He Said She Said
Interacting with @Martyna Romero @Wyatt Starkey
As expected of a Slytherin, mercilessly throwing a barrel of insults towards her Hufflepuff companion, who were getting more and more subdued. Arissa was not amused by it, as Miss Montero was technically, her ally in gossips. However, she neither commented nor did she let out a smirk at the current state of her vice president - opting to stay silent, and regarded the boy with an indifferent gaze, though there's a hint of wariness in her eyes.
She closed her mouth as questions upon questions were asked, patting her finger on the table lightly. Grey eyes were watching the boy's expression, clearly both Slytherins were guarded, leaving the only sunshine in the group to release all her pent-up inside voices.
'Let it all out. Sprinkle your questions with some insults, if you must.'
She admittedly was slightly amused at the Hufflepuff's courage. Not long ago Miss Montero seemed intimidated by the Slytherin boy, but it seemed that her thirst for knowledge or gossip has managed to help her get over those feelings. That's -
'... a true gossiper, that child.'
Arissa rose her brows at the word 'traditional' coming out of her companion's mouth. Even with the incomplete sentence, the blond girl managed to understand the message that was conveyed. Traditional family, was what implied in the statement.
Finally taking pity on her ally's faltering confidence, she finally opened her mouth."What she's trying to say is, family with backward values. I'm sure I did not need to explain it further, I trust that you're not daft enough to not understand that." She added lightly, leaning her back against the chair.
It's rare that she actively adding her own points without being strategic, but this one was special.
"Are you done?" Casting a brief glance at the chatty girl, she spoke, before turning towards the boy once more.
"Now I believe it's my turn. You said you did not wish to be part from or related to..." She winced slightly. "The Death Eaters. However, having a rumor that last for a year is quite a feat. There must be a reason for that, don't you think? A valid reason why it have yet to be dismissed as mere rubbish talks. "
"Elegant and unruffled, impassioned yet unmoved...That's what I am, and that's what I must be."

He Said She Said
[font=times new roman]"Well, where'd the rumour come from then? I mean, its like, serious serious! And don't say its just because you're a Slytherin!" Really he always thought of the excuse that he was a Slytherin was rather pathetic. Seeing as less than half of the school really bothered to keep up the rivalry between houses. Wyatt simply disliked Gryffindors because most of the ones he’d met were boisterous pricks with a hero complex.
"I don't think anyone even cares about that stuff, unless you're from one of them traditional..." When she got to the word, she trailed off. Wyatt was familiar with what “traditional” meant in the wizarding world. It usually meant you were a blood purist. The fact that most of the school thought of him as someone from one of those families was just funny to Wyatt. His home life was very… not magical to say the least.
"But, um, it had to come from somewhere, didn't it?" Wyatt noticed that the girl was losing confidence. Much like a toddler on Halloween who ate all of her candy and was now coming to a crash after a few minutes of bouncing off the walls. The professional spoke up in her absence. "What she's trying to say is, family with backward values. I'm sure I did not need to explain it further, I trust that you're not daft enough to not understand that."
The Slytherin girl made sure her Badger friend was done talking before she moved on. "Are you done?"
"Now I believe it's my turn. You said you did not wish to be part from or related to... The Death Eaters." The Professional winced at the name. If the beliefs of the “Death Eaters” didn’t disgust him so, maybe he would’ve smiled at the effect that the name of a group he was “affiliated with” had on the girl. Instead, he rolled his eyes, pretending that little names like that didn’t have an effect on him, though if the girl spoke the name of the “Dark Lord,” he might’ve shuddered.
"However, having a rumor that last for a year is quite a feat. There must be a reason for that, don't you think? A valid reason why it have yet to be dismissed as mere rubbish talks." Wyatt hummed in agreement. He knew who started the rumor. Meredith Ready. But he’d always wondered if she was just a good guesser or knew about his family. Knowing the girl, it was more likely that she’d just… thought of it out of nowhere. But he wondered.
Ready was a Slytherin, but that didn’t mean she could’ve overheard Wyatt talking about his family or something of the sort. He didn’t talk about his family or his home life. Not ever. He never answered questions about his family truthfully either. Whenever anyone confronted him, he would give them a different answer than the last time a student dared to ask. But not once did he say he was related to Death Eaters.
So then it must be a silly, life-ruining coincidence, right? There was no way to disprove the rumor, and so it lingered. Just hanging over Wyatt’s head for eternity. If he was lucky, it would only hurt him until he graduated from Hogwarts. Wyatt bit back a sigh. His face was expressionless as he spoke, and his voice remained monotone. “People need a scapegoat, don’t they? A common enemy? I’m happy to be the antagonist.” He began. “I don’t need the constant approval of my peers, in fact, I thrive off of their hatred for me.”
“I’m mean. At this point, I’ve had a negative encounter with most of the students at Hogwarts. So someone decided to make up a rumor about me. That person is an idiot, so they decided to share the most awful, yet plausible rumor they could think of. As long as I act the way that I do, the rumor will haunt me. You wanted a valid reason? There it is.” Wyatt scoffed. “Merlin, how sad must you be to insert yourselves into the messy lives of others for fun.”
Though it may seem he was being incredibly honest, the details that really mattered were details he didn’t dare to share with the two gossiping first years before him. “Is this all you do? You sit and judge people based on rumors? How many do you think are true?” Wyatt was just trying to deflect the situation onto the Badger and the Snake, really. He was never a fan of being in the spotlight.

