Hello! I am Christine (or Caroline), you can call me whatever.

In the past, I've thought I was Bi, then I decided I was Asexual Demiromantic, but then I realized that it was far more complicated than that and more than I had ever imagined in my wildest dreams. Now, I say that I am HeteroDemisexual Cryptoromantic (look it up if you are unsure of what it means).

I hope to gain a better understanding of my romantic orientation because there is just a massive grey area for me where romantic, sensual, platonic, and aesthetic attraction falls for most "normal" people. (I use normal very loosely) Things just kinda float in the blob and I'm unsure if it's a crush, or if I just want to be really close friends with them, or if I just think they're pretty. This makes it even worse for me to determine whether I am something like Bi- or Panromantic because what I think might be romantic attraction to another female might just be me thinking she is pretty.

The worst part is that my whole family and, subsequently, the community we immerse ourselves in are super-hyper-religious and would flip if they knew I wasn't straight. It has caused me several identity crises and I cry almost every night because I don't even know who or what I am anymore.

Hey @Christine Garner !

Figuring out ones sexual and romantic orientation can be very tricky some of the time. The most important thing is that you search for what is most comfortable and feels most right to you, I mean some people decide to avoid labels all together. You know yourself better than anyone else

Also I am very sorry to hear you are not getting the support you need from the people around you, but just remember that everyone here accepts you, and supports you for exactly who you are. There's always someone here who will be there for you.
