Bayleigh Boone, Ravenclaw

Bayleigh lived an immaculately quiet life for the first eleven years of her existence. Every morning she would watch as her mother, Moira, combed her wily, thick brunette hair, before preparing breakfast for the rest of the family. Her father, a gruff and rugged man named Donnie, would far too quickly depart into the rolling hills toward flocks of off-white sheep. Bayleigh would tend to the farm alongside her mother from dawn to dusk, in the grey and desolate northern weather. All she had ever known was Uig, a small smattering of houses against the backdrop of Scotland's Outer Hebrides. Days blurred together rather easily, scarily so. Three days out of the week, Bayleigh would attend the local village school, where she excelled greatly. She often caused disturbances, however, due to her endless boredom with the measly education provided. Fortunately for Bayleigh's teachers and parents, the farm and fields would occupy her for the remainder of the week, where chores and duties were plentiful.
One particular chore given to Bayleigh by her father on a rare sunny day in late June proved quite unusual. The Boone cottage was in dire need of a fresh coat of paint, and Bayleigh was the only family member available to complete the task, which naturally fell under her responsibility. Needless to say, the young girl was not particularly pleased with such a monumental undertaking. Bayleigh was so angry, in fact, she kicked through empty paint cans until she found those she was to paint the house with. With fury unquelled, she went to make the first stroke on the outside wall of the cottage, but it was of no use- slick, fresh paint already coated it. The entire house was encased in a thick sheen of green, roof and all. Not exactly what was requested, but close enough, in Bayleigh's estimation. Obviously, this was the most uncanny thing she could remember experiencing, and she knew then that she had finally lost her mind. As she stepped inside to rest and confront her insanity, she was greeted by a similarly affected interior. Paint dripped off every piece of furniture and over the sides of every surface. Bayleigh found that her feet squelched against the floor, which was also flooded with the fluid. Despite knowing she was delusional, Bayleigh searched frantically for cloths and sheets that could aid in the cleanup effort. It was of no use, however, when she heard a scream from the front doorway. Bayleigh's incident had been discovered by her parents. There was no backing out of this one.
Over the months it took to restore the cottage, Bayleigh's parents grew less and less perturbed with the outburst. Until one day, when two letters arrived on the front stone step, both sealed with thick wax emblems. One informed Bayleigh's parents that their daughter had been responsible for an instance of 'accidental magic'. The second was an acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Bayleigh could still remember the explosion of confusion and excitement she felt after reading the words 'Ms. Boone is a witch.' For a time, there was no use in convincing Bayleigh's parents that she was magical. They couldn't accept it as truth. Moira and Donnie decided to catalog the strange events that had plagued Bayleigh and those around her in her youth and were quite astounded to find a pattern. It seemed that every time Bayleigh's emotions became uncontrollable, odd things would occur- a lightbulb would inexplicably burst, sheep would break out of their pen, or any other small thing that could easily be attributed to coincidence. Bayleigh's parents found they had no other choice than to accept reality. There was a witch in the family.

Apperance: Bayleigh is a small, stocky girl of particularly short stature, standing at only 140 centimeters tall. Her straw-like, jet-black hair is a trait passed down from her father. Self-trimmed bangs cut across her square forehead and accentuated a pair of strong eyebrows. A deep-set pair of piercing, sage-green eyes peer out from underneath Bayleigh's browbone. Her nose is small and straight, with the occasional freckle punctuating the olive-toned skin. Small lips sit directly above an equally small, rounded chin. A distinctive feature of Bayleigh's is the way her eyes crinkle and cheeks dimple when she smiles.
