Classes had just ended for the day, and Gia was wandering the halls of Hogwarts. It was chilly outside, and the young girl didn't really feel like leaving the warm interior of the castle. Instead, she decided to wander around for a while and see what happened. Because here at this school for magic, something interesting was always going on. Whether it be a violent fight or simply an owl on the loose, she didn't mind. Anything would be fine, as long as it gave her an excuse to put off doing homework for a little while - something Gia didn't want to do at the moment.

Only a few seconds after she began walking down a crowded hallway, something caught her eye. A flash of brown hair, a familiar face - and then it was gone. Did I. . . did that really happen? Is it possible that he's actually here too? Gia shook her head, trying to clear the crazy thought and kept walking. It was a little bit too late, however, since the idea had already become stuck in her mind. And when that happened, well, it would keep bugging her until she did something about it, just like it always did.

It took a few moments for the Gryffindor student to realize that she now had a particular destination in mind, and that her feet had already started moving in that direction. She needed to get to the place where she thought she'd seen her friend, and quickly. He could be gone in only a few seconds. . . Suddenly, it seemed like everyone in the corridor pressed in towards her, trying to get in her way. The first year was nimble though, and was able to slip through the main part of the crowd in around a minute or two. Soon, Gia had made it to the precise spot where she remembered seeing the boy earlier, and the girl looked around hurriedly, hoping to see the familiar face again. When this tactic didn't seem to be working, the eleven year old decided to call out his name. Hopefully that would work a bit better.

"Henry?" Gia said rather loudly, not shouting yet but very close to it. A few people turned to see what the commotion was, but the young student didn't see the person she was looking for. "Henry!" she yelled again, her voice louder as she tried to make sure it could be heard over the noise. More heads turned her way, but still none of them were who she was looking for. After a while, the first year gave up shouting out his name and sighed. It probably hadn't been him anyway, but oh how she wished it was. . .

Henry pulled on his messager type bag a bit that laid on his shoulder as he already changed out from his slytherin robes since classes ended and now had on nothing that could identify what house he was in as the twelve year old was walking down the corridor on his way toward the library. He thought of bringing Loki but figured that his bunk was safer for his feline friend and the library wasn't always the suitable place for a cat especially when he wasn't meeting anyone there and was looking forward to a quiet afternoon reading a few books.

His eyes glanced toward the windows sparking with sunlight as his thoughts wandered barely paying attention to the world around him that was until he heard his name.

Someone shout his name twice, Henry froze where he stood and started to look around as he identified it as a female voice but didn't see Logan or Alexa anywhere. Nor was Scarlett, Rose, Carolyn, Heather, or Aurélie there so then who he did heard as he looked around before spotting a familiar face well at least the side that made the bot whisper "fox," a nickname that he gave a friend; Gia Adelard whom he was quite close with to a extent since she was a muggle but still wrote to her.

Henry approached her this time calling out " Gia?" Now only a foot or so away Henry squinted his eyes a bit to see better as he spoke " Gia is that you?" But he didn't need to ask as he reached out to grab her arm and saw his old friend one that made him smile as he spoke " Gia! How! Your here!" Before wrapping the girl in a close half hug.

Just as Gia was about to leave the corridor after deciding that it had just been a trick of the light or someone who looked remarkably like her old friend, footsteps echoed behind her and someone called out her name. Spinning around, the eleven year old could only stare in shock at the boy in front of her. He didn't seem as surprised as she did, however, and had grabbed her arm before she could do a thing. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the young girl got her wits back and was able to say something in return.

"Henry!" she exclaimed. "Yes - it's me!" And then all of a sudden he was hugging her, and she was hugging back. They were making quite a scene, she realized, but she didn't care at all. It was amazing that Henry was here as well, and what a coincidence that they would bump into each other! If only the two of them had met earlier in the year; Gia had been wondering how she would keep communicating with him now that she was at Hogwarts and he was off at some other boarding school. That boarding school, it seemed, was actually Hogwarts!

When they stepped back from each other, the Gryffindor student couldn't help but stare at her friend. The initial shock from knowing he was actually here, that it hadn't been a trick of the light after all was gone, but there was still a bit of surprise left over. "How. . ." she began, unsure of what to say next. "You're magical too?" the girl finally asked.

