Night Stroll
Taylor was taking a walk, waiting for supper, when she decided to take a rest. She sat down at the edge of the lake. There were a couple other people walking around. Mostly couples. Taylor didn't mind though. She enjoyed being alone. At least, that's what she told herself. Hogwarts really looked magnificent in the evening. All the lights reflecting off the water. She still couldn't believe she was really here. It felt like a dream.
She looked around her and noticed a girl, most likely another first year, on a bench reading. Even from far away, Taylor could tell she was pretty. She had long, dark hair and bangs. Taylor never really had enough courage to start conversations but something about this girl made her really want to meet her.
Taylor stood up and walked over to her. "Uhm..Hi there! I'm Taylor. What are you reading?" The girl looked up at Taylor and she could her features much clearer. She was most definitely Asian but could not quite place which part of asia. She sat next to this mystery girl, hoping it would not bother her.
She saw that this girl was a Gryffindor. "A Gryffindor that likes to read? Now you dont see that everyday." Taylor jokes, trying to make her more comfortable.

Night Stroll
Lillian sat on the bench reading, paying no attention to the people surrounding her. She had come outside to read by the lake, as she liked the fresh air and sound of the flowing water. It helped her to feel more immersed in the story.
Suddenly, she was interrupted by a girl’s voice. "Uhm..Hi there! I'm Taylor. What are you reading?"The girl said before sitting next to her. Putting a bookmark on her page and closing the book, she looked at Taylor. "A Gryffindor that likes to read? Now you dont see that everyday." she said jokingly, and Lillian smiled at the joke. ”My name is Lillian. It’s nice to meet you. I’m reading the Testaments by Margaret Atwood. It’s a muggle book I brought from home.” She said, setting the book down on her lap.
”You’re a Ravenclaw,” Lillian said, nothing Taylor’s robes, ”I take it you like to read then?”
Lillian took a moment to take in the girls features. She thought that they had similar hair, too, long and black. Apart from the bangs obviously. She also thought that Taylor had very pretty eyes, especially the hints of green in them. Lillian had always wanted green or blue eyes.

"Oh yes, I love reading. I'll read anything. Sci-Fi, History, Realistic fiction, even the back of a cereal box. It's always so fascinating to see what other people think up, and what lies in their head." Taylor had wanted to be a writer when she was little but had never really been the best at writing unfortunately. Maybe as she grew older she would be able to write better.
"Lillian is such a cool name. Do you mind if I call you Lily? Like the flower?" she did not tend to ramble this much but for some reason, she was talking a lot more than usual. Maybe it was because these two girls were so similar that she felt more comfortable around her.
"Isn't it beautiful...the castle I mean. It feels like a dream to be here. What are you? That's an odd question, sorry. But I mean are you pure-blood, half, or muggle?" Taylor was a half-blood. Her mother was a witch while her father was a muggle. She didn't mind though. She loved her father, but he was extremely strict, ever since what happened to her mother. "My mom was a witch. And my grandpa taught me so much about the wizarding world. I miss him bunches. Tell me about your family."
(sorry for taking so long. i've been extremely busy but I wont be busy that much for the rest of the day.)

Lillian listened to Taylor as she explained what she liked to read. She smiled and nodded along, understanding where she was coming from.
Lillian is such a cool name. Do you mind if I call you Lily? Like the flower?" Taylor asked. Lillian hesitated slightly, but she nodded. Nobody had ever really called her that, but she felt like letting Taylor. She already felt close to Taylor.
Then, Taylor asked what blood status Lillian was. “I’m a half blood,” she answered, finally actually using words, “My mother was a witch when she lived back in China but she doesn’t really mention it that much. My biological father was a muggle and so was my stepdad. I’ve basically just lived a muggle life.” She laughed slightly.
”My younger siblings are half bloods too but i’m not sure if they know it. Maybe one day they’ll come to Hogwarts too. I used to tease them
and say I was a witch and chase them around the house,” she said, laughing once again at the fun memory of her chasing her younger half siblings around their little flat back home in Glasgow. She felt a pang of sadness as she missed them, but she couldn’t stop smiling about the memory.
She began to think about Isla and Finn and she felt even sadder than she did before, a slight frown falling over her face.
