The tense aura of their mother spread to Rose and her siblings, making Rose rock on her feet awkwardly. This was why they all jumped at a knock on the door. Pearl Moon fluffed up her hair, holding her wand by her stomach absentmindedly, and then strode over to the door, murmuring something, opening it in front of her. Her children bunched together in the doorway from the kitchen to the living room, facing the front door curiously.

Standing in the doorway was a handsome man in a tuxedo. He looked very put together and was carrying roses. Red roses. "Luke!" exclaimed their mother, her entire face lighting up at the sight of him, almost identical to the way Rose's did. She rushed forward to hug him, kissing him on the cheek as they parted. "It's so wonderful to see you- you look dashing! Of course- I don't mind the change of plans, it's no problem." She would then spy the roses that he held in his hands, her face flushing pink. She would reach her hands out, holding the roses like gold, fingering the flowers thoughtfully. Roses had been Rose's father's thing with their mother. He had given her roses on every special occasion and there were roses on all kinds of their things. He had even named Rose after the flowers that were so important to them. This "Luke" guy couldn't have known, but Rose was sure that was what was going through her mother's mind as she paused for a moment, thoughtful. She then snapped back to reality. "Thank you. That was so thoughtful of you. They're so pretty. Please, come on in." Pearl stepped back, holding the door open and closing it once they had all come in. Chaska's nose twitched and the silver cat jumped out of her arms, bounding over towards the newcomers. She didn't go greet Luke first, however, but would go past him.

Rose took her eyes off of the man as they started to come into the kitchen, out of the cold. He had three people behind him. A younger looking man that might have been his son, as they had the same hazel eyes, and a girl in a green dress who was probably his daughter. And-

"Henry!" Rose exclaimed, her voice lined with excitement at recognizing her close friend from Hogwarts and taking the few strides to go hug him, leaving the refuge and safety of her siblings. Chaska had rubbed herself against his leg, arching her back and purring- she had met this guy before! And he had been nice to her, too.

Rose's mother looking from her daughter to Henry, she said, "You two know each other?"

Rose nodded bashfully, feeling awkward with the attention on her. "He's one of my good friends at Hogwarts," she said.

Rose's mother looked almost relieved. Maybe she was worried they wouldn't get along? "That's wonderful! Now, Luke," she said in her "introduction" voice. "These are my five children- Faith, Franklin, Gabriel, Jessica, and Rose." She would point to each of them as she said their name. Her hand was on his shoulder while the other one was holding the roses and her wand, though Rose wasn't sure she was aware. She would look up at him, making eye contact. "I know it's hard to remember, but you'll get it eventually." Then she would look at her children.

Oh.

Oh.

In one moment, it all came crashing around Rose. The fancy wear. The red roses. The kiss on his cheek. The way she looked so happy to see him, and yet just the slightest bit bashful at the same time. Her hand on his shoulder. The way he looked at her. The way she looked at him.

"Kids, this is Luke. He's my-"

"Boyfriend," Jessica blurted, finishing the sentence for their mother. Embarrassed at her interruption, she muttered, "Sorry."

Though Pearl didn't seem fazed or angry at Jessica. With a happy nod, the blonde woman nodded. "Yes. He's my boyfriend."

Rose bit her lip. Well, this sure was awkward. "Let's eat!" the blonde woman broke the silence, moving to sit down at the table.

"I'll get us out of this, don't worry merlin," Arthur's voice whispered into Henry's ear who was besides him and awaiting to meet their father's girlfriend which would add an extra shock to Henry who whispered back in his brother's ear " I'm counting on it Art."

Upon that a close to young woman in a green dress answered the door and spoke directly to their father who responded back "you look beautiful as well darling, I'm glad the change isn't a bother to you," Henry squinted his eyes at the sight of his father returning the kiss on her cheek before whispering toward his brother " so that's Peral then? I'm betting 5 sickles that she's pureblood," Henry saw his brother give him a slight smile before whispering back " I'm not betting something that we know it's true merlin," after that they family of four was invited in to the two story house what it looked like.

Once they stepped inside, Henry smiled lightly and rolled his eyes a bit while looking at his brother whom chuckled a bit toward him when the two saw that Pearl had one arm on their father's shoulder and the other on the roses. Their father; Luke they saw had put one arm around Pearl's shoulders and back the other holding onto the one on his shoulder as he spoke " your house is lovely Pearl, I'm glad I finally get to see it." Henry stayed behind his father and next to Arthur whom he looked up to and whispered "how long do you think they were dating for and why do you think father kept it a secret?"

