The Beginning of an Adventure
Maverick wasn't sure how he felt as he boarded the train. His mother had been in tears the entire time they had been at the station and almost hadn't let him board the train. He knew his mother was just worried even though they had gone over everything for the past two weeks. He waved one last time back to his mother before he pulled his trunk behind him further into the train. Maverick walked through the train passing by compartment after compartment. He saw all sorts of people as he passed them by in all sorts of clothes and all very different. He himself was currently wearing a worn gray sweater and a pair of jeans. He definitely didn't stand out which was probably for the best.
Maverick debated whether or not he should go into a compartment with people but decided for now he would try to find an empty one. It's not that he didn't want to meet people and at least try and make friends it's just that he wasn't sure where to start and he didn't want to intrude. He walked through the train until finally, he found an empty compartment. He carefully dragged his trunk into the small compartment and placed in near the window, plopping on to the seat next to it. Of course not before tripping and falling into his trunk.
He dusted himself of and sat back and soon heard the whistle on the train go off and watched as the station moved by the windows as the train set off for the castle. Maverick decided that he might as well settle in and read to pass the time. He opened his trunk pulled out a very old and worn book. Now to anyone else, it would probably look like something a dog had chewed up and buried but it really was just an old book. It was his mother's old copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and it had definitely seen some things. It was his favorite book to sit and read. He did have a new copy for school but wanted his old one since it had all his notes in it. He happily curled up and started reading, his focus completely on the book.

The US after Paige left another compartment after a few minutes
As Paige roamed the hall, or whatever you may call it, of the train, she recalled what just happened. For one, she just chose to leave a compartment, she didn't get kicked out. But... that wasn't it. She just couldn't shake the feeling that this was all too good to be true. There's no point in asking why, she doesn't know the answer to that. So as she pulled her luggage, her kind was wondering. At last she found a decent compartment, it only had one person in there. Once she slid open the door, she was able to tell that he was a boy. By the way he was sitting there and reading Fantastic Beast and Where to find Them, an old copy, she could tell he wasn't a muggle born like her.
"Hey, uh. May I sit with you?" If he would say yes, she would thank him and than heave her luggage in. It was no secret that Paige was a petrified girl as you could tell by looking at her. Her hands hurt from pulling her heavily (for her, at least) packed bag. She sat down across from the boy and pulled out a book on plants. She knew nothing about anything but she at least hoped she could find some familiar plants at Hogwarts. She looked up from her book. "Oop, where are my manners. I'm Paige Chase. I'm a muggle born, so this is VERY strange right now." She laughed before continuing on. "Anyway, I've already been doing some reading. What house are you hoping for? From what I've read, I think maybe Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff would be a good fit for me." She smiled to the boy. @Maverick Anwyll

The Beginning of an Adventure
Maverick had been reading for sometime when he heard the door of the compartment open. He looked up slightly to see a girl with dark hair and a large bag standing in the doorway. She asked if she could sit here and he nodded his head slightly and watched as she sat in the seat across from him. She looked frightened and he wondered if it was become of him or it was just because she was new to this. He shook those thoughts out of his head and looked back down at his book, now on the page about Pixie's. He heard a rustling and looked up to see the girl had pulled out a book that appeared to be about plants.
Maverick considered striking up a conversation but before he could the girl started to speak. She introduced herself as Paige Chase and that she was a muggle born, which sort of explained why she looked so shaken. She continued on, explains that she had done some reading and had decided that Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff would be a good fit for her. She then asked what house he thought or wanted to be in. It took him a minute to catch up with the conversation, he hadn't prepared himself for this much. He decided though that he should start with an introduction and then continue from there. "I'm Maverick, Maverick Anwyll and I'm a Half-blood," he carefully said, closing his book slightly. "I'm not really sure what house I really want. My mum was a Hufflepuff but she's always said I would be a Ravenclaw so I guess I will probably end up in Ravenclaw," he continued, moving his hair from his eyes so he could see better.
He wanted to ask about her book, but wasn't sure what to say so he just stayed quiet. It was at these times where he wished he was sociable like his mother. He wasn't great around people he had just met but he was going to try his best to keep up a decent conversation.

The Beginning of an Adventure
"Nice to meet you, Maverik." She said this with a polite voice, her mother would be proud. She had suddenly become self-conscious in front of this boy, she didn't know why. She brushed her hair behind her right ear and looked down at her book. "Well, than maybe Ill see you in the common room sometime, if we end in the same house!" She laughed quietly before looking down again. She felt as if her face was pink, this was something she was yet to get over- sometime later in the year. But her face was definitely pink. She was blushing.
She flipped through her book, not really paying attention. She read this already millions of times, so she doesn't care. She looked out the window of the rushing by trees.
"What's it like? Coming from a magical family?" Paige's English accent broke the silence that had crept in the compartment. She would never know the answer herself, and she wanted to know. She felt like she would be... dumb. Like she wouldn't be prepared like everyone else would be. But she hoped that everyone would get along anyway. All the houses, she hoped, wouldn't be rivals. But as she read, that most likely wasn't going to happen, which is one of the reasons why she was nervous.

After Paige let out a nervous, Maverick watched as she looked back down at her book. He couldn't help but notice that for some reason her face had turned a shade of pink. He decided not to comment on it though, he didn't want to annoy or bother her. He decided to go back to his own book which he slowly opened back up. He quickly became engrossed in his book, once again completely oblivious to everything else. Time passed and he flipped slowly through the pages until he heard Paige speak again. This time she asked what it was like to come from a magical family.

Maverick had never known any other magical families so he only knew the way he was raised and what his mother had told him. " Well I suppose it really depends on the family. I grew up in the muggle world with a knowledge of both magical and non magical world. My mother was a pureblood though and she said before she went to Hogwarts had no idea what went on in the muggle world. I've never known any other magical families so I can't really tell you. If there is something specific you want to know about them then I tell you what I know but other than that I'm sorry," he told her, moving his hair from his eyes so he could see better.
