Late at night

Paige shifted in the owlery. She was second-guessing her decision. I mean, being shy is terrible. I'm ready to prove to everyone that it doesn't define me. Paige wasn't always shy. It only started when Patricia got in a fight with her but was complete once her parents got divorced. The old Paige would have been racing up here, knocking on every door on the way. People really do change. But she was determined to squash her shyness. She swore that this year would be her awakening. She started walking around the owlery until she found what she was looking for. She found a mouse scurrying along the floor. Quick as a flash, Paige was scooping up the terrified mouse. She closed her eyes and told the mouse what she needed. She needed a distraction so Ruby Red could get here uncaught and so they could cause mischief while everyone was distracted. She put down the mouse who scurried off. Paige looked out the window, thinking. From the side of her eye, she saw a handprint on the ground. Hmmm. Her thoughts were interrupted as she heard someone yelling. She ran down and saw ghosts knocking over things, peeves saluting to the mouse before running off to get dung bombs, and thousands of mice running between the hopping feet of the teachers. Everyone was out now. It was perfect. This is why she liked rodents. Loyal things, rodents are.

Late at night
Ruby wandered around the castle, waiting and listening for Paige to send her the signal. As she wandered, her thoughts drifted to her previous life, before she knew magic was real. Ruby smiled as she remembered some of the pranks she and her sister had done before she left for school. Hmm... I think wrapping string all around someone's dorm room or classroom would be fun... She thought. I remember when me and Violet did that to each other, without us even knowing it! We laughed so hard when we saw both our rooms had been blocked off! Ruby let out a small laugh as the memory resurfaces, before trying to think up ideas for new pranks with Paige. Hmm, I wonder if Paige and Violet will like each other if they meet. Well, it will definitely be fun! After a few minutes, she turned a corner and watched for a moment as mice ran all over the place, with ghosts causing havoc with Peeves! Ruby grinned before turning around and walking off towards the Owlery, moving quickly and silently. When she arrived, she knocked quietly on the door before slipping inside with a small smile, excited for what was to come.
