Sorting Ceremony 2020-2021

Enzo was a very calm kid when it came to getting out of the comfort zone and experience something he never experienced before but this time his emotions were "boiling" inside of him, but only very attentive ones would manage to see that. Enzo was keeping a very calm and straight face.

Enzo wanted to look very confident before he walked into the hall he fixed his posture, put his chin up and was ready to go inside the hall....

Although Enzo is a very social kid, he did not want to interact with no one this moment, he looked at the other first years students and then brought back focus to the headmaster. While he was waiting for his name to be said he was thiking about his parents. Both of his parents attended this school, and they were jokingly arguing back home which house Enzo will end up in. His father was a Ravenclaw, and his mother was a Hufflepuff. They both wanted his son to end up in their house.

"I just wish that the sorting hat will place me in the house where I could be happy and surrounded with good people" - Enzo thought

While day dreaming and thinking he heard his name loudly " Enzo Brassard". At that time he felt that the time had stopped, he looked at everyone else, and took his first steps towards the hat. He sat down. He felt when the headmaster put the hat onto his head.

He closed his eyes, then gently opened them once again. Enzo tried to keep a very calm face and listened to every single word that the hat said:

" Enzo Brassard... I see yes..loyalty...Yes.. You are loyal to the ones you are close with, relationships with others are very important to you...I see it is easy for you to make friends...What else? Hmm.. Wilingless to learn, and your belief that knowledge is key....Interesting...I can see you are a whole mixture of traits.."

At this time Enzo wass very confused, because the traits that the hat mentioned were close to traits that Hufflepuff`s and Ravenclaw`s have.. He was getting more and more nervous he was imagining his parents in their houses. But the hat continued:

"What elsee... YES! Found it... I see that you dont lack courage, and you are brave..Yess.. Very brave..You dont like to quit..and very persistant.. This is what makes you extraordinary and stand out... I know a place for you kid...

GRYFFINDOR!!!

His legs were shaking.. His emotions finally started to be very clear outside.. He stood up and left, because of his emotions he forgot to thank both the headmaster and the hat itself.

Enzo was very happy with the decision the hat made, he was very excited.. He heard a lot of good things about the house..

"My parents will be shocked once they will know the house I got sorted in.. I wonder why I am different than they are.. Maybe it is because the mix of their traits.. whatever... Now I just need to find new friends to start my whole Hogwarts experience!"
Sorting Ceremony 2020-2021
There was not a single cloud in the sky as Rosalie and her fellow first years made their way up to Hogwarts castle, the excitement she felt threatening to bubble over. She turned her face to the full moon and smiled, wanting to throw her arms out and jump and cheer. She was finally at Hogwarts.

A shred of nervousness poked its way through her excitement as the lot of them drew closer, the heavy front doors swinging open in a wide arch. She'd been doing a lot of thinking about this day, and she still didn't have a clue as to what house she was going to end up in. Would her mother be disappointed if she wasn't in Ravenclaw? Nate seemed to think there was absolutely no way she'd end up there with him, but mum had remained quiet on the whole topic. Rosalie twirled a blonde curl around her finger. There was hardly a use in worrying about it now though, right? For better or worse, she'd have her house before the night was over.

A hush fell over the house tables as she and the others entered the room, and soon, the Headmaster began to speak. She really did try to pay attention to his words, but she was having a hard time reigning herself in. Her eyes flicked between the enchanted ceiling, the professors, and the older students until they finally fell on her brother. Seeing him settled her, and she held in a giggle as he winked and angled his head toward the Headmaster. The Ceremony was beginning!

Rosalie knew it would be a while yet before her name was called, and as she watched the other first years get sorted, she tried to remember as many faces as she could. Which students would become her fellow housemates, and her future friends? As the Headmaster made his was through the alphabet, Rosalie bounced her weight from one foot to the other. It was almost time.

"Rutherford, Rosalie"

Clambering on to the stool before her, Rosalie tucked her trembling hands up under her legs, watching the Headmaster's movements with wide eyes as he made to set the famous Sorting Hat onto her head. What did he see? Oh, Merlin, could he see everything? He wasn't going to tell the Headmaster about the times she'd fed ice cream to the cat, was he? No, that'd be silly. Surely the Sorting Hat didn't care about something like that. Right? The thoughts raced through her head so quickly it was a surprise that she managed to keep track of them at all.

