The song came to an end and Anastasia showed the room another type of dance - the Viennese Waltz. The music started back up again, and Lucia decided that she was most definitely following Carolyn's lead on this one.
So she did - Lucia spent the next few minutes copying the Ravenclaw's moves until she felt confident enough to dance without staring at her feet. Dancing, she quickly discovered, required more than a natural talent, a feel for rhythm, and music. You also needed to know what you were doing in order to not crash into your partner, and luckily Carolyn knew what she was doing.
It wasn't too hard, Lucia decided, but when Anastasia came over and offered a word of advice she stared at the older girl without even realising. Shs just couldn't draw the comparison between this girl and the Beckett who had beaten up Scarlett. If it wasn't for the unnerving air around the older Gryffindor, Lucia would have assumed that she had got the wrong person.
As soon as Anastasia had moved on to the next pair, Lucia stumbled, her concentration brokenm "Sorry," she murmured to Carolyn.

”Thank you.” Carolyn smiled at her partner gratefully. Despite knowing the steps, it was her first time leading and she wasn’t sure if she was doing a good job. Still seeing how they didn’t stumble over each other it must have been at least okay.
“Now that we're warm and have hopefully all arrived, we're going to move on to a Viennese Waltz.” Anastasia’s voice echoed through the room once the music ended. The young Ravenclaw was pleased to hear that since Viennese Waltz and Tango were her favorite ballroom dances. It was however definitely more difficult than foxtrot. Carolyn smiled at Lucia encouragingly. “Don’t worry we can take it slow and start without turns."Anastasia’s description of the steps was good but even so, for the beginner it might have been challenging. Carolyn knew for sure that if they did some modern dances that she didn’t practice, she would struggle as well.
Carolyn was impressed. Lucia was clearly doing her best and she put all the effort in doing the same. She was good at this particular dance but she needed to lead well in order to help her partner. That was her challenge for today. All the while they were dancing, the club president circled the room giving advice here and there, their pair included. Lucia seemed to be feeling guilty for it but the Ravenclaw simply shook her head. “Don’t worry about it. Constructive criticism is good. How else would we improve if nobody told us what we are doing wrong?” Truly, Carolyn didn’t mind being corrected as long as the intention was good. She always strived to be the best version of herself. If Anastasia kept making comments with sole purpose of bringing them down, she would definitely mind but that was not the case so all was good in her book.

Ana glanced at the time and saw that the meeting was nearing its end. There had been a few latecomers, but all in all, the meeting had gone better than she could have hoped. Smiling, she let the song finish before removing the record from the gramophone. "Lovely job, everyone," she said brightly. "I'll see all of you at our next meeting."
Ana began to tidy up, thoughts drifting to various upcoming homework assignments and exams. Dancing had helped to clear her head for the hour, and she hoped that the rest of the club members had enjoyed the meeting as much as she had. She hadn't planned on teaching people, exactly, but that was what had happened. All in all, it certainly could have been worse, and hopefully, the more experienced dancers had enjoyed getting to practice a bit for the upcoming ball.
Once the last person had left, Ana gave the room a final glance to make certain she hadn't left anything important and exited, closing the door with a satisfying click. The club's very first meeting had not gone very well for Elisabeth. It was not necessarily terrible, but it was not a good one, either. She had come late, no one particularly spoke (and paid attention) to her in a friendly manner, and basically there was not much to do. Sure they practiced foxtrot and this was not a chatting club, but still, she wished there had been more friendly interactions between the club members.
Bueno... *) perhaps there had been an ice-breaker and self-introduction session at the beginning of this meeting, and it was her own fault that she could not join since she arrived late. Still, the Hufflepuff hoped some time soon they would have an outside-club friendly gathering, maybe a picnic or something like that, just so everyone could get to know each other better.
The girl who had acted as the dance instructor informed them that the meeting for the day was over. Elisabeth went to gather her things, which she had left in a corner earlier - just a jacket and her bag. Without speaking to anyone, the first-year left the room, wondering if she ought to come to the next meeting or simply withdraw her name from the club.
Maybe she could give it one or two other chances. If after that things still had not improved, then she could quit, which was actually a pity because she loved classical dances very much. So yeah... she would come to the next meeting, hoping it would turn out better than this one.
