The Gryffindor Table 2020-2021
@Kora Sato Lilvi was disappointed, she finally made a friend, or so she thought. Lilvi wanted Kora to stay, Lilvi needed somebody to be her friend! And Lilvi knew that the sorting hat NEVER made a mistake! She had to convince Kora to stay! "You know Kora, it takes time to realize who you are, my sister Zoe-"
Lilvi couldn't talk about her sister to anyone, she was embarrassed, she felt so left out. She loved her sister, but she just left her, for a job! Not even a person! Zoe was smart, she could get any job, she could even be the new minister of magic.
"As I was saying, you don't immediately know you belong in one house, honestly I'm not sure I belong in Gryffindor just yet, but the sorting hat never lies. My sister-, sorry, I just can't talk about her, it hurts you know, she left me when I was only 7-years old." A tear slowly trips down Lilvi's face, one tear. Lilvi grabs the chocolate pudding and a small bowl, she eats it so quickly. She grabs the chocolate bar and bites pieces off until it's done.
"I guess being sad means gaining 7 pounds." Lilvi laughs, but then she goes back to her sad face. She couldn't bare to think about her sister for one more moment.
Solomon edit: You will notice a different face and house on this account, the account was reverted to its original designation. Sorry for the confusion.

Kora's hard expression softened. Suddenly this girl, who had previously seemed like an annoyingly cheerful Hufflepuff-type girl now seemed different. But in a good way. Kora turned around to study Lilvi's expression for a moment, slowly processing what just happened. Then her usually emotionless expression broke into a slight smile. "Thank you, Lilvi. But, I really don't think the Sorting Hat placed me in the right house, you'll see..."
Maybe that slightly sensible person she was looking for in Gryffindor had been found. Kora shook her head, no there was no way she would find a friend in Gryffindor, least of all this strange girl. Kora continued, "And um, I'm sorry about your sister." Kora felt sadness wash over her. She was reminded of the cat she left behind to go to Hogwarts, Aira. She knew that having to leave your cat was nothing like your sister leaving you, but Aira, her cat, was the first friend Kora had ever made, the only friend she had ever made actually. And leaving her only friend was hard for her, especially because nobody ever wanted to be her friend. Unlike people like Lilvi, who people would love to be friends with, Kora had always been alone. And even for a seemingly emotionless girl, loneliness was a terrible feeling...

@Kora Sato "Thanks, you know it's hard making friends when you're the newbie, my sister was so popular and she was a chaser for Gryffindor and never lost a game, she was so good. I just want to see her again. I have only seen her in the papers, Zoe's complicated, she left me so she could get a job and work hard on it, I just want to see her in person once, I brought a photograph of her to Hogwarts." Lilvi pulls it out of her pocket,
"That's me and her, she's the one with the brown hair, I'm 6 there, and she's 16. I saw her when she came back for Christmas."
Lilvi stares at it, she hands it to Kora. "Be careful with it, it's my only one." Lilvi smiles and Kora looks at her.
Lilvi says, "She left me, for a JOB!" Lilvi starts to cry, she grabs more pudding and says, "This is really good, and I'm starving." Lilvi grabs another chocolate bar. She eats in in a few seconds. "I am such a loser. My sister couldn't stand me couldn't she just left. I say no reason but there are two, he job and, I am such a loser."

As Kora studied the picture of Lilvi and her sister, she started to feel like a horrible person. How could she be so cold to someone like Lilvi? As Lilvi started to cry, Kora leaned toward her and awkwardly wrapped her arms around Lilvi in a sort of hug. "Your sister didn't leave you because you're a loser. And I don't think she left you for the job either, anyone with an amazing sister like you wouldn't leave their little sister just for a job. And if that is the case then she just sounds like a sucky sister. Don't blame yourself for something she did," Kora whispered softly into Lilvi's ear. Kora didn't care if her words judging Lilvi's sister sounded harsh, it was the only comfort she had to offer.
Suddenly Kora realized that all the emotions she was feeling, they were unfamiliar emotions that she hadn't felt in a long time. Then she realized that she had her arms wrapped around this strange girl she barely knew who had tears streaming down her cheeks. Kora turned beet red and quickly released Lilvi. Kora started to slowly eat her chocolate pudding, hiding her face from Lilvi. Then she remembered about what Lilvi had said about the Sorting Hat not making mistakes. Maybe Lilvi was right, maybe she actually did belong in Gryffindor.