Then, a few seconds later when she became impatient for his reply, she added, "I just learned about all of this a few months ago - did you learn about it then too?" Suddenly, she remembered something. "Wait. . ." the first year furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "You're a year older than me. Did you know about this for a whole other year?!" She stared at him, waiting for an answer.

Still embracing his friend in the tight hug for a bit longer since he was more than happy to see her again and just for a moment all of his worries, his father's engagement to his friend's mother, his anxiety, and everything else washed away and he forgot them for just the mere moment that he was reunited with his friend.

Hearing all her questions and after he let go of her, still with the rather larger smile on his face Henry spoke " I been magical or known of the wizarding community my whole life actually, " giving the girl another half hug to contin his excitement of seeing her again and once he let her go for the second time, the twelve year old continued " I'm a pureblood so I knew about the wizarding world forever basically but I don't care about blood status or anything," still smiling as he noticed they were now the only ones left in the corridor not that Henry cared.

"Because of the stature of secrecy I couldn't tell you about the wizarding even though I wanted to! So I had to keep a few secrets like this is the boarding schoop my brother went to and the other lessons I got were magical," Henry spoke before lowering his voice to a whisper " and the robbery I told you about when my mum died was actually a werewolf attack, my whole family was still there through," sadness crept over him for a moment until a grin spread wide across his face again as he spoke " your not mad right? How has Hogwarts been so far for you? Do you have any questions because I can answer probably them all for you fox.. uh I mean Gia if were not doing nicknames yet-"

Henry told her that he'd actually known about the wizarding world and magic for his whole life, which made Gia's eyes grow wide. "Really?!" she asked incredulously. "And you didn't think to tell me about it? At all?" She wasn't mad, exactly, but. . . it was just hard to believe that he'd been keeping such a huge secret from her this whole time. They'd known each other for two years! Luckily, after another quick hug, he explained it all, telling her that he really couldn't have told her anything, even though he wanted to.

The Gryffindor student nodded after he was done. "It's okay, I guess. To be honest, if you'd told me about this before I got the acceptance letter - and maybe even in the few weeks after that - I wouldn't have believed you." Then, Henry said something about his mother and a robbery. It took a few moments, but Gia eventually remembered what he'd told her over letter a while ago. "A - a werewolf attack?!" Noticing that he was now whispering, she lowered her voice as well. "Oh, Henry, that's - that's horrible! Wait, if your family was in a werewolf attack, then. . . did any of you get bitten?" The smile disappeared off her face for the first time since seeing him again, replaced by a look of intense worry.

After a small beat of silence, the boy in front of her seemed to push the sad thoughts away. In a matter of seconds, he was smiling again. Finding the happiness contagious, Gia's smile came back as well. It was much too hard to stay sad and worried when her friend - one that she hadn't seen face to face in what seemed like forever - was standing right in front of her. "No, I'm not mad, don't worry," she quickly reassured Henry. "It's so wonderful being able to talk to you in person again!"

When her friend asked how she was liking Hogwarts so far and if she liked it, Gia was quick to nod. "It's amazing here!" she told Henry happily. "Much better than I ever could have dreamed." She grinned at him. When he offered to help her out if she had any questions, the eleven year old thanked him. "Hmm, I can't think of any questions at the moment, but thanks!" When Henry mentioned nicknames, Gia laughed. "I hadn't even realized you'd called me that! It's fine though, I kind of like it. But. . . why 'fox,' Henry?"

Then the girl realized something. "Hmm, what should your nickname be? What about. . . uh. . . I have no idea." she laughed, enjoying herself very much.

Henry expected her to be shocked and even a little angry so he just nodded as he spoke " I'm sorry but I couldn't but trust me I really wanted to," their conversation then moved on as Gia explained that she wasn't made in which Henry smiled as he spoke " I'm glad but now we can share this amazing world together!" Henry started to think about all the things he could show his friend and tell her about the wizarding world.

Henry made a promise to not lie to his friend ever again until she brought up if anyone was bit during the attack in which he couldn't bring himself to say the truth so instead he spoke " thanks and uh no but it's amazing to see you again! Maybe we can now hang out properly!"

