Percival walked down the halls with a sense of determination. His footsteps clacked harshly into the stone flooring that made up the cooridors. A smile was plastered onto his lips as he conversed with the shorter boy. His eyes held no warmth in them. Resembling nothing more than a pit of tar. The boy's smile was nothing more than a means to an end. Nothing more than a tactic to disarm the dark-haired boy. Though among the group of four boys it was not the best way to describe his target. Leonard Oaksworth, a boy who was as scrawny and insignificant-looking as they come. Percival didn't dislike the boy for any particular reason. He just seemed like easy pickings for him to enjoy and release the anger that swarmed in his chest like an angry hornet's nest.

The boy reminded Percival of an eager puppy. A puppy who so badly wanted to be accepted by his dormmates that he was willing to drop everything to follow after them. Oaksworth had positively jumped at the idea of 'getting to know' his dormmates. While they used the rope in Hanako's hand as a 'rope swing'. The boy would definitely be well acquainted with them by the end of today. Just not in the way that Leonard was expecting. Percival wondered if Oaksworth would realize that it was too late when they were alone by the lake. It was nearing the end of fall, the air was sharp and without a jacket, it would be too cold. The chances of someone venturing to the Great Lake were slim at best. He would be completely alone, and he doubted anyone in their small group would help him.

Percival made his way down the dirt path that led towards the Great Lake. His gaze flicked towards the two other boys in their small group. All three of them knew the plan. Hanako would be the lookout and Calvon would be assisting him. When they reached the shore, they would take the other boy by surprise. Grabbing him and then tossing him into the chilly waters. It would be simple, and with the pair putting their strength together, he doubted there would be a problem. In truth, the prank seemed rather tame compared to his other 'pranks'. Percival's mind wandered back to his encounter with Ivy Bellamy, and their failed encounter. He wondered if he had chosen this prank after its failed effect on the Gryffindor. It was possible he may be trying to soothe the agitation at getting bested by a girl.

The boy bit the inside of his cheek before pushing down his thoughts. They were here. Percival's shoes sunk into the familiar sand of the beach. The boy strode forward, ignoring the sand on the top of his shoe. Contrasting against the black of his leather shoes. Percival would glance behind him to gauge how far away Oaksworth was from him. The blond would flash the other a smile before making up a quick excuse to try and appease the younger boy's worries. It would do them no good if Leonard began to get cold feet. Percival's gaze would catch Calvon's before he gave the barest of nods. The boy would quickly look away and secure Leonard by his left arm. "Say, Oaksworth. Can you swim?" he said in a harsh tone as he dragged the other boy closer to the lapping shore.

Calvon’s head was, as usual, as cluttered as Santa’s workshop. Ideas flew around and destroyed his mind like the Tornado ripped through Dorothy’s home in the Wizard of Oz. But at this point, what could possible be going through the mind of an eleven year old? Well, to start off with, the young slytherin was attempting to get adjusted to school-life. Although he was discharged into regular life, he wasn’t really allowed to undertake in any stressful activities, which meant classes. So the pureblood spent most of his time either in his room, the library, or attempting to meet other people--keyword, attempting. So far, the young boy had only managed to meet some of his fellow dormmates. He had...thoughts, to say the least, on each of them. In fact, interestingly enough, Calvon decided that the first individuals he would stick with and extensively detail about in his journal would be his fellow Snapes. In fact, it was because of those particular group of boys, that Calvon found himself in the position he was currently in.

It was time to remove someone’s autonomy.

Hazing. The excuse to bring pain and discomfort unto others in the name of tradition. The jet black haired boy detested the idea of it both inside and out. However, this tradition, in and of itself, seemed true enough. He had no idea what the upperclassmen went through, but he was sure that some of the other Slytherins experience some type of unwanted discomfort during their summer event from hell. At the very least, he had received his hazing earlier with the myriad of injuries he sustained, and was still recovering from. So he let this slide. Just this one time. Just. This. One. Time. Those were the words he repeatedly told himself as he willed himself to go against one of his main, core values.

The events that led up to the current situation were nothing too spectacular. For one, Percival Rainwood, had informed Calvon earlier of the events that were going to occur and to whom they’d be occurring to Leonard Oaksworth. He was, apparently, a new addition to the Snape family, and that meant he was wet behind the ears.

Percival wanted to make that literal.

The older, much taller wanna-be pretty boy had barged into Calvon’s room with intentions are dark as his eye color. Calvon, who was taken aback with a mixture of fear, worry, disgust, figured that it would be a great opportunity to find out more about the 12 year old and, thus, Calvon forgave the boy’s lack of self-control and disrespect for privacy. And now, found himself cold…extremely cold. Only having on shorts and a t-shirt, the fair-skinned child was quickly regretting his departure towards the Great Lake. And it wasn’t only because of the wisps of wind that somehow found their chilling refuge up his pants and inside the crevices of his shirt. Everything seemed extremely bothersome. The earthy smell of dirt starkly contrasted the clean, disinfected aroma of Hogwarts. And despite the boy being a lover of nature, now was not one of those times--especially since Calvon could not shake the feeling that there was someone either following or watching them. Whether it was the extremely light sounds of footsteps, or the glimpse of what seemed to be a very large...raven(?)...whenever Calvon would turn his head to affirm his intuitions, there was nothing there. There may have been another Snape boy on the lookout by the name of Hanako Tone, but Calvon felt like Hanako was more focused on Percival’s relationship with Leo than keeping them all safe and out of trouble.

It filled the boy with a little paranoia, as the thought of an inevitable doublecrossing by Percival started to sprint through his mind. It would be deceitfully clever, while Calvon could see, and mentally noted, that deceit was the young athlete could play. He hoped that he was in a different category from the painfully average, nerd of a boy that was Leonard Oaksworth, and not a lamb carelessly walking, and smiling, with its butcher.

Unfortunately, the time to think was over.

With just the faintest of nods, a signal that would not miss the emerald, eagle-eyed boy, Calvon would quickly move up onto the other side of Leonard and stick his neck out as if interested in their conversation. And that’s when he heard it.

"Say, Oaksworth. Can you swim?"

Damn, looked like Calvon wasn’t going to be the only person complaining about the cold.

With a deep, conviction-filled breath, Calvon locked both of his arms around the scrawny arms of their unfortunate victim. His strength was very unimpressive, and despite Calvon yearning to become stronger since his incident with the werewolf, you can’t exactly work out in a hospital bed. So he hoped that, together, he and Percival’s strength would be enough to hold Leonard as the two dragged him towards the shore.

Calvon would say nothing. He couldn’t say anything. If Leonard, or anyone saw his eyes, they’d see that the bright light usually shining behind his gem-like eyes was dampened. It was obvious; he didn’t take pleasure in the eventual dunking of the boy.

But sometimes, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.

If the ends justify the means, then shouldn’t we wait to see how things turn out?