" A year maybe? Maybe he didn't want is to judge him or anything," Arthur whispered back to his younger brother whom looked at him before turning his graze to his twin sister. Henry watched Annabeth now standing the house and right next to their father, haven't spoken a word yet and kept her arms crossed but he could look at her for long since a small cat whom look familiar to Henry started rubbing on his legs. Henry kneeled down and starched the creature behind their ears while Arthur whispered to them " instead of attracting chicks, you attract cat's Henry. Really smooth," Arthur laughed a bit at his younger brother who stood back up and whispered back to him with a joking smile " not all of us could be as good with the ladies as you Art."

Before the two brothers could continue their whispered conversation, Henry would feel someone hug him and shout his name in a weirdly familiar voice. Once the hug ended, Henry turned to see who was it as be spoke quite loudly actually and shocked " Rose?" Henry couldn't believe it and be couldn't understand why she was there as he looked down and now confirm within him that the cat was Chaska before looking at the four other children coming to the conclusion that Rose was Peral's daughter and his father was dating her mother.

Henry stood shell shocked with all eyes on him was making the boy write nervous as he inched closer toward his brother who whispered " good with the ladies to aren't you Henry? But seriously don't tell me you know about father the whole time," Henry just shook his head a bit toward his brother as he inched closer to him allowing Arthur to put his arm around Henry's shoulders. While Pearl seemed to question how Henry and Rose knew each other, Luke just nodded at the interaction before his girlfriend introduced the rest of her children.

After her introductions, Luke would then speak keeping his one hand around her shoulders while with the other gesturing to each as he spoke " it is nice to meet your children Pearl and it isn't that difficult to remember them," he then would gestured to each of his own as he spoke " my own children Annabeth and Henry are both twelve with Henry in his second year at Hogwarts. And Arthur is currently in training becoming a auror," before smiling at Pearl and speaking " and you three this is Pearl Moon."

Henry was still at shocked that his father was dating the mother of his close friend while he saw from the corner of his eyes; Annabeth had her arms crossed and was looking else where and Arthur took a step forward removing his hand from Henry's shoulders as he held his hand out toward Pearl before saying " it's a pleasure to meet you Pearl as well as your children to," he then would take a step back again and Henry would inch closer toward him allowing for Arthur to wrap his arm around his shoulder again.

Then Pearl introduced their father which had rather a awkward going before she declared that they ate to what Henry thought of was going to be a awkward dinner that night.

Luke would move with her toward the dining table keeping her arm wrapped around her and saying to her " I'm glad some of them get along, I was hoping they all get along tonight Pearl. Your house and children are both lovely as I'm sure the food is to," Annabeth would then roll her eyes and keep her arms crossed as she would walk to the dining room accidentally bumping into Franklin whom she would stare at a moment with icy piercing blue eyes like Henry before saying " sorry," and continuing the dining room where she would stand in a corner.

Henry would give Rose a smile before feeling the arm around his shoulder of his brother and walking with him toward the dining room as he looked up at Arthur and gave him what looked like a shocked face followed by a smile, Arthur would then sneeze his younger brother's shoulders and return the smile.

There were a few things that were clear to anyone-

One- Rose was really close with her siblings. Before she had rushed forward to hug Henry, she had been standing really close to them, and she felt much more comfortable in their presence than anyone else's she had met so far.

Two- Henry and Arthur were really close, even closer than Henry had suggested and Rose had guessed. He had his arm around his shoulder pretty much the whole time, and they were whispering. Rose couldn't make out exactly what they were saying, but she could hear the whispering from where she had been standing by her siblings.

Three- Rose and her siblings were shocked to hear this news, as it was their first time hearing it, but they were trying to be polite so they didn't let their mouths hang open... too long. Rose never would have guessed that was what was happening. A lot can change in thirty minutes. And a lot had changed in the last thirty minutes. Or maybe nothing had really changed at all. Maybe their perspective on what was had just changed. 'I shoulda known, I shoulda known,' she thought.

Anyway, while Rose was still standing by Henry, she could faintly hear Arthur whisper something about how Henry was good with the ladies. The feminist side of Rose wanted to retort that they were friends and she didn't see him that way and that she would hate to be a stepsister to someone who saw girls the same way he saw cats. But she bit her lip, the polite side of her not wanting to ruin this for her mother.

"Oh, thank you. It's not much, but it's big enough for a family of six," she smiled. Rose hadn't seen her smile like that in a long time.

