Not long after Opeila joined the two of them, a whistle had gone off. It seemed that enough players had shown up already. They all gathered to earn a set of the rules from Ruka, which seemed straight-forward. Everyone appeared to understand, at least as much as they could with a short informative pamphlet, and teams and positions were drawn for from a hat. When given his blue cloth, he tied it around his arm. A nice contrast to the orange. Flash had no complaints, he was happy to be on defense, and even liked a lot of his teammates. He wouldn't have to work with either of his dormies, for one. A shame that he and Willow were competing against each other though. Perhaps it was the universe's way of keeping balance, since they were so powerful together.
For some, it might have come as a surprise that Flash had grown up with sports and physical training, and was much stronger and sturdier than he appeared. He spent his childhood playing football at his other boarding school, and went on daily walks or jogs. Not only that, but house chores, helping around the stable, and now, practicing the drums.
It would only be proven all the more when most of those in attendance could barely stay standing on the uneven ice. Willow and Opeila both had trouble themselves, though Flash was regretfully not in a position to help them. Opeila rolling towards the goal, and Willow was on the other team. Not a great start, poor Willow. Still, the game didn't stop for them, it promptly began. Dealla quickly usurped the puck for their team and headed to the enemy goal, where Thomas was still trying to get ready. The chaos had started, but the mood had been properly set. Flash was certainly smiling.
There were only two of their teammates still standing-- the first year he didn't recognize, and Percival. Naturally, Flash felt the motivation to do as hockey players did and skate Percival's way with the intent to knock him off the balance he had maintained. If successful, he'd knock the snotty navel gazer on his butt and give him a snide grin. Any chance to attack his dorm mates was worth taking. They likely felt the same way.

After a few laps around the play area, watching the other players assemble, Kazuo skated to Ruka to hear him explain the rules and assign teams. He took the blue cloth and proceeded to twist it into a headband, securing it around his forehead with a tug. He glanced at his teammates: Dealla, Flash, Opeila, Lydia, and Jake.
Dealla he had met briefly in the hospital ward when he went to visit Ruka after the duel. Lydia and Jake were housemates though he didn't know them very well yet. Flash and Opeila he didn't know at all except by reputation. Glancing at the other team, he noted that he didn't know them very well either. Heinrich and Willow, once again housemates he had only met in passing, Henry he remembered from the hospital ward, and two Slytherin he knew nothing about. He gave a soft, amused chuckle.
He turned his gaze back to his teammates as they briefly discussed positions, letting Dealla take center while he and Flash flanked her on either side. The other team lined Heinrich up for the faceoff and Kazuo arched a brow at the wobbly first year. Not that his team was the most graceful sight - Opeila had basically slid into the goal - but it seemed their opponents were having a bit of trouble finding their legs on the ice. Even Thomas, the one student who appeared to know what he was doing, had lost his legs.
As Ruka skated to the center, holding the puck, Kazuo did a quick check to make sure his wand was safely stored in his pocket, in easy reach. Technically Ruka had said only the goalies could cast spells but that didn't mean he wasn't prepared to cheat if necessary. Listening to Dealla fail to reassure the shaky Heinrich he snickered.
"So much fun~"
As Flash lined up with Percival, he turned his attention to the unfortunate Henry Knight who rather gracelessly managed to flail himself onto his butt. Seems he picked a good side for his straight run to the net.
As the puck dropped, he pushed himself forward, racing toward the opponents net and their laid out goalie, eyeing Thomas with a grin. Though he couldn't know for sure, he had a good feeling that Dealla would take the puck so he prepared to catch a rebound should Dealla miss her initial shot or Thomas somehow manage to redeem himself and block it.

