Finish the story
I'll start by writing the start of a short story and then someone will continue a part of the story and when someone thinks that the story is long enough or that it is going nowhere then they can make a start to a new one and so on.
Wind rushed through my hair as I watched the land around me fly past. The galloping sound beneath me soothed my ears from the loud grumbling of my parents. I was finally free...

While running in my endless freedom, I sped past a lake and a tiny stream, I also ran into the opening into the dark thicket of woods. Leaves from my burst of activity dived into my hair, the wind whirled around my barefooted toes, and the shadows darkened as the sun went down. I never noticed the way the trees rolled under my footing, and while lost in thought a tree root appeared in front of me. I then tripped into an abandoned meadow surrounded by the moonlight...

In the meadow all was peaceful. My hair stopped whipping around and my bare toes no longer stung. The wind seemed to quiet down and there was stillness. Stillness, such a rare thing. The moon seemed to sine down in the center of the meadow, almost like an afterthought, as if the creators of such a lovely place decided that it needed some light after creating it, and so formed the moon in a way that it would eternally light up this small haven.

I could hear animals making a rustle as they walked over the leaf-covered forest floor. Owls and various other birds flapping their winds in the silent night. The trees towered high above me, barely hiding the moon from my sight--but it was still visible. A small portion peeked through the crown of the branches. I leant against the trunk of a nearby tree and slowly started to relax...

Only, I was not alone. The branches of a nearby bush rustled and I sat up, alert. Was I followed? Had someone- something- trailed after me in the dark? Many a monster flashed through my mind as I pondered what could have kept up with me. I was afraid, my earlier peace shattered by my own imagination. The branches rustled again and I shot up from my position against the tree, angling my body toward the bush. It parted like water, opening to a black emptiness I could not see past...

A majestical creature galloped through the aesthetic waterfall and walked towards me. It's tail twitching to keep away the flies.

Wind rushed through my hair as I watched the land around me fly past. The galloping sound beneath me soothed my ears from the loud grumbling of my parents. I was finally free...
Gliding away, trees and tall grass, never mowed, flew past and wind hit my face. I hid my face in the horse's mane to shield it from the cold bitter autumn air with the smell of fresh apples on the wind. For now, for one small moment away from my parents, I was free.
Until all I could feel was falling as the horse reared, leaving me in the dirt as it fled back to the barn, miles away. I laid on the ground, grass two feet high hiding me as I heard something emerge from the deep woods. Leaves crunching, grass rustling, I dared not move as, for now, I was hidden. I closed my eyes- I didn't want to see, and all was still.
Everything went cold, and I felt that even if I escaped, the fear would stay with me, that this thing, it would chase me down, it would find me. But I knew what this was. I knew that I was a witch, but dared not use magic- not yet. I knew that it had to be a dementor.
I slowly crept back, until my back touched a tree, and opened my eyes, breathing deeply and silently as an empty hooded figure glided, mere meters away. I knew how to repel it, but I couldn't. I couldn't use magic. So I waited, doing nothing, just breathing and waiting as it grew closer and closer, until eventually it faced me and I knew that whatever was behind the empty hood had seen me.
The dementor stared at me for several seconds that felt like years, until it shrieked- a horrible, blood curdling shriek- and flew, robes whipping every which way from the wind, away through the forest.
I waited, and knew what was coming, so when a bright blue light silently appeared, moving no leaves and making no sound, I wasn't afraid. A warm, glowing lynx stepped out from behind the trees and grew nearer to the tree of which I was still crouched at in the grass. As it approached, I heard a faint, reassuring jingle sound and knew that I would be alright. I saw more dementors appear in the woods, growing near as they could, circling me, but the lynx sat and my side until the sun rose and midnight faded, chasing the darkness away. And I knew that we would meet again.
