First Year Transfiguration
The Professor entered into the classroom as he sighed heavily not ready for the first day of the term. He set down his briefcase as he waited for the students to fill into the classroom. Once they were all seated he began the lecture;
"Hello everyone! Welcome to your first year of Transfiguration! I'm sure you are all excited to learn this year about transfiguration and its sub-branches and what we will be learning. But first, before we begin any transformation. We must understand the basics, shall we?" The Professor used his wand with a swish and the sub-branches appeared on the black board.
"There are 5 sub-branches of Transfiguration and they are, Transformation, Switching, Vanishment, Conjuration, and Untransfiguration. The mathematical formula is spelled as such, (a), viciousness (v), wand power (w), concentration (c) and a fifth unknown variable (Z). You will find this in your books, A Beginner's Guide To Transfiguration, now with that being covered. I hope you wrote it all down on your parchment. Let's now introduce one another and begin the following topic amongst your neighbors, 'What Do You Want To Learn This Year?'." The Professor stopped the lecture and went to sit at his desk.

Kat was writing down the branches of Transfiguration and the mathematical equation. She scowled as the teacher went and sat at his desk.
Just teach the lesson. Said the voice in Kats' head.
It's not like anyone would want to talk to me. It doesn't matter to me.
We have to take Transfiguration with Gryffindors... Of course, they don't wanna talk to you. You're in Slytherin.
Well, I didn't realise that. She replied sarcastically.
She looked around for anyone that would actually talk to her.

OOC: I hope you don't mind me joining?
For once, Lex felt like he would like this class. He actually listened to the professor and jolted down notes in his own weird language he made up a year ago. He felt the need to improve it, but at the same time he really didn't want to.
He eyed the equation and rotated his parchment. It looked like something. Wait, what was he doing again? The professor... oh yeah. What did he want to learn his year? Honestly, he only discovered magic two years ago, when his aunt felt like telling him. They never practiced though, but he read a few books. Transfiguration intrigued him, which is why he 'liked' this class. Hexes sounded interesting, but he didn't hope for it. After all, he wasn't great in Charms either. Maybe Care for Magical Animals? It sounded friendly... hopefully.
Though he thought about it, he didn't really want to share it. It felt useless to him. He sunk into his desk and tried to remain unnoticeable. He stared off and daydreamed. Oh, he spotted a girl. She looked like she wanted to talk.
He uttered out a small "Hey." towards her, but not moving from his lazy position.

Kat looked towards the boy, surprised that someone had actually said something to her. "Hey," she muttered, flicking her purple hair over her red eye as her black one that seemed dull and lifeless.
At least try to be nice.
Don't push it. I'm already talking to someone. I think that kindness can wait.
You're just rude.
You're one to talk.
She brought herself back to reality, slightly annoyed that the voice wouldn't shut up.

Owen was sitting to the other side of Leslez, all of the possible stuff that he though he might need for the class arranged haphazardly on top of his desk. He was dutifully taking notes on the points that seemed to him to be the most important.
Owen set down the quill for a brief second, resting the hand that had begun to hurt. He wondered when they would start actually using wands in their lessons, it had been what he was expecting but he had been disappointed in all of his classes so far. At least transfiguration seemed interesting, albeit something he would have once thought impossible. Turning to his side during a brief lapse in the teachers talking, he saw a boy and a girl chatting.
Hoping they wouldn't mind to much he offered a small "Hey" in greeting.