"Thank you Kora but, Zoe and I were inseparable until she just vanished, when I read the daily prophet every week she is on it in the Quidditch section, she announces and I just really want to go to one of her games, she knows how to talk about every detail in the match. When I was 1 she was 11, heading off to Hogwarts with her huge trunk, and I don't think she recognizes me anymore, last time I saw her I barely had any teeth, my hair was shorter, and I was so short! I mean in 4 years I grew so much! I was just 44 inches tall! And now I'm a solid 60. The sorting hat was right to put me in Gryffindor, I was brave, and battled through the hard times."
Lilvi was finally recognizing she was a Gryffindor, and not because she hates cleaning her room.
"Kora, I want to thank you, I've been hiding this for so long and it's good to spill the tea, anyways, do you want to hang out in the common room? This food is tempting, I've had like 10 bowls of chocolate pudding! Not to mention the 3 chocolate bars! Maybe we should go to the common room."

[Solomon edit, common room is not possible as this was a multi. she was placed in her older account which is a Slytherin]

Kora stopped eating her chocolate pudding to listen to Lilvi. When Lilvi finished Kora got up from her seat at the Gryffindor Table and smiled softly, "Sure, let's go to the common room, unless you plan to get fat on chocolate and pudding that is." Kora beckoned to Lilvi so she would stand up, then started to leave the Great Hall with Lilvi following behind her.
As Kora walked, she smiled. How strange this night had turned out to be, first Kora had met this strange girl who was acting like she was Kora's friend, then she had a strangely emotional conversation with the girl, and now she was heading to the Gryffindor Common Room, not the Ravenclaw one, with this strange girl. But throughout all this strangeness and confusion, Kora felt slightly happy, an emotion Kora hadn't felt in a long time. Feeling such happiness after so many emotionless years was so refreshing. Kora reveled in this strange emotion. She.....liked it.
As Kora looked behind herself for just a millisecond, she caught a glimpse of Lilvi following her. Maybe after tonight Lilvi would be what people call.....Kora's friend? Kora smiled slightly, maybe she had made a friend. Maybe....maybe Lilvi was her friend.

Her mind was crowded with all that had happened so far. What type of personality does Gryffindor represent? What was that voice I was hearing?. Kitty glanced at the table, trying to find a spot to sit at. Spotting a seat next to an older girl and a boy around her own age, Kitty sat down and looked up once again at the ceiling, or rather where the ceiling was supposed to be. Before her at the table was a golden cup and plate. 'Hello,' The older girl turned and gave Kitty a big smile, 'Welcome to Gryffindor, the house of the brave!' The girl seemed very proud to be at this table. 'I'm not sure I'm supposed to be a Gryffindor.' the boy said. 'I'm not brave at all. I thought I would be Hufflepuff.', 'Mabe your bravery will show up sometime.' the girl said. 'Sorry about my brother, he thinks about things a bit too seriously. What was your name? Kitty?', 'Yes, May I ask you a couple of questions? I have never heard of Hogwarts and I am confused about some things.', 'Ask away.' the girl gave Kitty an encouraging smile. 'So, from what I have picked up Gryffindor stands for bravery, and Ravenclaw stands for ... knowledge?', 'Yeah, people in Gryffindor usually are brave and people in Ravenclaw are pretty smart. And, in case you were wondering, Slytherin has people who are cunning and ambitious, Hufflepuff folks are loyal.', after a moment of silence, Kitty asked her second question, 'When I was up there with the hat on my head, I heard a voice. What was that?', the girl leaned in and smiled, 'That was the hat, it was speaking to you.'
Truly and totally yours

The silence that followed his awkward shift in posture and behaviour was deafening, even as the sound of the other students throughout the hall continued in its boisterous uproar. That merely made the boy even more upset with himself for his overwhelming lack of charisma or ability to continue conversation. By Merlin’s beard, his father was a Gryffindor as well and the man could carry a conversation with a donkey should he ever hold the desire. Yet here his son was, allegedly following in his footsteps, and unable to quell the nervousness of himself nor a girl in his class.
He chewed absently at the potato, but he found that where the earlier flavour of butter, salt and rosemary had seen to making his mouth water in delight, now it served as little more than distraction from his own attempts to beat himself up.
Fortunately, his conversation partner was much more apt at salvaging the situation than he had any hope of being. Where earlier she had been the one worried about her house placement, now she was the one putting his fears to rest.
Nicholas turned to the girl with another small smile, “That’s the spirit. Maybe by the end of seven years we’ll be the bravest people in the whole school!” His voice got audibly louder and more excited as he spoke, as if he was convincing himself and successfully as he continued speaking.
As he spoke the smile grew wider, as if his internal doubts were slowly but surely fading from his mind, the internal turmoil subsiding. There was certainly a reason that the hat, which was absolutely, one-hundred-percent, never ever wrong, had sorted himself into Gryffindor. Maybe there was bravery that he didn’t know about.
And as such, his smile continued to grow wider. However, upon Daphne’s mention of ‘quid’, his eyes shifted from that of easy-going laughter to confusion. His brain frantically searching for where he had heard the term before. He’d heard it as a kid more than a couple of times, usually while visiting his grandparents in the south. Was it a muggle term? Wait, she had said a hundred right? Pounds!
“Oh, you mean a hundred pounds!” Nicholas exclaimed, suddenly and rather haphazardly, his own thought process having been done entirely internally, “you’re on! Although part of me kind of wants to be brave so I guess that’s not a good bet, huh?”
Nicholas paused for just a moment before adding, “Although I suppose I’ll have to pay you in galleons. Also I don’t know where I’ll get that many galleons…” he trailed off.
“Maybe we’ll be brave and rich!”
The self-doubt that had briefly arisen had seemed to entirely fade as the boy re-entered conversation, the idea of adventure in the castle proving too fun of an idea to remain sullen.