A chuckle that didn't belong to her echoed through her head, and Rosalie froze. She wasn't sure what she'd been expecting, but it wasn't an ancient scrap of fabric laughing at her. Crap. Was that rude? Great, now the hat was laughing at her, and she was being rude. For the first time, she was afraid of what words the Sorting Hat would echo across the hall. Maybe it wasn't an issue of Ravenclaw or not. Maybe the issue was she didn't belong here at all, and the Sorting Hat was going to cry out that she was a Muggle, and was to be sent home immediately. Of course, she knew that there was anything wrong with being a muggle, but she just...wanted to be here.

"Dear child, calm yourself. Such energy and drive you have. Slytherin could benefit you, but no, that's not quite right. I see loyalty and...And there it is! No, there is no denying that boldness, that courage. Indeed, I know exactly where you belong, my dear. Let her be...

Gryffindor!"

Rosalie laughed in delight, her hands covering her mouth. She was meant to be here, and Gryffindor...it was perfect.

At the time that Enid stepped into the Great Hall, she looked up and saw many candles levitating. She was afraid that the wax would melt and drip onto her new black robe. But she can’t move her eyes from the ceiling. It looks like a night sky with many stars on it.

There are four long tables where the older student, when the new coming student is feeling surprised about the Great Hall, the older student is also watching them with interest. Enid’s father had told her before that red colours represent Gryffindor, where her father and grandfather come from. Blue colours represent Ravenclaw, where her grandmother and aunty come from. And green represents Slytherin, where her uncle comes from, Yellow represents Hufflepuff, However there is no one in her family studying in Hufflepuff before.

Enid had asked her father before about which house that her father wished her to study in. But her father just said “Just follow your heart,Enid”

“Enid Smith”

When her name was called, she felt nervous and excited . Enid followed the instruction and sat on the chair. She felt more nervous because there were many pairs of eyes staring at her.

When the sorting hat is on her head, a voice sounded,

“Oh a Smith? Your family is so difficult to sort. I remember that I had sorted your family to Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin before.”

Enid swallowed, She got some research about these three houses before, and her grandfather hoped that she could go to Gryffindor.

“Ok let’s see, Smart but not so much, Maybe ambitious? Hmmm, nope , definitely not Slytherin. Look like you will go to the same house with your father… but wait...”

“Yes ?” Enid asked, she felt very nervous and a little bit hungry right now, she just hoped that the sorting hat could be more faster.

“I had found a most suitable house for you, you are the special one”said by sorting hat with a excited voice

“HUFFLEPUFF”yelled by the sorting hat ,and another loud clapping sound came from the Hufflepuff table.

When seeing the smile on the Hufflepuff older student, Enid knows that Hufflepuff will be a nice house for her.

I went to the great hall, Not surprised by the beauty as many of the other students were. I've been told the stories of the great hall all my life, so i could remain calm when i saw it. My parents figured the calmer i was, the more likely i would be in slytherin. I didnt seem reasonable, but it worked. Everyone in my family has been slytherin, so its natural for them to expect the same for me. I want to be in slytherin as well, who wouldnt? The house told to be full of power, and cunningness. Home to purebloods, anyone not seems absurd. My nerves started taking over but my name gets called, and i forget everything.
"Jones, Elliot!"
I manage to keep my cool, i walked up there, with a smirk and looked as if i owned the place. the hat is placed on my head, and barely seems to even consider.
"Another Jones hm? Better be SLYTHERIN
I stand up once the hat is removed from my head and fix my hair, the slytherin table is cheering and i feel myself fill up with pride as I walk over and take a seat, continuing my families legacy.

Blair stepped into the Great Hall, already exhausted from the anxiety of the journey to the castle. She looked around her, feeling the eyes of the older students upon her and her fellow first years. Although her mother was a witch, and she had heard countless tales of the magic of the Great Hall, experiencing it in person was amazing.

She zoned out as the other students' names were called, lost in her own thoughts. I feel like I don't fit the mold for any house... she thought, the anxiety mounting in her stomach. She had always been well-rounded, and a jack of all trades, per say. Blair's mother, a Ravenclaw, seemed confident that her daughter would follow in her footsteps. Blair wasn't so sure.

"Rhodes, Blair!"

Blair took a deep breath, her legs feeling like jelly as she stepped up and placed the Sorting Hat on her head. It seemed like it took forever for the Hat to finally speak. "Yes....a desire to help others and show kindness to all...I see..." the Hat whispered into her ear. Blair swallowed, her mouth feeling like cotton.

