On the Way to Hogwarts...
Aaron hummed in agreement. "Banana candies are a hit or a miss. More often the latter. Why else would lemon be the king of yellow candy" she said, taking a bite out of her chocolate frog. As Eirian had said, it stopped moving the second she broke off a piece. "What a weird sweet. Who would want to eat a moving object? Is it to tempt our savage nature?" she laughed. "It's good chocolate though" she said approvingly, stuffing the rest of the chocolate into her mouth.
She was licking the leftover chocolate off her fingers when the compartment door slid open. The girl who walked in struck her as very soft and nervous, hiding in the doorway as she assessed the compartment. It was only then that Aaron noticed the mess of wrappers the two of them had left around the compartment. "Whoops. What a first impression to make" she thought to herself. It was too late to fix it now.
Following Eirian's example, she shoved her pile of candy to the side and tossed her knapsack haphazardly onto the luggage rack above. Then she offered the newcomer her biggest, wildest grin and said, "Welcome to our compartment! Hope you don't mind the mess. My name's Aaron. Pleasure to make your acquaintance Nora!" To finish off her introduction, she patted the bench beside her enthusiastically. "What your favourite type of candy?"

On the Way to Hogwarts...

Hey @Eirian Blake and @Aaron Hastings I kind of ended up in two threads and I want to fix the continuity, so Nora will basically run into this compartment and run right back out. I hope our characters get a chance to meet again! Thanks for your patience with me!
I'm also going to fix my first post a little, but it shouldn't effect your replies. The main effect will be that Nora's trunk is still with her on the floor. Thanks!

Nora stared hopelessly at the two girls who kindly offered her a seat. With the prefect having shoved her in there, she momentarily assumed she would have to stay. Perhaps she could calm herself down and just sit quietly until they got to... where ever on Earth the train was going? Where ever the train was going--that was a terrifying thought. She pushed it away.
Eirian was holding out her hand waiting for a response. Aaron had brushed all her candy wrappers to the floor and was beaming at her, patting the seat for her to sit down. They both seemed so friendly... but Nora was sure she had also ruined their fun... And here she was, upset, and who knows if Other Nora or Juniper would come in there looking for her?
Nora looked from Eirian's hand, to Eirian, to Other Aaron, to each of the empty seats, to her trunk, and then behind her the compartment door. She couldn't hear any noises or footsteps. Perhaps the way was clear...
"Er... sorry!" She said, pulling her trunk and turning to leave. There was a long, awkward moment when she struggled to open the door and get her trunk through, but she finally got it, and headed back down the corridor.
I was not meant to be this way, to live this way, to fail so darkly

Eirian watched Nora look between her and Aaron for a moment but didn't say anything to push her, figuring the girl was probably nervous and shy.
She dropped her hand as the girl turned abruptly and struggled with the door. She heard the apology but was far more confused than offended by the sudden exit.
After a moment of silence after the compartment door had closed again, she chuckled a bit loudly.
"Well then." she chuckled again, "Wonder what that was about. I mean, she seemed nice enough."
With a shake of her head, she just went back to the previous conversation she and Aaron had been having,
"Lemon candies are your favourite? I like sour candies. Mum hates them, though. Can't understand why I'll always ask for them." Eirian shrugged, "Guess I like the feeling of my tastebuds dying. And I dunno about 'savage nature' but I can agree that the frogs are a bit weird. I wasn't a fan of them as a kid. The moving freaked me out." She laughed a little bit again. "I'm fine with them now, though they aren't really a favourite. I'll still take some good ol' non-moving chocolate, y'know what I mean?"

On the Way to Hogwarts...
The girl left just as suddenly as she'd entered, leaving Aaron smiling at the closing door as she patted the seat. She blinked a few times in confusion, before glancing at Eirian. Seeing that she'd put her hand down, Aaron shrugged and bent down to pick up all the wrappers she'd shoved onto the floor. She could feel her mother's furious stare on the back of her neck, carrying the promise of punishment if she didn't clean up after herself. Her mother may have been many hundreds of miles away, but Aaron had a feeling she'd still know.
"Man, I hope we learn a tidy up spell soon," she said, dumping the assembled wrappers into a pile beside her again. "And yeah, she did. Nora was it? A little timid, but I bet she's a sweetheart. I hope we didn't scare her. I wonder if she's a fellow first year."
She picked up another candy, this time an oddly shaped taffy. "Ooo, sour candies are fun. I always end up eating too many and making my tongue bleed. If tongues could scar, mine would have many battle scars" she laughed, tearing off a piece of the taffy. "I like all sort of candy, though I think I like lollies the most. The little round ones that fit nicely in your mouth. It makes me feel like a badass movie character with a cigarette." She pantomimed taking a drag from a cigarette and pulling back to exhale the smoke.
"Chocolate is also a solid choice. You can't really go wrong with chocolate, unless it's that gross 74% dark chocolate or whatever. I like my sweets actually sweet" she said, cringing as she remember stealing a bar of chocolate from her mother only for it to be extremely pure dark chocolate. She'd gotten a spanking that day, and it hadn't even been worth it.
A group of students when thundering past in the hallway, drawing Aaron's attention. She pulled out her wand again and started tapping it lightly against her leg distractedly. She wasn't sure how long they'd been on the train, but she could already feel her excited energy swelling up inside her. She wasn't sure how much longer she could sit still. To distract herself, she shifted onto her knees and pressed her face against the window, attempting to see the front of the train.
"How much longer do you think it will be? I don't know how much longer I can sit like this. What do they expect us to do in these wee cabins?" she asked, mashing her cheek as she squinted around outside. Her foot started unconsciously tapping while she did so, releasing some of her energy.

On the Way to Hogwarts...
Eirian shrugged at Aaron's questions, "Probably a first year. If not, she'd probably have friends from last year to sit with instead of wandering."
She laughed at Aaron's candy-cigarette comparison, "I suppose they do look like that. Never thought about it before."
"And, yeah, one hundred per cent agree on the dark chocolate." She shook her head aggressively, "Dad likes the bitter candies and dark chocolates. I never touched his snacks." she crinkled her nose in a disgusted face.
As Aaron watched the students outside in the hall pass the door, she looked out the window again. Green hills rolled passed as they had been for the majority of the train ride.
"I dunno how much longer. How long have we been here? I think the ride is supposed to be like six hours or something." She turned herself to face the door and lifted her legs to lay across the bench space she had originally cleared for Nora before she had run out. Then, she put her sweater up behind her head and leaned back against the window and wall. "I guess we've gotta try to get comfortable and entertain ourselves. At some point we're supposed to put on our robes, I think. I didn't bring much to do. I've got a book on mythical creatures and my phone. Apparently, phones won't work at school, though, so I dunno why mum bothered to say I should take it with me."
She shrugged her shoulder, "Well, at least we can entertain each other since we're stuck in this 'wee cabin' together." She grinned at the other girl as she repeated her earlier words.
