Eri windstone was walking out by herself on the Hogwarts grounds. It was rather peaceful for the Ravenclaw girl. The sun was shining on the lake making a reflection upon it's glassy surface. The brunette picked up a stone and tossed it into the peaceful lake sending ripples upon it's once still surface.
All Eri wanted on her walk was peace and that is what she got so far. She was alone and nobody there to interrupt her piece. The brunette was looking for a nice place to read the books that were currently in the satchel that hung from her shoulder. There eight books all about different things like, transfiguration, DADA, charms, potions, magical creatures, defensive spells, dueling, and history of magic. She was considered a book worm by some of her piers. It didn't bother her anyways.
She would often be found taking a walk outside to vent off some steam. The Ravenclaw always seem to get very irritated At the smallest things. Like if someone is five minutes late for something, or if they were even one second later, and a bunch of other stupid things to be irritated at.
She continued her peaceful walk until she heard someone walking behind her. Then she thought, Who is interrupting my peace now?

Bella, with literally zero hobbies (aside from knitting, of course), had taken quite an interest in the lake. More specifically, mermaids. She wasn't a muggle-born, thank heavens, so she didn't have the stereotypical 'little mermaid' image for them in her head, in fact she'd heard they were quite slimy. Gross.
Leeds wasn't too far from the ocean, and she'd had her own experience with the fishy creatures, it wasn't at all pleasant and since then she'd developed a certain distaste for them (you would too if you'd been spat at in the face). So naturally, with her superb ability to hold a grudge 5+ years, she planned on making every day as difficult for them as possible.
There wasn't anyone around, aside from some nerd, reading or whatever. She did look like she was concentrating, but honestly, Bella's hatred for sea creatures was a little more important to her at the moment.
"Take that you filthy sea breathers!" She charged full force at the lake, hurdling a collection of rocks and pebbles (courtesy of the gobstones club) into the lake, half trampling over a few books in the process.
"AND THIS!" She flung a, rather pointy, silver hairpin into the water to follow (her parents would just buy her a new one), then watched the lake in satisfaction as her screams echoed across the water.

Eri nearly dodged out of the way of Bella Krosse. Was she not watching out for other people. Apparently not. "Excuse me, Watch where you are going. Also whatever sea creatures you are attacking might come up and attack you." She added that last part as a joke.
Eri walked over to a nice tree and sat down and pulled a book out on transfiguration. She opened the book and began to read it. Very quickly she became quite engrossed and started to become unaware of her surroundings. She hoped that Hufflepuff girl would be quiet so she could read in the peace that got interrupted.
The brunette sat quietly and observed the girl while reading. Whatever creatures she was throwing stuff at might come and attack her, but that was a joke. They mainly live in the middle of the lake and would probably not notice the rocks she threw at them. "What creatures are you mad at?" This girl seemed pretty mad at whatever was in the lake. Maybe the giant squid, or the mermaids, or some other creature that lives in the lake, but this girl was interrupting her piece and she was getting pretty mad.

"I don't think that's any of your business, is it?" Bella snorted and swept her hair back, not bothering to turn to the stranger.
"Besides, I'm just having a little fun, or do Ravenclaws even know what that word means?" She tilted her head back and let an unconvincing smile curl onto her rosy lips, "You are a Ravenclaw, aren't you?"
She actually didn't mind Ravenclaws much, they were quite close to Slytherins, and that's where she truly wanted to be. She might be a Hufflepuff, but that wouldn't keep her from speaking her mind. If anything, it encouraged her to do so even more, just to prove she wasn't stereotypical.
"I figured you were with the whole... nerd thing you've got going on over here." She dismissively nudged a book with her foot, how could anyone spend their free time reading anyhow? She was somewhat attractive, surely she had friends, didn't she have anything better to do?
But that was none of her business.
"But if you must know, mermaids. If it wasn't obvious already." She shrugged and turned back to the water, straightening the lace around her collar.

