Nice to Run Into You
@Paige Chase
That morning Calypso had woken late, and hurried down to breakfast. She had stayed up past 21:00, finishing a book she had been particularly engrossed in. Cal should have learned her lesson by now, but books were her weakness. She always told herself, Just one more chapter. After that, I'll go to bed. Now she was resenting her decision. Tired and hungry, she was able to catch the second half of the meal, but when the Great Hall emptied Cal was the last one there, finishing her toast. Now Calypso strode through the castle with her arms full of schoolbooks and papers, in a hurry. She was possibly going to be late for double Transfiguration with Ravenclaw, and she didn't want to spoil her punctuality record, or leave a bad impression on the professor. Late, late late, she recited in her head, like a chant. You cannot be late, I won't allow it. Cal was a bit of a perfectionist, if you didn't know by know. She was in the courtyard, her pace increasing with every passing moment. She was so absorbed in her thoughts of getting to class, in fact, that she didn't see the small, dark haired girl in her path. *Bam!* Calypso slammed into the girl and they both went down.

Nice to Run Into You
Paige woke up. She felt stiff all over. She lifted her head and realized she fell asleep doing her charms homework last night. She smoothed out the paper. Its not wrinkled too much. She got up and stretched. She opened a drawer and pulled out her uniform. She pulled on her cloak and clipped it. She had plenty of time. The sun still didn't rise yet. She decided to braid her hair into a French braid. She lay on her still made bed, feet hanging off.
She fell asleep once more.
She woke up to shuffling in the room. She sprang up. She shoved books into her bag. She ran downstairs. She didn't want to be late for breakfast. She ran into the hall and grabbed an omelet. She ate it all up, and then took some egg bagels and wrapped them up for later. She slid them into the front pocket of her bag. She had charms. After socializing with some other students, she walked out. She waved to some other familiar faces. No time to talk. Everyone of her friends or acquaintances had some friends with them. Unfortunately, Paige had none of her friends in charms. When she had classes with her friends, they always came from somewhere else. That ment Paige walked alone every day.
She took out one of her books and read it as she walked. She turned the corner. She wasn't looking where she was going.
BAM!
Paige played out on the floor, her books everywhere along with another girl. Because Paige was tiny, she checked herself for any bruises. She got hurt easily. Once she was finished, she checked on the girl.

Nice to Run Into You
Owww. Ok, arms, legs, nothing's broken, I think. A voice startled her."Hey, are you ok?" I am so sorry!" It was the girl Cal had bumped into -a Ravenclaw, from the looks of her school robe. The young Gryffindor looked up. The girl had wide, doe-like eyes, dark hair, and was slight in stature. "What? No no no, I'm sorry. So so so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going and-" Silence. Then both girls started laughing."I'm Calypso. Calypso Starling." Cal stuck out her hand. The girl took it. "Paige Chase. Ravenclaw."Calypso smiled. "I'm a Gryffindor." Then she remembered. "Oh, shoot! I'm going to be late for a class!" The girl's -Paige's- eyes got even wider. "Wow, me too! Oh my goodness."
"Well," Calypso said, "It was nice to run into you." "Ha! You too. See you around maybe, Calypso Starling." "Right back at you, Paige Chase."
The two then got up, dusted themselves off, and went on their separate ways. But it turned out their their ways weren't so separate, after all. They were headed in the same direction!
Calypso put her palm to her face. "Double Transfiguration with Ravenclaw! how could I be so oblivious? We're headed to the same class."

Paige laughed. "We are! I can't believe you never recognized me, the girl with..." Paige mock flipped her hair- "luxurious locks!"
Both the girls laughed. Paige and Calypso's steps matched each others as they walked to their class. Paige looked around. "So, I'm going to state the NON obvious, this hallway is empty. I don't think it should be empty unless we're late..." Calypso shrugged and laughed.
"Yeah, I never noticed it was empty." Paige shrugged too. "Well, we can be late together, Calypso Starling."
Paige pondered. "I'm going to quote a wise guy, quoting an even wider guy. "Einstein said time was relevant, so maybe we're not late, everyone is just early'. Miles Morales said it. It's a muggle thing."
Paige laughed and so did Calypso. They were getting nearer to Transfiguration. "Will we have to face the wrath of an angry teacher? That's the worst Lind of wrath. Wait, no. A mum's wrath is the worst. You can't say that's wrong because it is not. Mums are scary." Paige looked behind her shoulder. "They are seriously always watching. When I go home for the break, my mum's probably going to ask me if I've met any suggestions super cool Gryffindors in the hall name Calyspo lately.