Blythe took a deep, slightly shaky breath after the Sorting Hat announced that she would be in Gryffindor. She didn't know much about the houses, given the surprise of the magical letter she had received on her most recent birthday, and the fact that neither of her parents were magical. But this...was not what she had expected.
Questions flooded her mind, but she kept them in. 'Aren't Gryffindor students supposed to be like...brave and noble, or something? I've always thought of them as sort of majestic...but the hat doesn't make mistakes, right?'
She stood, careful to pick her robe up so the hem wouldn't trip her, and began her walk to the Gryffindor table. Past all those staring eyes from the other Houses. It wasn't necessarily uncomfortable for her. She was used to being the center of groups, but that was usually among her own group of friends, or at most the people from her classroom. This was something else entirely.
"This is fine," she whispered to herself, drawing another deep breath and centering herself before she finally reached the table. 'One House at a time,' she thought to herself. It wasn't like she could win everyone's heart at once.
Several other first year students smiled bashfully at her, and the older students waved her on excitedly. As she moved to sit down at the table with everyone else, some new feeling filled her chest--belonging, but more...familiar, if that was possible. Even more apparent than it was with her friends back home. She grinned at all the smiling faces around her, basking at the rightness of it all.

As stubborn as she was, Evelynn wasn't usually the type to display a one-track mind. She was too careful for that; too aware that tunnel vision can result in missed information. And she was ever the one to absorb every last little drop of knowledge that she could. That required discipline. A willingness to hold one's tongue, that others may speak. To listen. To observe. Today, however, Evelynn was not at all her usual self. On this first day of school, she had a mission.
For nearly the entirety of the summer, one particular observation had led to an incomprehensible obsession, a desire to know why—rather, how—anyone on her team could be frightened by her. And now that the opportunity to lay that mystery to rest was at hand, she was very much of a one-track mind. Of course, she heard MacAllister speaking to her, or at least knew that he was talking. But what he said went, for the most part, in one ear and right out the other. Despite her opening commentary bidding him hope that he'd had a nice summer, she hadn't sought him out for pleasantries, and there was only one thing from his lips that she wished to hear.
Wished—past tense—being the operative notion here. She had been expecting a coy reaction. Perhaps a bashful response as a puppy might appear when caught in the act of thieving a roast chicken from the counter. Maybe even a borderline hostile defensive retaliation. What she was not quite prepared for was the very genuine and thorough explanation that followed. Very quickly into MacAllister's reply, Evelynn felt herself inwardly retreating. Shoulders relaxed from their forward poised position; her back straightened a bit to pull her back and place a little distance between herself and her peer; and her expression lost its edge.
"My feelings weren't—" The words were whispered before she could stop herself, but she cut them off soon after they slipped out. "…Intimidating..?" She echoed, neck rearing back with a perplexed wrinkle of her brow.
Eyes trailed after his gesture for her to sit as he continued, but for the moment at least, she held her position. A pink tinge crept up the back of her neck, hairs standing on end as though in salute as it passed them by. Fierce. And eager as buggery. Lips parted once again as though to reply, or perhaps to echo his sentiments yet again, but nothing came forth. Intense. The corner of her mouth twinged. By the time he had finished, her cheeks had flared a subtle shade of rose. Any trace of annoyance or desire for confrontation had melted away. Intense or not at times, she certainly had the grace to look ashamed in this moment.
"I…I see…" she replied, gaze breaking away from MacAllister's to fix uncertainly on a spot somewhere halfway up his robe. "Well.." she continued, swallowing.
A hand lifted to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear as though that would somehow bye her enough time to ascertain some way to back out of this debacle while maintaining her dignity. There wasn't one. With a sigh accompanied by a disgruntled crimp of her lips, she settled into the bench beside him and gave him a momentary side-eye before staring ahead at the table.
"My summer was alright, I suppose. My mother had me carry on with studies, though. Apparently, she finds the lack of dedicated classes for Mathematics, English, Social Studies and the like to be a matter of concern. Although I did get to spend some time in the south of France at least." A moment later and she would find her gaze drifting back to seek his out again, elbow lifting to plant on the table while knuckles curled to support her chin, expression still reflecting her unease. "…Am I really too intense?"
