A Courtyard Re-acquaintance
She smiled as Harmony reminded her she didn't know what a metamorph was. Thinking, she wondered exactly what she could change. Her hair, she knew that, but could she changed things like how tall she was, or could she choose to have duck feet? Well, she wasnt sure. Sometime, though, she'd have to practice and see what she could do.
"Thanks... I've always felt self conscious about things like that... Here, let me see... alright." She closed her eyes, and breathed in deep. Her hair, growing about an inch longer, faded into a deep, sea green. She smiled, and closed her eyes again, the color returned to normal and remained semi long. "Heh, that's the first time I've.... ever... been able to do that!" She chuckled, looking at Harmony.
"So, err, yeah.. tell me a little about the muggle world! Whats a, Zool? Where they keep the animals, and, a... rubber ducky?" Though living near many wizards and a few muggles,
Eliza rarely knew what these things were. She mostly would spend her time enjoying wizarding toys, games, and such activities. A thing such as a rubber duck confused her. What was the point, what did it do, what was it made of, and did it move like most wizarding toys and pictures?
"And, and, a Camera! Is it like the ones at the Daily Prophet, that move? Or..... hmm. Yes, not quite sure. Well, I really should pay attention to my muggle studies classes, heh..." She smiled.

Eliza closed her eyes and her hair grew almost an inch longer and turned into a deep sea green color. Harmony watched in amazement as Eliza then changed her hair back to its original state. "Hey! You did it!" Harmony cheered. "Heh, that's the first time I've.... ever... been able to do that!" Eliza realized.
She then looked at Harmony and asked, "So, err, yeah.. tell me a little about the muggle world! What's a, Zool? Where they keep the animals, and, a... rubber ducky?" Harmony fought the urge to laugh as she explained, "Um, it's not a Zool. It's a Zoo. It's like a museum but instead of statues, there's animals. The animals live in these enclosures, and then people can walk by a part of the enclosure and watch the animals." Harmony pinched herself under the table so that she wouldn't laugh, but it didn't really work. She accidently let out a small giggle. "I'm sorry. It's that I always that of these things as normal but you don't. Anyway," Harmony continued, composing herself, "A rubber duck isn't kept at a Zoo, seeing as it isn't exactly a real animal. Ducks are real, but a rubber duck is made of...well...rubber. It's a toy that are either collected or is used as a bath toy." Harmony hoped that she was making sense, and apparently she was, because Eliza asked another question, "And, and, a Camera! Is it like the ones at the Daily Prophet, that move? Or..... hmm. Eliza laughed. "I guess.. maybe.... Yeah." She smiled. Despite not being very clear, she still understood it all. 'She's pretty funny... Heh.' Eliza thought. She had really only been around her brothers, who mostly calm, contained, and stern, didnt really laugh much.
It was good to meet someone funny. Wait, she had already thought that. Eliza was tired, but kept talking, trying not to be rude. "Anyways... What do you like to do?" She asked curiously. "I know you like Writing, do you like drawing, or... animals, or..... you know!" She smiled. "I enjoy Singing. Maybe thinking about joining the Frog Choir... You know what that is, right? It's a group of Hogwarts students and frogs, and they sing and all that. Always sounded fun to me.... But I dunno about my singing voice...." She sighed. It had been a long week. A long day, and a long Month. She was glad the year was ending. Though, she didnt want to leave Hogwarts already! She decided there and then that she would spend the Holiday here.

"Anyways... What do you like to do? I know you like Writing, do you like drawing, or... animals, or..... you know! I enjoy Singing. Maybe thinking about joining the Frog Choir... You know what that is, right? It's a group of Hogwarts students and frogs, and they sing and all that. Always sounded fun to me.... But I dunno about my singing voice...." Eliza trailed off.
"Yeah, I like to write. I also like to draw, but I'm not that good at it. I like to draw sunsets or sunrises, but most of the time I don't really know what it is a few days later! I really like most animals. Not spiders though. I do not like spiders. I like every other animal. I like singing too, but I don't think my singing voice is very good either. But, I bet that yours is great. And in a choir, you don't sing solo. You sing in a group. they have muggle choirs so I kind of know what it is. I like to sing by myself, but I have stage fright and I can not sing in front of the whole school! I would freeze up! Frogs though, kind of make me nervous. Ok, funny story, when I was younger, like 7 or 8 years old, I was walking in my backyard, and we have this mini pond that frogs like to be in, and so I was walking over there, and this frog had somehow made it on my shoulder, and it croaks right in my ear! It was very loud and it scared me so much!" Harmony laughed.

