With a Drop PV Finished

It's surprising how many things are started from something small. Like drops of water, slowly making puddles that make lakes and so forth.

For Michael, ever relationship he ever had, with family and friends, started with something small. From his grandparents, a small hi that turned into years of love and growth. To with Henry, a hi turning into talking for hours and laughing. Everything started small.

Just like with Paige.

The day started out like any other Friday. Charms, then defense, then Potions. He woke up before the start of breakfest, as he did everyday. Dressed quickly, petting the cat that occupied the bedroom too. His dormmates usually weren't up, besides Hana, how scowled at the good morning sent his way.

He ate quickly at the start of breakfest, and hurried out of the hall again, looking in his bag as he push through the crowd of students going into the hall. He didn't worry about getting mail, no one ever owled him, and if they did they'd find him.

The boy was in such a hurry he wasn't watching where he was going, forgetting about the slight step out of the small hall, and ending up falling. It wasn't graceful and a couple books fell out, sliding across the floor. He looked up, only to see a witch in front of him. He was embarrassed, his flushes cheeks showing that, and quietly said, "Hi."

That's how it began. With a small drop.

Paige had got up like any other day. As usual, she spent most of her time looking for a shoe that a cat liked to hide. When she finally found, she was running late for breakfast as usual. She ran in, and grabbed a drink. She grabbed a bagel and put some butter on it. She was able to eat one half before she had to leave. Quickly eating the other as she walked, she looked around her.

She headed to all her classes. Same old, same old. She had recently joined a club and was proud of herself. She adjusted a badge on her cloak that read: P.U.R.E. It felt weird, being as she was a muggle born. But that wasn't what P.U.R.E. was at all. She was excited. This club seemed like a good choice.

It was because she was admiring her badge she didn't see a boy rushing in front of her. The boy tripped in fell, landing in front of her feet. His books had gone flying across the floor. She bent down as he said hi with a red d race. She helped him up then started collecting the books. The last one was the one they both reached for. Paige grabbed it first and stopped as she saw the cover. Werewolves. Paige had taken in interest in finding werewolves. But he was probably a fan like she was. She smiled. "Werewolves. Fascinating. You like them?"

Michael didn't know whether he had hit his head or if he just was that embarrassed or shocked, but as the girl stood infront of him, he couldn't move. He was snapped out of his frozen state, by the girl reaching down and starting to collect his books. He quickly helped, grabbing his bag and stuffing them back in the cotton.

He turned, moving to grab a book, when another hand dove down and grabbed it first. He looked up at the girl again, as she read the title of the book. Muggles and the legends of werewolves by a muggle company that explored history. He was half way through the book, and so far he couldn't believe all of it.

But right now was no the time for day dreaming about a book, because some girl grabbed a book on werewolves, and could figure out his. . . secret. He wanted to snatch the book back, and hide it away. But the girl surprised him. 'Oh?' He thought, 'She likes werewolves too.' He smiled, relieved.

"Yeah, they're my favorite, i read all about them and other creatures, like unicorns and ghosts." He said, and held out his hand for the book. "My name's Michael by the way, Michael Miller."

And just like that, another drop.

Paige smiled. "I feel the same way, Michael." Her smile was warm, and kind. No judgement at all. In fact, she could totally relate. She had once been that shy, flustered girl, too. Who has also fallen in front of, into, and yes, on top of from a tree, on people. You get used to it. She had learned that humor can heal all wounds.

"Hey look, I've fallen so many times, you won't even believe it. You get used to it after a while." She laughed at her totally lame joke. Then she brushed a strand of hair from her face. "You're okay, right?" She placed her hands on her knees as she extended her hand to help the boy up. "Sorry you fell, it was probably my fault." She looked away with a sweet smile. "Anyway, you were in quite a rush there. Do you need to be somewhere? I'm totally distracting you right now, super sorry about that." She reached into her bag and pulled out a bag of candies. "Here, take this. I've learned that candy always helps. And think of it as... me asking if we're friends." She smiled once more. She shifted her bag on her shoulder.

Michael smiled as she did, feeling better already. When she offered her hand and kind words he took them both. "Yeah, I'm fine. And yeah, I've fallen a time or two. . or twelve." He joked, hopefully making her distracted from the red slowly leaving his face.

At her question, he just flushed more and raised the book still in his hand. "Was just going to read some of my books." He said hummed, his eyes widened at the candies taking them with a smile, looking at her happily. "Wow, thanks." His eyes snapped up at the last words.

Friends. He only had the one, Henry. She did like creatures like him, and he got cholocate too. He smiled, and nodded. "I'd love to be friends, Paige." He said. He meant it, having another person in his life at the moment felt amazing already, especially as his family was slowly leaving it. He wondered how long she would stay in his life, he hoped it was short, so it wouldn't hurt as bad when she left.

Just like that, the drips slowly became puddles that became rivers. Paige was now a part of his life, chocolates in hand, and smile adorning their young faces.