@Thomas Lestrange, @Percival Gray, Rest of the Team
It was a nice beginning to the game, skating along the ice with Flash's arm linked in hers and Opeila joining them shortly after. She almost forgot that they were going to be playing hockey against each other, this wasn't a joyful skate around the lake. No. Soon they'd be attacking each other with the pucks and sticks... maybe. She genuinely had never played hockey so she didn't know the details, luckily Ruka provided a pamphlet that explained the game in full. She took as much information down as she could before moving to her position as defense. She passed a glare at Percival Gray as she attempted to skate to her position, but since she was still near Opeila and Flash she promptly tripped over them as she was attempting to be intimidating and fell over.
Once on the ground, she pouted for a moment, looking around at who all had fallen down on the ice, and luckily she wasn't the only one. Even her goalie, Thomas Lestrange, a prefect who she had encountered in her brief time as a prefect in the bathroom. She couldn't help but giggle and wave at him. "Look at us~ Now we're big bummers on a big ice slab." A quick reference to something she said to him on their first meeting. They somehow met in peculiar circumstances, apparently meeting in the halls or in class was too good for them. Now she just had to get back up and actually participate in the game.

Opeila looked over to her goal when the game started. Now, she had to get over there quickly, before the others made their way- WHAM. It took her one second to lose her balance and land on the ground. Back up, back up! More difficult than it looked. At her first attempt to get back on her feet, she slipped, landing on her back this time. Frustrated and a little scared for her goal she looked up- luckily it seemed that the other team's goalie, Lestrange, was just as bad at skating as she was. Too bad he was not in attack position... This made it more difficult to 'accidently' hit him with a spell.
The second year ended up crawling over to her goal and trying to pull herself up with a red face- it had to look ridiculous, that people were watching made it even worse. Opeila tried to stay up on her feet, one hand on the goal, the other holding on to her hockey stick. Two boys were in the defense, one she knew, Flash Holmwood and the other she knew not so well. She met him once briefly, if she recalled correctly, a rather shy little kid. Well this would be interesting for sure.

Interacting with @Willow Anderson and @Dealla Prince
Not to his surprise, the area soon became populated with various individuals wanting to take part in the event. It was even more satisfying to see that he was the only Pure-blood pupil that was taking part, a sight that made him form a small smirk ion the corners of his lips as he walked over to slip on a pair of ice skates. He had been ice skating only a handful of times in his life, but from the few instances he managed to keep on his feet pretty well.
Percy sat down next to a log and tightly tied his laces, not concerned about how dangerous and risky the sport could be. After all, he had never played it in his life and probably never will again. Yet, soon after he had finished with his laces his eyes looked at a strange object beside him. The peculiar object was an unusual shape and seemed to have small similarities to one of a broom. He slowly got up and picked up the hockey stick, curiously examining the tool while he shuffled over to the lake. All he could think about was what was he supposed to do with it, whacking it over someone's head like a madman? who knew, maybe he would get a better idea when the game started.
He gracefully pushed himself onto the slippery and cold ice, decided not to wear any protection compared to everyone else. Percy even knew himself the protection was there for a reason, but he always chose the latter due to it hindering his movements, like when he practised on his broom without the required gear. The boy skated to his spot and came to a halt, staring at each one of his opponents with a expressionless expression. Even if he looked confident, he still had know clue how to use this obscure stick. Although, a key hint would be the small circular object on the floor.
As things began to click inside his head a person caught his attention as they shot a quick glance his way. Willow, a person who he had many run ins with was already finding a distaste in his presence. In reply, Percy shot her a quick grin to show that he wasn't bothered with her insolence.
When everyone was ready, the game began at a fast pace. Everyone began to slide everywhere as Percy swiftly skating towards the puck, extending his stick out to try and intercept the puck from Prince who was looking for a quick shot at their goal.

"Thank you," Heinrich would mutter quickly as the Gryffindor offered him a pair of skates. He would also brief though the pamphlet. Ice hockey was not a game he was familiar with, nevertheless, the boy would sit down and tug those shoes on. His question or not whether they were magic was not answered nor mentioned in the guide. His doubt only grew upon witnessing the players slip around him.
Very nervously had Heinrich got up on to his feet himself, blades knocking against the ice. The substantial lack of friction caused him to fumble a bit, his arms flailing wildly around in order to gain balance. Fortunately for Heinrich, he remained one of the few still on his feet, unlike most of his teammates who were now on the ground.
Due to the nature of his lycanthrophy, the unexpected piercing note of the whistle blown caused Heinrich's shoulders to raise instinctively in a flinch. The incident had only occurred a few months ago and Heinrich was only starting to get used to his enhanced senses. The game had started. However, realising that most of his teammates were still struggling to their feet, the timid boy would take the liberty to step forth to receive the puck.
The individual from the opponent's team however seemed much older than him with long brown hair and bright blue eyes and if he were to be honest, she kind of reminded him of Aurelia. Perhaps there was something about the way she spoke and reassured the nervous first year, Heinrich could only nod in response. In a split second, the Ravenclaw would mercilessly lead the puck with her towards the goal.
"W-wait I wasn't ready! I wasn't ready," Heinrich voice would raise before speeding in the direction of the girl.