"Hah!" Eliza laughed, nodding along to Harmony's explanation. "That's great! One time, a Raccoon got into our house! It was crazy! It opened our back door, and hissed at me and my family! It was SO terrifying!" She smiled. "He was kinda cute though. Its too bad he had escaped from the zoo. He seemed happier out in the wild." She sighed. "Anyways," She laughed. "Have you finished your classes for the day? I still have my study session. Its a bit of a bore, but I like it, no prob." She smiled. "It'll take a little getting used to this~ Hogwarts, I mean... Its amazing, magical, literally," She chuckled. "But... It's still not home.. I miss it.. I'm not sure why, I never did much at home. I miss my family. My mom, dad, brothers, the family owl," She smiled. "Its just~ Life~ when it changes, it~ it takes a little time, to get used to it. You know?" She looked at Harmony. Her eyes, were cold. Eliza was sad, she missed home, but felt privileged, lucky to be here, here in this place, that only wizards could go to, only wizards could experience, that only wizards would understand. She felt lucky, and for once, she knew how she wasn't alone~ but that tens of hundreds of thousands of students before her, the wizards and legends surrounding her, felt the same.

Harmony nodded. She knew exactly what Eliza meant. "I get it. I've never been the best when it comes to change. I know some people that love change, but I am not one of them. It freaks me out. I don't know what will happen! It's like the dark. I'm not scared of the actual dark, I'm scared of the unknown. Of not knowing what is around the next corner. Maybe you miss your home now and not other times is because you took your home for granted? I mean, now that I'm away from my home, I realize how much I took it for granted. I thought that I would stay there forever. Well, until college that is. Since I'm a muggle-born, I obviously had no idea that magic existed. I miss my family too, but we get to learn magic!! And not the illusion things that "magicians" in the muggle world do." Harmony put air quotes around the word "magicians". "But you'll get to see them during the summer and the holidays if you end up going to your home then." Harmony bent down to her bag and looked at her time schedule. "And yeah, I've finished my classes for today. What do you do in study session? Study and do homework?"

She smiled, nodding. "Yeah. I get it. It's weird to think that the muggles believe in "Evil witches" and "Magicians". I once studied a magicians wand, completely fake." She laughed. "I know its for their entertainment, but as a witch, its funny to watch them and see how stupid they look." She smiled. "Anyways, enough making fun of Magicians. "
"And yeah, I've finished my classes for today. What do you do in study session? Study and do homework?" Harmony asked Eliza, as she looked into her bag.
"Mhm. I think there's supposed to be a free time slot of it, in which the students can chatter," She leaned in. "But I've heard some of the teachers are trying to ban that. Sounds like something they'd do." She laughed, sitting up. "It's confusing~ While were in class, why not just make us do the work there? Stupid homework~ ruins my perfectly perfect spare time to write stories, and send letters to my friends and family. It's fine though, we can always get in a little more potion brewing, if you know what I mean." She laughed. 'Am I over-trying it? Im forcing myself too hard, aren't I~' She thought.

It's probably something really simple that I'm missing, but I haven't had any friends since coming here. Which also means that I haven't been invited to anything." Harmony paused for a second before saying, "I'm still getting used to it here, believe it or not, but at my muggle school, the work that we did in class was just called 'work', and then whatever we didn't finish would become 'homework' because we had to do it at home. Or that's why it's called that, I think. Maybe they should change the name to 'dormwork'. That doesn't work, does it? No. But if we don't practice, how can we get better?" Way to go, Harmony. That was such a Ravenclaw clique. I think another reason that we have homework is because one lesson isn't enough to fully learn it. It's like you can't jump on a bike for the very first time and expect to ride it perfectly the first time. It takes time. I'm also going to guess that you didn't need to hear my homework explanation.