The conversation continued and Henry's smile grew as the topic was about nicknames which allowed Henry to laugh a little before speaking "I think I called you fox once or twice before but the nickname is for your fun and mischievous personality," before laughing a bit at her trying to come up with a nickname for him before the talk ended and Henry then decided to ask " so what have you been up to? Anything knew?"

Her friend hurried to apologize, and Gia shook her head. "It's alright, like I said before. I understand." She gave Henry a bright smile, the same one that just wouldn't disappear even if she wanted it to. He then told her that he couldn't wait to share the wizarding world, making the Gryffindor girl want to hug him again. "I know, and I'm so excited! You must know so much more than I do right now - I only arrived here a few months ago, so. . ." Even though it had been a pretty short amount of time since she found out that the world was actually full of magic, the girl knew a bunch about it already. Still, that wouldn't compare to how much Henry knew, since he'd actually grown up with all of this.

The boy's answer seemed a little hesitant, but Gia didn't push the topic. If he didn't want to talk about it then she wouldn't keep asking, no matter how curious she got. That particular memory probably wasn't a good one anyway, so that could be the reason why he didn't seem to want to talk about it and changed the subject. Going along with the transition to a different topic, she nodded enthusiastically. "I've missed talking to you, so it'll be nice to be able to communicate without needing to write everything down, don't you think?" She paused, and then asked, "So. . . what's your favorite place at Hogwarts right now? I think I like the grounds or the Owlery the best - I know, they're kind of odd places. Or the Owlery is, at least." she grinned at Henry.

Henry laughed for a second before answering her question about the nickname he'd given her, making Gia's smile grow wider as well. Happiness and joy really were contagious, she thought to herself. Then, the boy explained his reasons, saying that he chose it because of her "fun and mischievous personality." The eleven year old laughed a little then, because now that she knew his reasons for calling her that nickname she realized it made much more sense. "It's perfect!" she exclaimed.

The second year student asked her another question, and Gia thought a bit before answering."Well," she began. "Not much, really. I mean, I arrived at Hogwarts, but that was a while ago, and you know that already. . . yeah, I guess nothing big that I can think of. What about you?" Just then, the first year realized she hadn't yet learned which house Henry was in. "You're not in Gryffindor, right? I feel like I would have seen you around if you were. . . What house did you get sorted into?"

His whole mood and spirit went up at the sight of his friend and he still had a wide grin on his face has last memories of meeting at the muggle school yard with the gate between them or walking with Gia to her home in the after noon filled the twelve year old's mind as he spoke "I'm not expert but I certainly know a lot maybe I could tell you about lots of the amazing things the wizarding world has to offer while we listen to those uh Broadway show songs that you told me about? It could almost be like old times Gia!"

He was excited at the thought of hanging out with his old friend again and couldn't help but think of all the possibilities that they could do together and talk about that still for a moment he forgot about his won worries and troubles. Hearing his friend speak again, Henry nodded a bit before replying " I missed speaking to you to Gia and the owlery is amazing in my opinion. Although my favorite place as to be either the library, owlery, or this tree that branches hangs over the great lake."

As their conversation went on, Henry didn't want their time together to end ad he smiled and nodded toward her words before finally speaking " your a gryffindor, that amazing fox! I'm a slytherin but I'm not like most Slytherin's and I don't care about houses really," still smiling at his friend before brushing back a few strands of hair before speaking " not much, my brother his in his final year of auror training which a auror is a person tasked with catching dark witches and wizards. My twin is a squib which is a non magical person in a magical family and my father is engaged to my friends mother so not much," Henry preferred not to talk about his own life as he quickly continued " how's your brother? And your father? See any shows lately? What's your favorite class at Hogwarts?"

Gia nodded after Henry finished speaking. "Yes, absolutely!" she replied, smiling brightly. "And the Broadway music is a nice touch, especially if you want it to seem like before." she added. The girl was happy that her friend had remembered about those, since she had taught him about them a few years ago. Sure, they'd talked about some over letters, but never for very long.