Jake looked up at the girl who answered his hockey question and nodded. The problem was that that was the only part he knew, except for that there were two teams. Ruka handed out a helpful leaflet, but reading it while trying to keep your wobbly self up on the ice was hard and a task Jake wasn't quite ready for. When he had skated with his parents it had taken him a little while to get it right, but it hadn't been this hard. Maybe there was a bad part about being stuffed full of pillows after all...
Jake wasn't the only one having trouble though. One by one, kids were falling on the ice, and Jake nervously stared around - hoping nobody had gotten hurt, and trying to stop from falling himself.
"Are you okay...?" Jake asked the girl who had fallen in their goal. He didn't really know her very well (He didn't really know anybody on his team very well) but she had fallen hard...He tried to skate to take a closer look but began wobbling again, and soon there was a whistle and his attention was torn between the fallen girl and the game that was starting. When he saw Opeila get up on her feet and she wasn't crying, he looked back towards the center of the ice.
Jake's job was defense, which meant he was supposed to stand on his side and watch for the puck and not let it come towards the goal. It was the better job than the other one, because he didn't have to actually chase after it or anything. He just had to wait. If he got lucky, maybe the puck wouldn't even come to this side at all. His team was the blue team. He had put his own blue cloth in the neck of his jacket, because if he put down the hockey stick he was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to pick it back up again, and he didn't know where else he could stick it without having to tie anything.
The game started with that thing where the two people go into the middle and try to get the puck. Luckily, Dealla was the one who got it - that meant the puck was gonna go the other way and he probably wouldn't have to do anything at all. But then he saw something that made him gasp. Thomas took his wand out, and shot a spell right at Dealla!
Jake's mouth dropped as his head turned towards Ruka. Was he allowed to do that?
"Whoa..." Jake wobbled, knees shaking. The Hufflepuff tried to catch his balance, moving forward to stop from falling back, and picking up some unwanted momentum as he did. The boy stared down at his feet, waving his arms as he slid forward, suddenly realizing something awful. "I dunno how to stop!" he called out, heading straight for a first year on the other team, too surprised to even tell him to 'look out'.