Luke then started to introduce his children, though the only person who didn't need their names was Rose. Henry, Annabeth, and Arthur. The Moon children had always joked that their first initials, in order of birth, were FFRGJ. Depending on whether Annabeth or Henry were born first, it would either be AHA or AAH, which Rose found amusing.

Arthur would step forward toward Rose's mother. Rose's mother was less of a person to give a handshake and more of a hugger. But, obviously, she was trying to be more cultured since Arthur seemed the slightest bit cold toward her, and accepted the handshake. "Oh, it's wonderful to meet you as well, Arthur," her voice was just as warm as Rose's, and carried the same type of American accent.

Annabeth accidentally bumped into Frankie. He would look her up and down, freezing and not sure if she was mad at him. "No problem," he replied at her half-hearted apology.

They all sat down, and Luke complimented the blonde woman once again, saying that he was sure the food was going to be wonderful. Pearl waved her wand, and the creamy potato soup started serving itself to the ten people seated around the table. "Thank you. Your children are beautiful as well. I can tell you're related," she said. Was her mother flirting? It was her boyfriend, after all, so Rose didn't know why she was so surprised. She cracked a sly smile. "I hope the food is good. But I did have this one-" she gestured her spoon towards Gabe. "In the kitchen with me, so you never know."

Gabe put up his hands, as if in surrender. "All I did was set the table!"

"Wherever Gabe goes-" started Pearl. "Disaster follows," chorused the whole Moon family.

With a dramatic sigh, Gabe rolled his eyes and murmured, "I know, I know." Oh, yes, the Moon family was not without a sense of humor.

"Arthur," Rose's mother addressed. "You're training to be an Auror? I've heard that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to even get the marks that you need to become an Auror, and the training is just as hard. It's impressive," she praised him, clearly impressed.

"Aurors are super cool," Gabe contributed before starting to eat his potato soup.

Rose loved potato soup. It was pure, thick, creamy goodness, with little chunks of potato in it. It smelled heavenly and tasted even better, and when Rose spooned some into her mouth, she almost melted in her chair.

Arthur kept his arm around Henry as they entered the dining room and when the two adults starting flirting, Henry glanced at his brother and rolled his eyes a bit ad and whispered "in what world does hazel and blue eyes look alike," Arthur would then squeeze his brothers shoulders before whispering back " besides your eyes you do look like him and quiet down unless you wants others to hear," Henry smiled a bit toward Arthur who smiled back at his brother keeping his arm around his shoulders.

" Your children all look alike you to Pearl which is probably a good things seeing how beautiful you are," Luke spoke to Peral and after everyone was in the dining room Henry noticed that the Moon family was bickering slightly with some humor as he looked up toward Arthur who gave a simple smile. Henry could tell his brother had something on his mind and thinking about something but he wasn't sure he should say anything as their father spoke " disaster can lead to some of the greatest achievements you know," Luke then would wrap his arm around Pearl and kiss her on the cheek before whispering in her ear " I'm glad we did this, your family are all lovely just like you my love."

Henry looked over at his brother and whispered in his ear before they sat down, " is that normal that they tease each other?" Henry would feel his shoulders being squeezed by Arthur who would whisper back " maybe teasing is normal in families that are open with each other," Henry bit his cheek to stop himself from laughing as he sat on the edge of the table at the opposite end of his father. Arthur would sit next to Henry and slightly smile at him before they would stare at their soup, their father would sit next to Pearl after pulling out her own chair.

Henry eyed up to Annabeth who would sit away from him.and his brother, closer to their father for a odd reason before bumping into Gabe but completely ignoring him after. She would however sit next to Franklin whom she would give a slight smile to before returning to a resting anyone face, Henry would look up to his brother as he whispered " is it to soon to leave now?" Henry would then see his brother stir his soup whole he whispered back " give it some time, when the chaos starts then we leave merlin," Henry jokly rolled his eyes at his brother with a smile before whispering " hopefully before dinner since if the soup is this then dinner has to be worse," Henry saw his brother smirk a bit at his comment before whispering back " you just don't like potato's that's why you don't like this soup merlin."

Smiling a little Henry would whisper back a bit dramatically " you know me to well, Art," Arthur would rolled his eyed a bit toward his brother with a smile before taking on a more mature and responsible look as he set his spoon down and looked up toward Pearl who asked him a question.

