Please let go

Paige was laying down on her bed fidgeting with the end of her hoodie when she began to wonder what to do. Paige being Paige, she thought, why, it's a lovely day for the library. Of course, everyday was a great day for the library. So Paige had got up, and picked up her finished books that needed to be returned. Walking to the library, she had plenty of time to think of what she should read. I think I'll read The Tales of Beedle The Bard. When she walked into the library, she headed to the shelves to put away her books. Then, she began to look through the shelves.
Paige came across many books that she picked up and scanned through, but she had her heart set on one book. Had she known what would happen later on, she would not have let herself get distracted and she would have gotten the book earlier.
A while later, she found the book. It was the only copy left on the shelf. Ah, lucky me. She became aware of another girl heading for the book as well. The girl stopped, and the girls eyes met. Paige shook her head to the girl. She could tell the girl didn't care. Both girls rushed for the book at the same time.

Katniss had been walking around and talking to portraits for almost an hour. It was something she loved about Hogwarts. She walked past the library and decided she wanted to go in. Katniss, being the bookworm she is, she gathered a pile of books and carried them around in a bag. Every book she picked up went in the bag. She found a lot of books she liked but she really wanted The Tales of Beedle The Bard. Finally she located it and started to walk towards it.
Another girl was also walking towards it. The girl was in Ravenclaw, and looked like a first year too. With a jolt she realised that there was only one copy. The other girl shook her head at Katniss, but she didn’t care. She wanted that book. She began to speed-walk to the book, dropping her books with a loud BANG! “This is my book!” she whispered, as loudly as she could. Thoughts we’re racing through her head, ‘What could she do? How could she get it?’ She reached the book and grabbed it, but she wasn’t fast enough. Both girls held on to the book. Katniss was determined not to let go of the book. She couldn’t let this girl win.
Another girl was also walking towards it. The girl was in Ravenclaw, and looked like a first year too. With a jolt she realised that there was only one copy. Please let go
Paige shook her head and tugged as hard as she could. Usually she would be okay with someone else reading it, but there were a couple of reasons why:
·She REALLY wanted that book
·This girl didn't politely ask for it
·This was war now, and Paige didn't want to lose it.
Paige glared at whispered harshly at the girl. "Let go! I wanted it first!" This girl was determined like Paige. A first year, it seemed. She was pretty, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Paige wasn't thinking that now, any affection she would of had is now no where in sight. She wanted that book. The girls tugged in a circle, not wanting to lose this battle. A couple of students looked up as they bumped into their tables, but none of the students seemed interested.
She cannot have this book. Not now. People would be judging them. Paige was to angry to notice that this girl clearly shared her love for books. She was never go to e friends with her, she swore. "Please! Just let go of MY book!" Paige got slammed into a shelf of books, and a couple books fell off the shelf. Paige stepped on the girls foot in hope to distract her.

They tugged and pulled and went around in circles. The girl stood on her foot and this time she couldn’t help but cry out in pain. “Ow! That hurt.” But if this girl was ready to be violent then she was too. She kicked her shins and then she fell, taking Katniss with her. They had gathered quite a crowd by then and Katniss knew this was silly. “GIVE ME MY BOOK!” she didn’t bother using her manners. The girl wouldn’t let go but Katniss didn’t want to make a scene. “May I have that book? I’m sure you’ve read it before.” “Please, what’s your name?” When the girl didn’t answer she grew angrier. Now people were beginning to yell at them. “Let go,” She said through gritted teeth, “I don’t want to make a scene.”
She could see, by the shake of the girl’s head she wasn’t giving up. Katniss was determined to get that book. Suddenly, her doubts of not belonging in Gryffindor disappeared. She was determined. She wasn’t going to back down. “Surely there’s another version of this book?” She asked hopefully. A voice spoke in her head. What is your motive? Katniss shook her head. Nothing would stop her.

She could see, by the shake of the girl’s head she wasn’t giving up. Katniss was determined to get that book. Suddenly, her doubts of not belonging in Gryffindor disappeared. She was determined. She wasn’t going to back down. “Surely there’s another version of this book?” She asked hopefully. A voice spoke in her head. What is your motive? Katniss shook her head. Nothing would stop her.

Paige being her fragile self and a determined nerdy Ravenclaw, when the girl kicked her in the shins she yelled out in pain. When she fell she took the girl down with her. Kids had begun to crowd around them. The girl tried to make Paige give up but was only met with a menacing glare. "Your right, surly there IS another copy, so go and find one!" She hissed at the girl. She winced as she felt a huge bruise form on her shins.
Some kids had started gathering friends. She knew the librarian would be here soon and they were bound to get a detention. She hissed at the girl. "The librarian is going to be here soon, then we'll both be in detention... together. So just let go!" Why was she getting so mad? She was one of the most determined Ravenclaw there was. And this was about a book. She had to win. Each of these girls had an advantage. Blonde over there was a Gryffindor, meaning she was known for courage. Paige, the obvious current owner of the book, was a Ravenclaw who's love of books would let nothing stand in her way of getting it.
Except, of course, her manners. Holding onto the book with one hand, she reached for the girls hand to pull her up. But Paige still held the book as the girls locked eyes.

People were cheering now, taking sides. The girl had shot her only defense back at her. She knew they would be in detention together, and she didn’t want that. She didn’t want to be known for fighting with people. She also didn’t want the librarian to come over, as the rules were very simple. She didn’t want to get kicked out or banned from the library. It had become a second home to her in Hogwarts. She was determined not to let it go though. A book came sailing through the air. Both girls, slightly distracted read the title. The Tales of Beedle The Bard. The girls glanced a at each other and Katniss lunged for the book on the floor. Fortunately, the other girl realised what she was doing and left her alone. She was panting after the tussle. Normally after solving a problem or fighting with someone, when the problem was solved and the fight was over she would hug that person she fought with or solved the problem with. But she could see that that want happening. Before the fight, Katniss hadn’t gotten a good look at the girl but now she saw a pretty face, surrounded by brown hair. So she stood up, and offered her hand. “My name is Katniss, and I’m a first year in Gryffindor. Who are you?

She lay on the ground, panting. She was to fragile for this. Once her anger was out of the way, she panicked. Her face turned red, and she started breathing fast. What had she done? Her leg hurt, and so did her pride. Every one was staring at her. Her hair was a mess, which she could care less. She turned around and began collecting the books that had fallen. What had she done what had she done? She should volunteer to clean the library herself, she deserved it. And when she saw the librarian, she was going to apologize like she never has before.
With a slight limp in her quick steps, she began dusting off the books from the ground and placing them gently in the shelves. Her eyes had watered up. She did not mean for this to happen. No, no. But that girl had made it hard. Paige wondered if the girl knew she had ADHD. It's a mental condition that makes it hard to stop moving constantly, and to focus. It also affects social skills. Paige had unfortunately forgotten to take her focus pill, which she and her family called chill pills to make her feel better about it.
She looked up as she realized the girl was trying to make friends. Here Paige was, messy hair, red face, limp, and she wanted to be friends?
