Building Blocks to Trouble Finished

It had already been several months since Henry had started at Hogwarts. The shock of seeing magic had worn off a little bit, though there was still a weird feeling in Henry’s gut at the sight of someone performing magic. Despite all that had happened in the last several months, Henry felt like he had settled in better. He’d met a few people here and there, but he had yet to really click with anyone. People in his house were hard to get along with. They were generally smart and studied really hard, so they weren’t always willing to chat. After having been sorted into Ravenclaw, he had yet to figure out why.

Currently, Henry was in the corridors, trying to get homework done. He was very bad at studying and always had a hard time focusing. At the moment, he was having the same amount of trouble as usual. He’d abandoned his books on the bench and was currently sitting crisscross on the floor, a weird looking contraption before him. He’d been working on it for about an hour now and was still trying to figure out a few things. It was meant to fling something at someone, though he had nothing to fling. Usually he placed a balloon full of some liquid in the launcher, but he had no access to any balloons and no idea where he’d fill it up if he did.

Henry tinkered a bit with one of the hinges before pulling back on the mechanism and letting go. Instead of catapulting the nothing into the air, the whole arm fell off the machine and flung several feet away from Henry. That wasn’t supposed to happen.

Building Blocks to Trouble Finished
A day off which would be a prefect day to find a quiet spot in the library and pour over books or climbing to the tip of the large oak like tree by the great lake and lounging on it's branches. Which ever the twelve year old chose, books would sure be part of it as Henry Knight stepped into the great hall with his orange feline friend by his side.

Usually he would spend his day's off with friends catching up or reading but that day he felt like he wanted to be alone which wasn't uncommon for the anxious boy actually it was rather in his character since he liked to sit alone and dwell on his thoughts increasing his ever looming anxiety and also increasing his change on a panic attack needless the boy still liked it.

As he walked along the great hall between the hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables to be more specific. He worse nothing saying he was a slytherin and hardly sat at his house table so besides from friends no one really knew he was from the house of snakes as he looked around for a friends that resided in another house until Loki his cat decided to jog behind of him and out of the great hall before stopping opposite of another boy tinkering with something.

Loki watched the boy with his amber like eyes almost like he was judging the kid before Henry approached his cat and the boy opposite of them. He looked about upon the machine that he seemed to be working on before saying " uh, hi sorry if my cat cause you any trouble or broke it," he pointed to the piece that fell off before examining it and saying " but it shouldn't be that hard of a fix. It's probably just the angle that needs to be adjusted and all," Henry smiled kindly at the boy and hoped that he didn't mind the suggestion.

A catapult was a simple contraption, though he was finding it difficult to come across the right kind of materials to make anything else. He had only done this a few times with Daniel and Diana, but they usually did most of the work. Henry usually watched from behind them and then got to see what happened when they flung something at someone. The funniest was the time they filled balloons with paint. The first several attempts weren’t strong enough to pop the balloons, but after a few tries, they finally got it to work. They used it on friends who had come over to play. Their mothers were furious, but it had been great fun getting paint everywhere.

Henry wasn’t sure what he was going to use this for, but he had suddenly gotten the urge to build it for himself. He was enjoying the focus until the arm flung off and away from him. He was shocked out of his focus by the sound of someone’s voice. Cat? What? He turned his head in the direction of the voice to find a boy, around Daniel’s age, standing near him, a cat by his feet. “Oh! I hadn’t even noticed him there.” The orange fur of the cat was almost like Henry’s hair, it made him smile a bit. “You’re right, though, it’s not a difficult fix.” He admitted, tucking his hands into his pockets to dig for something he could use. When nothing seemed entirely useful, he removed his hands.

“I’m Henry.” He offered a hand for shaking before taking a step over to grab the arm to his catapult. “What’s your cats name?”

Henry gave the red head a smile when he agreed with the fix before saying " want some help to maybe once its fix I could show you some good places to try it out?" The twelve year old had quite the experience with building capulets and other things like that when he was younger only thing was that Henry wasn't the one whom would try them out. His twin sister; Annabeth did that mostly leaving Henry to the building and watching part which wasn't all bad but he admit once or twice when he was younger the boy was a bit jealous.