"Better be..... HUFFLEPUFF!"

Blair breathed out as she took the hat off her head and stood up. The Hufflepuff table had erupted into cheers. She smiled as she walked over to the Hufflepuff table, feeling like she had found a place to call home.

Kate waited for her turn. And when someone was sorted she clapped for them. While Kate was waiting she looked around. *Wow...* *I can't believe that this is real.* She saw the floating candles which made her think about how they could float without dropping. *They must have a spell on them.* She saw the long tables where people were sitting down on a chair eating among people from their house. It was weird seeing all the people being wizards and witches it was like Kate was in a fantasy book or film. * Why would my mother have chosen to live like a muggle?* Many other questions got into her mind but when she was daydreaming she heard her name. Kate Brown! Kae lept to the stool and sat on it feeling a little bit nervous. *No Slytherin, please..* The sorting hat was placed on her head and she was ready. Interesting... A half-blood... You are willing to learn about magic, don't you? 'Yes.., Kate replied. You are not much of a social person but that doesn't matter. And you know a lot like i say a lot about animals. I see. You have the right to belong in... Ravenclaw! Kate was a bit surprised when everybody started clapping for her. She stood up and walked towards the Ravenclaw table and sat next to another girl.

'This place is incredible', Grayson thought to himself. He'd never seen such a grand space. The building was so large and formidable, he couldn't help but think that if it were empty it would be incredibly spooky and a single person such as himself would be swallowed up by the sheer vastness. However, when he looked around the room and the hundreds of excited faces, he realised that the chances of him ever being alone here were so slim that any fear he felt was immediately stamped out.

Grayson's attention was drawn to the headmaster as he read out the first name. A student approached the old wizard and sat on the stool beside him. The sorting hat was placed atop the child's head and with one look at the students nervous face, Gray was suddenly struck by how anxious he was to approach that chair himself. He felt silly being jittery. After all he had experienced today, a talking hat could hardly compare to running through a solid brick wall, or watching someone put a wriggling chocolate frog in their mouth. He had even seen a newspaper that seemed to have a .gif on the front page! Gray had so many questions swimming around in his mind.

"Grayson McNabb."

Gray snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of his name. He didn't realise how long he had been lost inside his head. Without hesitation Gray walked up the stairs towards the Headmaster, smoothing down his blond hair and straightening his robes as he went. He gave the older man a smile and took his seat.

The hat was lighter on his head than he had anticipated. He raised his eyebrows in surprise when a voice spoke to him.
"Mmm yes. Eager to learn. Loyal... but ambitious. I see potential. Cunning... an untapped strength. Right, better be... SLYTHERIN!" The hat shouted and one of the tables erupted with cheers. Gray grinned at the welcome he recieved from his new house, he could tell he would fit in seamlessly. The hat was removed and Gray said a small thanks to the headmaster before taking off towards the table that had cheered for him. He was thankful for their response, otherwise he wouldn't have known which table to go to. He didnt fully understand the houses yet and the basis on which people were sorted. He was just glad to have a place to belong.

Bella looked around the Great Hall. Her face didn't show any expression but her eyes glimmered with amazement. After so many years, she was finally there. Her parents had told her all about Hogwarts, especially about the Great Hall. They had told her that all the food there was amazing, appearing on the golden plates. They had also told her that the ceiling reflected the sky outside. Bella looked up and noticed that they were right.

Bella looked back down at the people sitting at the tables. She looked down at the floor, embarrased at so many people watching. She was always nervous when being the center of attention. She stood there while the sorting hat sang and watched people being sorted while those houses cheered. Bella was just standing there when she heard,

"Bella, Claw!"

Bella nervously walked over to where the sorting hat was. She put it on her head and waited for the hat to talk. Well, well, well. Who do we have here? A smart student yet rude and selfish. Should I put you in Ravenclaw for your smartness? Or should I put you in the house for your selfishness. I think it will be,

"SLYTHERIN!!!" Shouted the sorting hat to the Great Hall.

The Slytherin table erupted with cheers. Bella took off the hat and walked over to the table and sat down. Bella knew she would belong. She was just like the Slytherins. Still embarrased, Bella looked at her hands in her lap then looked up to the other Slytherins. A slight smile formed in her face. Yes, she would fit in just fine.

I am Bella Claw. I am a girl. I love Warrior Cats, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Maze Runner.

