A Rainy Day Stroll
~Winter Rains~
Aoife could feel the cool chill of the Scottish winter bite are her rosy cheeks as she made her way across the grounds. She could hear the rain pattering down upon the umbrella that her mother had sent her along with a note that simply said.
"I told you you'd forget something~"
Aoife smiled softly as she could just imagine her mother speaking the words with an I told you so-like lilt to her voice. She took a breath taking in that unique scent one could only get during or after rain. It was such a comfort to Aoife because it reminded her of one of the most important and happiest moments of her life. She could remember a day not too far back in her past where she'd finally begun to resign herself to the possibility that she might not possess any magical talent whatsoever. It had been a difficult pill to swallow but at the time Aoife had tried her best to prepare herself to do so.
It was just so difficult having to watch her siblings slowly preparing for another year at Hogwarts. A place that she might only hear about but never see. It had been that thought that had thrown the floodgates wide. In that moment Aoife had never felt worse she felt the ache of wanting something so desperately but feeling like it would always beyond her reach no matter how hard she tried. She remembered curling up in her bed beneath her covers and quietly crying.
And then it happened.
She hadn't noticed it at first but soon it was impossible to ignore. Her blankets were completely drenched as well as everything else in the room. She had thrown the covers aside and looked up at the ceiling to find dark clouds hovering about with miniature flashes of thunder flashing within. Rain pelted down upon everything and it took Aoife so long to realize it.
She had done that.
She grinned at the memory tilting the rim of her umbrella back so she could gaze upwards at the grey clouds floating about high up in the sky. And the grin upon her lips only broadened to most such dark clouds and dreary weather was a downer. But to Aoife it was wonderful if she wasn't so sure there would be a howler in her future if she did so, She would have loved to simply fold her umbrella and just stand in the rain for a little while. But luckily she wasn't completely daft wet and cold didn't mix well and the last thing she needed was to be fighting off a cold or flu.
Still she could enjoy the weather from beneath the safety of her umbrella and for the time being that is what she'd do as she found a relatively somewhat dry spot beneath a tree and sat down making sure to keep her umbrella above her head to protect her from the fat droplets of rain dripping from the tree's branches.

A Rainy Day Stroll
The eleven-year-old did not have much of a fashion sense unlike his sister Aurelia who always dressed with grace and dignity. It was one of the things about her that he envied and also the reason why had begun to borrow some of her apparel from her wardrobe after her recent enigmatic appearance. Despite being the younger child, he was about the same height and size as the fourteen year old was. Unfortunately, contrary to what he believed, the young boy would not seem to be able to pull off an outfit as effortlessly as Aurelia had.
The outfit (coat, jumper) was colourful, very colourful indeed. Unlike Aoife, Heinrich did not carry an object to shield himself from the pelting droplets of cold rain as he crossed the grounds. Most students were back in the castle due to the forlorn Scottish weather but not Heinrich, he disliked crowds. Like always, his head would be tilted to the ground as his long legs covered the distance with every step. His slender fingers tucked into his pocket. He was embarking on a mission to find a place of solace where he could complete his assignments.
Heinrich was very much an anti-social child. Before Hogwarts, Heinrich was homeschooled for a period of time until that fateful incident which forced his parent's hand to send him to a magical school. Aurelia, his older sister was supposed to guide him through this new foreign environment but had disappeared before he even entered the school grounds. Now Heinrich was all on his own, and he preferred to keep it that way.
Puddle. The miniature pool of brown murky water rippled as the rain added on to its volume in front of him. It was so tempting. Too tempting. But Heinrich was still very much a child, a boy with a sheen of innocence and youthful spirit yet. Before he knew it, he'd taken the leap forth. His feet coming in contact with the muddied water, the contents splashing all around in a satisfying fountain.

A Rainy Day Stroll
Aoife picked idly at the damp grass beneath her plucking a single blade of it from the millions of others out of sheer whim out of anything else. She closed her eyes simply listening to the soft patter of the falling rain above. It was funny how satisfying it was to hear if Aoife sat here long enough she had no doubts that she'd probably be able to fall asleep. Sure it may not have been the "Best" idea but it didn't sound too horribly unappealing. Perhaps she could get her mother to send her a tend and she could camp out on the grounds on of these nights. Although that did raise the questions as to if such a thing were even allowed. Perhaps this was something she might want to ask about first before actually attempting.
As she opened her eyes she caught a glimpse of a form in the distance crossing the grounds. The sight surprised Aoife even moreso when she realized that the person making their way across the grounds in the pouring rain had nothing whatsoever to protect themselves from the elements save for the clothing on their back. She blinked as she watched the figure seemed to pause appearing to look down upon something on the ground. "Perhaps they'd lost something?" she thought for a moment as she watched quietly. She watched a moment longer in time to see the figure leap forward feet first into a puddle.
She couldn't help but smile at the person's antics but despite how much fun they appeared to be having she knew that a moment longer in the Scottish winter with wet clothing was not doing any favors for this person's health. So shifting to her feet and swiping the back of her pants of water she made her way over keeping a respectable distance away her umbrella shielding her from the showers coming down. "Yer gonna catch yer death in this weather if ye dinnae cover up a wee bit better lad."