He Said She Said
Interacting with @Arissa Wright & @Wyatt StarkeyWhatever damage Tina did, Arissa came along with her quick wit and hard resolve and amended them all, her voice cool and neutral. She glanced to Wyatt, wondering if his reaction to his fellow Slytherin was a more positive one. Did they all talk and act like they were emotionally dethatched robots? She couldn't imagine living like that, but appreciated that Arissa could speak his language, whatever it may be.
Despite her adamance, however, Wyatt maintained his story. The Hufflepuff deflated into her seat as the thought that maybe she was just desperate for some story came worming into her brain, reminding her that not everything was excitement and evil and traumatic childhoods. Sometimes people were like her, only it was so easy to get used to the former when you were at Hogwarts.
As he continued on, sharp and spiteful and, honestly, very convincing, Tina only shrunk further, glancing apologetically at her gossip-loving partner. She'd been the one to initiate, after all, and thus she'd be to blame for derailing the conversation into a pointless false rumour. She felt worse about that than what she felt for poor Wyatt, who, if telling the truth, was just a victim of bullying. That was kind of messed up, for people to pick on him, but it was better than the rumour actually being true.
"Is this all you do? You sit and judge people based on rumors? How many do you think are true?"
"Lots of them are true..." Tina mumbled. She maintained her indignance from before, but overall looked sheepish and quiet, turning her eyes to the table. It felt like she was being reprimanded, and even if this comment was aimed at Arissa too, it was more as though she was sat at a table with her mother and father. She had to find a way to turn this around. "And, um... we're not judging you. It's only your family... I mean, it isn't, because it's not true, but-" Tina popped her mouth shut, puffing out her cheeks and screwing up her brow. She'd decided against speaking until she got her thoughts straight, because so far she really wasn't helping her case.
That was, until, a thought occurred to her.
If this rumour really was false, then surely it was her and Arissa's duty as founders of Hogwarts First-Ever Number-One Gossip Association to bust this myth! I mean, part of gossip was getting to the truth, wasn't it? ...Okay, maybe not, but they were virtuous! ...Okay, not that, either... The more she thought about it, the more it seemed to fall apart, but it was all she had.
"Let's just tell everyone the truth, then! People are BOUND to listen to you, right Arissa?" she said, slapping her fist purposefully down on the table and turning around to her friend. She wasn't actually sure if this was the case (I mean, Arissa was quite scary, only people didn't always respond to fear) but saying things out loud could make them seem more believable, so she went with it. "Then we've done you a job! See? That was like, a super productive conversation. What was that big word you used? Scrape-goat? Right. Just tell everyone that that's what they're doing, and then they'll realise how silly what they're saying is! I mean, Death Eaters! HAH! That's CRAZY! Nothing like that has happened at Hogwarts or anything!"
...

He Said She Said
Interacting with @Martyna Montero & @Wyatt Starkey
'Happy to be the antagonist, he said?'
Arissa raised her brows at that. She kind of expect that response, of course. However, to heard it straight from the other's mouth was quite shocking, and a part of her did want to see it with her own eyes - she wouldn't say no for free entertainment. In order to do that, she may need to keep an eye on that boy in the Slytherin Common Room.
She's too lazy to continue this avoiding game for much longer anyway.
When the boy called their little hobby 'sad', Arissa merely scoffed. 'Try telling that to those who attended grandmother's weekly tea parties,' she muttered inwardly. Despite her displeasure, she did not winced nor did she display any reactions that were synonymous to express guilt, as she did not feel such a feeling. She never claim to be an upright person anyway.
To say Arissa was not offended was an understatement. She was, truly, but it’s not like she wanted to give the boy the satisfaction of riling her up. She was much, much better at hiding it by now, thanks to the tea parties she was forced to attend.
But… “I wouldn’t say the purpose of it all is for mere entertainment. That would be quite pitiful, and a waste of time. And whether or not it was true, it's up to us to decide.” If she wanted fun, she wouldn’t be gathering rumors. In fact, she would make one just to see the chaos it would bring, no matter what the victim thought.
That would be entertainment.
But as it was not exactly her purpose, then she wouldn’t be doing that anytime soon. Based on her observation, between the Slytherin and Miss Montero besides her, the latter would be the one who’ll merrily spread rumors, considering her large circle of friends and all that. And speaking of the Hufflepuff, it took most of Arissa's patience to not step on the other girl's foot for putting their brand new club in a difficult position.
“Putting the fact that I’m not exactly the epitome of kindness aside, do you really think they would listen to what I say?” Disbelief was evident in her face, as she pointed to the boy sitting not far away from them. “Did you not see that smugness in his face? I can fare better when placed with a bunch of cats rather than humans.”
It may be her bias speaking, as he certainly did insult her hobbies moments before, despite the fact that she knew it was not exactly what a proper human would do, but whenever she looked at his face, she could only saw the smugness and arrogance.
“Besides,” she continued. “I do not see him being that bothered about the rumors much. He claimed it as such, so there's no need for this pointless idea to begin with.” He may have cared once upon a time, but right now, he was perfectly content with it. Arissa herself certainly like it when others were scared of her, what more the other Slytherin.
And with a low voice, she muttered, "And it's scapegoat, Martyna." It may be because she had low expectation in the other girl to begin with, or perhaps because of the fact that she's already used to the other's easy going personality, as Arissa's response was more of a resignation than blatant anger.
