It's okay Katie said. Katie could certainly understand that the muggle world would have happier stories. Katie shouldn't hold it against anyone else if they choose to celebrate Christmas. Katie jus couldn't bra to do it herself. Of course, that did not mean Katie didn't enjoy singe of Christmas's traditions. Since the Winter Solstice and the Yuletide shared many similarities with Christmas, she had little to no difficulty taking part in many aspects of Christmas that overlapped already. Gift giving and decorating an evergreen tree to name a few. Katie leaned back in her chair as she felt more and more at ease.

Katie was finishing up her waffles at this point - the only remaining food on her plate. Katie twirled one off her thick, bushy ponytails nervously. Katie had never been the best at first introductions. Sure, her parents had instructed and taught her all of the social niceties one could have. It was expected of her as a pure-blood. That didn't mean Katie was suddenly extroverted though. She had been, and likely always would be an introvert do down. If course, as Katie fur Rio know someone better, she opened up and talked more. Awe long as Katie had enough downtime alone during a day, sure was certainly always open to spending time with other people.

Katie thought about asking Jessie to be her friend. On one hand, there had, and always would be certain expectations that friends would have of each other. Katie briefly thought through them, and quickly came to the realization that she was not ask that bothered by any of them, and that she would like too become 'officially' friends with Jessie. So do you want to be friends? Katie asked, slightly bluntly, hoping that Jessie would respond in the affirmative.

Katie slightly grinned at hearing Jessie accept her offer of friendship. Katie didn't have any siblings, so she smiled at Jessie's mention of a brother. Katie had always wanted a sibling, but according to get parents, one child was enough for them tho pass on the Palsorette lordship and to have an heir, and any more would ruin her mother's "perfect form". Katie understood that it was there choice and not hers, but Katie though they had stupid reasons.

^{Sure! I'd love to meet your brother,} Katie said, beginning broadly. What's his name? Katie curiously asked. Do you know if he shares any classes with us? We could meet up with him on the way to class. Katie casually suggested. Katie twirled her ponytail on her fingers again, and absent-mindedly picked at the tips, which were starting to spilt slightly. When she was younger, her mother had always trimmed her hair of course, but she did so every six months like clockwork. Her mother hadn't done it since April in 2019. Katie hadn't noticed until just now though.

Katie smiled, "That sounds awesome!" Katie said enthusiastically. She briefly glanced up at the clock. "Oh sh-oot!" Katie said avoiding outright cursing, "We're going to be late to class. Do you have Charms first? I checked our syllabus and apparently we'll be going over mostly theory today." she commented glumly, "And out is double charms so it'll be longer than a usual class period. " Then, Katie's smile brightened as she thought of as idea.color

"Wait!" she said, "If you also have Charms this morning, we could pass notes together! How does that sound?" Katie asked. Then, Katie looked over the neat sheet of parchment that she had written down today's schedule on.

"What house did you say your brother was in again?" Katie asked Jessie, checking to see which classes they might share with him.

Location: The Slytherin Table in the Great Hall

Katie brightly smiled back at Jessie. It felt so good for her to make a new friend and Katie was looking forward to continuing their conversation through notes.

"Perfect then, I will see you there! " Katie said, still smiling. She stood up from the breakfast table and slightly stretched her legs and cracked her back. Their were many other people who were also starting to get up from their tables and leave the Great Hall to go to what ever their first class of the day. She made sure that all of her mess was neatly organized into her single main plate in order to (hopefully) make things slightly easier on the house elves. Her parents often times would do the opposite of what Katie was dying right now, but then again, her parents were generally self centered, narcissistic, backwards-thinking jerks. Katie would never let them near that thought out loud of course, but it was true nonetheless.

After she finished, she flashed a quick smile at Jessie one more time before exciting the Great Hall and heading on to their classes.
