Hogwarts on Ice
With the young boy's shoulder planted on the jagged ice surface, Thomas retained the composure of his early ice days and lifted his wand with a steady hand, squaring it with his target of focus. Miss Prince approached, smug demeanor intact from the visual of Thomas on his ass. Though it appears the boy rubbed off on her, as she took strides towards his net she caught a rough edge herself, stumbling onto the surface below and losing possession of the puck.
A prime opportunity to fire back, the boy would search for her blue eyes now that they were at eye level. "Graceful as ever." Thomas nodded cheerfully in a mocking tone, maintaining the position of wand as she attempted to regain footing. Thomas would not waste his opportunity. "Time to backcheck." Backchecking, a term likely lost on his uninformed peers, but the meaning was quite simple. An offensive player's aggressive pursuit towards the defensive zone, hunting for the puck.
After muttering the incantation that sent Dealla reeling backwards, Thomas resumed his leisurely flop on the surface, eyes flickering across for the next susceptible target. Perhaps it was the boy that appeared attempting to take steps, instead of a smooth forward press needed to travel the ice. Or the lovely girl, that managed to retain his gaze longer than the rest due to her nice features and capable display thus far. Only Thomas would know for sure, allowing the wand to twirl in his grasp until he found a suitable target.

As Flash headed for his target, he was single-minded. He knew his position and his job, there were only so many people on the other team who were standing, so the idea was to push them back down again. The less they could accomplish the better, and since Dealla already had the puck, they were sure to earn their first point right away, there wasn't much of a room for error.
That was, except for the fact that this was not ice rink ice. It wasn't smooth, or even clear of snow and pebbles. As Flash skated towards his quarry, his skates caught in something that veered him wildly off-course. It was all he could do to stay standing rather than fall over, before he start careening toward the other defensive player on his own team. From there, it was pure luck that the boy was moving forward quickly enough to not get a face full of Flash.
Letting his momentum die, Flash looked around at the ground in mild frustration, the fog from his breath showing his huff of indignation. It wasn't as though he would let this set-back grind him to a halt, he had to learn and adapt, as always. When had things ever been easy, anyway? He hoped Ruka hadn't seen that...
Sighing to let go of the disappointment, Flash swung around from his failure to see that nearly everyone was back on their feet. Except for Dealla and another one of their attackers, who had been heading for the goal. It seemed everyone was having a bit of trouble out of the gate. That was no matter, there was still plenty of opportunity left, and he would continue with the expectation that the ice would be fighting back against him.
Looking around for threats, there were many more to contend with now. Checking on the movement of his team, it was clear where there was a gap in the defense. He would amend that.

Using his hands to center him, Henry stood straight up on the ice it had been a few years since he skated so he knew that it would take some time for him to get used to the slippery surface. Looking around a bit as he saw his team mate Percival Gray was in possession of the puck which he thought was a good thing but also didn't know what to do since physical activities was a weak area for him and he didn't know if he was going to fall again so the boy was a bit lost as he looks around the ice keeping his balance and coming up with equations and strategizing in his mind.
Staying exactly where he was and away from his team as strategies entered his mind Henry looked around and saw that Ileen Knight the girl whom held grudges for no reason also was standing and was skating at least to the twelve year old amazing. Before looking toward the other attacker, the only boy he didn't know and again he was probably the best in the team since he didn't fall and also body checked a few people. Henry wanted to help him but didn't know how as he slowly staked to him but then realized that he didn't know how to turn with a hockey stick or stake that good with one so he was gaining speed quickly and was about to crash into someone of the opposite team but couldn't turn as he struggled wiry the stick to turned as he muttered " shit."

Interacting with @Opeila Winters
Before he managed to skilfully take control of the puck, his fellow dormmate Flash tried to rush him from the start. Although, it would turn out to be quite anti climatic. The boy instead wildly went off course and skated away from him, letting Percy sail ahead and snatch the puck from Prince. He could only smirk and look back to the mindless Flash, who seemed to only just be getting his bearings. His dormmates always seemed to target him first over everyone else, yet most of the time they seemed to miserably fail.
His head looked ahead of him now and stared at the goal Opelia was covering, one which was almost clear from all of the opposite team being clumsy and falling over the slippery ice. His lips formed into a smirk as he got closer, noticing that Opeila was almost like a bambi on ice getting up off the ground "You may want to move, I don't want you to get hit by the puck" he said sarcastically as he reared back his ice hockey stick and shot the puck rather awkwardly at the goal. At the same time, his eyes quickly shot backwards to the corners of his eyes.
Percy noticed that a lot of the people who had fallen were now back in business and they seemed to be coming right after him like a dog to a bone. All he needed to do was fire the puck before they reached his heels, as well as the hope the puck didn't hit into winters face when he went for glory.