Henry never liked the ministry and aurors one of things he didn't like as he smiled toward Arthur at Gabe's comment since he knee his disliking of the ministry. Arthur he would see slightly look toward Henry before back at Pearl with a mature and responsible look about him as he spoke " Yes, I'm currently taking my second and third years of the training together which is difficult but will he worth it since I will be able to take the auror examination in the summer and hopefully become a official auror," Henry then saw that look in his brother's eyes that he was planning something as he spoke " I originally wanted to be a curse breaker but switch to auror since our mum was one. Could I ask what you do Mrs Moon? I assume you work for ministry which bring me to my ask question on how you both met, it must have been quite a story."

Luke gave a quick stern look to his elder son before grazing back at Pearl and speaking " would you like to tell it dear? Or I can, of course," Henry looked over at his older brother and the two shared a quick smile before going back to stirring their soups.

A warm, sincere smile overtook Pearl's face as she turned back to Luke, whispering, "Thank you, darling. This means more than you could ever know." Rose was sure that if she could peek into her soul, she would see nothing but pure joy and love overflowing at both her boyfriend and her children and her boyfriend's children getting along. Rose and her mother had had their differences, but she knew her mother was happy with this guy, so she couldn't think of much else but being happy for her mother in that moment.

Henry and Arthur were staring at their soup, not eating it. Were they allergic? Maybe they were just not hungry at the moment? Had their appetite been ruined at the news of Did they not like how it looked? Were they just picky like some of her siblings were? Even all four of Rose's siblings were eating the potato soup. Rose's mother had made it with magic, after all, so it wasn't going to taste just like any soup. Well, magic and love, that is.

Rose's mother had been impressed before, but it had doubled now. Rose saw Faith choke a little on her soup, but it was nothing obvious so no attention was brought to the pretty blonde teen. "That's very ambitious of you, Arthur. I'm sure all this hard work will reward you in the future. Good luck for your training. Though I doubt you'll need it." If there was anything Rose's mother admired, it was people working hard to reach their dreams.

"Actually, no. I don't work at the ministry. I thought about it a little bit when I was younger, but I work as a Healer at St. Mungo's because I've always wanted to be one and was really interested in it when I attended Hogwarts." Rose's mother would smile again as Arthur asked about how they met. "It was quite a story. I can tell it," she said, then launching into a story, "I was carrying this big, ginormous stack of papers somewhere and we completely crashed into each other. I still don't know why he was there," she laughed, a bright laugh that wouldn't fail to calm everyone in the room down, brightening the mood. "The papers flew everywhere. Luke was so gentlemanly, he helped me pick up all the papers and he even walked me to where I was trying to go, and we had a talk and he asked me if I would go on a date with him. To be honest, I was scared out of my mind, but I said yes anyway. And things... kinda... went from there," she would look up at Luke fondly, as if to ask him if he had anything to add to that.

"So Henry, Rose, how did you two meet?" she asked. Rose would smile and let Henry tell that since he hadn't really talked so far.

Sitting at the end and anyway from the others, the two brothers were able to whisper among themselves as they both were bent over their soup; stirring them as they whispered. "At least he looks happy maybe them being together won't be that bad," Arthur whispered to his younger brother while watching the two parents flirt among themselves. Henry mean while was still thinking why his father was dating Rose's mom. She was a friend and a close one to Henry so how would their relationship be affected now? Hardly anyone knew his personal and family life but now she would and they would constantly see each other with their parents now so what will happen to them back at Hogwarts.

"You were yelling at him right before about this but now your okay it? What change Art," Henry whisper back to his brother still with his find focus on his relationship with Rose as Arthur whispered back " I'll tell you later actually I'll tell you during summer holiday trust me you'll love it," Henry slightly topped his eyes at his brother as the two shared a smile between each other still stirring their soups.

Their father gasped Pearl's hand in his as he smiled and replied back " I can only guess, I'm glad everything is working out since you deserve the best," Henry couldn't handle listening to his father flirt anymore and then noticed Rose staring at him. He looked down and noticed he was still sitrring his soup and when he look toward Arthur he was occasionally taking a spoon so Henry took a spoon of the soup and drunk, to him it tasted like any other soup when Arthur whispered in his ear " more reason why you should also become a auror merlin, you have a passion for knowledge like me. You would do great as a auror," Henry gave him a small playful smile before whispering back " I will never be a auror Art, I'll make sure of it," the brothers shared another smile between them as Pearl was discussing where and how she met Luke.

Everyone seemed to be listening to Pearl except for one; Annabeth who was seat next to Franklin still as she rolled her eyes and took a spoon of soup she then mutter under her breath so probably only Franklin heard, " some soup this is," she then would accidently lock eyes with Franklin and stare at him for a few moments before breaking their contact and looking somewhere else as she mutter " shit."