However when the red head gave Henry his hand and introduced himself, Henry widened his eyes that the two had the same name before laughing a bit and shaking the other's hand as he spoke " that's bloody fun, my name is Henry to. Uh Henry Knight," smiling a bit before looking down at his orange cat sitting in next to him and still watching the other boy Henry continued " and this is Loki, he's friendly to a extent," a small laugh escaped his lips before looking back at the other boy and still finding quote funny that they had the same name yet something else was brewing inside of him. Almost something he knew of but also didn't, still Henry smiled at the other as he kneeled down and sat on his knees still watching him.

Henry’s face lit up as the boy suggested places to try the catapult out. “Thanks! That would be awesome! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it when I finished.” He admitted, running his fingers through his hair to get it out of his face. Just like the building, the planning was also up to Daniel and Diana. Henry had learned a lot simply from watching, however.

“Really!?” Henry’s face lit up even more as they shook hands. “My last name’s Llewellyn. I should just call you K.” Henry laughed, fiddling with the arm of his catapult. “Unless you have a middle name.” Henry joked, squatting back down to his catapult to reattach the arm. “Is he a little trickster, then?” Henry asked, eyeing the cat coyly. He’d read a little on Norse mythology and knew that Loki was the god of mischief.

He placed the catapult back where it went and reattached it to the main body. He adjusted it slightly and looked back up at Henry. “Do you think it would work here?” He asked, scooting over to give him room to see it or come down if he wanted. He took the opportunity to get a good look at the other boy. A thought crossed quickly through Henry’s mind that confused him, but all he could really remember once it was gone was that it was kind of nice to meet someone new.

Tory had been walking around the castle, just thinking, for half an hour now. She didn't have much on her mind, just enjoyed a nice long walk by herself. It seemed like she had already been at Hogwarts for years, even though she had only been there a few months. She was starting to get to know the mysterious, stone walls and secret passageways. Even better, she was starting to make a few friends. It's not like she struggled with being friendly, she just wasn't the type to introduce herself to ever person she met. After all, she wasn't placed in Hufflepuff for a good reason.

She was about to turn the corner, but heard chitter-chatter from the other side. She peeked her head around. There were two boys, one with ginger hair and one with brown hair. Tory hadn't met either of them, but noticed one was a Slytherin and one a Ravenclaw. There was also an orange cat with beautiful amber eyes. Slowly, she turned the corner and walked over to them. There was a broken catapult that they looked to be fixing. "Uh, hello there." She said, standing awkwardly in front of them. "Can I join? My mum is an engineer, and we could make this catapult amazing. I mean, if you allowed me." She didn't know too much about physics, but was already thinking of ways to improve the structure.

OOC note: I didn't know how to join in, but this sounded like an interesting RP so I just kind of slid in =)

Henry smiled at the red head glad he liked his suggestion with trying it out before he spoke "when your finished, I could show you the places and all then if you want," after that the conversation turned to their same named which Henry loved especially since he haven't found anyone with the same first name as him and usually his anxiety got in the way of talking or meeting others so he loved this experience with the red head.

"My middle name is William, so you can call me Will or K. A friend of mine calls me H," Henry spoke before taking a minute to think before finally saying " could I call you red then? Or Apollo?" If it wasn't clear before then it was clear now that Henry wad a major geek and especially enjoyed books which was now he knew about every greek god.

"Loki is definitely mischievous no doubt but also has some trust issues," Henry replied as he watched his cat sniff the red head before giving his approval meow allowing Henry to smile as he spoke " that means he likes you so you can touch him," before seeing the boy move over a bit and ask him a question. Henry smiled at the boy before sitting down next to him and saying " it should but once we run a practice trial or two do you want to try it somewhere we can cause of mischief?"

Loki say between them and eyed the girl who approached them, he didn't seem to like her that much as he keep keen eyes on her before ignoring her as Henry spoke "we have the building pretty much done but you can help try it out?"

“That sounds great,” Henry replied, glad that someone had joined him and had good ideas. He was used to being a follower, and that was fine by him. When the conversation turned, Henry couldn’t help but laugh a little to himself. Having the same name as someone had happened before in primary school. There was another Henry who attended the same school and was occasionally in his classes. Still, it was always cool to meet someone with the same name.

