A talk in the snow
Haley was still surprised that Simon was only out here for the second time, but would soon find out why. Nevertheless, she was pleased that he liked it. Haley had always enjoyed being out in nature, often enjoying time alone, but today's day with Simon had been very special again and she would repeat it a 100 times.Enjoying the time and trust with @Simon Kincaid
When Simon began to talk about himself, Haley looked at him excitedly and listened to his words. Here and there she laughed with him but her concentration and her eyes were always on him, soaking up the information about Simon. "Xeroderma Pigmentosum," Haley repeated his words, "never heard of it." The more Simon told her about it, the more sorry she felt. "It really doesn't sound nice, I'm sorry about that." Haley had never heard of it before, but she imagined it would be very unpleasant. But knowing Simon as she did, she was sure he was making the best of his situation and still living a good life and not letting it get him down.
Haley grinned to herself as Simon put his head on her shoulder and carefully she put her head on his head and continued to listen to his words. When Simon mentioned the possible risks of his illness, Haley's body tensed. She didn't even want to think about Simon having to fight such terrible diseases at such a young age and was glad that wasn't the case. "I hope you stay with me for quite a lot more years." She whispered softly into his hair, "Would pretty much suck without you." She grinned, eager to see Simon's reaction. She was sure he hadn't heard her swear much and her friends were always totally shocked the first time, since Haley was never judged that way but that didn't bother her. But sooner or later all her friends had to learn that Haley could also behave kind of rude.

Getting down to 'homework' with @Haley Rose
He enjoyed this time with her, just stating random little things and getting to know each other a little better. He also didn't mind the word choices, as he too slipped a time or two and it only made her more genuine in his eyes. Simon pulled his bag closer to him and brought out a notebook. "Alright, so the questionnaire," he said and smiled to her.
Bringing out a self-inking quill, he began to get to work. What was it he all had said? Favorite color, favorite food...he tried to think about what else he said as he wrote the words down. Once he'd finish with one of them, he'd have to write another because this wasn't the muggle world where he could just take a photo of it with his cellphone to capture it. He didn't mind though.
"Alright, so far we've got favorite color, foods, family. Do I be that Hufflepuff and put down hopes and dreams and aspirations?" he smiled. Something about that last part seemed like something a stereotypical Hufflepuff would inquire about. Then again, Simon kind of was a stereotypical Hufflepuff - and that wasn't such a bad thing.
"I'm starting to realize that you leave me almost every time with a homework assignment to do. Bad enough you get them in class but this too? At least this one I'm doing as well."
They'd fill out their questionnaire and also have to find their attire for the ball. Simon liked this though, because it gave him a good excuse to be thinking of her.
"What should I add?" he asked, showing her the paper and sliding it over her way. In doing so his hand realized that her dark jeans had gotten wet from the snow and while he might have physically felt cold to the touch, he wasn't chilled, but she probably was. If the two had been in the same house they could go to the Common Room by the fire but sadly that wasn't a choice.

Brainstorming with @Simon Kincaid
Haley enjoyed the moments she could gather with Simon and while she looked at the sky, which had become even darker in the meantime, she suddenly felt the cold on her legs, hands and face. All the excitement and talk with Simon had put her off so much that she hadn't even noticed how cold she was.
Questionnaire - and again her attention was focused on Simon and she forgot that just a moment ago she had felt like she was freezing to death. Her lips formed a big grin when Simon brought up the subject again. She watched him as he began to take his things out of his bag and began to write on a piece of parchment. She meanwhile started thinking about what she would like to know from Simon.
Haley had to laugh at his comment, "Yeah I know, it's not easy being friends with me." She rolled her eyes and made an exhausted expression, "But my homework isn't that hard either" she laughed again. "You can do it Mr Kincaid, you just have to believe in yourselve." She spoke encouragingly now, mimicking the voice of one of her teachers.
Haley took the paper and read through it, with her eyes still fixed on the parchment she turned her one hand to Simon to take his quill . "So, now let's see..." she sat over what he had written, looking pensive as she began to write,
What would be a perfect day for you?
If you were to die tonight, what one thing would you have to tell who before you did?
Favorite music
As Haley continued to think and write down the first point, her teeth began to chatter slightly because she was so cold. She herself didn't notice it but her body now started to resist the cold quite obviously "See, I only added three points, then it won't be too much homework." She smiled at Simon and pushed the sheet in his direction again.

"Alright, looks as if everything is in order," he said after he took another piece of parchment and began writing down the combination of questions so they would each have a copy to use. Simon already knew some of the answers immediately but he wouldn't write them down just yet. Besides, that was what they would do the next time they saw each other - share the answers, so there was no need to go ahead and give anything away now.
He caught her shiver and began to feel rather foolish for staying out so long. The sun had disappeared by now, taking some of its warmth along with it. Simon, as someone who cared quite a bit about people, certainly wasn't showing it right now. "You've got to be freezing," he said to her, feeling like it was at least partially his fault. They should have gone in when she first wanted to go inside.
"So, when is this assignment due?" he asked as he handed her copy over to her. He wasn't going to have her freeze to death. She needed to get inside and get some warm dry clothes on. He probably did too - although he didn't feel it.

Saying goodbye with @Simon Kincaid
Haley took her list and thanked Simon. She folded it up and slipped it into her jacket pocket. Her fingertips were tingling and she would have liked to start writing down her answers right away, but she would at least wait until tonight. She still had a pile of homework ahead of her, but she knew she would rather deal with that than anything else.
Haley loved spending time with Simon, but by now she was so cold that she realized they had to part ways or she would freeze to death. She made herself some warm thoughts by thinking about a hot shower but unfortunately that didn't warm up her body. "I don't want to lie. Hell YES!" She laughed out and hopped down from the wall. "I think we should get inside before one of us freezes to death." She waited for Simon for a moment and then made her way in slow steps towards the entrance hall.
"Um, unfortunately I have a lot to do this week. School, homework, stuff like that." She rolled her eyes but had to smile. "Would the weekend suit you? Saturday or Sunday after breakfast?" She grinned at Simon expectantly.
They were now standing at the entrance from the castle and Haley was now saying goodbye to Simon. "Thanks for a lovely day!" She grinned at him with a big smile. She briefly considered giving him a hug, but decided against it. They were so soaked through that it wouldn't have been a pleasant hug and she wasn't sure how Simon would have reacted either. She turned and skipped towards the stairs and then quickly ran into the common room but before she turned around again at the stairs, smiled at Simon and waved.