It seemed to be such a good start for Team One.
With @Dealla Prince's confident grab for the puck and the determination she displayed when heading for the opponent team's goal, she seemed to be sure to score. Maybe, however, charmingly threatening a shy young boy to stomp his team into the ground brought along some bad Karma, because Dealla only made it halfway to the goal before her skates seemed to vibrate with an unwillingness to cooperate. One second for panic, two seconds for the horrifying realisation to settle in, and the young Ravenclaw girl was on the Ground with no choice but to watch as the Puck slid aimlessly across the ice, ready to be snatched by whoever was quick enough.
In the midst of the Chaos on Ice, Dealla would manage to get back on her feet again, but the Puck was lost, and there was nothing to do but try and regain steady footing again. Don't worry, Dealla, maybe luck will be on your side next time!
Looking slightly awkward but steady on her feet, @Lydia Cooper had not lost a second in wanting to help out her fallen team mate. Going after the slow and already wobbly first year was a good albeit somehow cruel strategy. Why don't you pick on someone your own size, Lydia!?
Still, the Half-Veela's efforts paid off - She would elegantly slide across the ice, shoulders squared, elbows out, and her body would collide successfully with Heinrich's. Already not particularly steady on his feet, the young Hufflepuff would wobble and flail for a moment, but with the force of all his 9 Strength and a great dice roll by yours truly, he would manage to stay upright. Still, the impact of the bodycheck would stay with him for a little while.
Meanwhile, the one person not concerned with his balance in the slightest was slowly starting to realise that protective gear was hardly necessary for this group of youngsters barely able to stay on their feet. Can you hear them quacking, Tom?
Despite his clearly superior skill, @Thomas Lestrange seemed happy to embrace the game for the fun pastime it was supposed to be, seeming delighted even to be a part of it. Still, a Slytherin was no Slytherin without some ambition to back it up and, lack of House Pride aside, Thomas was clearly not willing to lose. Lifting his wand, he would cast his spell just in time for the approaching Ravenclaw to fall and scramble back on her feet, eliminating any chance she may have had to still getting to the Puck before someone else could have snatched it away from her. His spell hit with astounding accuracy, despite the fact that he barely had any of it left while being on the ground and in Dealla's charming presence.
The young Ravenclaw would feel the impact in her left shoulder, causing her to slide backwards across the ice and far away from where she could even think of scoring a Goal.
With so much action going on within the first few minutes of the game already, some people were happy just to celebrate the little successes on the ice. @Ileen Knight had gone from unskilled novice to Ballerina on Ice within seconds; Standing up came much more naturally to her than moving forward had seemed to. Just as long as you're staying upright now, Ileen! Try to keep your feet away from your hockey stick from now on.
Almost equally as successful at getting back up was @Henry Knight. His slow approach would allow him to feel out the ice and find the perfect position to allow him to keep up amidst all the other kids more or less aimlessly skidding across the ice. Let's try and keep the Knights standing for a while now!
Standing was quite obviously not enough for @Flash Holmwood. With some sort of personal vendetta against his dorm mates - So snakes are not pack animals, it seems - he would target his fellow Snape boy, Percival, but his aim was certainly off. Ice Hockey wasn't football, and it appeared that most of Flash's sports experience had been made on grass and pavement, because one wrong movement had him hurtling towards one of his own team mates instead. If there was anybody to accidentally bump into, of course, it would have been Jake who provided a soft, comfy pillow to land on, but the little badger was moving too much - or too little? - to provide a real target for Flash, who ended up simply sliding past him. Anti-climatic, and potentially frustrating, but these were the moments to help you learn how to simply laugh at yourself.
Life throws you the lessons you need, does it not, Flash?
At least the Slytherin was still standing; His team mate @Kazuo Shimada had certainly had the right idea in heading toward's the opponent's net with the intention of snatching the puck for himself once Dealla had lost it one way or another, but maybe he had picked up too much speed on his way, had maybe missed a ridge in the ice, because soon after starting his sprint in the right direction, Kazuo would bellyflop onto the ice, skidding straight across it and in the direction of resident Ice Hockey Pro Thomas Lestrange. Keeping a puck out of the net was one thing, but what about questionable Hufflepuffs?
Fortunately, Kazuo would come to a halt in front of Thomas, limbs sprawled out, clothes covered in powdery snow. Despite the puck really being up for the taking, the fallen badger was in no position to get to it like this. Instead, he needed to waste some valuable time to get himself back up on his feet, to hopefully not lose balance again.
Another person getting back up on their feet was @Willow Anderson, yet another badger on the ice. Everybody else's moves had passed her by like a whirlwind as she pushed herself back into a standing position again, keeping decent balance now that she had seemed to have gotten more used to the ice. Amidst some inside jokes and teasing banter about bums and ice slabs, Willow would get back on her feet, fiercely prepared to unleash the rainbow in the next round to come.
Her friend @Opeila Winters, who had managed to crawl her way into her goal was less lucky with her attempts of standing up again. No matter how she would try to push herself upright, even with the help of her Hockey stick, she would constantly slip right back down again. Maybe it is a sign, Pei - Maybe you should take Thomas as an example and play this game sitting down. No need to exhaust yourselves, guys!
Meanwhile, the one person who seemed least likely to do so had gotten hold of the Puck. Fortunately it had gotten a little easier to keep his balance after having had the chance to get used to the ice for a little bit, otherwise @Percival Gray would have lost his balance. This way, however, he was merely a bit wobbly as he skated his way towards Dealla, focused on getting that Puck away from her. Good job, Percival, this is exactly how you use that stick when you're not whacking people over the head with it!
He would not even need to try and steal the puck away as Dealla had fallen before Percival could really try to intercept. Instead it was child's play for him to simply take the aimlessly skidding puck for himself and thus surely making himself the prime target for bloodthirsty members of Team One. Watch out, Percival, they're the Hunters and you are the Prey.
A little slow with the upkeep was @Heinrich Bezuidenhout and who could blame him? Threatened, bodychecked, and having his ears pierced by the non-lycanthrope-friendly whistle, the poor Hufflepuff's pleas for everyone to wait for him fell on deaf ears. With his eyes clearly set on revenge on the girl who had threatened to stomp him into the ground - which in this case may be a threat to drown the poor boy - Heinrich would skate towards Dealla at a high speed, ready to crash into her, but it seemed that the Ravenclaw was just sliding backwards as a result of having been hit by Thomas' Flipendo in that exact moment, causing the Hufflepuff to miss her by a hair and instead slide aimlessly across the ice with nothing in his way to tackle. Luck did not seem to be on Heinrich's side so far, but the tables are still just waiting to turn.
Yet another Hufflepuff was aimlessly sliding across the ice at that very moment. @Jake Morris, in all his marshmallow-y glory, had been too shocked by someone shooting a spell at another player to pay enough attention to what his own feet were supposed to be doing. Accidentally gaining some speed in his movements, Jake would hurl straight at Heinrich. The ball of pillows would awkwardly stumble into his fellow Hufflepuff just as Heinrich seemed to have recovered from missing his own bodycheck aimed at Dealla, causing both of them to trip backwards and into shaky footing.
That might just leave you dizzy for a little while, boys!

