also made fun of me or that. And as for your advice, it would have worked if I had any more self-confidence but it's all out. Years of people telling me I'm not worth it makes it hard to forget." Ebony said, rocking back and forth on her heels. Her eyes were glued on the floor as she was finishing her sentence. She really didn't want this girls pity. Pity wasn't truthful. You just say 'sorry so the person feels special. Then afterwards the girl is all out of pity and the other person is back down in there slump. Ebony would rather have no pity than to go through that same dumb cycle over and over again. Ebony then grew self conscious because of the normal girl standing in front of her who was probably never bullied. Then Ebony quickly tilted her face away from Makena and let strands of her pitch black hair cover her face.

"I get it honestly I'm not just saying it to be nice because it annoys me when people are fake with me so I don't like being fake with other people. I understand it's hard to be confident and brave when everyone tell you you're worthless and things like that, i get it better than anybody." Makena keeps on a confident face even though she just wants to look away and be shy. The girl in the shadows then quickly tilted her face away from Makena and let strands of her pitch black hair cover her face. "You don't need to hide from me, you can trust me" Makena sat looking at the girl in the shadows wondering what to say to make the girl trust her. "I have an idea if you feel like you can't trust me ask me anything and I will have to answer and you won't have to reveal anything about yourself unless you feel comfortable enough to. so Deal?"

Ebony admitted the deal sounded pretty good, but to be honest she really started to feel ashamed of herself now. The girl had no reason to spill her secrets because Ebony was too afraid to get out of the shadows. It just wasn't fair. "No, you don't have to do that. I'll just come out. It won't do any harm." Ebony said, looking at the girl. She quickly collected her thoughts and tried to calm herself down. It wasn't going to be that bad anyway. This girl wasn't going to make fun of Ebony. At least Ebony hoped she wouldn't make fun of her. Ebony took a deep breath then stepped out of the shadows, wincing as she did. Now the girl could see her crystal clear. Ebony dark hair fell over her forehead,barely covering her bright eyes. Her deathly pale skin stood out against her other features. She had a small, button nose and slightly pointed ears. Her hufflepuff clothes were in good shape. She had small red lips that looked makeup affected even though they were her natural color. Ebony quickly glanced towards the ground as she waited to see what Makena would say about her unusual appearance.

"No, you don't have to do that. I'll just come out. It won't do any harm."

The girl said while looking at Makena. She then stepped out of the shadows, wincing as she did. Now Makena could see her crystal clear. The girl had dark hair that fell over her forehead,barely covering her bright eyes. Her pale skin stood out against her other features. She had a small, button nose and slightly pointed ears. Her hufflepuff clothes were in good shape. She had small red lips that looked makeup affect but were probably just her natural colour. The girl then quickly glanced towards the ground. "See the light isn't that bad shadow girl, you can come and sit over here if you want." ... "Don't worry I'm not like those bullies that pick on you for no reason you don't look odd and like I said before you are pretty.  "

Ebony was surprised this girl didn't make fun of her in any way, shape, or form. Really surprised actually. She suspected something totally different. Anyway no need to dwell on that. Ebony walked over from where she was and sat on the edge of the white sink, her feet dangling over the edge. Just because that girl knew what she looked like didnt mean Ebony couldn't drop the personality. "Well, little girl, tell me about yourself. Like your backstory, your favorite color,the key to your family safe....Hah, just kidding about the last one but I seriously wouldn't turn down the chance for some money. Money never harmed anyone right?" Ebony said, completely enthusiastic. Ebony than pulled out her wand to tapped the sink with it, changing the color of it. First it turned purple, then black, and finally sliver. Ebony hummed in agreement then turned all the other sinks silver with black designs on them. Ebony then tried to turn the wall gold but her wand gave a weak sputter. Ebony just shrugged and tucked the wand back into her pocket. She kicked her feet(she was still on the sinks edge) and hummed along to a song while she waited for Makena to reply.

The girl walked over from where she was and sat on the edge of the white sink, her feet dangling over the edge.

"Well, little girl, tell me about yourself. Like your backstory, your favorite color,the key to your family safe....Hah, just kidding about the last one but I seriously wouldn't turn down the chance for some money. Money never harmed anyone right?"

The girl said completely enthusiastic. The girl then pulled out her wand to tapped the sink with it, changing the colour of it. First it turned purple, then black, and finally sliver. The girl started humming and then turned all the other sinks silver with black designs on them. She tried another spell  but her wand gave a weak sputter. The girl didn't seem to mid though she just shrugged and tucked the wand back into her pocket. "Umm Okay shadow girl I don't mind opening up to you. Well shadow girl I grew up with my mother and father in London but sadly my father died when I was little we were very close."

Makena stopped for a moment. "That's about all the backstory your getting yet at least. And if you really want to know my favourite colour is purple but yellow and light blue come in a close second."

 "What about you?" Makena asked curiously. Still keeping a smile on her face.