“Hmm, I like K. Short and simple, and you’ll know it’s me.” He explained, figuring that it would be more fun if he didn’t call him something that someone else called him. Sure, Henry might recognize him by the sound of his voice, but it was kind of cool having something unique to call him. “Either one works,” He said. He thought for a second why K had suggested Apollo before his mind switched gears again, back to the catapult.

Trust issues? Henry didn’t know very many cats, but there were a few strays on his street. His parents insisted him and his siblings couldn’t feed them, but they always went out to see if they could catch them or pet them. “Really? That’s cool.” Henry reached out a hand for Loki to sniff and petted him if Loki allowed. He liked cats well enough, though dogs were his favorite animals. He had always wanted a St. Bernard. His parents refused, saying that if they ever got a dog, it would not be a St. Bernard.

He was glad when K took his silent invitation to join him. He was given approval on his adjustments and then a suggestion to test it a few times. “That’s a good idea. I have a few things we could use for tests,” He said, burying his hands in his pockets and pulling out some buttons, a cotton ball, and a couple small rocks. “These should work. I dunno if these could cause much mischief, though, unless you had another idea.”

As they were discussing testing it, a girl approached them, asking if she could join in. Henry was never one to refuse new friends. “Sure! He’s right, though, we’ve mostly finished it. Unless you’ve got other ideas, of course.” Henry never hesitated to let people put in their own two cents about something. If she had ideas that could make it better than it was, who was he to say no? “Oh, we’re Henrys, by the way!” He tacked this on as an afterthought, realizing that she probably wanted to know their names.

"Alright then I'll call you red, it fits you in a way don't you think," Henry spoke as he smiled at red before pushing back a few stands of hair and looking back at the capulet before adjusting the angel of it and tightening the end of it real quick. He then fling it back with nothing on there and found that it work, nothing fell and nothing broke.

" Ready to try it out?" Henry spoke with a smile before laughing a bit at his comment toward his cat; Loki who seemed to like red a lot and stretch out before laying down between the two boys allowing Henry to starch his cat between the ears for a moment.

"We could combined them? For example we could tie one the stone and cotton ball together so one side is soft and the other hard or instead use the cotton ball as a almost bending inside the capulet for the stones and buttons?" Henry spoke before digging around in his own pockets and pulling out a few candy wrappers and a box of every flavor jelly beans before passing them to red as he spoke " I think you have more useful things then me but your more than welcomed to a bean."

Loki however kept his eyes on the girl and you could tell that the cat didn't like her or trust her as Henry turned to face her before saying " I'm Henry Knight and he's Henry Llewellyn but anyway do you have anything in your pockets so we don't need to raid the great hall?"

Red worked, Henry though, looking back at the catapult. He laughed belatedly as he realized that it did, indeed, fit him. Glancing momentarily up at his bangs, which were growing dangerously close to his face, he smiled back at K. “It does,” He agreed, watching K quickly help him adjust the pieces. Looked there would be no need to test it with something in it. He was curious about how far it would go, but they would be finding that out in a little while.

“Yeah! We should try it out,” he agreed, watching Loki settle between them. He seemed like a pretty nice cat Henry had met a few mean ones in his day. Henry laughed at his own thoughts, realizing that he had made himself sound old. He was only eleven, his day was the current time.

Henry nodded at K’s suggestions. “I think tying them together would work better. It might almost be like a dirty snowball,” he said, remembering throwing dirty snowballs at his siblings on the rare occasions snow fell in London. “The bedding idea could be cool, too. It would kind of be kind of like the stones and buttons are raining down.” He liked the idea, and was starting to realize that, maybe, he liked it more than the first idea after all. “Wait, let’s do that second thing, it could be more fun,” he amended his previous statement and looked over at K.

He looked at the offered box of jelly beans and grabbed it hesitantly. “Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean?” He read aloud, reaching into the box and grabbing a bean. “Are these different from normal jelly beans?” He asked, popping the one he grabbed into his mouth. Upon biting down, he was met with one of the worst tastes he had ever tasted. “What is that?” He asked, eyes and nose scrunching up tightly. He couldn’t spit it out, they were in the middle of a corridor.

Henry wondered if the girl had anything more interesting in her pockets. He wasn’t sure if she would, though, as he collected things out of habit and that was why he had small stones and buttons.