Wow that Hufflepuff is very.. not sterotypical. "I am a ravenclaw.Plus mermaids live in the center of the lake along with the giant squid and other creatures. So no it wasn't obvious." She glared as the girl touched her book with her shoe. "Don't touch my book with your disgusting shoe. I don't know where it has been." Eri normally wouldn't care but this was a library book and she always tried to keep them as perfectly clean as she could. This girl seemed like she should be in Slytherin. She had the additude and spoke her mind. Not all Slytherins have additude, but some do.
"I don't care if you don't want to know but my name is Eri Windstone. You wanted to be Slytherin, didn't you? You speak your mind to much to have wanted Hufflepuff." She smiled. If this girl wanted to aggrivate Eri then she might as well make the hufflepuff feel like she wasn't good enough for Slytherin. "Maybe you were to soft and sterotypical like a Hufflepuff to become a Slytherin." She gathered all of her books and sat them next to her. This girl was getting on Eri's last nerve. Why couldn't this have just been a peaceful day?

Bella's brow twitched in the slightest as the brunette tapped into the still sore topic of the 'house sorting debacle', as she liked to call it. And who on earth did this girl think she was?
"I'm not soft!" Her posture stiffened and she looked down her nose at Eri, "What happened with my sorting was a- a mistake that's all. And don't expect it to be permanent, my mother will likely have it fixed by the end of the semester!"
She heaved a breath and rolled her shoulders back, "Besides, I'd rather be a Hufflepuff than a stuffy Ravenclaw like yourself."
She hadn't planned on getting in a row today, but drama sprouted at her feet like daisies, and she was always the one who sowed it. Those who were closest to her knew she was just naturally problematic, and conflict between them was never held longer than a day. But she held less respect for strangers, and judged people mainly, if not by blood, on their credentials, something she couldn't consider with those she wasn't well acquainted with. So it was always guilty until proven innocent in her world, and she was a tough judge, too stubborn to look deeper than image.
"Why am I even talking to you? Why don't you get back to your little books then, birdy?"

"I see I struck a sore wound. The sorting hat doesn't make mistakes. I know you aren't soft. I was just a bit mad that you came out here interrupting the peaceful day I was having only to yell at me for asking what you were doing." Eri said calmly at the girl. She knew that she went a bit to far with the Hufflepuff girl. She clearly didn't want to be in that house at all.
Eri shook her head and picked up a book and began to read it. "Don't think that calling me a bookworm or a nerd is going to offend me. I have been called that name to many times in my child hood for it to affect me now. I suppose I owe an apology for my abrupt actions and attitude. So, I'm sorry." She really didn't mean it and you could tell by the tone of her voice that she was just saying something she really didn't mean. In her opinion the other girl owed her an apology instead of the other way around. Also she still didn't know the girls name and that was a bit annoying. Eri liked being formal but with enemies she did not care anymore.

I'm sorry for the late replies! My account won't alert me about posts for some reason, weird.
Bella lifted her brows at the girl, it obviously wasn't her first time around the block. She was a bit irritated by her as-a-matter-of-factual tone, but then again, she was aggravated by everything so it really didn't matter.
"Well, apology accepted." She fluttered her lashes and straightened her sweater, turning to go, "But don't expect an apology from me, because you can bet that big brain of yours that you're not getting one. But you're probably used to that anyways."
She wasn't too sure how to handle apologies, they made her uncomfortable. Admitting wrongfulness was something she wasn't ever taught to do, and as much as she enjoyed being right, she felt somewhat awkward receiving them, and would never be able to force one out of her own mouth.
She might not have effectively angered the mermaids, but she'd seemingly peeved a Ravenclaw, and that was satisfying enough she supposed. She would secretly take the whole 'mermaids live in the middle' thing into consideration, but she'd never admit it.
"Well, good luck with the books I guess. See you around, birdy!" She made note to step on the cover of the books as she left.

"Don't you dare step on the books." She practically growled at the girl. "These are library books. Not mine. So don't get your nasty shoes on these clean books." Eri stood up now and drew her wand. Of course she wasn't going to fire any spells, but did the hufflepuff know that? Probablly not. Eri was aggrivated that the girl thought attitude would help her in life. "Alright. I don't expect an apology from you but you aggrivated this book worm and you are going to be sorry. I know how to use some spells." This girl had literally made Eri mad. Madder than mad. She was about to explode in anger.
Eri put her wand up and closed her eyes as she sat back down. She took deep hreaths to calm herself down. The brunette place all the books back in her bag and forced a smile onto her face. She tried to forget the Hufflepuff's attitude and her rude behavior. She didn't need to start a fight between another student. That would not end up very well for either of them. Eri would most likely get in serious trouble for firing a spell at another student on purpose.