Then, something occurred to her. "Oh! That's why you'd never heard about any of them before! And why you didn't seem as used to all of the technology back in Manchester - and the rest of the world, obviously - right?" It had seemed a bit odd that he didn't know a lot about all of those things she'd just mentioned, and now everything made sense. Wizards didn't have any use of technology because they had magic!

The boy nodded in agreement after she told him that she'd missed being able to talk in person, making the eleven year old smile again. Gia let out a small laugh when he said that the Owlery was amazing. "Well, there's something we have in common," she said happily. "I think I like it because it's so interesting that people here" - the Gryffindor student gestured around them - "use owls to send messages to one another. It's so different than what I'm used to." And it was.

Back home in the normal human world, people used phones and other technological devices to communicate - among many other things. So like she'd said, using birds to talk to others was very unusual for her. Remembering that Henry had told her multiple places he liked, Gia asked, "You said the tree right next to the Great Lake? I've been there once or twice - it's so beautiful there, when you look out over the water." She smiled as a picture formed in her head of that exact location.

Her friend seemed to be pretty impressed by the fact that she had been sorted into Gryffindor, making Gia laugh again. "Oh, you're a Slytherin? Cool!" her words and smile were genuine, because like him, she didn't care about the houses all that much. "They're the cunning ones, right? With the snake for their animal?" The first year was almost certain that was correct, but she wanted to make sure.

Although Henry told her that he didn't have very much going on, the list of events that he followed that statement with told otherwise. "That's. . . a lot more than me," Gia said to him with a grin. "And your brother is training to be an Auror? That's amazing - I think I want to be one of those when I'm older, honestly." The girl paused, and then added, "Wait. Your father is engaged? To your friend's mother? Huh. That must be a bit awkward." Then she hurried to answer Henry's other question.

"They're both doing well. . . oh! My brother has a girlfriend now, but that's it for anything new, honestly." The idea of that still felt odd, since Vance was only a few years older than her, but she shrugged it off. "My favorite class is probably Defense Against the Dark Arts or Flying, but I like Charms too. You?"

Henry was glad that this reunion was going so well, yes they did keep in touch with owls so they wouldn't forget each other but still he was rather pleased that it was going well since flashbacks of his reunion with his childhood friend: Scarlett Aden was going through his head which didn't go over all that well even through they patched things up and while Henry wouldn't admit it considered the red head a friend.

"I'm not sure how we'll listen to them but I thought it would be a nice touch to and all," Henry replied as he remembered Gia showing and basically teaching him about Broadway shows. How he had so many questions for so many weeks but finally they were able to just listen about his questions were all answered, he then remembered singing to a few of them and being told that his voice sounded good to a few of the songs from Dear Evan Hansen.

"Yeah in the wizarding community, especially with pureblood families technically is used less frequently so there's a lot we miss out on compared to those who come from muggle families and all," Henry replied remembering how clueless he was with muggle technology actually he was still kind of clueless with it all but just less then two years thanks to Gia and other friends at Hogwarts.

"The wizarding world all around relies on owls to deliver messages in secret from muggles which has both its advantages and disadvantages but differently different compared to muggle communications," Henry replied and from his lack of use of muggle technology found owls to be easier and better sometimes but also enjoyed muggle technology such as a landline to make quick phone calls especially after his older brother learn and taught both him and his twin sister how to use it as well.

"You been there? Maybe we can hang out there together sometime then?" Henry asked and hoped that she would say yes as their conversation drifted off toward houses something that the twelve year old didn't prefer as he nodded a bit before speaking "yep good old slytherin. The ambitions and cunning lot who has the rumours of their house but fair warning not all of us are evil or dark like the rumours say," laughing a bit before continuing " ravenclaw probably gives off the most rumours about slytherin which doesn't make sense since their dueling team is named after a slytherin. The great Merlin was a slytherin," smiling a bit when he said that since it was a tiny piece of information that usually made the other houses jealous.

"Yeah a bit awkward but your brother had a girlfriend? That must be awkward to right," asking Gia and more than glad for this catch up before answering her question, " my favorite classes are; charms, potions, astronomy, and when I can take them next year also; care of magical creatures and ancient ruins."