After the story, Luke would gaze into Pearl's eyes as he spoke " I'm glad the department sent me for those records that day," Henry looked toward his brother they both had that looked that said there father spent to much time at the ministry. Henry took another spoon of soup and wasn't expecting to be addressed when he heard Pearl speak and Rose look at him expecting to, one thing friends didn't know was at home Henry rarely spoke and usually his brother did as he looked at his brother before speaking kind of quietly and fast " at Hogwarts, the quidditch pitch I guess," Henry turned to Arthur and gave him a pleading eye in which he spoke to Pearl " so you work at St Mungo's Miss Moon, did you enjoy being a healer then?" Arthur tapped his toe against Henry's and he let out a small smile.

Annabeth seemed like your stereotypical moody teenager. Rose knew she was a squib, but it wasn't like it was the only thing she knew about her. Annabeth was pretty and had a mind of her own, both of which Rose admired. Apparently Frankie admired at least one of those things as well. She also hadn't said a single word throughout the meeting up until now. Frankie was just peacefully eating his soup when Annabeth murmured sarcastically about the soup and then noticed Frankie was sitting beside her as she said it. They locked eyes for what seemed longer than either of them noticed, before looking away in unison. "It's okay," Frankie murmured, too quiet for anyone else at the dinner table to hear. He shrugged. "You don't have to like it. I think we have some other stuff in the fridge, do you want to make something else? Like a sandwich?" he offered while everyone else was listening to the story of how Pearl and Luke had met, so the attention was not on the two of them.

Rose felt really really bad for putting Henry on the spot like that. All the attention had shifted to him and he must have felt really unconfortable in that moment. Rose bit her lip, scolding herself.

Arthur would come to Henry's rescue, however, asking Pearl about how she enjoyed her job. Rose, who still wasn't entirely sure what to think of Arthur, was boosted at that moment. Couldn't Rose just do things herself instead of letting other people come to the rescue for her actions? "I do enjoy it, thank you. Herbs and magical plants and such have always been one of my great interests in life, even though my parents thought it was a little strange," she laughed at the memory. She had long since made up with her parents, but Rose knew they had wanted her to have a job that gave her more status in the world, which had been part of their pureblood mindset that they had abandoned a while ago. "They're just fascinating to me. What about you? What is it about being an Auror that made you interested?"

While the main conversation was on careers among the group there were some whispering among the children like Annabeth and Franklin whom seemed to have been having their own what sounded like a conversation as Annabeth whispered to the boy in a snappy manner " I don't remember asking for your opinion," however after a moment she would then whisper " sorry. Anyway I'm sure there's something else to this dinner than juts soup right?" Annabeth would look at Franklin for a moment before looking away and whispering to him again " I'll keep the sandwich in mind through, Franklin right?"

Meanwhile the main conversation turned to Pearl who was discussing why she chose to become a healer. Henry occasionally eating his soup along with Arthur who would share a smile with him occasional or a wink. One thing was certain and that was that the two brothers were close, closer then they would tell others and closer then you would guess. They used each other to bounce off of in social situations getting the attention off of one, mostly Arthur helping Henry to get out of the spotlight not to mention they knew everything about one another especially things that others typically wouldn't know. The two even had what some said was their own language or could sleep almost telepathically with each other as they used body cues and facial expressions to communicate with each other sometimes if they couldn't whisper.

"Don't all pureblood families find anything strange if it doesn't earn status. I'm glad that you became a healer through darling and I'm sure many of your patients are as well," Luke spoke while gazing into Pearl's eyes causing Henry to looked at Arthur and out of the view of others gag a little as a joke casing the two smiled before looking back at the two adult's.

Henry would then catch Rose's eyes and Nestor forgotten the two hadn't really spoken since he got there even through they were rather close friends, that still wasn't Henry's fault since he was closely bonded with his brother and when the two were together then he hardly did speak really so he would give Rose a smile before turning back to Arthur whom was nodding at Pearl who was asking him a question.

"How many careers did you change Art," Henry whispered to his brother who would smiled at Henry a bit before turning to Pearl and speaking with rather a respectful voice " I actually changed my career a few times. At a point I had it down to curse breaker, dragon trainer, and auror. But in the end I decided to go with auror mainly because my mum was a auror and after she died I was always thinking of ways to continue her legacy so I decided to pursue her career," Arthur gave Pearl a smile as Luke gave his elder son a look before turning back to his girlfriend and smiling at her.

Henry and Arthur then shared a smile between then when their father spoke " so do all your children attend Hogwarts then?"