Well, her plan did not work exactly as she thought it would.
As she moved towards the young boy, assuming a position she had only seen a couple of times when there were hockey games on the television or at the ice skate rink, Lydia managed to hit the boy, even though the impact did not send him on the ice.
The tackle luckily didn't make her lose her balance, but the same thing could not be said for Dealla; the red headed girl looked at the scene with a worried expression as the Ravenclaw girl fell to the ground, the puck moving away from her. As if that wasn't bad already, the goalie of team two decided to cast a spell on Dealla, sending the girl farther away from the puck. Lydia's gaze stayed a little longer on the boy, thinking that she had already seen him somewhere; after a second, she realised that he was the pumpkin-juice boy from the Blossom Ball, and that was the reason why he looked familiar.
Concentrating back on the game, she noticed that Opeila was still on the ice, and that another member of team one had fallen victim of the slippery ice, and was now sliding across it on his tummy. After that, she looked around some more as she thought about what she could do; then, with a concentrated expression on her face, she started skating towards her next "target", determined to succeed -it might have been just a game between kids, but her ambitious side still surfaced every time there was some kind of competition involved.Action: Doing as strategised .

Hogwarts on Ice
Pride goeth before the fall.
And Kazuo was very proud. Not of such untenable things as being a pureblood or being wealthy, illusions of status, but rather, he was proud of his accomplishments, of his knowledge. Of the things he could do.
So perhaps when he took to the ice and began to feel comfortable, remembering what he had been taught, he grew too comfortable. And perhaps, when he had seen most of his team manage to keep their feet in some semblance of skill while the other side flopped about the ice, he grew overconfident.
The whistle blew. The puck dropped. In a burst of overeager excitement that was far more appropriate behaviour for an eleven-year-old than Kazuo’s usual introverted behaviour, he dashed across the ice only to discover that the ice wasn’t nearly as smooth as he had been expecting. Ah. Of course. A lake wasn’t like a rink. There were no machines to smooth the ice here.
Those thoughts passed through his mind as he stumbled over some flaw in the ice and, having picked up a fair amount of speed, continued to slide across the ice on his belly. As he finally slowed to a stop in front of Thomas he couldn’t help but to grin at the older boy.
“Well. That didn’t go as planned.” He announced as he pushed himself up off the ice and back to his feet. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back!” He told the goalie with a grin as he turned his attention back to his team. As he’d been sliding, it seemed things had not gone entirely as planned for the rest of his team either. Lydia successfully rocked the little Hufflepuff, Heinrich, but he managed to stay standing which was actually pretty impressive. Flash failed to intercept Percival and Dealla… well it seemed he wasn’t the only one to overestimate his abilities.
His focus narrowed to the puck - and to its current owner - Percival. The other team had managed to claim it and Opeila was still flailing around in the net. That did not bode well for his team. He pushed off, heading back toward his team’s side of the ice, intent on retrieving the puck.