Opeila pulled herself up, holding on to the goal, using her hockey stick to push herself up. Well, if there was one thing she learned through this game, it was that simple ice skating, with nothing else to concentrate on, was nowhere comparable to playing ice hockey. Again Opeila found herself losing her balance, quickly she held on to the goal. And there something happened, she had not hoped to happen for a few minutes still. Where were Flash and Jake, weren't they supposed to defen- Oh, yeah, they did. Alright, it seemed she really had to guard this goal herself now.
Well, that was alright. Opeila was fine with that, why wouldn't she be? We're fine! Are you fine? I'm fine!
No, actually she knew that she was making a total fool out of herself, barely standing on the ice. Gray smirked at her- was she being paranoid or could he see her fear? Horses can sense fear. Where did that come from?
He mocked her. Opeila sent him a fake smile, not taking her eyes off the puck. "You wish."
You may want to move before I hit you with my stick. She did not take her eyes of the puck for one moment. Bad iceskater or not, she would let nothing into this goal.

No one, she's just really proud of herself for standing up
Willow was not one that was particularly graceful, and she would admit it if anyone asked. Heck, she was twelve years old so could anyone really blame her for not being the most sophisticated person in the world? Well... maybe some of the purebloods would since a lot of them were really fancy and proper, like Astrea. Unlike Percival, a mean brute truly. The only thing that was pure about him was the pure spite he apparently had for muggles. But, that was not the point of today. Now they had to work as a team, as much as she didn't want to.
There was a look of fierce concentration as she attempted to use the hockey stick as leverage to help her stand up. Falling was always easy, getting back up was less so. Her tongue was stuck out to help her balance, of course. After a bit of slow wibble wobble, she finally uprighted herself. Proudly doing a little hop and exclaiming, "Aha! I did it!" As she finally returned her gaze to the rest of the ice, she saw people colliding, spells being cast, and the puck being hit and smack around the ice. "Oh." For a moment, she had forgotten there was a competitive game happening at all.
It was time to get her head in the game.

Ah, and it had started off so well. After her completely expected triumph against the first year, Dee had basically been flying across the ice (or so she thought), a bright grin on her face, until... until. Of course things couldn't just keep going her way, could they? One moment she was skating, skirting the bumbling members of the other team trying to get back onto their feet, the next her skates did something - she wasn't sure what, but it sure wasn't what she'd wanted - and suddenly, her feet weren't below her anymore.
One second for panic, two seconds for the horrifying realisation to settle in, then Dee was skidding across the ice on her butt, barely holding onto the hockey stick in her hands, the puck gliding away into an entirely different direction, soon to be snatched up by the other team. Cursing loudly - there were some mentions of Merlin's beard, maybe also some of Slytherin's shiny bald head - she scrambled around until she was on her knees, then pushed herself up back into a standing position.
At this point, the puck was of course long gone, and Dee took just a moment to steady herself, get her orientation back - at least Ileen had managed to get back onto her feet as well, she noted with a quick smile - when she was distracted by her own words from earlier being echoed back at her. It wasn't hard to figure out where they came from, and she had her mouth open for a retort before she'd fully turned her had, but was hit by a Knockback Jinx that had her skidding backwards, her arms flung out in an attempt to keep her balance and not end up on the cold slippery ground again right away. Her shoulder ached where he'd hit her.
"What- I don't even have the puck anymore!" she yelled back at Thomas, her anger rising, cheeks flushing pink. And the Knockback Jinx of all spells? She could understand tactical advantages of other spells, but people only ever used Flipendo when they wanted to knock someone out quickly. "At least I'm not planning to spend the entire game on the ground. Scared of falling again?" Turning back around to wherever the puck had gone, she muttered to herself, more quietly, "I hope his butt freezes off." Oh, she'd wipe that smug expression of his stupid face, just wait and see.

