How the Ink Flows
I bite my lip at her question. I dont want her to get the wrong idea about wizards, not all purebloods are like that... I'M not like that.
"well the reasons could be listed for hours but, long story short, she thinks that not being born from wizards makes you almost unworthy to be a wizard, or unimportant. She also believes that wizards are better then muggles...I dont believe in that though! And your completely worthy to be a wizard, i bet youll be great!" i said the last parts quickly, not wanting her to get the wrong idea about me.
When have i ever cared what other people thought about me? I was just fine not caring... whats going on? Is it a good thing? I think to myself and bite my lip harder until i started tasting blood. "ah shit.." I whisper under my breath. I touch the cut with my finger and wince. well that wasnt supposed to happen... i think to myself. I wipe the blood off my finger onto my skirt and try to act like nothing happened, though i know its not a very convincible act considering how i acted just a minute ago.

Unworthy? Unimportant? Gabriella frowned. How could anyone think those things just because of who her parents were? She knew Elliot didn't believe those things, but even so - it didn't make her feel any better.
Now she was reluctant to talk to people elsewhere in the castle, too. How could she if there was a possibility they might hate her very existence? And how hard would her life in the wizarding world be? Did a lot of people hate muggle-borns - or was it just an unfortunate coincidence that one of the first people she met hated them?
I guess I may as well ask Elliot.
"So how common is it, to, you know - hate Muggles?" asked Gabriella. "Is it a lot of wizards, or just a few?" She felt silly saying it, but there was no point in not asking. "And is there a way to tell who is good and who is bad?"
She glanced at Elliot anxiously, realising that she had just called him mother bad.
"I mean to say - how can you tell whether a person will like Muggles or not?" She wasn't sure if that would cover up her mistake, but at least she had given it a try.

@Gabriella Haworth
Oh god.. I've buried myself into a hole.. i just shouldn't have said anything... I think to myself, slightly panicking.
Just tell the truth.. it should be ok...
"Um well... It's not everyone... It used to be a lot more common for purebloods to think like that, but it's not so much anymore. I mean some people think like that still obviously, and those people try to drill it into their children since practically birth."
Like me... i think. I knew it was wrong but talking to gabby makes me realize how horrible it is to be like that...
"My dad doesnt care that much, but my mom obviously... does. Me and my little sister were taught that we were better... Once I kind of figured it out that it was bad i tried telling my sister that she shouldn't think like that but... She's young and i can't spend as much time with her now that i'm here."
how to tell? thats hard if you haven't spent much time with them
"Well, if you overhear them talking about them being worse that's an obvious sign, if someone tells you to avoid someone because they are like that then you might wanna leave them alone... It's hard to tell but a lot of wizards are better about it then before so you should be fine..."

"Ok," said Gabriella, relieved that it was only a tiny minority of pure-bloods who had those views. And there she had been imagining a life full of rejection... Although she didn't like this term 'pure-blood'. It sounded disdainful, condescending even. But then, it was probably come up with by the same kind of person as Elliot's mother, and was probably supposed to sound superior.
My blood is no less pure than Elliot's! she thought to herself. Elliot's mum is basically saying I have dirty blood! She paused and forced herself to re-evaluate her thoughts. Any views Elliot's family might have were none of her business. Elliot was her friend - who cared what his family thought of her?
Gabriella checked her watch. It was late; a lot later than she had thought. "I should probably go," she said. "I'm really sorry. Should we meet somewhere and talk again? It might be difficult, since we're not in the same house, but we'll make it work!" She smiled at Elliot, happy that she had found a friend, and happy that she had persevered with Elliot - despite the unpleasant facade she had put on when they had first met. But Gabriella could tell that Elliot was actually nice - and not really unpleasant at all. "I'll send you an owl about where we can meet," said Gabriella, "if I have any ink left, that is. Is that ok with you?"

"sure, i would love to meet up with you again sometime, and if you ever need any ink i have plenty for you to use. "I pause for a moment "And don't worry, your going to be a great witch. I'd bet money on it." I smile at her for the first time all night.
maybe friends are worth it to have after all...I guess it's nice to think someone is there for you i think to myself, and start to rethink previous thoughts from earlier that night
"well i guess I will see you later then." I grab my book and stand up and started walking out, but i turned and did a little wave to her first, then went back to my stone facade and signature smirk after i turn back around.
just because one person is nice doesn't mean i can trust them all. I learned that lesson a while ago. I have a reputation to uphold after all. I walk out of the library and slam the door behind me, and i'm ninety seven percent sure i heard someone let out a yelp and the fluttering of pieces of parchment inside. just the way i like it. I whisper as i leave.
