Paisley walked into the study room, her tie on loosely and no robe. She enjoyed being casual on the weekends.

It was snowing again outside, and she shivered despite the warm walls that surrounded her. She was fond of the cold, but that didn't make her immune to it. She had been living in the snow her entire life, and something about it made her happy. She felt at peace when she saw snow. Calm. It seemed to be a signal that no matter what, something would always be there with her. It was odd to be attached to a weather pattern, but a lot of things were odd about her.

The young Gryffindor girl sat down and started to flip through her textbook. When no one was looking, she placed a caramel in her mouth and began to suck on it. What was studying without a little treat? She scooted her chair in and got to work.

The sound of rustling papers and scratching quills surrounded her. She had come into the study room at an odd time: when a third of the people were still eating, another third were out enjoying the weekend, and the final third was inside, studying. Paisley had a test coming up in Herbology, and although she was sure she would get a good grade, she wanted to make sure she had everything right.

She had been so caught up in her own self that she hadn't turned to look at the girl nearby. "Hello there," she said, hopefully not ruining a train of thought. She felt obliged to speak to her. "I'm Paisley. What's your name?" she asked simply. She figured the conversation would end at the girl's response, but perhaps it would go further. Part (the introvert) wished that the girl wouldn't say anything and would simply ignore her, but the other half that was desperately in need of some friends wished she would say something.

Paige looked up as a girl spoke to her. She was startled, she must admit, because she was so focused on her charms. She was trying to make her answers perfect.

'Nothing is perfect, Paige'. Her mind referred to her mothers voice. Guess you don't know half the people here, mom. Paige was a muggle born. She guessed that the nobody is perfect rule didn't apply for witches and wizards. Paige felt like the teachers expected a lot from the students. Being a Ravenclaw made it no better. Ravenclaws were intellegent, so Paige thought she needed to go above and beyond.

She had been taking some notes she could use for later when the girl sat down next to her and told her her name. Paisley. That's a new one. She turned toward Paisley. "Hey. I'm Paige. I'm a Ravenclaw, what about you?" Paige's voice was a whisper because she didn't want to disrupt anyones work. She knew how that felt. Luckily she wasn't THAT deep on thought, so Paisley didn't bother her. There were times when out of no where she would lose her train of though too, and her focus. Paige knew that was from her ADHD. So Paige had to try and focus more than everyone because when she isn't focusing, its bad. Her medicine helps her focus more. When she forgets to take it, she feels like a whole other person. Luckily, that hasn't happened once sense she came to Hogwarts. The remberall really works.

OOC: Sorry my replies are so short :/
"Gryffindor, you know, the bravest ones. You Ravenclaws think you're smart, but have you ever used a book to get out of a life-threatening situation?" Paisley responded quietly, and with a boastful smile. There was a joking air to her voice. She wasn't serious, she had never been in a life-threatening situation, and she didn't plan on getting in one. She then looked back down at her work. She was getting bored with it; all of this information she already knew.

"What's it like in Ravenclaw? Are you like-you know-extra smart or something? I've always wondered if you're born extra intelligent, or you have to do something to get that way?" she asked, cringing at her own questions. She sounded like a dork who was prejudice about houses. That was not who she was.

"What homework are you working on?" she asked in a hushed voice, changing the subject. "I'm working on herbology, although I already did my herbology homework, so I guess I'm just reading about it. Plants are super interesting, especially wizarding plants."

She closed her book and put it away. She was done working on herbology. She searched through her bag for her potions textbook and pulled it out, flipping through the pages until she got to where she needed to be. She was still listening to Paige, but was also working.

Paige pondered for a moment. "Well, yes actually. Me and my family were out camping, when a grizzly bear clawed at our tent. I whispered to play dead, which I read in a book. The bear left after what felt like an hour of playing dead." Paisley seemed curious.

"I guess you could say that... really people think we're all just nerds. We just are book nerds. Yeah, some of us are full on nerds, but not all of us." It annoyed her when people asked that. "We aren't born extra smart, it just happens over time." These questions were really annoying. She knew Paisley ment well. Ravenclaws hate it when people ask them this.

She was relieved when Paisley changed the subject. "I'm working on charms. I agree. Plants are really interesting! Plants can do so much, including cure people. Super cool." She became aware of her behavior. "Sorry, I totally just geeked out. I can get carried away sometimes." It doesn't happen a lot, but when it does Paige feels like she needs to apologize. She really wasn't a total nerd, she just got excited sometimes. About interesting facts. Which is really not being a nerd. She hoped.