Be it intentional or not, Heinrich's focus was dead-on the dark coin-shaped object sliding across the ice and he never expected for a collision, much less with someone of such beauty. All he saw was a flash of auburn, the long locks of hair whipping at his face as the shorter figure collided into his frame that directed him of course from reaching the other girl who was in possession of the puck. The impact was not large, at least not enough for him to lose his balance. He would take a moment to acknowledge the sudden aggressor, mustering an awkward smile before moving on.
However, the collision with the pretty girl was not the only obstacle he would face. He could not ignore that pillow of a boy that seemed to be speeding in his direction at an alarming rate. Bracing for impact, Heinrich's both arms would stretch out as if in acceptance of a hug. The cushion of his thick coat would absorb most of the impact but Heinrich would find himself travelling in a loop around the ice in an oddly comforting embrace. Soon the velocity would cease and Heinrich would finally let go of the other boy.
"B-be careful next time," he said before turning his attention back on the game. This time, the older girl was no longer in possession of the puck and was only getting back up on her feet. Heinrich's head turned, trying to figure out the next best course of action. He barely knew how the game was played.

With some inappropriate cursing Ileen made her way back on her feet. With one hand she was still holding the stupid and dagnerous tripping hazard - her hockey stick. Well, she would be more careful with that. With a determined snort she wiped the snow from her face and wrinkled her nose. What was going on anyway? Her little accident had effectively ensured that she had no idea what her teammates or opponents had done while she had mimed a penguin.
Her gaze wandered over the current situation and she couldn’t help but grin as she saw Thomas Lestrange sitting in front of the goal. Did he fail, too? Or maybe it was some sort of blocking technique - what did she know?
She had just looked at the right moment to see Dee, who had probably also fallen down, get up again, only to get hit by a spell of the Syltherin. Ileen’s jaw dropped and for one moment she didn’t care who was in which team. For Merlin's sake, it was a game! But honestly, what did she expect? She probably should also be careful and aware that there might be friendly fire. Who had the glorious idea of making that guy a prefect? Probably the same genius who had hired grumpy and creepy Prof. Iwasaki.
At least Dee didn’t seem to be that hurt - she was still healthy enough to rant at Lestrange so it couldn’t be that bad. Nevertheless, Ileen tightened her grip on her stick, narrowed her eyes to feisty slits, and slid across the ice toward her friend. Maybe it was the worry or the distraction, in any case it was suddenly no longer difficult for her. She meticulously made sure that the stick didn't get in her way again. Where was the puck anyway? She didn’t mean to let her team down, but it was clearly on the way to the other goal, so her defense skills were not required at the moment.
“You okay?” She raised her voice to drown out the scraping of the blades on the ice and made a face at Thomas as she passed by.

Hogwarts on Ice
The game had truly begun, and people were falling over all over the place. Jake was used to watching games from the stands, like where he had watched Quidditch when he had worn the suit the Badger Society had left him. Watching it from the middle was more confusing than ever, because there wasn't just craziness happening in front of you, it was all around you.
Disaster was averted - just in time, as Jake skated forward out of control and almost crashed right into a first-year boy on the other team who had been sliding out of control as well. By some miracle the two boys managed to stay on their feet, Jake waving his arms wildly in the air, as he was released from the unwanted embrace and his balance shifted. His stick fell to the ice with a clatter, but his balance steadied just in time. With a sigh of relief Jake was no longer moving and the boy he had crashed into seemed ok as well. The padding must have helped because he hadn't even felt the collision.
'Be careful next time,' the other boy chided, and though the cold already had Jake's cheeks rosy they grew a little more flushed. "S-sorry...." he mumbled, staring down at the ground.
"Uh oh..." Jake mumbled, looking at the fallen stick.
"Mph..." the little Hufflepuff grunted, trying to bend down and pick it back up. His hands didn't reach, and he was afraid to bend. He had just managed to stop from falling! What if he bent down and flopped right on his face? It was the one part of his body that wasn't protected. Jake wiggled his fingers to try to get extra reach.
His eyes darted around, looking for somebody to help him with his stick, but everybody was busy trying to get the puck, stop the puck, or just try to stay standing. The boy wanted to raise his hand but there was so much going on he didn't know if Ruka would notice. He took a deep breath. He was gonna have to risk bending.
The boy squatted down as best he could, grasping at the stick with his fingers, as he felt his feet begin to slide. Slowly, slowly, he grasped it, and extended his legs, raising himself back to his feet with some help from the stick itself. By the second miracle in a row, the boy managed to stand himself back up without taking an unwanted spill onto the ice.
This second crisis averted, Jake thought he was doing very well. He had managed to not knock the other boy down, and he had not fallen down himself. There was still a puck sliding around and Jake didn't know what was happening with THAT but that goal was second after the first one of surviving.
Not knowing what else to do, Jake skated vaguely in the direction of what was going on.