He knew that Hogwarts was a large school, yet until he actually rode across the Great Lake and entered the Great Hall, a bit of repetition perhaps, he never appreciated the vastness of it all. Hogwarts was massive, far from his middle class dwelling. Far from the much larger estate of his Greek relatives. He thought that perhaps in the whole world there were this many wizards but this building only contained a small portion of the children learning magic. A subpopulation, limited to the UK. This was in fact a small sample of the wizarding population and it left him in awe.

The actual ceremony took hours (presumably). A welcome to newcomers and a greeting for those that had returned. He would see his cousin standing apart from the other Ravenclaws, a bit of a loner. How unexpected.

His name would finally be called: Mathias Pride.

He would walk to the front of the mess hall turned auditorium with an erect posture and a proud expression. First impressions were often lasting. He would take care to cultivate the right appearance. Meek, humble and kind. Smart, considerate and most importantly capable. He would shake (if allowed) the Headmaster's hand, his choice of attire was odd. He wondered if that hinted what sort of experience his tenure at this prestigious magical academy offered.

The hat placed on his crown, his rear on a stool. The hat would mutter about what it thought, what it found. Mathias' hands would feel numb and his head slightly faint when the hat mused in his ear. "Duplicitous and smart, you have the cleverness to achieve your ends... But they are not just your ambitions are they?"

The sorting hat was right. Mathias' heart was in his throat.

It did not take the hat long, it likely knew the answer before it was placed on the wizard's head. "Slytherin!" The hat victoriously declared and a weight was lifted from his shoulders. A degree of separation. Freedom in part from his familial legacy and expectation. "Thank you," Mathias muttered as he waited for the hat to be lifted from his head. He would not dally there in front of the congregation, rather he would quickly make his way to the quadrant reserved for snakes such as himself.

Sorting Ceremony 2020-2021
It was just as Jaen imagined; hundreds of students sporting different colored attire, floating lamps high above her head, a long table at the back of the room hosting the professors, and...well, her sister so happened to forget to mention that freakin' starry night sky right above her. As she waited in line with the rest of the first-years waiting to be sorted she couldn't help but gaze up at the ceiling, which reflected the darkness outside. The waning moon winked at her before disappearing behind a cloud, reminding her that she could always count on it as per usual when she felt unsure.

And she was surely unsure about this sorting ceremony business. Soon Jaen's name would be called, whereas she would be sorted into one of the four houses that she'd stay in for her next seven years. Now while she knew that the choosing was out of her hands, Jaen felt like her thoughts could somehow influence the hat to put her into something she was more keen on. But the problem was that the girl had no clue which house she favored more.

All of them sounded good enough to her, so it shouldn't really have been an issue, but Jaen disliked indecisiveness, especially from herself. Even though that feeling was a rarity for her, it always left her feeling lost and confused and she liked being sure. And her house was kind of a big deal, since it would determine a lot of things, especially socially.

Jaen kept balling and unballing her fist as her mind wondered which house she fit in. She felt like the hat would either put her in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, given her personality, but her older sister Charisma, a Ravenclaw, said that the hat looked beyond the trivial things and deep into the heart. Her youngest older brother Benny, a Hufflepuff, agreed, saying it was all about what was inside, while the elder brother Wylan, a Slytherin, claimed that anyone who'd ever done a truly savage thing went straight to the house of snakes. That had made all of than chuckle, knowing how wicked the boy was.

"Hevage, Jaen." The young girl stepped forward wearily and made her way over to the seat. She eyed the hat before sitting down and putting it over her brow. Jaen's eyes darted around the room before locking eyes briefly with her sister, who gave her a double thumbs up.

"Another Hevage? My, four within but seven years..." There was a brief silence while she assumed that the hat was busy digging around her head, finding God knows what in there. Jaen attempted to fill her mind up with as many happy and wholesome memories so it'd steer away from Slytherin. Some of those students looked very fiendish indeed.

"Ah, yes," sighed the hat, quite dully, as if he was almost bored with what he'd found. That made Jaen purse her lips; she thought her memories were pretty exicitng actually, not that this flimsy hat would know anything about that, collecting dust God knows where for nearly the entire year. "But of course, you shall be in...GRYFFINDOR."

Jaen grinned, having figured she'd be a lion. It only made the upmost sense. She made her way over to the table as someone magically changed her blackntie into a crimson red one, making her as one of the Gryffindors. She felt proud already, eager for whatever was in store for her in tbe upcoming year.
