A 'grade' has two meanings. Either a school year or a mark on a paper.
Your grade, as in your school year, starts in first grade and ends in 12th grade. There are 3 mandatory levels of school: Elementary School, Middle School (Also known as Junior High school), and High School. To fail a grade you have to do badly in all subjects and not get along with all your classmates. (At least, that's what I think. I've never had to be held back before, so I'm not completely sure) Pretty much, not taking school seriously results in "A failed grade", but it is not usually phrased this way. Rather, it is called being "Held back" because you must repeat that grade over, and you're being "held back" from moving on.
Your grade, as in a mark on your paper, is given to you by a teacher. Usually it is written in the top of a corner, and is an alternative for "100%" or "7/8". It is measured by the letters of the alphabet. It starts at "A" then goes to "B" then "C". These are all known as 'passing' grades. If you get a "D" or an "F" you have failed. (Sorry if you already knew all this )
I've never heard of "Go down a grade" before, but it doesn't sound good XD

@Lucia Fox i think i might know what 'go down a grade' means. (correct me if i'm wrong haha.) say you were originally going to get a B+ for your overall grade, but then you fail the next test and that brings you down to a B. that's going down a grade. it's definitely not good o.o

Is anyone else having a problem with putting in their character's birthday on their profile? Gia's birthday is on February 23, 2009 but for some reason I can't put in the 23. . .

I believe the spot for the month and date is switched around. So it would be DD/MM/YY, so when it is viewed on your profile you will see her birthday in the order of 23 February, 2009.