While the professor was speaking and the students were talking to each other (well, they weren't talking that much, but you know), something, or better, someone suddenly interrupted the lesson, opening the door with hurry and complete tactlessness. The door slammed against the wall, startling everyone in the classroom.
Everyone except the teacher, who was staring at the intruder with a harsh look.
"De Amoris, couldn't you be on time for once in your life? You're always late" The professor said, scolding him.
The boy just bowed his head, while his breath was still short and his forehead covered in sweat, and answered in a low voice.
"I-I'm really sorry, I was just..."
"I don't care," He said, interrupting him "but if you come late again, I will take points from your House, so you better be responsible"
The kid just went to a free desk to sit down, staring at the ground, ashamed.
He was always late for classes. Sometimes five minutes, sometimes ten, sometimes fifteen. That was caused by many reasons. For example, he doesn't have enough time to complete his homework, sometimes he gets lost in the castle (he really needs a map), sometimes he just forgets about the lesson and he has to run through the castle. He often gets hurt during the process: he has a few bruises on his arms already.
Darius put his Transfiguration book on the desk with his quill, grabbing his Magical wand with his right hand. The class started five minutes ago, but the notes on the blackboard were already erased.
He looked around, staring at his classmates: he had to take those notes. Every note was important to him.
He looked at the Slytherin girl, but she didn't write that much on her parchment. He looked at the Hufflepuff and the Gryffindor, both of them had taken enough notes. Darius started whispering at the Gryffindor since they were from the same House.
"Hey, psst. Excuse me... Could you please share your notes with me, if that doesn't bother you?" He asked politely, staring at the boy while lightly biting his lower lip from anxiety.

Lex felt something off about her, but ignored it. Everyone was weird somehow. Still... something interesting was going on with the Slytherin. When he was waiting, a Gryffindor decided to call them both as well. Lex nodded over at him but did not continue as he motioned to the one who just sat down and currently asking for notes. He felt a little bad for him, being yelled at by the professor. Maybe he just got lost? Lex glared for a split second at the professor before returning neutral.
Lex thought of what to say. What did... hm... did he even know her name? No, he did not. He can't recall it. She probably doesn't know him either. Maybe he should introduce himself. Maybe. Was it a good idea? Probably. Stop thinking about it then, just do it. Coward. No I'm not. Shush, go back to reality.
He turned to the girl. Ok so... introduction. He twitched a little (as usual) before beginning to speak quietly "Leslez Skoris, or Lex for short. You?" he waited for her answer patiently. "I'm twitchy, I hope it doesn't bother you." he added without a change in tone or expression. He wasn't writing anymore but he looked like he was fidgeting with something under the desk.

James opened the door slightly, peeking in. Was this the class he was supposed to be in? It looked like it. James saw a label displaying the name "First Year Transfiguration" and stepped inside the room.
"Sorry I'm late..." he said to whoever was supposed to hear it.
James quickly sat down at an empty desk and looked around.
He saw some students that he'd seen in the distance before, probably at the Sorting Ceremony, but he didn't know their names. He turned to the person next to him and whispered carefully to them.
"Um, what are we doing right now? Have I missed anything?" he asked.
Probably... his mind told him.

If Aileen had known more students would enter the class late, she would've stayed in her comfortable bed a little while longer. A yawn slipped past her lips while her blue hues shifted through the classroom. It was a mess. Students started talking among each other as soon as the teacher had decided it was time to introduce themselves. She scoffed. What did she want to learn this year? How to avoid taking part of classes like this sounded like a pretty good thing to study. An unfamiliar voice called out to her and she turned her head to see that one of the students who had came in late, had taken a seat next to her. Great. She thought. Now I have to be social too.
"Um, what are we doing right now? Have I missed anything?"
No, worry not young student. You have not missed a thing. Not anything interesting for that matter. "The professor wrote the strangest formula on the black board, something about viciousness and wand power." Her voice devoid of any interest though her eyes curiously observed the student. A Hufflepuff, definitely someone she had not seen before. "I've written it down just in case but..." She shoved her parchment towards him, revealing the formula that had been written on the board earlier surrounded by rather creative doodles of her fellow students. "Not quite sure if you can follow it."
She didn't mean it in a mean way, though perhaps it did come across as such. No, she merely meant that her doodles were literally all over the parchment, even at some parts of the formula. "But apparently right now we're supposed to discuss what we wish to learn this year. So, little Hufflepuff, other than learning how to be on time for class, what do wish to learn?"

Owen had turned to watch somebody of the students who were arriving late came through the door, he turned back to his note taking when gen heard a voice behind ignore h M. Owen turned around when he heard the voice. Looking over Darius quickly he realized that he had seen him a couple of times inside of the Gryffindor common room. He gave him a quick smile in greeting and turned back to his desk so as to grab his notes and hand them back to Darius.
"You're in Gryffindor, right? I think I've seen you in the common room once or twice." he said, he then extended his hand and continued, "I'm Owen."
